Whether you're looking for burgers, brisket, catfish, ribs, sausage, amazing seasoned fries, great fried okra, or tasty desserts (including their pie shakes, which I've never seen offered anywhere else), this is the place to go. I never get tired of going here, and there's almost always a quiet table available in one of their two dining areas, which I prefer -- crowded or loud places are not my favorite. They also have a lot of options as far as toppings and types of cheese, etc. are concerned. The service has always been friendly and accommodating. I would say their prices are middle-of-the-road, and well worth the quality and portion sizes you get. I never leave feeling hungry or dissatisfied. My only warning would be to drive carefully if you're coming in from the Bandera St. entrance (closest to the Waffle House). Our first time's trying this place, And I would maybe give it four stars out of ten. The silver where in the silverware containers and the dining room was filthy. I pulled out about four or five pieces and took to the front counter. I made a few specific adjustments to my Burger. To which thing update repeated them to me as I was ordering. It's still came out wrong. And when I ask for the other part of my order that I never received. She said she would be right back with it. She never came back and almost 10 minutes later. I went to the front counter again. And the other lady who was supposed to get the rest of my meal was standing at the counter on her phone. "Brisket Burger" sounds like a big invitation to me, so I made sure to stop when I was in Denton to try it out. The place is well kept, and everyone is friendly and helpful, so I was excited to try this burger made with brisket! What I got, was a plain, nothing-special, cafeteria burger, that I wouldn't boast about. The value was good, and the burger was ok, but it doesn't come close to hitting my top 20 in DFW. Okay, the burgers are good but their chicken strips are killer. We pulled off I-35 after seeing positive Yelp! Reviews and tried the Benedict burger. Excellent burger with bacon, hash brown and a perfectly cooked egg that coated the entire patty when cut. My father had the chicken strips that was head and shoulders above all the recent chicken chain upstarts. Definitely worth pulling off I-35 to get some fun tasty food. read more

New to Denton, so trying new places and hit this one on a whim. Since it was my first time, I just got a stock bacon cheeseburger and fries. Both were wonderful! Made to order and came out hot and fresh. The fries in particular had that wonderful CRUNCH to them when they're perfectly cooked. The flavoring on everything was great, too. The worker that took my order was very helpful with her suggestions, though it ultimately boiled down to "it's all good!" Lol! This place is not much to look at but the food is really good. We got the catfish and shrimp. For our 2 sides we got a side salad and French fries. The side salad was great! Veggies were fresh and it wasn't comprised of iceberg lettuce. The croutons were so good they had to be homemade. The ranch was good and didn't taste like it was a cheap, overly sweet dressing. It came with 2 hush puppies. They were good but not great. The shrimp was most disappointing to me. They were cooked perfectly it's just the breading was to soft for my preference. They gave me 6 shrimp and 1 catfish filet on my plate. The catfish was delicious!! Exactly how I like it. Breaded in cornmeal so crust was nice and crunchy but not real thick. The fish was clean and not fatty or muddy tasting. The meal was $13.99. Next time I will order the catfish plate instead of the combo. The service was very quick. Actually too quick. Unfortunately we did a take out order and it wasn't good. The chicken sandwiches were sad. The chicken was so thin and didn't even remotely cover the bun. My husband doesn't like a lot of extras on his and asked for his plain and they put mayo and pickles on his. Which makes the bun useless. So he had a few bites of chicken and not much of anything else. He called and the reasoning is problem with getting food. Okay. I get that Covid has affected places. I must start by saying that I've ate here twice. The first time I had a brisket burger and fried pickles on Sunday that were great. Prepared by one or maybe both men in the kitchen at the time. And the service was great by the two young ladies up front. Very friendly, helpful and recommended several menu items. Since I'm here from California and my hotel room overlooks the restaurant. I ventured down today for some wings. The same two young ladies as before assisted me up front. Again friendly and welcoming as always. This time however, I ordered wings "naked, no breading with the sauce on the side". Which is exactly the way I heard it called back to the kitchen. On this day there were two young ladies in the kitchen. My order came back with breading. This after an 18 minute wait. The girl upfront apologized to me for the error and requested the correct order to the kitchen "naked, no breading". To which they replied back "well naked means no sauce right?, thats what I thought" said one girl and the other said "thats what it means to me to". Which I thought was not only rude to their co worker but also disrespectful to me, the customer as if I don't know what I'm ordering. I've ordered wings in 12 different states throughout the country and most know what "naked wings" are, those that were unsure asked. But this was the first time cooks defended their error with rudeness and a smart *** comeback. The young lady upfront said again I'm sorry, we'll correct this and if you want you can just take these maybe you'll wanna try em, etc. Since I had my friend with me who ordered a catfish meal that was now hot & ready I said "sure maybe my buddy can eat it" with his hot meal as I wait another 15-20mins. Then from the kitchen the cook yells out "well if you're going to give them that one, I'm not cooking another one". WTH! This person just screwed up my order and then has the audacity to basically say she's going to refuse to offer me the proper order, respect and customer service that I am due. The young lady upfront that was helping, who I asked her name "Brooklyn" had to state she would let the manager know just to get the cook to do the right thing. I have never witnessed someone with such a poor understanding of basic customer service skills as these two ladies in the kitchen. Then to be rude, insulting and obnoxious to their co worker and likewise to myself as I'm standing at the counter hearing this. Thanks to the two young ladies at the counter, who I can say are great with a fun loving, high energy level, and do a great job selling the menu and offer great customer service. They get 5 stars on both my visits. But the attitude of today's kitchen staff brought the rating down tremendously. I will eat here again but I will make sure the cooks with the poor customer service skills and negative energy levels are not the ones preparing my food. Wow. I am so glad I finally stopped in. My wife and I were craving a burger on Labor Day and we wanted to try something new. We narrowed our venue options down to three places in Denton and finally decided on Brisket Burger. This was one of those rare experiences that completely blew away all expections. I was glad to see the place had a decent amount of customers right after opening at 11am. You walk right into the ordering counter and the dining area is around the side. There are more tables than I expected from seeing the images online. The dining area was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very friendly and when we walked in they quickly greeted us and offered assistance with the menu. I already knew what I was going to order thanks to Yelp. The ordering process was quick and easy and they accommodated every customization I asked about. Our order: 1/3 lb Chopper Burger (burger with chopped brisket on top of the patty). Was fantastic! The burger was so good and moist, extremely flavorful and everything was so tender. The onion roll was a nice touch! The 1/3 lb size was perfect considering the extra content of the shredded brisket. It would have been absolutely perfect with something crunchy on it, such as potato chips or some of their haystack onion rings. 1/2 lb blue cheese burger. I ordered this with mustard instead of ranch, added grilled onions and jalapenos, and an onion roll in place of the default bun. Oh man so good! I had been craving blue cheese and this was the perfect solution. This really was one of the best burgers I can remember ever eating. The meat was super moist, tender, and cooked perfectly with a nice flavor that came through even with the blue cheese and other toppings. Next time I might try this with double 1/3 lb patties instead of the single 1/2 lb. The sides were just as remarkable: Jumbo Onion Rings : Oh wow, these were like an inch wide and so large that I could have fit them around my wrist. They were without doubt the best onion rings I've ever had. The batter was very flavorful so I didn't even bother dipping them in the ranch. They were nice and crispy, and a little on the ticker side. They were served super fresh right out of the fryer. So good! Fried Pickles : Very good! The portion was very generous. The batter was similar to the onion rings and had a noticable spice which took them to the next level of excellence. No dip was required because the flavor was already perfect. First off, the staff is lovely and very accommodating. That's really the reason for any of the stars. We spent over $50 for 3 people. Each of us had a meal. We ordered 2 burger meals and 1 brisket hoagie meal. Then we had to wait over an hour for the food. The fried mushrooms were a treat but all of the other food was average. I really wanted to love this place. We left disappointed. For the amount of money put out and the time spent waiting, the food was not worth the wait, I am hoping it was just an off day. read more

