(Lots of spicy mayo and too much blue cheese in our opinion). We took a bunch of sauce off of it and it was still very "blue- cheesy". Driving through an area that is full of big name restaurants, saw a 4.4 google review and thought we'd take a chance. Walking in, the restaurant is very dark and hot. We are in a Texas cold front and we had to ask that the fans be turned on, it was just so hot inside. There were zero customers inside. We were greeted and asked what we would like. The chicken was pounded out so very thin, I'm assuming to cook quickly but it was not seasoned and was charred so much that not even the guacamole (diced brown avocados) could save it. Had my first dining experience today and have to say that it was not up to expectation. The food was so-so and serving size left some to be desired. Staffing was minimal (one person behind the counter), although pleasant to interact with during the ordering process, but once food was received, did not see the employee again. As for price, definitely did not feel like I received value for the money spent... could have gone to a sit-down restaurant for the same or less money. I have to downgrade my initial review from a few years ago. To be clear, the staff was very friendly and busy so this is not a reflection of the employees. The burger quality is not what they used to be - they are now either premade or just cooked poorly and without seasoning. The half pound burger and the quarter pound burger seemed exactly the same so either they messed up my order or their portioning is way off. Medium rare and well done are exactly the same. I was tempted to go three stars but the actual dining facility and operation was just not very polished. The dining room is cramped and frigid. The tables and things are a bit run down. The same employee taking the orders and payments also delivers food to the tables and also cleans tables when patrons leave. Well, I have to say I was disappointed. To start with, it just opened at 1700 and I arrived @ approximately 1725. Two other people were inside and that told me at the very least, it was edible. We were greeted by a young man and we ordered. I noticed the burger that was perfectly round and frozen...the gentleman on the grill did not have a hair net nor gloves; in fact he had a thick winter beanie hat on, which was odd! The order came quickly... (2) burger meals and a kids chicken "tender". Burgers were salty but hot and nice chew...Chicken was the cheap frozen, pre-breaded type that was horrible of course. Overall the meal was a basic burger worth one star. My biggest and most concerning gripe is given the fact that B&B had just opened, the floor was horribly filthy (see pics) and it felt like Antarctica inside. Buyer Beware - Prices on Menu Board are NOT what you are charged. We went to Burgers & Brats on Saturday. I ordered a burger and my wife & sister both ordered a hotdog "smothered in kraut". The menu board said it was $4.99 for the dog & $1.90 for the kraut (see pictures). The woman at the register never showed me an itemized receipt and only told me the charge was $45.12, which I paid on credit card. She then handed me two receipts (one a card charge receipt & the other an itemized receipt). The itemized receipt showed that my wife & sister were both charged $3.99 for a "side" of kraut & not the $1.90 for the "smother", which I very clearly told the woman at the register. When I questioned this, two workers told me that the owner has not updated the register to allow them to charge what is on board & they can only charge the "Side" price & not the "Smother" price. They repeatidly blamed it on the owner. I asked for my money back, as I was not going to support a restaurant that basically steals from customers. I asked for the owners info, but I was told it was not available. It is not simply that I did not want to pay $2 more (for us it was $4), it is more that when you think about how many other people order this item and are charged the extra/hidden $2....The owner is stealing a LOT of money. Plus who knows how many other menu board items are mispriced that customers unknowingly pay more for. You can clearly see that the menu board pricing is easily changed, the owner could simply take 5 minutes & update his board OR change the register so that his workers can charge the correct amount. Instead he chooses to do NEITHER and is overcharging his customers and his workers are NOT telling customers of this. I would avoid this restaurant as there are numerous other restaurants that are honest & do not mislead their customers. No matter how good the food is, customers should not have to deal with misleading pricing & dishonesty by owner/staff. read more

