Saw this place on the way to the movie theater. Came after my movie was over. The service was excellent. The wine was great. Nice little spot to grab a quick drink.

Prosecco is always a good idea

love this wine bar, my go to after a long day at work. the service is second to none. The ambiance is great with their open floor mat, you have a great view of the fountain. not to mention their carnitas tacos are the best in town !

Who doesn't love a walk up window for a wine bar! I didn't spend a lot of time looking at the menu, but there seemed to be a lot of option for glass pours, and some food available. The california Rose I got was crisp and clean. And lots of outdoor seating by the fountain at the Veranda. we picked up some takeout food nearby and sat to enjoy the wine. the gentlemen helping was very helpful. I will be back!

Vaccine needed to sit inside and drink or if no vaccine order from the window Awesome alternative!!!

Such a cute little wine bar! Been here a few times now and I'm so happy that this spot is nearby to satisfy my wine cravings. I'm a huge fan of their Walnut Creek location and I was so thrilled when I found out that they had opened this location in the Veranda. Finally got around to stopping by and all I can say is; 'Tis BOMBSY!!! Me likey, me likey a lot! I've only visited during COVID and the inside of the bar is off limits. Their outdoor patio is open for first come/first serve seating. You order at the bar and they'll call your name when everything is ready. Considering the circumstances, I think that they've been doing a really wonderful job. Usually when I've come here, it has just been a two person operation. The line is usually pretty long, especially on a Friday or weekend night. But they do the best that they can to accommodate everyone and to clean in between the breaks in the lines. Their patio is so stinkin' cute! It's situated right smack dab in the middle of the Veranda, so you'll have a wonderful view of the water works show and all of the people watching that your little heart could ever desire. For the most part, the tables are spaced out farther than 6 feet. I love that they have the water misters when it's hot out. I will say that there were some people walking around without masks on. But if you're familiar with the Veranda setup, that's kind of hard to control since it's a big shopping center with people walking around left and right. The wine selection is actually pretty nice. You can order by the glass or bottle, and they also have lots of beer on tap if you're feeling a little hoppy. The wine and beer menu changes from time to time, but I always manage to find something that I like. They've also got some delicious light bites. My absolute favorite one to get is the Cowgirl Creamy Fromage Blanc. I used to order this faithfully at their Walnut Creek location, but now I've been getting it here. With the honey and those crackers?! It's so damn good. The wine pours are always generous and the people working here are always so kind and full of great recommendations. They'll let you sample the wine before purchasing. It's definitely a fun little local hangout spot. I'm excited to see what this place will be like post-COVID restrictions (whenever the hell that will be).

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and Alexander gave us the right kind of wine for my tasting. Thank you for the hospitality!

For the space they have, RS did an amazing job with this location! Came in a Friday afternoon and ordered the 5x5 flight and some beer and wine. The inside seating area is a little small but nice and cozy. My group of five ended up sitting at the tables outside near the space heaters and we were just fine. Thank goodness for the space heaters though. Everything we ordered was great, we devoured the flight and left very satisfied. The service was exceptional as well, very friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Happy hour is M-F 3-6pm I believe and all beers are $5! Good for small groups, nice location, and beautiful interior. I would definitely love to come back to try more menu options.

Great spot to chill and have a nice glass of wine, or more! Plenty of wine options to choose from and also beers. My friends and I had a very nice time in their outdoor patio, also perfectly located in the veranda.

The wine was delicious as always however this is our first time back since moving back to the area. It was sad to pay as much as we did to get handed our "bar bite" foods in to go boxes with plastic cutlery. We expected to pay over $100 for it all for two people but you would think you would get a plated presentation of a cheeseboard and such on actual dining plates or platters. But no. The wine was good but they need to not serve the expensive bar bites in to go paper boxes.

The entire collection of wine was exposed to heat and ruined but they are still selling it to unknowing customers. Many of the wines that I inspected had corks bulging out past the foil and were discolored. The Syrah I picked and thought was safe looked good but under the foil, the cork was bad and yes the wine was rancid. I wish that was just a side story but the glass of wine I purchased was also foul. It was the most expensive Napa Cab they serve. I asked a few times how long the bottle was open and he did not know but guessed maybe a night or two before. This tells me a few things; they are not keeping wine fresh or pumping out the air or using a Coravin system for example. They are not writing the date opened even. Also in my personal opinion, the wines here are the lower tier to keep pricing down and profits high. It just makes the experience low for the customer. Lastly I did have a cheese plate and it was also terrible. The staff have no knowledge of wine. So it just ends up being a happy hour place for people to drink cheap wine. I'm sorry for the former failed business and appreciate trying to take it over but the business model is not working. It's not worthy of business woman of the year unfortunately. Lesson learned: Californians know wine!

I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

When we first arrived we were seated right away and given waters immediately by our lovely host, after being seating it took 15 minutes for our waiter to even look at us and when she did she said "Do you know what you want to drink?", this was our first interaction. It took about 20 minutes to receive our wine and when she brought it to us she never let us taste the wine before pouring it, which I have never experienced at any other winery. After leaving it took an extra 10 minutes to receive our order of French fries, luckily the water machine was right next to us so whenever we needed a refill we could just get up and get it ourselves! We almost asked them to not even bring out the bread because it had been 45 minutes after ordering before it came to our table. I think we would have been more understanding if it was a busy night but it was the complete opposite. I could have driven all the way to Napa, been served, eaten a full meal, then home with my teeth brushed in bed by 8, but instead I'm at Shadowbrook waiting for my bread. Overall the food was great, the wine was excellent but the service was absolutely horrific! We felt overlooked and unwelcome from the start. Our server barely acknowledged us and gave the impression that we weren't worth her time while serving others next to us with enthusiasm. The missed ones are usually due to slower service but still okay versus other restaurants I had been to. Yesterday we were here again and the service was fantastic! Our server, Anthony, was very personable. He is obviously genuinely nice because he showed the same kind of energy across the tables he attended to. We asked him about specific details of the menu and he obviously knew the menu by heart. We ordered the chicken nachos, among others, and we enjoyed it better this time because we were able to "customize" it to our liking because he was able to enumerate to us the ingredients so we were able to exclude those we didn't like. The temperature inside was very refreshing coming from the high heat outside.

SLOW SERVICE, FOCUS FOOD…read more On Memorial Day after my nieces' play in Pittsburg we came to Yard House for dinner. I had been craving for a burger. On the menu one burger intrigued me - Kurobuta pork. I never had a pork burger before. The ingredients that sounded enticing were the spicy candied bacon and blueberry ketchup. I've had bacon on a regular burger before but not on pork burger. I also never had blueberry ketchup before. When eating dinner at a restaurant on a holiday you can expect a considerable time as the restaurant can be really busy. There were a lot of customers when my family entered Yard House. As we were waiting for our food there were empty tables. Since there were less customers we expected our food to arrive quicker. We estimated the wait for our food was about 45 minutes after our order. If you are waiting for a considerable time, the food better be exceptional. I enjoyed the Kurobuta pork burger. Having the bacon with the Kurobuta added more pork flavor. The blueberry ketchup provided a sweetness to balance the richness of the Kurobuta pork and bacon. I didn't like the house fries that came were the pork burger as they were soggy. I have two pet peeves when it comes to fried items: 1) overcooked chicken wings 2) soggy fries. The rest of my family had issues with their dishes. My mom stated there were not enough sirloin on her steak bowl she ordered. My dad said there were not enough grilled chicken from the fettucine alfredo. As mentioned before when your food arrives longer than you anticipate the attention will be if the item you order is great. What saved this rating from a 2-star experience was the Kurobuta pork burger.
