Our review is a bit unique as we fell upon BRIX The Salon by accident and will be forever grateful that we did! We are fabulously lesbian and therefore, needed to book two brides for our wedding hair appointment. We were 3 weeks away from our wedding day when the salon we originally planned to have our hair done in, explained to us that they mistakenly did not reserve a place for us and had no room for us on our wedding day. You can imagine the panic we felt! We immediately took to the internet for extensive research on reviews of Auburn and surrounding area salons since we live two hours away and were not personally familiar with any of the salons in that area. After reading the reviews of BRIX, we called and were instantly relieved when the owner of the salon not only booked us to get our hair done at the perfect time we needed, but exclaimed, "TWO brides?! How wonderful!" That's not the best part though. On our wedding day, as we entered the salon, there was a little framed sign on the counter that said "Congratulations" with our names on it! We were so surprised and delighted. The two stylists (I should really call them artists because they were amazing) who did our hair, were absolutely incredible. I even wore clip-in hair extensions (hey...even lesbians need a little help now and again!) and my wife has very thick, dark hair that usually does not hold a curl and our hair still stayed in place ALL day and looked fantastic! I'm very sorry I don't remember the names of the stylists, but they were amazing as was the owner of this salon. OUTSTANDING!! Just had my first visit Wed. May 6. I moved to California 6 months ago and had be referred to a different salon and colorist. After going to her twice, once to correct the mess she made the first time, I gave up. My hair had been heavily highlighted with bleach, had brought out orange undertones, and showed dark roots within two weeks. I saw someone in a store whose hair was gorgeous and asked her where she had it done..........Brix in Auburn...and ask for Libby!! Welllllll, I am blown away! Brix is a hidden gem. First of all the place is a wonderful oasis of professionalism, soft colors, tea, cucumber water, cookies, and a quiet "lather" room where the shampoos combined with an amazing head massage are done. Although it was full with clients, it seemed very quiet and peaceful. Upstairs they have a full service spa with massage, mani/pedis, facials, and a full training space for continued education for their staff! But, the best part is the incredibly quality of their stylists! Libby is absolutely a genius with color! My hair was a wreck and she completely eliminated the bleached out look, the brassiness, the roots, and turned it into the ash color, slightly highlighted, totally natural look I asked for ...and got! Their prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the quality of the work and the spa like environment they have created. And, I am booking my sister for cut and color with Libby for her June birthday and will recommend to all my friends and family. You will NOT be disappointed. The location is great too....drove from Roseville and it is so direct it only took 15 minutes. Definitely a keeper! read more

I needed a hair styling on my long hair. I hadn't had my hair cut for 10 years and I was tired of long and straight. I found Angie at BRIX and made the appointment to have her do my hair. I was so nervous!!! When I first met her I loved her warm and friendly personality. As we started talking about my hair, I was really happy that she really seemed to be asking all the right questions and really seemed to be listening to my answers. I let her get to work. I am so happy with my hair style!!!!! My hair feels better than it has in years and the hair style just falls into place. She is my hair stylist for life! Next month she is going to do my coloring and I am excited to see what she can accomplish. I recommend Angie McNamara without any reservations!!! read more

BRIX The Salon is all about the guests, and making sure they have a wonderful experience. Even in the shampoo area (called the lather room) the room is lite with sconce lighting, while you listen to the ocean waves rolling in. All of the stylists are masters at a great scalp massage that is included with the shampoo. There are separate rooms for being under the driers, or shampooing etc. Music is soothing. They have a massage therapist, Esthetician, manicurists, and stylists. BRIX is located in a big brick building with lots of ambiance. They serve refreshments and refreshing things to drink like pellegrino with lime and fruit infused waters. Visit them on Face Book and check out the photos. read more

So I recently visited Auburn to spend sometime with my family and catch up... There had been a lot of ranting and raving about this new salon called Brix! I had to check it out myself.... Low and behold, seriously, this is the best salon HANDS DOWN!!! The moment you set foot in the door you are greeted by one of the owners, Becki, who has a contagious smile.. Her husband, Jay, the other owner had been sitting right there, equally as friendly-- furthermore, I ended up getting a facial by their daughter who , how do you say "works her magic," with these amazing Yon Ka products. To sum it all up- the experience here was amazing from beginning to end. This family owned business is awesome!!! read more

Natalie has been my stylist for over a decade. She's very professional, detail oriented, and a true artist. I travel 2 hours from Oakland for my appointments, every 5-6 weeks, and let me tell you, it's well worth the drive. Today, I got my roots touched up and toned, with violets, lavender, orchid, raspberry fashion colors underneath, and a haircut. Usually, I give her a couple color ideas, and let her roll with it. She makes me feel like a rockstar every time. Also, Natalie's scissor work is excellent. As a pet groomer myself, I fully appreciate the precision and attention to detail when it comes to one's technique. I'm a very happy camper, and I can't wait till my next appointment! read more

This is a great salon! Very nice atmosphere, everyone is there is super friendly, great products, and always nice refreshments. I LOVE Jackie! She is such a sweet person and a great stylist. I have jumped from one stylist to another and never found one I wanted to stick with. So many times I've read reviews about people finding a stylist they will not part with, and now I have finally found mine! I am always happy with what she does with my hair (I have curly hair) and she has great product knowledge. I also got an awesome spray tan from Jessica. I was very impressed! I had a very bad Pedicure years ago and was very afraid of infection....I have now been going to Liz for both manicures and pedicures for about eight months. She is very very sanitation conscious. She changes the lining of the spa each time. Among other things...And she does an outstand job. I can see why she was voted one of the top manicurists in Auburn...The salon is outstanding. They give you refreshments and snacks....They seem to really know their products. The Owner Becky is always cheerful and friendly....Like a big city salon right here is little Auburn!! read more

Andria Sauer with Brix is a true artist. She did the bridal hair for myself (the bride), my mom, and my two sisters. All of us have different hair and wanted different things. Andria's work is spot on! All four of us were so happy with the styling. Also, wedding day can be stressful. She was happy and pleasant and soothing. Lots of family members were stopping by asking Andria questions and she obliged and made them feel part of the process while sticking to our timeline. I just recently moved to this area and needed to find a new hair stylist. I tried a couple of places in the Auburn area but was disappointed until I found Brix. As soon as i walked in I was greeted in a happy and warm manner. I was made to feel comfortable right away. The stylist I went to was Jackie Outman and I continue to see her regularly. Everyone at Brix is always so helpful and happy. I always feel like I'm being doted on, from being offered something to drink as soon as I sit down to being offered a cheese & cracker plate sitting in the chair getting while my hair is processing. Maureen Tillack is amazing with my hair, and I've never left any less than thrilled with it. Melissa Loomer gives the best pedicures and manicures, and her massages during both are to die for! Merry @ Brix is amazing. She is a wonderful stylist and I will never let anyone else touch my hair! She gives the VERY BEST shampoo I have ever had. Not only is the shampoo service amazing, but it is in very comfortable chairs, with mood lighting and music. It makes you feel like a new person, it is so relaxing and luxurious. Natalie did an amazing job cutting my hair. I had quite a bit of damage/breakage and desperately needed a good cut to bring back the volume and fullness of my hair. She did a beautiful job at creating layers that framed my face and gave me the volume I was looking for. Not to mention she is very sweet and gives a great scalp massage during shampooing. Merry was amazing...not only did she do a phenomenal job on my hair, but also made hair washing in every day life look like a completely under rated en devour.
