I have no idea where to start. I came to see Brittany for hair extensions... something I have wanted for years because my natural hair is so thin. First off, I was over charged for the hair. The website of the hair Brittany uses has much cheaper prices than what I paid for the hair. Second, after only two weeks of having my hair extensions in, the color stripped out of them and they turned a horrible blonde color (I'm a brunette). While Brittany did put toner in them for me free of charge, the same thing happened again two weeks later. One can only assume something is wrong with the quality of the hair I just dropped $400 on. It's important to note that I also used all of the recommended products throughout this process . Anyway, after the extensions faded the second time, I was told there was nothing more they could do for me and I would have to purchase all new hair and start over. Let me also add that Brittany charges $325 per hour for for installation, so "starting over" would be another $700 investment. This is when I decided to go to a different salon for a second opinion. And this is where things get interesting. The new salon I went to was willing to work with the hair that I already had so that I didn't need to buy new hair right away. And the new salon I'm going to only charges **$80** per row of hair for installation. I had two rows, so $160 was still a great price compared to Brittany. When I went to my new salon to have my extensions moved up, I was HORRIFIED at what they discovered. Brittany had installed my extensions SO TIGHTLY that it literally ripped my hair out of my scalp. I could not believe the amount of my hair falling to the ground as they combed through it. I lost at least half of my natural hair due to Brittany's careless installation. I literally sat in my chair at the new salon sobbing at the sight before me. My hair... just gone. I put my trust into Brittany to help me with something that made me insecure to begin with and now I'm left worse off than where I started. Something that was always my dream so quickly has become my worst nightmare. Oh, and it's important to add that I was seeing these little white hair follicles all along, but I thought it was part of the extensions themselves. It wasn't until today that I learned it was my natural hair follicles that had been yanked out of my scalp. Which means that when I went to Brittany to have to her put toner in the hair the first time, she also saw these follicles and neglected to do or say anything about them. Careless, negligent, money-oriented. That's all I have to say. If you're in the market for hair extensions, avoid Brittany at all costs. You're getting overcharged for careless service, and there are MUCH better salons in Coastal Virginia that actually care about YOU and not your money. I am so horrified at my experience and the physical damages done to my scalp/hair that I will pursue legal action. read more

This is a nice salon that offers many different services. I came here for a nail appointment which is not the specialty but I wanted to go somewhere nice. All of the staff here were nice but the nail area was unorganized and the girl doing my nails took forever to find the color I wanted in among the polishes. Although the staff was nice there wasn't much interaction with me and I didn't feel as welcome as I normally do at other salons in the area. read more

I had a very horrible experience at Brittany's Beauty Bar and after messaging them about how unhappy I was with my cut (the stylist cut my hair shorter than I asked and did not add layers). They offered to have me go back in to add layers which in turn would make my hair even shorter. I explained that I didn't want my hair any shorter and that the stylist lied and told me it wasn't short just "your hair is blow dried and curling in making it look short". Well my hair is in fact short. All they offered was for me to go back when I hair grew back to fix it then which doesn't fix the now. This is after I waited almost an hour past my appointment time, and was left in a chair with my wet hair dripping down my back. The stylist even admitted to me she was running behind and in a rush so she could leave for ocean city. I was then told to find a new salon and blocked. She stated I "berated her stylist", even though I never spoke directly to the stylist and I explained multiple times that she in fact cut my hair shorter then the picture I showed AND told her where I wanted my hair. Apparently I have to wait for my hair to grow back so they fix their mistake. That doesn't help the fact that my hair was butchered. Very unprofessional. I posted the messages to clearly show that I was not rude in any way and explained that layers would only make my hair shorter then it was. The stylist cut my hair beyond what was showed and asked and cutting it shorter to add layers or coming in when my hair grew back was not going fix the issue. I requested a full balayage and they gave me a cost estimate at my consultation. It was an estimate of $260. I would have thought that when paying $260, I would be getting what I want in one trip to the salon. Unfortunately, they told me I would have to come back and get another balayage for the same price in order to get what I want. It would have costed over $500 to get what I want. Outrageous! I contacted another salon in the area and they said they can give me what I want in one session for approximately $120. A RIP OFF! Everyone there is very nice but it is overpriced and it is overrated! Do not recommend! read more

I did my research before going here and i'm very glad I decided to go. Making an appt. was easy and not too far out. Krista was my stylist and she was very helpful and did fantastic work. I have had bad experiences in the past so I am quite anxious to go anywhere new. Fortunately, I wont have to worry about that for a long time because I feel like I have found a great place here. I liked that she listened to me, analyzed my willingness to style the cut before she cut and she gave me great tips. I've only been here once, but am definitely going back. My last hairstylist at a place in City Center THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED drastically messed up my color when I asked for rose gold, forcing me to box dye my hair twice in less than 24 hours. So, needless to say, when I sat in Jensen's chair a couple months later, my hair was a nasty, snarled mess. Jensen was THE SWEETEST! First, she knows how to cut fine hair. My style is so cute. She helped restore health to my hair and gave me tips on how to maintain that health. We then discussed how we should proceed in my color journey going forward. She also asked me questions about myself, and it felt super genuine and conversational, not forced at all. My last girl had a fake vibe about her, but Jensen was super complimentary and even gave me a hug goodbye! The place is super cute inside. Light, airy, and modern. When you pull up outside, you can tell it's an old 7-11, but don't let that fool you. It's a little on the pricier side, even for a jr. stylist, but you're paying for GOOD quality and GREAT customer service. I am refraining from giving 5 stars because I have only gone once and am excited to see what they do with my color in the future. read more

I had an appt for an eyelash lift. Sharon called me a week ago to schedule me for this service. I put in my calendar and had proof of the call in my call log. I am an hour away from This establishment but decided I'd make a day of it and work from that area... I rushed out the door to get there and the front door girl seemed confused that I was there since she said there was no record of me on the schedule. What an inconvenience! Sharon apparently didn't do her job and put me on the schedule that she called me about. when I mentioned her name to the front desk girl - well she seemed shocked and had a glare on her face- perhaps she was Sharon???? No idea. It was extremely rude to contact me for a service and schedule me and then go silent on the situation. So I left, I wasn't rude at all... I didn't run... they had my phone number and not a manger or an owner tried to call me to make it right. Good luck with your business! read more

I got my balayage and cut a this salon and wasted 240 dollars. I went home that day and looked over the balayage; I didn't like the balayage or the cut. I waited a day to see if it would grow on me but it didn't, so called the salon and made another appointment with the hair dresser. When I came for my appointment I told her some of the issues I had with my hair but she kind of rushed me through them, so I wasn't able to tell her all of them. After she rushed me, I was uncomfortable. She started to work on my hair and it turned out worse then what it was before. I didn't know how to react, so I lied to her and told her it looked good. I honestly just wanted her to stop touching my hair. When I left the salon I felt so self conscious about my hair and embarrassed. I went to Sally's and talked to someone who worked there and she didn't understand what she was attempting to do to my hair, it looked really bad. I put a semi permanent dye on my hair to try and mask the different colors and tones, it kind of worked. I talked to the owner to try and get a refund and she said they don't give refunds and that they aren't liable to fix my hair anymore because I colored it. I will not be recommending this salon to anyone. read more

I went to this salon as I loved the instagram photos. Made an appointment when my hair still looked good for a consultation after moving to the area and being 7 hours from my stylist. Went a few weeks later for my appointment. Felt uncomfortable in the beginning due to the conversation with the stylist who was telling me about how she was not full but had to still be at work. Hair came out poorly. I paid $155 plus tip hoping I could live with the results. They were awful and I was embarrassed by my hair. Emailed and got in with a different stylist about two weeks later. She brought the color up and added low lights but the tone did not come out well. She did her best and was super sweet. I ended up going to sally and purchasing a toner and toning my hair myself. Overall I paid well over $200 (tip included and product buying) for bad hair. read more

The salon is nice, the staff are nice and they truly do take care of you. My 3 stars is because I went in for highlights in June and asked Dallas to use Olaplex. I had worked 4 years at growing my hair out and didn't put anything on it. It came out fried. My ends snapped off and it was a frizzy mess. I know how Olaplex works and I can only assume that it wasn't mixed right, or they were cost cutting and not using the full amount needed. Its now October and I have finally given in to my frizzy mess can see my trims aren't going to cut it and this upcoming will be having it all cut of :( New state new look I guess Update. I found our that the 2nd step needed wasn't done. Stage 2 is to be put on hair and let sit for 5 - 10 minutes then rinsed. I was washed and conditioned after step one. read more

