Had an unexpected stay in Phoenix due to wife's incoming flight cancellation. It was 8:00 pm and I was very hungry. Used Google Maps to find close location to eat. Brix was a 2-minute drive so Brix it is. It's a sports bar restaurant inside another hotel property. High tech sterile environment with a few widescreens tuned to sporting contests. Caught the end of WC match Mexico v. England. Staff were a wee bit cold and inattentive at first (probably because I looked homeless as I was doing an airport pick up and straight home) best laid plans and all that. Well, my good manners brought the staff around and they warmed up. I ordered the steak and gravy entree medium rare. Oh My God! The New York Strip was PERFECT. The mushroom-onion gravy was delicious. The roasted carrots delicious. The potato mash creamy, and yes, delicious. Broccolini was a miss for me I didn't like its bitterness, some do. Next time I order I will request a more carrots substitution. I literally can't wait to go back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the food--the dishes were flavorful, well presented, and made with quality ingredients. I honestly didn't expect a hotel restaurant to be this good, but every meal was enjoyable. This review is for our server, Danasia, she was amazing! Place was packed and she did not miss a beat! The margaritas she made were perfection! She also recommended the cheesecake which was delish! Note to kitchen - Nachos we ordered were pretty bad, Chicken was rubber. Cheese tasted off. We did appreciate the amazing serving of guac and sour cream. Work on freshness of ingredients! Took a chance on this place on a Friday night after searching for somewhere near the Phoenix Rising stadium to grab some food before heading to the game. It's basically in the lobby of the Doubletree and has that feel. The service was great! Everyone was very nice, friendly, and attentive. The beer was cold and delicious. I was looking for something a little lighter so I ordered the club sandwich and it came with fries. The fries were delicious. The sandwich was a little difficult to eat, but that's to be expected I guess when it's a "triple decker" club. The prices are also really high, but overall it was all pretty good. read more

I don't know if I can recommend this place. I read the other reviews but went in with a positive attitude. The food just left a lot to be desired. I had an excellent server. I was the only table there at first. I wanted the salmon. I love salmon and this place almost single handedly has made me never want it again. My first piece of salmon was huge and quite thick. It came out very fast...well it came out fast because it wasn't cooked all the way. I lost my appetite pretty much after that. My second piece was thinner and it was very peppery...I still have it in my mouth and I've used the rest room, taken a little walk and I'm sitting by the fountains at the hotel writing this. One of the specials had fingerling potatoes so I asked for those to be substituted for the vegetables. They were salty and very hot but those didn't seem cooked throughly either. I didn't care for those. The rice was dismal as well. I hated it. I don't know if it was me or the rice. It's was kind of crusty or maybe also overcooked. I wasn't a fan. When the server asked if everything was go my liking, I just said yes. I really didn't know what else he or the chef could do at that point. My meal was WAY OVERPRICED at $30.00. It was just disastrous. I would caution anyone to eat here. The cost doesn't justify the taste. read more

We stayed at the Doubletree Hilton and this is the restaurant adjacent to the lobby. We really enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance was cool. Our waiter, Anthony, was great. Highlights for us were the calamari and shrimp appetizer- perfectly crispy and spicy, and the Sonora steak salad was delicious, with lots of tender steak and plenty tasty of lime vinaigrette. The Korean short ribs were pretty good, just a little too saucy/sweet for our taste. read more

Yelp removed my post so I'm uploading again. My family (who are black) stayed at the hotel in 04/2023 and I will say that the hotel in general was a good experience. unfortunately towards the last day of staying in the hotel my wife and our son wanted to enjoy some lunch in the restaurant BRIX Kitchen+Cocktails. My son has a egg and peanut allergy so he couldn't eat inside by my wife could so we brought him a snack to eat inside. My wife sat down with our son and a male manager told her that he can't eat that inside the restaurant and to leave. My wife tried to explain that he can't eat the food in the restaurant because of his allergy and the manager aggressively repeated his statement again to leave. At this time I'm not in the immediate area but I could hear what was happen so when I walk into the restaurant and confronted the manager his entire mood change. He didn't realize that I was with them and he walks away when I made the exact statement about my child. read more

