10 Piece Fried Chicken Wing Plate
    Felecia V.

I'm giving 3 stars because I've been here before and maybe it was an off day. If today was my first time trying, this would definitely be a 2 star review. Very briefly-- Snow crabs: delicious, sweet, tender, full, and moist. No weird residue. Just clean claw meat. Potatoes: 8/10. Soft but not overly cooked. Could've used a bit more seasoning but not bland. Corn: overcooked, mushy. I'm done with their corn. This is like my third time trying their corn and they're always over cooked. Crawfish: super disappointing this time around. Very bland. Not very moist. Chicken plate: an absolute NO. Fries tasted like they've been sitting under a heating lamp for days. Chicken seemed severely over cooked, refried too long, or under a lamp too long. I'll attach a photo. Hot sausage: same as chicken. Something went wrong! Overall, I think I'll leave Broadview alone for awhile. The previous time before was just okay after raving about them awhile back on here.

    Crawfish
    Andrei L.

I was looking for a no frills place to get crawfish on a recent trip to New Orleans. I wanted to go to J+J Seafood in Gretna, but it was closed. This place looked good to me as well and I'm glad I tried it. The place is definitely as no frills as it gets, so thanks to other Yelpers who identified that beforehand. It's a dingy place that has only two tables and is set up like a local deli. I actually called beforehand and the lady told me that the crawfish was $6 / lb. Wish I came here in years past when it was only $4 / lb, but I guess that's how things are in 2022. I ended up getting 3 lbs of crawfish ($18), and one order each of corn ($1.25) and potatoes ($1.25). Also got a bottle of soda ($2). Total came out to about $24.52. I've actually never had crawfish before so I was excited to try it. I also felt stupid because it was my first time. I watched some videos on eating crawfish and asked the lady there, who gave me some basic instructions. I think I got the basic hang of it. I wasn't sure how much to order but 3 lbs ended up being a huge amount. The bag of crawfish felt like it was never ending, which was great. I really liked the seasoning on the crawfish; it was mildly spicy and pretty flavorful IMO. There is so little meat in the crawfish though, so it's a lot of work for a small piece of meat and to suck the juices out of the head. The corn and potatoes were excellent IMO. The corn was nice and soft and the potatoes were a bit watery, but also had some solid flavor to them. It felt like it took me like 2 hours to finish my meal, but I definitely enjoyed my first crawfish experience. It seems that Broadview Seafood was good value for the amount of food I got. The people running the place seemed pretty nice and accomodating. FYI, watch out what clothes you wear when you go to eat crawfish. Because all my clothes smelled like it after I was done and the smell stayed in my hands for the rest of the day, lol. I'd give this place 4 stars overall.

    Fried Turkey Wing

Oh my oh my these Turkey Necks are the bomb. It's one thing to say you come to New Orleans for fine cuisine but we are in a whole other ball park when you can find some good old fashion country food! The spice, the flavor the taste rolling around having a party in your mouth. We tried the fried Turkey wing just to see what that was about and it didn't disappoint. The seasoning appears to have been soaked for days! The flavor was on point. The combo bag is spicy, be warned. It doesn't ask what your spice level is so it better be ready!

Close and personal with the Fried Shrimp Platter!

I found out about this awesome seafood shop from a few friends! They usually rave about the Hot Sausage or Fried Shrimp Po Boys, so I just had to check them out. It's a small corner store on S Broad and you will have to find street parking around the area, but it is definitely worth it! When you walk in, there are two tables on the left side, a register in the middle, and a line of glass door fridges with beverages on the right. When it came to order, the lady was really friendly and treated everyone with utmost respect! I really feel like it's hard to mess up a Hot Sausage Po Boy, so I opted for their Fried Shrimp Po Boy for my first visit. I wanted to see how they made their Po Boys and what made them so special. When the food was ready, the order was announced through an overhead speaker and you can pick up through a window right out the kitchen. The food came out fast and hot! I unwrapped my Fried Shrimp Po Boy and instantly took a bite, something I never do because I always feel the need to take pictures of my food. I got excited because I saw that they used Hi Do French bread, my favorite French bread for Po Boys! The shrimps were average sized, not too small or too big. They were lightly battered, so I could taste the shrimp. There was the perfect amount of lettuce and mayo, so everything really went well with each other. I enjoyed every single bite I took out of the Po Boy and I understood why my friends were raving about it! I came here a second time to try out their boiled food items and wanted to show a friend the amazing Po Boy I had last time. The lady helped me out again for this visit and was nice as ever! I ordered a pound of boiled crawfish and their combo bag, which included two cut potatoes, a spicy sausage link, a boiled corn, a pig's foot, and long turkey neck. It was a really good deal for around 6-7 dollars! The boiled crawfish was delicious and had a good spicy kick to it. The potatoes and corn were the usual that you usually get at other places, but the corn wasn't boiled with the crawfish pot. I loved their pig feet, it was cooked perfected and had great flavor! The turkey neck was huge and I had to get a to go box to take home to eat later! Overall, this place is awesome and I definitely recommend everybody to make their way here to eat some good crawfish and Po Boys! The service is always friendly and prices are very affordable!

