    Lounge Bar

Here for 3 weeks and I have to say I love the vibe at this lounge. It's super chill. Kathy and I believe Eric (?) were so nice and attentive. This is the only lounge from what I hear that serves food in the area till 10pm. It can get pretty busy during the day from what I've seen and because of covid they seemed to be understaffed at this hotel but They make up for that with great customer service ! Definitely check this place out!

Ok but what fun and cute place that is filled with bird wildlife? How fun! We enjoyed the portion sizes to our meal (as pictured), everything was very tasty and well seasoned. My favorite part was the overall vibe, and enjoyed seeing all the birds/parrots throughout the restaurant.

Perch was a huge surprise! Judging by the hotel it's situated in, I wasn't expecting much but my mushroom swiss burger was DELICIOUS! meat quality was great, I was asked how I wanted it cooked and they actually listened to me when I said medium rare. Mushrooms were extra garlic and the garlic aïoli was the perfect compliment to a well built burger. Extra points for the delicious fries as well. the bar and restaurant are small and intimate, so not the best environment for large groups. And the bartenders and servers are friendly as can be. Only knock on this spot is that it has a view of a very outdated hotel. I see some folks complaining about a small and limited menu but I'll take small and limited if it's delicious over many options done wrong. Seriously almost 5 stars!

We'd been here before to grab a couple drinks and check out the ambience and the birds and loved the vibe. We decided to come here last night for dinner and it did not disappoint. There is a full menu downstairs and bar/seating. The upstairs is 21+ and has a full bar and food truck with a smaller menu. We sat at the bar downstairs and the service was fast and friendly. The cocktails were strong and tasty. The crispy Brussels were TO DIE FOR +had goat cheese, pomegranate seeds, and pumpkin seeds. I would eat this dish every day if I could! My honey had the cheddar burger and our friend got the prime dip and they both loved their meals.

My husband surprised me with Avril Lavigne and MGK tickets, and we figured this would be a great place to park our car, have dinner and catch the light rail to the concert and it was a GREAT idea and worked out wonderfully. I had the Brazilian margarita, which she referred to as similar to a passion fruit margarita and I definitely had NO complaints. It was the perfect amount of booze to flavor. The hot wings for an appetizer, was delicious. Crispy, which is exactly how we prefer them and good portion. The steak dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus were the BOMB, hahaha. The steak was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of seasoning. For an airport hotel, this dinner was unexpectedly scrumptious. Husband had the alfredo which he did ask for his cayenne, which because we were going to a concert, I didn't have my purse, so he was a little sad but he said the Alfredo, itself was good, he just wanted to add a spicy kick. The tiramisu we got for dessert... honestly, I could've gone without. Obviously I know the tiramisu would come from a box, I just didn't think that it would taste like it. The raspberries helped a little, added some tart sweetness to it, but I couldn't take more than 3 bites. Bathrooms are amazing and clean. Staff is nice and helpful. Wouldn't mind coming back.

Stuck in Phoenix due to a cancellation. Stayed at the Hilton North.., bar/restaurant was closed... Christmas Day... walked over to The Crown because the lounge/restaurant was open. Excellent street tacos, service & location.

But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.

The atmosphere was unique, the bartenders were genuinely engaging, and there was a real sense of community that made every visit memorable. It became my go-to spot to bring friends from out of town and every single person I brought absolutely loved it! Back then, the cocktails felt intentional and creative, not just rushed out for volume. The staff remembered regulars, conversations flowed naturally, and the whole place had this warm, eclectic energy that made you want to stay for hours. Even on busy nights, it somehow still felt personal. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, the vibe has changed quite a bit. The drinks just aren't as consistently good as they used to be, especially considering the prices now. Service feels far more transactional and impersonal, and the atmosphere that once made this place stand out has faded into something much more generic. It feels less like a neighborhood gem and more like a stop on a nightlife circuit.

Carry On actually called me to confirm our "tickets," which I thought was really cute. The whole experience kind of started a couple of days before our actual "departure time." They also reminded us to park in the Renaissance Square parking garage under Wren & Wolf, and they were able to validate our parking for three hours. We had to go to Wren & Wolf first to pick up our Carry On tickets. We got there early, and they let us relax in their couch area while we waited for our departure time. The walk from the Renaissance Square parking garage to Wren & Wolf was easy. You just follow the signs, and the whole walk is inside the building, which was perfect because it was so hot outside. While we were waiting, we could order drinks and chill, just like being in an airport lounge. When it was time for departure, we walked outside the building, and Carry On was right around the corner. You won't miss it because you'll see the Carry On Air flight schedule above the gate door. Right on time, we were greeted by a friendly flight attendant. Once we walked into the cabin, it really felt like we were inside a first-class flight lounge. Our flight attendant served us drinks right after we sat down, and we also ordered more cocktails and snacks from their menu. The captain spoke to us over the speaker, just like on a real flight. As we took off, we could even feel the seats moving. Looking out the "window," we saw buildings, clouds surrounding us, and even experienced turbulence I'm not going to tell you too much because I don't want to ruin the experience. I'll let you try it for yourself. I think it's definitely worth giving it a try. At least for us, we loved it.

That's why we kept coming back, we visited over 20 times because we genuinely liked the place. Unfortunately, over time the experience changed. As the staff changed, so did the level of customer service. The consistency just wasn't there. Some visits were enjoyable, while others felt disorganized, and the staff sometimes came across as argumentative rather than customer-focused. The visit that ended it for us involved a new server who insisted we leave a credit card to keep on file. In more than 20 previous visits, we had never once been asked to do that. We politely explained that this had never been the policy during any of our prior visits and declined. After that conversation, the server essentially stopped serving us. She ignored our table, relied on other employees to assist us, and even made us wait to pay because she refused to help. It made us feel unwelcome and as though our business no longer mattered. We understand that businesses can update their policies, but those changes should be communicated respectfully and enforced consistently. If the policy had truly changed, a simple explanation would have gone a long way. Instead, we were treated differently because we asked questions. It's unfortunate because we really enjoyed this place in the beginning. However, one negative experience can outweigh many positive ones, especially when it leaves you feeling unwelcome. We won't be returning, and we hope management takes customer service and consistency seriously so future guests have a better experience.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars
