So where do I begin first off waited 15 minutes for our drinks than an extra 10 minutes for a straw. Our waitress Katie was serving other tables and forget about ours it was just very rude and unprofessional. Saw her on her phone instead of serving us. We had a little issue getting in on a Thursday night after our softball game, because we didn't meet their dress code. The gentleman at the door was cool about it and our friends inside came out to see if he'd make an exception. I went to Bristol Republic for brunch with a group of 10 people. The good: * They have bottomless mimosas! Even better, this is a total STEAL at just $10. I think one mimosa is priced at $5, so going bottomless is a no brainer. * They had live music (think it was Matt and Troy), which was great! * The chef was very accommodating. One of our group ordered something that for some reason wasn't going to be ready in time, and the chef personally came out to apologize and offered to make him something else. My friend requested breakfast tacos - which are not on the menu (not sure why he would make that request) - but the chef was totally game to make them for him. * I am not a bloody mary fan, but this place had the best bloody I've ever had. Get it extra spicy! The mediocre: * Service was subpar when we were first seated (I understand 10 people is a big table, but there was almost no one in the restaurant), though it did improve the longer we were there. Our waiter was really good about refilling our mimosas once we were finished with our meals, but we waiting a very long time to get our first 1-2 drinks when we were seated. * I had really high expectations for the food here but was not impressed. I tried the brisket and eggs, fried chicken sandwich, and cinnamon roll. The brisket was surprisingly dry, the fried chicken was crispy but lacking in flavor (I soaked it in hot sauce), and the cinnamon roll was totally lacking gooey moistness you'd expect. Our table also had lukewarm coffee and cold home fries - both disappointing. I'd really like to give Bristol Republic 4 stars, but I just can't due to the subpar experience with their food. Overall, I'd go back to brunch here strictly for the mimosas, but I don't know if I'd be inclined to dine in again. read more

Super loud country music, a bunch a drunk college kids (come on kids it's 5pm...pace yourselves). The BBQ was not good. The ribs were flabby and not a lot of meat. We got the try it all and it was a ton of food. Definitely enough for 3 people. The ribs were the best part, though my mom thought the chicken wings were the best. Columbus needed this! Bristol Republic is my new favorite place around Columbus for a few reasons: the atmosphere, the live music, and of course the food. I've been in here at all times throughout the day and I've never left unsatisfied. I have yet to try the brunch, I've attended midday live music sessions though on a Sunday and it's such a laid back place to grab a drink and enjoy an artist. I'm obsessed with brunch and have been dying to try Bristols since they began it. On social media, it looks amazing though and I can't wait to actually try it! Lunch/Dinner: I've been here with big groups and on date nights. My family, who is extremely used to eating at the same restaurants consistently, were nervous about trying something different. Everyone LOVED their meals and couldn't believe how everything turned out so great. I'm a huge fan of the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. The wings are good as well. This is a great place for BBQ items. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. I'm a huge country music and live music fan so I've loved coming on the weekends and look forward to it most weekends. While conversing outside with my friends the bouncer starts to let my friends in and randomly stops me and asks "are you even with them " ( mind you he interrupts our group conversation which I thought would make it clear we're all together ). As the only black person in my group of white friends I definitely felt pretty uncomfortable. This was one of the most fun bars I have ever been to! I came here on a recommendation from a friend, and I was not disappointed. It was very crowded walking in, so I took that as a good sign. So glad we gave this place another chance. A few weeks ago my husband and I walked in and the host was lovely, the wait staff was not. She was trying to figure out where to seat us and the waiter, under his breath, suggested the bar. His attitude was unwelcoming and I didn't come to a place to eat at the bar (some places are ok) our first time in. I looked at my husband and said, "no we're leaving." We walked a couple doors down and had a great time with ok food. Fast forward to last night. My husband has been working crazy hours and we both forgot out 10th anniversary. We decided to eat out and "celebrate" by not having dishes lol. After finding an awesome parking spot right out front at 930pm on a Wednesday, we decided to give them another try. The waiter was super friendly and helpful. The kitchen closed at 10 pm but he wasn't rushing us. They were out of a couple items we tried to order, but we knew that coming in right before the kitchen closed was risky. The chef gave us a $1 off our cracklings because he was out of pimento cheese. The ribs were sold out. The greens were tasty but a little too salty for our taste, buy I make mine with less salt than most. I would have given 5 stars but my cracklings were not hot and fresh popping when they came out, I did ask the waiter before I ordered, they were still good but not fresh. My husband ordered the brisket and it was amazing, tender and juicy. My macaroni and cheese with the recommended pulled pork was so creamy and the tender, smokey meat was an excellent addition with being too much. The sauces aren't needed but are a nice compliment. Even my husband who doesn't usually like sweet liked all the sauces. If we can get this great service again, we'll be back. read more