Limited and super expensive for menu items. Ordinary food served in a hotel restaurant charges 5 times the average price. A cup of overnight oats and sliced 1/2 banana is $15, and a cup of yogurt with a tsp of granola, 10 blueberries, and a few slightly roped melon pieces is also $15. Even with the $15 Hilton Gold member food voucher, you still shell out another 5 bucks for tax and tip. The place is so understaffed, the only wait staff in the morning was frantic! We had a LONG day working and trying to catch an early flight, so we didn't get into the hotel until this spot was about to close. We were SO excited that it had a restaurant attached so we ran over to try and grab a drink. The bartender was SO accommodating and even warned us when he was closing up so we could get a second! He was super nice, had great conversation, and it was a great experience. Granted, we were one of two guests there so he could give us his attention, but regardless, it was a nice surprise after a long day. We didn't order food (nor do I think we could have) so this is really just a review for the service - but they had plenty of great drink options, cocktails that are very nice, tons of beer and wine options, and I would definitely come back if I stayed here again. read more

Was staying at the Hilton and this was a very nice establishment. Restaurant was clean and welcoming. We were not very hungry going into the restaurant, but wanted to try some of the samplers. Honestly their menu was not that diverse. We got the brussels sprouts and chips and salsa. The brussels sprouts were very tasty and had bacon and roasted garlic in them. The chips and salsa were laughable at best. The portion of salsa was in a tiny dish and was very flavorless. There were not that many chips as well. To me, its not very hard to make a good salsa. We tried a couple of the local drafts and they were very good. The service was just sad, the waitress barely smiled and it almost seemed liked we were annoying her. I know the workforce is somewhat lacking as of late, but you should be hiring for good talent. read more

Miss the wings that used to be here. I was looking forward to them. I was expecting a larger menu considering it's a doubletree. Food was ok, wasn't wowed like a normal doubletree , expectations not met. I was cold, temperature wise. Ambiance....austere? Very over priced for the food you get and they add a to-go fee of 18% and you have to pick it up yourself and eat out of a cardboard box. The pineapple upside down cake, The scoop of ice cream was basically two little tiny spoonfuls of ice cream on a store-bought round piece of cake that probably cost $.25 and the smallest piece of pineapple that they could possibly find. The breakfast had two small pieces of burnt white toast. The potatoes and the bacon looked like it was just dumped in the deep fryer. Two thumbs down, I recommend you go anywhere else. Wow! What a nice surprise. Staying at the double tree hotel near the airport, which btw has a free shuttle. Anyway, had dinner at the hotel, and wasn't expecting much but it was convenient, place was attractive, sports bar, excellent menu, lots of vegetarian choices, service was very good and friendly. Mac and cheese was excellent, as was the impossible meatballs and the avocado toast! Dinner was not a compromise at this hotel. Many people were sitting at the bar. This place is a hidden gem that is conveniently connected to the Double Tree Hotel. My Hilton Honors hotel credit covered my breakfast and I thought it was a very delicious breakfast consisting of chocolate chip pancakes. I also ended up coming back for dinner and truly enjoyed it. The place just opened at 5pm and it wasn't very full, the staff was very helpful and friendly, one of the best experiences I've had in a restaurant. For dinner I ordered a Ribeye Steak and it was delicious! More convenient was that after the meal my hotel room was just steps away and I was happy to enjoy my rest right after that delicious meal. I'm not sure if it is because they are understaffed or what, but both for my dinner last night and my breakfast this morning I had to ask for napkin and silverware AFTER my food was served. You'd think this would be one of the FIRST things a server would serve. It wasn't just one server it was two different. The restaurant was a little hard to find, but depending on what side of the hotel you're coming in from, it can be a long walk around a rather confusing property to get to. The decor is clean and bright colors. The bar is impressively lit and the bartenders knew their cocktails and were able to make many of the classics and traditional cocktails. The food here was lacking. Not really flavorful or impressive in any way, and definitely not worth the prices charged. Service is worth mentioning as a high point. The servers were attentive and rapidly took orders, brought food, and brought the check. But overall, there are many better choices in the area than this restaurant. read more

The service at the bar was excellent, and carnitas sandwich plus shishito peppers didn't disappoint. Skip this place until they bring back the craft cocktails -- and retrain the bartender "Geary" who admits that they are "down to the basics." Even with 16 yrs at Brix he did not know how to mix a classic Gimlet and had to refer to his 25 yr old rolodex! When we asked him how he kept up, he replied "I don't!" And this was evident in the terrible drinks that we left half full at the bar. The Lemon Drop was the worst ever and seemed to have cheap spirits.. that may have even been watered down!
