Review for Sunday brunch. I was here for work and staying at the hotel next door. I was starving and thought I'd give this place a try. Turned out they only served the brunch buffet for around $28 but it was worth the money. They had lots of breakfast items as well as sushi, salad, almond crusted, tilapia, lobster mac and cheese, fried shrimp mesquite grilled salmon, and even prime rib. It's a little pricey for brunch but that's money well spent. read more

Twice I have been very disappointed. Once was at Christmas for a company Christmas party. The second was for a birthday dinner for a party of 4. I had requested bar area. A table of 4 was vacant. I asked the hostess station if we could sit at the table. I was told that there was a wait list It's 10 minutes later and still no one is sitting at that table. I'm very disappointed to find out that they don't reserve the bar area, but I do understand. However, if there is a wait list and 10 minutes later after request, I'm confused. The total time this table went vacated is over 20 minutes. It doesn't seem like good business sense considering the cost of square footage costs and an empty table is unoccupied. Service was great but the food was lacking especially for the price. I ordered the KC Strip with whipped potatoes and lobster Mac n Cheese. The steak was charred instead of being seared and I ended up having to slice off the top and bottom layers to bypass and burnt taste. The potatoes were very good, but the Mac n Cheese was bland. My wife had a Bourbon Basil Smash cocktail and it was exceptional. I picked Bristol so that I could get a good steak but I probably would have done better at Outback. read more

We were seated promptly at the one table where everyone has to go past and of course across from the waiters station. Leon was helpful being our first time here. He suggested several items. We started with the muscles, not much flavor. She went with the 3course dinner. Lobster bisque, scallops and creme brûlée. I ordered the halibut and instead of asparagus I wanted a salad. Leon said there would be a slight up charge, $5.50 for about a dollars worth of salad. The halibut was dry and desperately needed a sauce. After much complaining about the muscles and halibut they offered me an apple crostini. Her creme brûlée lacked vanilla and was sugar grainy. My desert was unremarkable. Glad we brought our own wine, at least we had something good to drink. For the price and quality of the food served to us was way overpriced. The atmosphere was rather loud and for being an upscale restaurant holey jeans were allowed. Compared to other restaurants this lacked quality food and quality atmosphere. Our waiter was good. I really enjoy the restaurant. My family and I always come here for their happy hour specials and oyster sales. This is probably the closest you will get to authentic seafood in Missouri for an affordable price. The ahi tuna poke is one of my favorites and the oysters are always delicious. I recently went to the brunch for Father's Day and that was no let down. They have unlimited oysters, tuna, types of fish, pork roast, pancakes, waffles, breads, salad, and select desserts. The desserts include carrot cake, creme brûlée, chocolate mousse, vanilla mousse, chocolate covered strawberries, and cookies. It all tasted fantastic as always. The buffet tastes as good as ordering off the menu. I usually come during happy hour because it is more affordable. The appetizers really fill you up... but if you're looking to splurge... go all out with the buffet. read more

I have been to Bristol's on a few occasions now and have never been disappointed. I have been to the Creve Coeur location numerous times before. This was the first time visiting the O'Fallon location and boy am I glad to have come here! So this is a popular place for many business professionals during lunch time. I mean, if the street address is on Technology Drive, it is safe to assume that there are many quite a few tech companies nearby. Anyways, upon entering the restaurant, I noticed a bustling lunch crowd around the bar area and main eating area to the right. I could do away with the noise and without even saying anything, the hostess lead me to a quiet dining area to the left, away from the crowd which was greatly appreciated. Bonus point for having common sense. You cannot believe how many hosts/hostesses would just sit you with the rest of the crowd just because it is easier. After sitting briefly at my two top table, I was greeted by, Trista, the waitress who I have to say was just awesome. I pulled up Yelp prior to eating here and I was pleasantly surprised to see a coupon for a free fried calamari appetizer pop up. I redeemed at the spot and ordered the Crab Melt which comes with either Lobster Bisque or the House Salad. I went with the bisque. The Fried Calamari came out piping hot and as I squeezed the lemon, I noticed some steam which was nice to see. As I found myself devouring through the calamari and jalapeno peppers, I noticed that the batter could have been better. It was not as crispy as I had hoped. It was good but it could have been improved. The two sauces that came with it were okay and complemented the dish giving a balance between tartness and sweetness at the same time. The Lobster Bisque was a tad bit salty for my taste buds. Had a really creamy consistency throughout but just a bit too much salt. Wish there was more lobster meat but I cannot complain. The lobster that was present was uber tender and fresh. Less salt and this bisque would have been miles better! Next up is the Crab Melt which I could have just given a perfect 5 star just for this sandwich. This Jumbo Lump Crab Melt was so yummy. The two pieces of sourdough bread were lightly crisp grilled and in between was the crown jewel of the meal. The CRAB! Who knew the most luscious crab was kept in between two slices of bread. The crab was so moist and delicious. I don't think a melt could be this good but it really is something else. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still be craving for it. This sandwich may seem small at first but it is very filling. I also took home a slice of their signature carrot cake (huge slice). I'm actually eating it right now (1/2 of it) with some dark roast coffee. What a treat! It really is divine! What an awesome place to dine in. What an awesome experience during my short lunch. I can't wait to come back for dinner service. I'm already salivating! Location is great for those who stay in the Hilton Garden Inn right next door. Lucky hotel guests! My family loves Bristols. It's right by our house, and the service and food is always on point. My favorite meal is the jumbo lump crab cakes! They are the best I have ever had. So lightly packed, full of crab. Not too mayonnaise-y or weighed down by other ingredients. They are the perfect crab cakes. Mark my words. I love the lobster mac and cheese as a side. I'm not sure how anyone could eat the full meal size... The side of it is huge and it was so rich. Very cheesy! So good. The scallops are great too, seared to perfection. Wish I could comment on their steaks personally, but I just don't really eat steak. However, my family loves their filets. I also love how great the sides are here. There are so many side choices it's so difficult to choose because they are all so good! Also if you're here you gotta try their Lemon Drop! Oh my goodness, they know what they're doing. It's so good. Best Lemon Drop award!! The carrot cake is freaking fantastic. I only wish there was more of that creme anglaise! I could drink that stuff. Very good creme brûlée as well. Stopped here during a business trip. I'm always worried about "Seafood Houses" in states that aren't anywhere near an ocean. But this place was very good. We tried a wide selection of their offerings including the Crab Cakes, the Seared Ahi, the Swordfish and the Calamari. Everything was very good. I'd definitely come back here in the future. They get a 5th star for staying open for us. We got into town very late and made it to the door right at closing. But they graciously held the door for us and served us well after normal hours. Very friendly staff and a very knowledgeable waitress made this an excellent evening. read more

