Avoid this place if you are searching for a reliable, open establishment. This is my 5th time trying to visit this place with a gift card I ordered 2 years ago. I call beforehand, look online, check their socials, and still they randomly are never open. I'm starting to wonder if it is a scam, and hope to get a refund on the giftcard I ordered for my dad and I. I understand things happen with being a family run operation, but frankly it comes off as unorganized & unprofessional. Other vendors and small business owners could be using this space in Michigan City, and it is rather a waste when others could be supporting the community on a more frequent, dependable basis. Please offer more transparency on this lack of consistency & remove the listed "business hours" entirely from both your website and Google maps when they are fairly often not honored. Wanted to support local and regret it due to the flexibility in their standard operating hours. For the goodness of your brand, and just state your hours are "open when we feel like it". They're never open. At one point they told me they didn't want "local" business only Illinois people. Food used to be great but they don't even cook there anymore. My friend and I found ourselves in Michigan City, Indiana and stumbled upon Brix Tasting Room while looking for things to do. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wine selection. We both did two flights of wine- we found that one just wasn't enough haha. It was a fun Saturday afternoon activity for us to sit on the patio- shaded by umbrella- and drinking wine while catching up! I was happy to see their vast selection of sweet wines, as I prefer sweet over dry. Brix also had a food menu with a variety of snacks and full size meal items. We did not order food as we had just eaten lunch before and was just there for the wine, but the charcuterie board was catching my eye! Stopped in at Brix after shopping at the Outlet Mall. What a delightful surprise. I had a glass of White Bordeaux and a glass of Pinot Noir. Bothwere delicious. The charcuterie board we ordered was more than enough for 4 people. there were only two of us. The owner waited on us. He was very friendly and knew his wines. it was a delightful experience and we will be back. Hooray for downtown Michigan City to have a place of this caliber! read more

What an awesome find! My boyfriend and I were in Michigan City for a long weekend and tried to stop at a winery but didn't have a reservation and the waitlist to get in the door was over an hour. We found Brix on Yelp and I'm SO happy we did. Tyler and Tamra were extremely friendly and accommodating. We felt welcomed and like we were among new friends. The wine selection is unbelievable. If we hadn't just ate, we would have tried their food menu too. Everything looked and smelled delicious. My only regret was finding Brix on our last full day. What a GREAT FIND! My bestfriend and I stumbled upod this place after shopping in Michigan City, mainly because it was the only winery open until 7pm on a sunday. We went in for a wine tasting and was immediately greeted like family in there. Tyler, one of the owners, felt us out by having us try different wines and then fine tuned our next selection based on our reactions. Very cool and warm experience as most wineries you circle 5 wines that you want to try from a piece of paper and there's not much conversation about it from the pourer. We came in close to closing time however they were in absolutely no rush to close up shop. I believe we didn't end up leaving until 745 ish and there were still 2 tables enjoying wine. I definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to come back to try their food as well! read more

They offer a huge selection for tasting and food is excellent. So different than the other winery tasting rooms in the area. We now make Brix a regular stop when in DTMC. I came to this business with a large group for a bachelorette party. We attempted to make a reservation in advanced but were told we could not. Then when we showed up, they were nearly empty and refused us service because we "didn't make a reservation". There were two employees who rudely argued with us about the information we were provided by their own team. Terrible customer service, would not recommend. read more

Husband and wife owners are very personable and knowledgeable in great wines at an affordable price. Food offering is awesome- flatbreads, salads etc. Open year round. We stumbled upon this place after a little shopping at the outlet mall. We were greeted and welcomed upon entry and given a rundown on how the place worked. The space is very nicely decorated and perfectly lit. We grabbed a booth in the corner. I'm not much of a wine drinker so I slipped into my comfort zone and ordered a brew from a local brewery. We ordered the bruschetta to start and the meat pizza for our dinner. I was really impressed with the bruschetta. It was almost too pretty to eat...but I'm glad we did. It was amazing. The pizza came out and it was piping hot and tasty. After looking at the wine list I decided to have some wine. I explained to the gentleman that I remember having an Argentine red wine that I really enjoyed at a friends party. He told me a little about Argentine wine and made a recommendation. He came back with it and poured a little to taste. My wife and I both tasted it and it was really good so we each ordered a glass. It was amazing. We finished our dinner and had the rest of our pizza packed up. I would have loved to stay for another glass of wine, but we had tickets to a movie. We even got a tip on the best way to reheat our pizza. The place got real full but it didn't seem loud or crowded. Reminded me of a dinner party. It was a real nice vibe. I only saw two people working but never felt neglected by our hosts. I really appreciated how easy the gentleman made it for my wine selection. My wife and I chose Brix Tasting Room for our date night. WOW! It was absolutely amazing! The wine selection was superb. The food, the food!! We started with the Bruschetta and Brie. OMG!! The Bruschetta was so fresh and the balsamic drizzle was perfect. My only suggestion there would be to have the Brie for dessert. It was served with honey, pecans, strawberries and bread. Sooooo good!! We had the apple, bacon and smoked Gouda pizza for our main course. I would never have thought that apples went on pizza but it created this wonderful salty / sweet taste that we loved. This is the best tasting room in the Midwest! They have such a great variety of wines and the staff does not compare to anywhere I've ever been. The food is top notch!
