I'd been there a handful of times with Green Conshy Collaborative, and those were fun, but on those evenings, they just ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. Always enjoyed those, but this time, I went to eat an actual meal with friends. Our server was really friendly and attentive, kept an eye on us as she passed by, and gave some good recommendations from the menu. I ordered a Cubano sandwich that came with their homemade chips. The sandwich was really good, and I thought the chips were pretty good too. I get what other reviews say mentioning that they're a bit floppy, but I thought they were fine. Always on the lookout to try new places and the photos of The Great American Pub looked enticing enough so off we went. This place is huge with plenty of outdoor seating (with gliders) multiple dining rooms each with their own bar and a rooftop deck. Starting off strong. The brisket fries were tasty, cheesy and kept their shape even under the brisket. Things went downhill from tThe roast beef has good flavor but was not served as hot as we would have liked. Our waitress did not come back around until after we had eaten so the opportunity to try and get it remedied did not present itself. My burger was good enough but not juicy or flavorful. Just a basic bar burger. Sandwiches come with house made chips which usually are my favorite, sadly these chips were rubbery, stale, and dull. If you're not going to include fries with your sandwiches make sure your chips are edible. The rooftop offers a different limited menu that offers a few of the same items the dining rooms have with some different "lighter" additions. We will try and come back when it's cooler to check it out. What we enjoyed about our experience: - we were seated quickly - the servers were attentive - once we ordered, our food came out very quickly, within 10 minutes - the food was flavorful, great porition, fresh, and delicious. - my other half had a old fashion, which he enjoyed -portion The only area for improvement was the deserts, we got the peach cobbler which was very tart and we also got the chocolate lava cake, the cake was overcooked....dense filling, no lava. I come here fairly often to see the radio show on Monday that happens here. So I've had several things on the menu. Generally I like the food. Tonight I had lemon pepper wings and buffalo fried cauliflower that both hit the mark really well. In the past I've had the pizza, turkey sandwich, hot dog, and those have been decent. It's not always the best, often it's just good enough. I'd say I tend to like the pizza the most. They have a decent selection there. Service has always been excellent. The atmosphere is a pretty good pub style place. It doesn't wow me. But it doesn't have to. Sometimes good enough is good enough. read more

Morgan the server, was great and attentive but their bartender Liz definitely needs a refresher course in her bartending skills and people skills too. Beautiful and large inside with lots of different areas for small and large parties. However, did not enjoy the lunch a I ordered (buffalo wings and the brisket tacos). Both were too dry. Wings were over cooked and and hard to bite into. The tacos did have a lot of taste and again too dry. Suggest to include salsa or some other sauce on the side. Came back to the GAP for a quick Friday dinner. Sat inside on the lower level. It's your normal pub. Sticky tables, okay cocktail menu, and good food selection. What we snagged: -Cheesesteak egg rolls. Always good. Can't go wrong with these guys. -Prime Rib special. Not good. Flavorless, and dry. Overheard it was the "last prime rib." Thinking I got lucky, maybe not. Maybe it was old meat. Who knows. -Brisket Tacos. Plentiful and good tasting-ish. Again, lacked flavor. Server was nice. Nothing wrong there. We had dinner and drinks at the Great American Pub and were really enjoying ourselves. My boyfriend paid the bill and decided to order another scotch while I stepped out to get my Uber and pick up my daughter. He even told the bartender he'd be right back after walking me out, and she acknowledged it. To our shock, as soon as he stepped outside, the staff grabbed him and accused him of walking out on the bill. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and honestly ruined what had been a wonderful night. The tab had already been settled -- and instead of handling it calmly, they poured out his drink and treated him terribly. I rarely write negative reviews, but this situation was handled so poorly that I felt it needed to be shared. The rooftop bar/restaurant atmosphere was really great and the weather was perfect. Unfortunately, the food was not good. I requested the soy glaze for the sauce on the side, yet it brought drenched in it. The wings were dry even though they were baptized in hot sauce. I noted a discrepancy between what we were charged and the price on the menu. We were told there was not a manager on the rooftop, only downstairs. I'm baffled at the prices considering the disappointing menu and food. I'm even more baffled that it seemed I was asking too much to expect a manager be called to correct the check. Sat at the bar for a late lunch and had to wait ten minutes for a bartender. She was outside having a smoke. Ordered crab soup and a french dip with fries. Soup was very salty and the french dip sandwich was extremely dry. She forgot to substitute the chips with fries, which was disappointing since it probably would have been the best part of the meal. Told her the sandwich was dry and got no response-just a check, a half eaten meal, and a very disappointing visit that won't happen again. read more

