This was my first visit here. The guy at the counter recommended the brisket pastrami Rayz way…read more The sandwich lived up to the hype. The meat was so tender that it was immediately absorbed into my bloodstream! The bread was just barely toasted; perfect IMO. The other ingredients were complimentary players. The place itself is almost barn-like and there is an endless supply of potato chips and not much else. There are a couple of tables outside, but it wouldn't be adequate for a large group of people.

I saw an Instagram post about a thick-cut wagyu pastrami hoagie. Well, the thick-cut pastrami isn't…read morea thing anymore. The pastrami is cut thin -- thin, but it's still good. What we ordered: 1) a create-your-own pastrami sandwich with mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese, 2) their new pastrami cheesesteak. 3) a banana pudding (which I haven't tried yet) The standard pastrami hoagie good, but those kinds of pastrami sandwiches are pretty ubiquitous in SoCal-- pastrami, thinly sliced; maybe there's pickles, maybe there's mustard, maybe there's jus for a dip (their's is dry), on a French roll. I can get that kind of pastrami sandwich closer to me. On the other hand, a pastrami cheesesteak is NOT something you'd see around these parts. According to the menu, their cheesesteak has their signature pastrami, Cooper sharp cheddar, and onions on a hoagie roll. We preferred the pastrami cheesesteak over the standard, simply because of the novelty but also for the taste. The cheddar gave the cheesesteak a richness that a regular pastrami sandwich wouldn't have. Also, the melted cheddar had a binding effect on the pastrami; the meat stayed in the sandwich. You didn't end up with a third to half the pastrami ending up escaping the confines of the roll halves. The pastrami cheesesteak also included a 2oz serving cup of chipotle aioli which we really didn't need. The flavor on its own was enough for us. If I had a minor gripe on this cheesesteak, maybe a hit of acid would've been nice, but cheesesteaks usually lean toward rich and gooey so this sandwich's flavors and textures are par for the course. About the place itself: 1) the sandwich shop is on the corner of a major intersection, Lexington and Pacific 2) other than a driveway with a single space, it is ALL street parking. 3) there is NO parking on Pacific 4) the only dine-in option is a small porch with a couple of tables 5) be stage are all canned or bottled; there is no fountain The sandwiches are made to order. My order was given a wait time of 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure it was faster than that. I don't think I would drive all the way from the Rosemead area, but it's clearly a local's favorite. If we were in the area, we'd totally order the pastrami cheesesteak again, maybe with pepperonis. Their pastrami is no Langer's, but it's definitely a cut (no pun intended) over the standard Jim's 1/4 Lb or Rick's type joints. You can taste the care in its preparation. Overall, a really good sandwich place.

Not all 7 Elevens do the 2 for one, and these 7 Elevens are not worth your time. Please, take advantage of this potassium-tastic deal! Other notes: This 7 Eleven does not get that elusive 5th star due to the fact that their chicken fingers never look too good, and sometimes their pizza is quite dry looking. This location is one of the smaller ones, and does not have quite the selection the 7 Eleven further down Broadway has. However, that location does not offer the aforementioned banana deal, so I make a point to always visit this location. This location also has friendly staff and the line is never too long. They are very cool about letting me use my 7 Eleven only parking spot to run next door and grab a croissant after making my purchase in their fine establishment. TLDR: 2 bananas for 1 dollar.

Also make sure to check expiration dates as they like selling expired items! As far as their staff: There is only one friendly cashier, the rest are rude to you if you're not Armenian! There are also several men working there who extremely rude! I don't understand this type of behavior from a business. I guess they only want money from Armenian customers! I always support local stores regardless of who owns them but this one is getting a hard pass and would advise you not to shop there.

Expired cheeses in their fridge. I bought the 24 back brown eggs and I got two good eggs out of it but was too scared to eat those and had to throw it all out. Please see attached image. They're either expired or old eggs bought at a discount from near by farms. Will no longer be bringing my business here. Oh they also charge you .50 cents if you don't meet a minimum of $10 when using a card. Maybe if all those products/produce were fresh people would be able to buy $10 worth of stuff. About the only thing that's ok from here is their bread but only on Saturday and Sundays when they drop it off fresh from nearby bakeries.

Everyone seems to give up but the KEY is PERSISTENCE until you get what you want! SMH ‍ TIP : Make them transfer your prescription to a pharmacy who has it in stock via their confirmation by call. You can get it filled faster and INSURE they call themselves, please don't let them redirect you, or gaslight you into thinking that it's your responsibility! This is literally the whole reason the pharmacy exists! ^^^Also, don't be afraid to ask for a MANAGER . Naturally some employees are nice and some are clueless it just depends! Managers are so tired of being complained to they're just gonna try to resolve your issue if you have a plan! Anyways, I'm about to drive 30 minutes to Van Nuys to get my prescription that they CLAIMED was out of stock indefinitely (for the second time). Still took some effort! At least you're not waiting 2 weeks+ with no answers or calls. Just a 10 minute phone call and a 30 minute drive so success Godspeed!