I REALLY wanted to love this place but sadly I only thought it was OK. They have quite a few tables in the restaurant, far more than I expected. Their patties are a mix of beef and pork. I tried their black and blue burger. When they don't ask you how you want it cooked, you can assume the patty is going to be too thin to cook it the way you might want it. The burger and bun was pretty good but I've had far better burgers. I also ended up getting their sweet potatoe fries. They looked really dark but they were pretty good. My mom, sister and I stopped by this location because it's a triple d restaurant. The place is really not much to look at, and things were not as clean as I would like, but the food was great. There was no one really serving you, so after bringing our food over, we we're on our own. The employees were nice, and the pecan pie was amazing- the filling was similar to caramel and not gel-like. Only 4 stars b/c nothing is perfect and it comes down to personal opinion. That being said, this place is awesome! Could be the best burger in Denton. I had the Fireside Burger, chili cheese fries and a vanilla shake. The burger was cooked to perfection and had fresh cut jalapenos instead of jarred, pickled jalapenos which I find a rare thing, but obviously better. This burger was a bit on the messy side which kind of too away from the awesomeness of it due to a large dollop of guac on the bottom bun. My opinion: Use a thick smear instead of a dollop. Other than that, this burger was fantastic. Chili cheese fries? Oh yes! So good! I could just order these and eat them as a meal they are so good. Tasty chili, not too spicy and a queso type cheese oozed all over... the chili/cheese was not just sitting on top either. It was all throughout the fries b/c who likes when you get past that top layer of fries and just find plain fries below? No one! Vanilla shake. Not sure what ice cream they use, but it is a natural vanilla bean flavor (not BlueBell). The shake was tasty, but I thought it could have been just a tad thicker, like a bit less milk added. Again though, this is personal opinion and also understand that each shake is made by hand and will be different. Being traditional, I went w/ vanilla although I saw that they have pie shakes?! which I will be trying upon my next return. Bottom line. Brisket Burger is a hit. Disappointed in my experience, but the food was tasty. It's set up to order at the counter and they will bring you your food, so I consider this as a fast casual restaurant. The problem is that they were anything but fast. It took well over 20 minutes to get my food and the excuse I got was that they had 12 burgers ordered in a relatively short time...12 burgers????? Additionally, the price you pay for what you get and the condition of the dining area seems a bit pricey. But with all of that said, the burger was tasty. I think if you were to take this place's burgers and add a great location like another well known burger spot on the Denton Square, this restaurant could be killer and even get away with the long wait and higher prices. read more

Stopped in on way thru town, recommended by local hotel staff. Out of pulled pork, but opted for the three meat plate with brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño sausage. Could not taste the jalapeño in the sausage and the ribs were a tad overcooked, assuming they were reheated. The brisket was melt in your mouth good tho.
