I moved across the country (drove 33 hours) and schedule sunshine to show up at my new house and unload a 26foot Penske truck. I made a $100 deposit and confirmed with them 3 times to ensure they would show up when scheduled. They day of the move in at 8am, they don't show. I call/text for an hour and no one answered. I have my wife call (from a different number) and the scumbag answers. Now he starts communicating then he has no idea where his guys are and they aren't answering. He won't answer the phone anymore and hardly responds to texts. So here I am, with a truck full of stuff and 2 kids under 2 and I can't even put the crib together. If they were going to be late I can deal with that, stuff happens. When you are late and don't respond and leave a family of 4 completely hanging you are a lousy businessman that doesn't deserve anyone hard earned money. I guarantee he will keep my $100 too. Time scheduled was 12 noon - They showed up @ 10 pm on the Friday night.- 10 hours later- multiple excuses. The coordinator guy told me cancel if you like... and he would consider not charging me th 450 bucks! Really ?? Thats so nice of him _ Not!! He told me moving is stressful and this is par for the course. Hmm.... I needed the furniture at my new place and we were flying out the next morning. They know they have you once you pay the non refundable deposit. They did show up on time to the destination- which was a positive , but then the moving guys refused to the take the furniture inside as they picked it up from the garage. I moved the stuff to the garage to make it easier for them and I still stood in the shivering cold while they packed my stuff, Now they said the company rule was to they leave things where they found the stuff. They worked hard, packaged breakable items with care, and we're on time (Something that I have discovered is not true with every moving company. )! They patiently waited for the "go sign" to unload at the new house. When they pulled away it was as if we were saying goodbye to friends. In fact, they were the same guys my mother had for her move only 7 months prior! These guys got to my original location early and were careful, as well as intelligent, instead of being the stereotypical yes men that I have seen movers be in the past. For 6 hours of work (the travel time to Brooklyn was the biggest part of the move), everything I packed survived the move. I had one recommendation for Ambrose and she was right. This move involved two days, one with stuff going to a daughter and the other downsizing to an apartment from a house. (I got an additional 10% off because I mentioned my recommender. Now for the beyond part. There was a little damage to a lamp and at their offering, they found the exact product and had it shipped to my new partment. No haggle or fuss. They took full reponsibility. Some other mover suggeted take outr special moving insurance. With Ambrose did not need it. Good luck with your move, they did help take some stress away. The process was pretty simple with electronic forms in advance, deposit, and messaging. Again, for my needs, this worked but if you have a bigger move then I recommend a conversation of your needs. There was a delay in response time as it got closer to the move. I was trying to coordinate timing with my new residence but I didnt hear from Ben in a couple days. Didn't matter in the end but I was stressed out given the short window I had to move. The day of, Ben and his guys arrived within the 1-hour time frame they gave me, we did a quick walk thru, and they got started. I noted on yhe form wanting some items wrapped or covered but they asked when they arrived. Appreciate that because I don't really know if it's necessary for some things and it ended up raining that day so good for the fabric. I thought it would take 60-90 minutes to get loaded in the truck but they were done in 45. Honestly, I was worried they may damage the walls or chandelier with stairs and turns, but no problems. They had to wait outside my new place for about 15 minutes while I finished up with some paperwork without complaint. They unloaded is less than 45m and I paid the balance before they left. No damages here either. After a few moves within and across states, I highly recommend plenty of bubble wrap or other protection if you're packing yourself, and packing the right weight for the box. I learned from past experience not to skimp on the number of boxes, rolls of tape, or bubble/paper/peanuts. Ben said they can pack for you but thats another day of work. Overall, a positive experience. Keep in mind it's a small business. Be very clear on what you need and expect, before and during the move.

My floor lamp was bent, my grater was broken, and the hands on my clock were bent vertically. - Upselling: I provided my own boxes and asked them to use those first. They ignored my instructions and used their own overpriced boxes instead. - Padded Hours: They left Philly an hour after me but arrived 15 minutes after I did. They also charged me for their lunch break and kept the clock running for 20+ minutes just to calculate my bill. - Poor Management Resolution: I spoke with the owner, who admitted his team messed up and agreed the bill was surprisingly high. He promised a refund, but only refunded the amount I gave as a tip, completely ignoring the padded hours and broken items. Incredibly overpriced and inefficient compared to other local movers.