Came here with friends and it's a solid 3 1/2 stars (when will Yelp implement a 1/2 star system?). But I rounded down as Great American Pub was nothing extraordinary to write about. After my friends and I squeezed through the very long gauntlet of 20-something's at the bar area, we were seated quickly for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Two beers and an ok margarita along with some fried pickles got us started. The fried pickles came with bleu cheese and I think a cocktail sauce that was spicy. They were fried nicely and not too flimsy. I ended up eating most of those. For our mains, my one friend went with chili fries, other friend had a Cobb burger, and I went with mushroom and Swiss burger. My burger came out medium well instead of rare, but was a good size with enough cheese and mushrooms to make it a mouthful. The homemade chips were too salty for me. The spread that came with the burger I did not like at all. My friend's burger came with guacamole which she really liked and said she'd have to remember for next time. It was to her temperature liking and her chips were good, too. My other friend inhaled his fully covered chili fries so you know he enjoyed them. We each got another drink but this time I went with a blended cider which had the consistency of a thick, cannot see through, apple juice. Tasty, but would have liked more cinnamon flavor in it. Friends had more beers. As we left, I realized this facility is much larger than I would have expected. There's an upstairs and I'm told a roof deck. I could see this in the really nice weather being a pretty cool place to hang with your buds. About $100 not including tip for two appetizers, two entrees, four beers and two drinks. I won't even lie we didn't have great expectations of bar food, it was a long day and we were hungry but the chicken fingers with honey mustard were on point and the pesto, roasted red pepper, mozzarella sandwich with the turkey burger swapped out with a chicken breast was very good. The bartender at the Fayette location tried scam me and my friends, the entire bill was on my card, before I asked for the bill, a friend of mine asked for another round but paid in cash. At this same time I asked for the bill knowing we would leave. I then got a charge for the exact amount my friend paid in cash on my credit card, on top of what we had ordered. I then adked her to adjust my bill to refelct the charge she had added, even though my friend paid in cash. At this point she started shouting at me and my friends. Great American Pub needs to hire new security and staff for closing shift because the system currently in place is horrible. This experience has happened multiple weeks in a row. The "security" will walk around telling customers within the bar areas that they are closing in 5 minutes. Let me make this clear that this is to the people sitting at tables and standing in the open bar area, not the people ordering drinks or standing at the bar. As soon as I finished paying for a round of drinks for me and my friends, we were forced to leave the second the security guards were pushing people out the door. Why was the bar still serving drinks if the entire place was closing within 5 minutes? Why was there no last call if the security was making it seem to all people within the establishment that it was urgent to leave, even tho it was 1:30? Why would you be serving and selling alcoholic beverages if you are forcing people to leave and arguing back with them when they explain that they just payed and purchased several drinks? Not only were we verbally told and argued with to leave with a full beverage in our hand, we were physically led to the exit to leave the premises after paying full price & tip for a round of drinks. After my experience tonight and the rude behavior and attitude I received from all of the security and bar staff, I will not be returning anytime soon. As a young local new to the area, this is a sad experience where the employees at the establishment simply don't care about their customers. However, my friend decided to celebrate her birthday here and I wanted to checkout the rooftop bar, so we gave it another shot. The rooftop bar is really nice. I liked the couches and lounge chairs and the view was really cool. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I like that they offered some different types of mixed drinks. Unfortunately a couple of my drinks tasted watered down and more like club soda than anything, and they were pricey. There wasn't even supposed to be any club soda in the drink according to the menu, it was supposed to be lemon lime soda. Maybe it was either flat or they ran out and did use club soda. My last drink, the blueberry margarita was pretty decent though. We ordered some food. Everything was basically appetizers/small plates on the rooftop. $14 for 3 tacos, and I think $9 for 3 cheesesteak spring rolls. They cut the spring rolls in half to make it 6 half's to look like there was more there. They were good but too pricey. We did have a fun night and I liked the rooftop atmosphere. I would like to see it at night in the dark with the string lights. If we come back we would probably hang out at the bar and stick to beer. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting GAP a few weeks ago on a Saturday. I was skeptical about the atmosphere but I have to say I was 70% pleased with the establishment. The 30% of dissatisfaction comes from the bartenders who are selective and rude , (don't know if they purposely ignore AA patrons to wait on CC ppl 1st, but that definitely happened several times that night) the music was great , DJ Smoove had video lined up with his mic and the security was pleasantly helpful and friendly. Felt very safe in the club. Would return for the fun atmosphere professional security and the great DJ . The Bartenders need customer service classes. read more

Many times I agree with the overall stars. With this restaurant, I am fairly far apart. We came here before playing in the FC Delco Soccer tournament and I am throwing the pub 5 stars. The atmosphere is phenomenal, really captured the old pub feel. The staff was also attentive. The five stars comes from the sandwich that I had. The salmon cheese steak may have been one of the best sandwiches that I have had. My wife had a Philly cheese steak, which was good, but the salmon one was fantastic!!! We rode our bikes here and wanted to sit outside to get lunch. Easy bike parking on the corner. We asked to sit outside and the hostess told us we should go sit on the roof deck. Deck was great!! Wonderful views and much hotter than down below. Menu was very limited - we planned to get burgers or sandwiches. We didn't know until we went downstairs after eating and saw other people w burgers that the menu wasn't the same on the deck as the rest of the restaurant - so it would have been nice if they told us that before we sat down. LUKE. THE MUSIC. THE VIBES. I am going to shout out Luke first because he was thee bomb.com! It was busy on a Friday night, but Luke was on point. Luke was attentive, quick, and hardworking. I was surprised when Luke told us that it was only his third day there because wow! Since this pub is in Conshohocken and it wasn't too diverse, I was surprised by the music. The rooftop played amazing rap/r&b oldies and hits from today. I was shocked when I heard it, but I was so happy! It made the night a lot more fun! How many times have I been here? I have no idea... How many times have I actually wanted to come here? Once? Food is alright. Beers are decent... Crowds are horrible. I just don't think there is anything special about this place to make me want to come here. People from the area have bridal showers, baby showers, shower showers here and I've drank at the bar. Surprisingly, those are my favorite memories about this place... I still know too many people who want to go here, because it's the place to go. Not because it's good... I've been here a few times for dinner, a few times for lunch and I think two times on a night out. I really have no complaints, except a lot of people in my circle refuse to come here. Not sure what that is about. Food isn't bad, drinks aren't bad. We were here for dinner last week and we had a reservation and had a little bit of a wait but I think that's because there was a surprise 40th birthday in the main room so seating was limited.
