Needed an alignment. Called and was quoted $120. Got there and was told $160 + tax. Tried to use a bucky book coupon and was told they don't accept them (They were selling the bucky books on their counter). They don't take appointments so it's either leave it or wait several hours. The old bait and switch is still a thing. Went to Farm & Fleet instead (they take appointments) and it cost $116 including tax. I was trying to help the local guy, but I have my limits. Came in to get two snow tires put on the front of my car this morning, when they came back to me in the lobby they said my passenger low beam headlight was out, which I was automatically in disbelief. I changed that bulb 2 months ago when it didn't even need to be changed and I inspect my vehicle daily as I deliver pizza at night with it. I said "really, because it was working just fine all the way until I made it home last night from delivering pizzas, I would've known if it was out for any odd reason." the guy behind the counter kept acting like they were only doing my tires and that there was no possible way they could've damaged it, yet they were under my hood giving me "complimentary fluids" with the windshield washer fluid fill hole being literally right in front of the headlight housing that's in context here. Also, you need to take off the headlight housing cover to get access to the headlights under the hood, I don't think they spilled fluid on wires I think someone opened my housing and purposely shorted that bulb so they could charge me 65 bucks to replace a 27 dollar bulb that takes no more than a minute to replace. I went straight to autozone and put a new bulb in after leaving here and would you believe it, it worked, further letting me know that someone messed with my headlight bulb while they were changing my tires. I don't recommend this place to anyone for any service. The picture of the bulb is the one they shorted, no signs of it being burnt or any wear, it still looks new. The other is my most recent picture when I changed that bulb 2 months ago, yet like I said, I deliver pizza every night and it was just fine last night and before bringing it to their shop. read more

I took my car here to get a flat fixed and get an oil change. The tire wasn't put on properly and my car was shaking like crazy. After taking my car to another shop, they told me my tire was in danger of falling off. They also messed up my oil change by not screwing the drain plugs in properly, causing a leak. After bringing up these issues they didn't offer anything to try to gain my trust back. After putting my life in potential danger I'm never coming back here. read more

I've been using this shop and it's other locations for years. Once, in Sun Prairie, the kid just jacked up my Malibu to change a tire but he pinched the fuel line. Totaled my car and they just walk away Scott free. The one on broadway has too many kings in a castle. What you get told about your car isn't gonna be what they said it was. Of course, they'll make it wrong and have you come back one more time to ruin you car. They sell used tires, but never have your size needed available in the quantity. I have been going to the Monona location for oil changes which are reasonably priced and close to my home. I had a check engine light go on and I mentioned I might not have screwed the gas cap on tight. They replaced the gas cap without asking me or having me sigh a quote for it. Their gas cap is not attached to the car like the original one was. They may have figured I won't fight a $100 charge. I noticed on the entrance that they have a big sign to not ignore check engine light warnings. It is common knowledge that a loose gas cap can trigger this, so they didn't need to do much convincing. I have no idea whether they just reset the light or it actually was the gas cap. The car is 11 years old so I don't think it was the cap. Also, they have a sign on the door to replace your shocks at 50,000. This is the lower end of when shocks should be replaced. Depending on the car, driver they can last to 100,000. Broadway also wanted about twice the price compared to Farm and Fleet. read more

I went in to get 2 new tires and alignment. I was second in line at 7:30am. They claim, first come, first served. They indicated that tire replacement would be an hour and a half and alignment an hour. They asked if I wanted to wait or come back. Fortunately, I left. At 11:00 , I called and they said not yet ready. I said I needed the car by 1:00. I called at 1:00 and they said it had not yet been aligned. It would be after 2 before I could pick up my car. I cancelled the alignment and will never return. Shame on them. read more

I have been going to Broadway tire in Monona for tire repair for over 25 years. DO NOT HAVE THEM CHANGE YOUR OIL!! I will never go back after my last experience. Had an outer wall tear and needed my tire replaced. I requested a call before service, when the guy called we discussed a new tire, cost etc. He also stated I needed an oil change. I figured sure, would save time since my husband always does our oil changes. After they finished I picked up my car and drove 5 mintues to my home. Everything seemed fine. A few days later I took the car out again, but this time when I parked my car I noticed some kind of fluid on my driveway by the tire they replaced. When I opened the hood I found my oil cap was off and just seating inside the hood. Of course it was late Saturday and they were closed until Monday. I called and left a message. Monday they called back and told me to bring it in and they would clean my engine and fill the oil. No explanation or apology. I took it in and when they called me back I was told me they "tired" to clean the oil but because my undercarriage was made with a felt type material there wasn't anything they could do. They also said they had to put a little oil in. When I picked my car up the paperwork stated they had to put in 2 quarts!! My car only hold 3.5, they claimed they also inspected my engine for damage but the person I spoke to couldn't tell me what they actually did. Three weeks later and my car still smells of burnt oil. I still don't know if there was any real damage to my vehicle but how they handled this was not professional in my opinion. Plus how hard is it to put an oil cap back on when thats your job? read more