We were hunting for fresh fish they only had frozen only. I guess that's our mistake they had lots of other things and obviously this is a favorite place for the locals. We are pointed in another direction for fresh fish

The crawfish is perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. My husband does not like spicy food so we asked for a customized mild basket. Very accommodating to his disability and inability to eat anything remotely spicy. Did you know they make wings? Can we say "World's Famous?!?"

    Michelle D.

chicken was not cooked all the way staff replied that it couldn't be the entire 100 piece but who will eat any of it after opening up 4 pieces and they all was halfway cooked

    mmm...freshly boiled crawfish!

It teaches knife skills, safety, and you get to take your fresh fish home and cook a delicious meal with it. They also have a bar inside, of course it is New Orleans, and I got an espresso martini and it was quite good! So great fresh fish and cocktails! The fish class came with two large fish, you got to keep the knife, and learned skills. The lady monger demonstrated on her fish, and then watches you carefully, guiding you to ensure the best technique. There was about 4 people per cutting table and they also required use to wear apron and gloves. Don't feel intimidated because they are right there guiding, ensuring safety. It was a fun unique experience. Even if you know how to gut a fish, you may still learn something new! I have to come back and try some these fresh sandwiches or poboys. There is so much greatness here, you just have to swing by and check it out yourself!

The fried "Captain's Platter" is $35, it's worth maybe $12. It was 4 shrimp, 4 oysters, and a decent sized piece of fish, all considerably over-fried, with fairly plain coleslaw and hushpuppies that looked like they had been cooking since the shift the day before. --- I honestly couldn't believe this was brought to the table, but it seemed normal so apparently that is how it is served there. It was VERY small and fairly overcooked. The boiled crabs were mush. Decent flavor, not great. Would not recommend. The charbroiled oysters again seemed to have been cooking for 3-4 times longer than they should have. They were rubber, flavorless and unappetizing to look at. They were pretty bad. - At least they were clean. I didn't get any shell. But I also didn't get any oyster in 1 of the 6 oysters served at $18. Then we got a Sausage Poboy. The sausage was decent, but the sandwich wasn't good. WHY WOULD YOU TOAST THE BREAD? NO ONE WANTS SAUSAGE BETWEEN TWO CROUTONS. Just kind of a weird mistake that makes you wonder if anyone there has tried to eat any of their own food. Because it's not easy... Honestly 90% of the food we got there was pretty bad. But we will be back for Tostada alone. That was phenomenal. 10/10 Delicious.

If you love seafood boils, you have to come by to try this place out! They have boiled seafood very similar to the kind that's served at Big EZ Seafood and Oyster in Kenner, but they also have regular Americanized Chinese food if you're in the mood for some Chinese takeout. I love their Chinese takeout food too, but the bags of boiled seafood are really the appeal here. Their portions are large and generous, their prices low and cheap, the quality of food is high, and everything is delicious. The boiled seafood here is a little bit different than the truly New Orleanian style of boil you might be used to eating. You can choose the type of seasonings you want (Cajun, spicy seafood, garlic butter, lemon pepper, or a combination of multiple),and you can choose your spice/heat level (mild to extra hot) too. I love the customization! Their seafood "combos" are a fantastic deal. For example, for just $20, you get 1lb of shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage slices. This is my favorite go-to item here for sure. Because it's messy, if you're eating there, they provide you with disposable gloves and a wet wipe, which we all welcome lol Their Chinese takeout is great too and always comes with generous portions. One thing to note is that the takeout items tend to be a little low on salt for my tastes, but that's an easy fix with a salt shaker. I think it's a good thing especially for people who might have dietary restrictions on their sodium intake. Remember, it's easy to add salt to a dish, but nearly impossible to remove it! All in all, East Harbor is a 5-star, must-try, go-to-favorite restaurant! ESPECIALLY for their boiled seafood!!