Got my hair done here a few years ago and never took the time to write a review. I went here to have my long, thick, frizzy, curly hair done with a Brazilian blowout and cut into a bob. Big mistake going to this place to have it done! Not only did they mess up my hair by giving me a mediocre haircut, the person who did the Brazilian blowout wasn't even certified to do it. Needless to say the blowout did ZERO for my hair and it was just as unruly as it was prior to having it done. The owner was the only one certified, but that's irrelevant if she isn't the one providing the service. I didn't find that out until after I paid more than $350 and complained about being dissatisfied with the outcome. Since then I have had the blowout done at another salon which turned out perfectly, and I only paid $150. This place is a ripoff. read more

Went in for an overdue change for my 16 year old. Friendly receptionist on phone, easy to book appt. Salon is beautiful. Everyone was hard at work and things were very clean and smelled fantastic. We brought Elizabeth a photo because the change was big. In all we were very pleased. I say the experience was 5 stars but the son says 4 because he would have liked another half to an inch of his hair left longer. We will return. read more

I have never in my life been treated this way by a salon. I was practically begging the receptionist to let me keep my appt because I was only 5mins away but told they have a late policy and therefore would not be able to do my service. I understand having a late policy but theirs seems ridiculous - I would've been maybe 15mins late. It blew my mind a salon would want to lose hundreds of dollars for a service that I'm rushing to get to and have the audacity to say I'll be charged a fee. I didn't reschedule and they can shove that fee up their ass because I'm never paying it. read more

This is a pretty salon, and everyone is fairly nice. My haircolor is awful!!! I had to go back twice to TRY to have it corrected. The owner Britney looked at it and scheduled a follow up with her to correct it. Will cost me more money since she is not the one who did the original color. I told the stylist to begin with that my hair pulls red. The first time I returned it it was past their allotted time. I still have orange hair! The worst color I've ever had in the 30+ years I've had hair color. It has cost me over $400 and still terrible and I'm going to another salon. For a basic trim & all over color I paid $160 (tip included.) I wanted to puke. It was just an ok job. Nothing outstanding. I don't plan on going here again. It's tough to find a place with stylists that excel with consistently good mens haircuts. Well, I've been fortunate enough to find a couple at Britney's. Elizabeth absolutely rocks! I've been a client of hers for well over a year, and will continue to be so. I will say that $30 for a 15 mens cut is pricey, but as long as Elizabeth is there, I'll keep coming back. Only one gripe: Britney's doesnt carry any reasonably priced hair products for men, like gel. Other than that, I highly recommend this place and specifically, Elizabeth. For my birthday my daughter and her grandfather surprised me with getting my hair done. I haven't found a place yet that I trust enough since the guy that used to do my hair got married and moved out of state. All I wanted was my dead ends cut and color. My hair went from middle of my back to at my shoulders . Last time I had my hair colored they stripped out my natural color, which is black to add the color I wanted. This was NOT done there? Then when I talked to my daughter she told me that they did call before hand and price went from a over the phone quote of $150 to $300? The color was way off from what I wanted, the color washed out really fast (not even a month) unlike when it was done right lasting 6months. I didn't have all over color just from about the middle of the back to the ends done. I felt very uncomfortable, I was offered a cup of coffee while having my hair done but took 25 to 30 mins so it was more like ice coffee. I thought because I only live maybe a mile from them, just maybe I found somewhere close to me I could get my hair, nails done but I don't think I would tell someone I don't like to go there. When I was in my 20's I was on a regular hair cut/color regimen. Like clockwork my roots were always fresh and my ends trimmed. That was 10-15 years ago... Brittany's was able to schedule me a same day appointment with a wonderful young lady named Brooke. It was, without a doubt, the best thing that had happened to me in a LONG time. Brooke and I started the process of transforming me into the bright frosty blonde I've always wanted to be. I've never gotten so many compliments about my hair. I've never loved a haircut and/or color as much as this. I am anxiously awaiting my next appointment with Brooke. The salon is always clean. The girls are classy and REAL.