A friend recommended we try out Bristol Republic for the first time for dinner to try out their all-you-can-eat bbq Sunday special. Upon being seated, three various servers ignored our table - even though the restaurant only had a few patrons. After 10 minutes or so, the woman who sat us served us water. Our actual server showed up 5 minutes later - took our order but then she realized the beer we ordered was no longer available - and worse - they were unable to offer the bbq special. I noticed their brisket was the same price and asked if the manager would honor an exception - the manager declined our request. The server's passive attitude was offsetting. Since the service was already lacking, they were out of our beer and they were unable to serve the bbq special, we decided to leave and take our business across the street. The server's aloof attitude was the final straw. This business earned 1 star for this experience. read more

To those interested in attending this establishment, let me give a background of myself before you jump to conclusions. I am a regular at Bristol and until this morning, I would have never thought of writing such a review. Happy hour? Great. Nightlife? Wonderful. BBQ? Delightful. However, Brunch??? You will not catch me wasting my Sunday morning in this fashion ever again. Upon arrival, I was seated to a small table with my friends amidst bustling servers and fretted food runners. I was greeted about 10 minutes later reminding our table that it was a buffet. No water, no silverware, little service. We ventured to the buffet to find most of the food gone, unprepared, or simply unappealing. We then ate sub-par food for the steep price of 19.99 per head + tip. All in all, I do not necessarily blame the staff/service of the restaurant. This seems to me like a management issue. The faces of the servers were distraught, telling me they were simply unequipped with the right tools to do their jobs. Burger and beer week brought me to Bristol Republic. The place has a country/western vibe to it and it's very spacious inside. The burger they were featuring was OK. The fries were an additional $4 which was fine until I saw the small portion size. I think it's totally unfair to charge $4 for what was a super small portion. The service was fine expect the server forgot a couple things and she also forgot to come back at the end so we could pay. Overall the experience was fine. Last night I attended a whiskey tasting at Bristol Republic. Had a great Time! There were 4 Irish whiskeys tested with an Irishman (I assume a whiskey rep.) who gave an entertaining explanation of each one. He gave us not only background info on each whiskey but a fascinating explanation of the history of the whiskey industry in Ireland. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich with fries and it was the best I've ever had, especially at the price point...$9. I didn't go away hungry. I ordered the Suzy Q apple pie for dessert. The flavor was wonderful. Definitely shareable. If I had one critique it would be the apples were not peeled which made them "chewy". Not enough of a concern to keep me from giving them 5 stars. This was my second time at Bristol. The first time there I had the smoked brisket with homemade chips. Amazing! And I'm not easily impressed when it comes to smoked meats. Being a former government meat inspector I have a lot of experience with how smoked meats are processed. Bristol has its own smoker and does a top notch job producing a product of the highest quality. I will definitely be back, hopefully on a night when they have the live music, which I understand is usually incredible. read more

They were getting ready to close down the patio but they allowed us to enjoy a drink out there when we were done eating. Barbecue was good, but not the best we had during our Ohio trip. I don't know why the hell anyone would go to this place. We ordered chips and guacamole for an appetizer and they said that they were out. We switched the order to nachos. The nachos came out with guacamole on top. WTH.... One of us ordered a salad and the dressing was rancid. We sent it back and they did redo the order. But it took 30 more min to get the new salad out to us. Fail. The barbecue was ok - nothing great. City Barbecue is ten times better. Finally, we made the mistake of ordering the fresh made banana bourbon pudding. It took 40 minutes to get it. And it came with no bananas at all and no bourbon taste. Updated: We tried Bristol Republic again. The overall experience was much better than before. Our waiter Nathan was extremely friendly and constantly checked on us as well as the manager on duty. The Rodeo Bites are amazing and are a must get when you go. I am not a fan of cracklin, but my friend ordered it and said they were great. The rodeo bites and cracklin had pimento cheese on it or on the side. The pimento cheese is addictive, so be careful. The Creamed Corn Elotes