Gave this place a try as I was in the city visiting family and it was close to my folks' place. Brought them with me. Parking lot looks like it stays full but we got in and there were a couple of tables with people and a lot of people waiting for to go. This was around 6pm. Steady stream of people coming in for pick up orders so someone likes it. Good sign lol So the food is seafood boils or Chinese. Didnt feel like getting messy so went with the Chinese side. We all did. Now a lot of people like to judge any Chinese food against the backdrop of "is it Chinese kitchen?". And we are no different lol but having lived away from the city for a long time and finding nothing is Chinese kitchen, you adjust your scale. And this place was fine. I had the four seasons, moms had the shrimp and broccoli and pops had the shrimp lo mein. We all enjoyed. We also ordered a combo fried rice to share. Also fine. Now the egg rolls, again, judging against the one of a kind, they were fine. They at least had shrimp in them. So better than nothing. I would not have a problem eating here again. East Harbor is a newer restaurant, but I'm already obsessed! I'm ashamed to say how many times we've been there already since we discovered it. If you love seafood boils, you have to come by to try this place out! They have boiled seafood very similar to the kind that's served at Big EZ Seafood and Oyster in Kenner, but they also have regular Americanized Chinese food if you're in the mood for some Chinese takeout. I love their Chinese takeout food too, but the bags of boiled seafood are really the appeal here. Their portions are large and generous, their prices low and cheap, the quality of food is high, and everything is delicious. The boiled seafood here is a little bit different than the truly New Orleanian style of boil you might be used to eating. You can choose the type of seasonings you want (Cajun, spicy seafood, garlic butter, lemon pepper, or a combination of multiple),and you can choose your spice/heat level (mild to extra hot) too. I love the customization! Their seafood "combos" are a fantastic deal. For example, for just $20, you get 1lb of shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage slices. This is my favorite go-to item here for sure. Because it's messy, if you're eating there, they provide you with disposable gloves and a wet wipe, which we all welcome lol Their Chinese takeout is great too and always comes with generous portions. One thing to note is that the takeout items tend to be a little low on salt for my tastes, but that's an easy fix with a salt shaker. I think it's a good thing especially for people who might have dietary restrictions on their sodium intake. Remember, it's easy to add salt to a dish, but nearly impossible to remove it! The Chinese food here was just okay for me. The rice was decent and the lo mein was actually pretty good, but the sesame chicken fell flat--more chewy than crispy and not very flavorful. The crab rangoons were the standout of the meal, definitely the best thing we tried. I wasn't a fan of the pork & shrimp egg roll though; it had an unexpected cinnamon/nutmeg taste that threw the flavor off for me. The food is sadly a hit or miss. I went once before and had great food and today I had the same crawfish combo and the crawfish were soooooo small it was crumbling in my hand when I peel it. I told the waiter and she agreed that it was way too small, I told the hostess/manager if they can take it off my bill because they didn't inform me they had infant crawfish. She did not remove the crawfish off my bill even though I did not eat it. She said that it's due to the season and I explained to here that you should inform ppl if it's that tiny. I would say stay away from the crawfish here at the current time unless you like them small. Don't advertise crawfish if the quality is not good. This is not good service to me today especially if someone doesn't touch the food, sorry. read more

Came here because my daughter LOVES seafood and it's not too far from home. I prefer traditional boiled seafood over covered in sauce style that every seems to enjoy these days but I was a team player and gave this place a try. We started with the charbroiled oyster which were ok but I wouldn't get them again. My husband had fried chicken wings which were very hot and crispy I just wish they had a bit more spice. My daughter had the crawfish special which came with crawfish shrimp crab cluster plus corn potatoes and sausage and she really enjoyed it. I got headless shrimp which were a decent size and had a good flavor. My son also tried the orange chicken with shrimp fried rice. He didn't care for it but I ate it and thought it was good. Given my daughter's obsession with seafood I anticipate we'll be back and it's cheaper than the chain we typically frequent in Metairie. read more

The crawfish was pretty good. We had the Louisiana and Cajun style. Honestly not sure which was my favorite but they were a perfect match together. The potatoes were great. A lot of sausage too, it's thinly sliced. The service was great and the waiter was extremely attentive. The food was hot and fresh. Wait time wasn't long. read more

The House Special Mei Fun is too die for its so flavorful and well prepared. Will definitely come back

Just tried this place for the first time and it was so good! I got the shrimp Mei Fun Noodles. The portion was HUGE - enough for 3 people/meals really. Only cost $15.28 after tax. Tastes amazing!!