The quality of the food is what I would call "freshly delicious." Lots of lobster choices... The oysters wow, so good, did I say each oyster was $1??? We HAD to eat 2 dozens hard to resist. The lobster bisque, what can I tell you, incredible, best ever! Service...we couldn't ask for more, nice friendly people hosting this place. I was so excited to finally try this place bc I'd heard so many good things about it. Well... it wasn't what I hoped for. The staff was lovely but the food was not. The lobster bisque was just ok, very thin, however, the steak was covered in a congealed buttery glaze that formed a solid covering I needed to peel off the steak. And the mashed potatoes were hardened over the top that also needed to be peeled back. Maybe I went on an off might, but I won't be returning. read more

Just a quick shout out to Zach and Sean. When you set the standard for a good dinner these two are at the top of the menu. Beverages and food were served appropriate temperatures and in a timely manner they were conversive they were polite and they were examples of what we look for when we go out to eat. The bar back although I did not get his name was smiling excited to be there and was an example of how an efficient restaurant / bar should work. I cannot recommend this trilogy better than this simple review. Again food was appropriate temperature as were the drinks and the comradery was better than both of those. Without hesitation I would return with a smile and a wallet willing to pay for the experience. Ryan the manager stopped by shortly after we cut into our steaks, he went to kitchen to get new steaks cooked per our requests. Husbands came out perfect for his liking. Mine needed an additional amount of time on grill. Ryan brought it back and had me check. It was perfect. Ryan offered us a dessert on the house, we seriously appreciated the gesture. I would give this place a little above a four. The gumbo was some of the best I have ever had, which is surprising just outside of STL. The soup/salad and 1/2 sandwich lunch deal is a great price. The whipped potatoes are delicious. Crab melt was very good. A little too much sauce for my liking. Looks like a cool spot to come for a drink after work. I am staying next door at the Hilton Garden Inn. After a very frustrating day I just needed something to eat and to just wind down. I did not feel up to driving anywhere so I wandered over. I was greeted by a wonderful smell of wood smoke and grilled fish as I came in. The hostess was super friendly and promptly seated me. I asked of they had WiFi (data roaming is ridiculously pricy) and she smiled and said she'd bring the access details. Several minutes later I was online from my table. The waitress was prompt and took my cocktail order - speaking of which, the menu cocktails are solid "non-froofroo" bourbon-based ones that appeal to my sensibilities - and offered a water back. My "Downtown Dane" showed up shortly and I placed my order for the grilled fresh trout with celery-apple slaw and lemon zest risotto sides. The Downtown Dane was exactly what I needed. The sound track was jazzy (not bad pussy jazz, but solid bebop and vocal stuff) and the atmosphere was soothing. My mood was picking up. The trout showed up quickly, and was grilled to perfection. I'm not normally a big fan of trout, but this presentation ranks amongst the best I've ever had - tender and flaky but not dry and a wonderful smoky flavour in the skin and flesh. The smell of wood smoke, bourbon and grilled fish all complemented my senses and I really enjoyed the meal. I ordered a second cocktail and it was promptly delivered. When my bill arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the amount - for this quality of meal with two cocktails it was very reasonable. Not cheap, but much less than I was expecting. We had New Years Eve dinner with friends. The atmosphere was great. It was extremely busy yet it never felt crowded. We were actually able to have a conversation with our friends. The wait staff was there when needed yet not hovering. Food- I had the scallops. You have to cook scallops perfectly. And these were spot on. The sides were a little different (I had to google one of them to find out it was green beans). Overall a great meal, great atmosphere. And top notch service. read more