is interest but good (cream corn with queso, with flaming cheetos on top). The brisket and pulled pork were delicious as well as the other sides we had. We were able to try the items they were not available last time. The food is really good and that hasn't changed from the last time. The service was so much better. Previous review: The food we ended up with was good, but they were out of most of the things we tried to order. We started at the bar and the bar staff was great. One of their signature cocktails was not available as well as two of the bourbons we tried to order. It was Friday if Restaurant Week and one person tried the prix fixe. They were out of one if the two appetizers and the other appetizer never showed up. His ice cream sandwich was two cookies in melted ice cream. From the menu, many other items were not available including two things from the Try it All and we were told they would not substitute them with something else. The service was not great. We had to ask different servers when we needed things. The atmosphere is very loud and it is difficult to have a conversation. I would try it again because the food we got was good. I was in town visiting with family and wanted some brisket so we made reservations for 7:30. We showed up early and we were sat waiting for the rest of our guests. We ordered some drinks, a round of shots and some appetizers- specifically the chicken deviled eggs- which were really good. 10/10. When we were sat they told us we needed to leave at 9:30 because of a another reservation- kinda rude but no big deal. Our server was Natalie and she was really nice but around 8:15 the hostess and our server told us we basically had to move for the other guests and we hadn't had an opportunity to order. The hostess was supposed to be looking for another table for us but never came back and it seems they were just trying to kick us out. It came off very cold and when my sister wanted to know why they were kicking us out, Natalie became very aggressive and told us that the other folks reserved the room for 9:15, and we need to get out. I honestly couldn't believe that we we had spent so much money in such a short time and wanted to spend more but we're asked to leave. I've never been kicked out of a restaurant while I was semi sober lol This place is atrocious when it comes to customer service. I will never come here again. No matter how good the brisket is. And Natalie needs to get her shit together. Edit: it's also come to light that Natalie got bent out of shape because we pulled up a 7th seat (which we were told by the hostess that was acceptable) and she started shoving the seat around and moved another barstool in its place. Honestly I have been here plenty of times before and the service and experience I had tonight was nothing short of pitiful. They were out of pulled pork, buffalo chicken, sausage and brisket. This is a barbecue restaurant and if you are out of everything it's better to close than have to say you have absolutely nothing. Our server charged people with the same order different bills and was unattentive and slow. He neglected many of our orders and brought them out at different times and forgot many pieces and parts. We tried the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were amazing. My only complaint is that the staff rarely wore their masks properly. Wow, with the great ratings of this place I was not planning on being so disappointed. Hostess wordlessly brought us to a table. Seated us at a high top even though we asked specifically not to be at one. We had the brunch buffet which never once had all the items that should be out at the same time, despite the place being only around 1/3 capacity. Silverware was supposed to be at the bar but they were out, eventually had to ask for them at the bar when they were never restocked and our waitress never came back. Our waitress was actually so often absent that another waitress felt bad for us and started checking in on our table. I wouldn't call anything that was on the buffet good. At best a few things were okay, and some where downright awful. I think the worst offenders were: - biscuits that were still raw in the center. By raw I mean they were still uncooked dough inside. Somehow the outsides were still somehow dry and overly crumbly though? - waffles that dripped with oil when you touched them. My guess is they were frozen and they threw them in the deep fryer. - chicken wings that were so salty they were inedible. Now, I don't kid around when I say inedible. I took the waffle dripping with oil so I ate it. I ate at least the cooked outside of the biscuit. When I bit into this chicken wing, it was like I had eaten something that was salt-crusted but someone had forgotten to remove the salt crust. I chewed for what felt like a lifetime, didn't think I could swallow it, and ended up going to the restroom to spit it out. Thankfully it was one of the last things I tried as everything tasted salty after, and my mouth stung like I had just tried to chew on a straight hunk of salt rock or something. It's still inexplicable to me out they turned out that bad. Some of the other dishes weren't great, but they weren't nearly as bad as these things were. Also, when we tried to tip the bartender who had actually helped us when we could never get our waitress (the bartenders are awesome at this place, sole exception it seems), we saw him give the tip to our waitress who I had already tipped.