About 6 months ago I went here three times across 6 weeks. The employees are nice, no problem there. We were hoping to find a place to be regulars. It was small and we liked that. We liked that the guys working there were well mannered and followed the somewhat entertaining direction of the head cook/lead/manager. We had good burgers and brats - I tried the German potato salad. I wouldn't recommend it. It was mashed. I have had good German potato salad before and liked it other times. The fries were ok. The main thing is that over those three visits we decided the seating/dining area is not clean enough for us to continue there. It needs a deep cleaning. Wow! Looking at these reviews it seems people either love this place or they hate it! This review/rating is off one visit, with the knowledge that I may have felt differently if I ordered some of the more expensive menu items. However, I can only be true to the experience I actually had when writing my review. I drive by this shopping center on my way home every day and have been curious to try it. I had only tried to stop in once before, but it was on a Monday. Turns out they are closed on Mondays. When finally trying a new place, I normally have read through the menu and reviews and decided on something that is recommended. This was not the case. I hadn't eaten in 10 hours, so I wanted to eat quickly. Since I have a tendency to graze, and had other things to do, I also wanted something on the smaller side, so I could actually eat dinner later. I stopped in at 2:30pm on a Thursday. The place isn't huge, but they do maximize their space with the most seating they can comfortably fit in, so many people can dine in at once. On the right wall there is a large, easy to read menu and then further back is the counter, with the drink station across from it. There was someone leaving with a to go order and another person paying for a to go order. I scanned a couple of items from each section of the menu. I made the assumption based on prices, that they didn't have a lot of smaller portion items here. I was hungry, so when it was my turn I didn't ask a lot of menu/recommendation questions to make the most of the experience. I just ordered the kids burger meal, which is $5.99. At a glance, it seemed to be the only thing to fit my particular needs. The gentleman at the register was polite, though not exactly friendly and helpful. I was treated like a customer who should know the menu and asked what I wanted on the burger. I asked what it came with and was told it was basically what I wanted. That's cool, but I still had to ask specifically what is offered. From memory, it's your basic toppings, but they had a variety of cheeses that you don't always get everywhere. I like my cheese, so I was pleased with that aspect! I ordered the burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato and Monterrey Jack. I was asked if I wanted fries or chips and went with fries. I was given a small, kids size drink and a number. Their drink/condiment station was well stocked, so I helped myself and sat in a booth. The pictures and décor are fun for what appears to be a run of the mill burger place. Their numbers don't fit into their holders well at all, but few were dining in, so I wasn't really stressing on that point. I spent more time looking at the menu while I waited and saw a lot of customized burgers and brats, salads, hotdogs and more side items that I didn't realize they carried like German potato salad and Truffle fries. Looks like their menu has more personality than I originally assumed. The prices on the menu seemed high, but I honestly can't say because even a couple of people that came in after me got to go orders and another party hadn't gotten their food yet when I left. Since I didn't get to see any other meals, or even drink sizes up close, I can't comment on the portion to price value of items on the main menu. My order was up first, but it took a while. They made it fresh, but it made me wonder how long I would have waited if I hadn't come during an off peak time. Might need to take my cue from all the customers getting to go orders during this time. I didn't find the staff engaged or efficient, but this may have been exhaustion from the lunch rush, except for the one sitting with her phone in full view. The food was a fair portion for $5.99 and the kids burger was the size of a normal burger for fast food or fast casual, so I imagine their normal burgers are the larger sizes you get from gourmet burger places. It was plenty of food for me, though again I don't usually have a huge mid afternoon appetite. I wasn't super impressed with the burger from my first bite. The fries were skinny and crispy, but not anything special. Might have been if they had more seasoning. They definitely weren't bad, just forgettable. Now about three bites in, my opinion of the burger changed. It was actually quite juicy and had a lot of flavor. I couldn't quite tell how much of this was from the burger vs. the cheese as all the flavors were working pretty well together. The veggies were very fresh, especially the lettuce, which always makes me happy. The inner part of the burger was where all the fun was at. Overall, the quality I got was a pretty good burger with decent enough fries, especially for the price. That being said, if I paid twice as much, I would want to be more impressed or it would be closer to a 3 star experience for me. I'll give them another try and take the chance on some other items on the menu. This isn't a cheap lunch, but it is an interesting menu with food good enough to get my curiosity up about trying more. read more