I've been to Broadway numerous times now. At first it was just for tires and I was quite pleased. Prices were fair and the wheels actually came back torqued properly, not too tight (as checked with my torque wrench). Their service has become increasingly poor and expensive. I don't know if they are purposely trying to gouge returning customers but it certainly feels that way. 1) Had to get them to remount tires on another vehicle of mine since they mounted the directional tires the wrong way on two of four. No, it did not just require a wheel rotation, they actually mounted the tires wrong. I had to argue with them a bit on this. 2) Their alignment is crap. I've had three vehicles aligned at their shop and all three pull slightly to the left. They say it's within spec because their machine tells them so but I'm guessing their machine has not been calibrated for at least 4 years. They obviously don't test drive them afterwards. 3) I asked them whether they could fix my exhaust on one of my cars while I was having tires put on. It had a fairly clean break at the flange and I hoped it could've been fixed with a flange kit or weld job. They tried to charge me almost $100 to simply inspect my exhaust, say it was broken and they would put on a completely new system on. SMH. 4) Don't buy into their "first come, first served" BS. They do this so you they can essentially hold your keys and you can't take it elsewhere. 5) They obviously don't respect their customers as I've overheard them talking smack about their customers way too many times while waiting to check out. The straw that broke the camel's back: They charged me $800 to replace a lower ball joint and control arm. Most shop manuals says you have to take the knuckle off to replace the ball joint which should take about 4 hours per side to remove and install. There is another method, given you have the tools, to replace the ball joint with the knuckle on the car which reduces the time to less than half. They charged me for the first method but did the second method. I know since the first method requires the removal of the CV nut which was not touched at all. Not only did they charge me for excessive time, but they purposely held onto the car to account for that extra time so they could charge it. I brought my vehicle in first thing in the morning, 2nd-in-line and it was not until 10am the next day until I got my car back. As you can probably tell, I'm fairly fluent in car repairs and only bring it to a shop when I absolutely need to either because I don't have the lift or time. This was a case where I needed the car fixed for a weekend trip and they held onto the way longer than necessary. So not only did they charge me for shop time they did not actually use but also completely inconvenienced my whole trip. To top it all off, the lug nuts were loose! Could have been a disaster on a long trip! Farm and Fleet is a much better alternative if you're in that area. Unfortunately for me, they were booked that day. read more

I won a MadisonBids set of tires for Broadway tires. My tires were fairly worn, so I drove my vehicle to get the new tires. My vehicle never once vibrated with the old tires, but after Broadway installed the new tires, the vehicle shook at around 60 mph and when I applied the brakes to stop. Also, I have aluminum rims and they scratched and damaged them when the new tires were installed. I had always taken my car to Discount Tires and never once had an issue. These guys are a bunch of clowns, and if they can't even install tires, I wouldn't trust them with anything else. read more

I went on a Monday morning when they opened, 4th person there waiting, it seems like every time I come here I am waiting forever. I needed one new/used tire put on, it an hour. The next day I went grocery shopping opened the trunk of my truck and none of my belongings were put back. My speaker was moved and left pushed all the way back and my compartment drawer was left open. Such sloppy work. For it to have taken and hour you think they could have taken an extra 3 minutes to put it back the way they found it. I also stood at the front desk waiting to be helped while more then 5 employees stood in front of me chatting. Neither helped until I interrupted their conversation. Highly disappointed. read more

I left a previous review with my reflection on their poor service from a couple previous visits, but need to update to review their poor quality of tires as well. I had four new Kenda Klever tires installed in 2017 and in less than two years (and less than 14,000 miles) they were showing cracks between the tread. I called Broadway to try to take advantage of the tire warranty, and they basically refused me and claimed I would have to remove all four tires and ship them to Kenda for review. Absolutely absurd. I'm wondering if they buy cheaper old stock tires that 'fell off the truck' or something - why else would they refuse to help me take advantage of a manufacturer warranty? Two years later I have had those dry rotted tires replaced today after multiple mechanics warned me of the danger of driving on them. The mileage? Only 28,000 miles. Go to Farm and Fleet like I did- trustworthy service and better quality products. read more

I came in a 4 used tires. They gave me 3 ok tires, and the 4th one was worse than the original tire I came in with. I waited over 2 hours for service. I called them to complain about the tire, they told me to come back. When I came back to have the bad tire replaced, I sat in the waiting area over 1 1/2 hours just to have them replace the bad tire. When I called to check if they had used tires for my car, I was told they had plenty in the size I needed. My car now has not one matching tire. I represent 4 different tire companies. Fast tire service with the best prices in Madison. I'm always afraid to be overcharged and nickel & dimed at mechanic/tire places, but these guys are straight to the point. I feel 100% ok with telling someone to go to this location and have some work done on your car. As for tire pricing, I think they are very comparable to any other price you find in town, and you can trust these guys to do a good job. ---They do not take appointments, and are first come/first serve basis. I am so glad I did not read these Yelp reviews before trying this shop. I have minimal contacts for most services (relatively new to area from Houston). I'm a business professional and female with pretty considerable knowledge about automotive servicing, so I'm fairly picky with built in scammer antenna working most of the time. I had great service first time out a few months ago on changing the radiator on my '99 Ford Explorer Sport, (sorry can't recall exact month; I'm thinking March). So when one of the hinges on my rear hatchback window broke, they referred me to Rose's Collision, who also did a fair and honest job as well. I just picked up my Explorer two days ago, after a transmission flush/fill/filter and an AC charge. I have to say, Mike and everyone else on staff are courteous, professional and sincere people doing their job. As a former employer, I know what damage a bad employee can do, and I feel some of these negative reviews may have come as a result of that. I'm going to conclude with this as well. If you want and expect great service from anyone, YOU have to present your self as courteous, sincere, and understanding in spite of whatever you are going through. No one can do their best work when treated poorly. read more

Quoted me an hour, it took 2.5 hours while I was waiting outside in sub-freezing weather because the employees were consistently not wearing masks or wearing them incorrectly, despite them having signs saying one must wear masks in the building. all I wanted was an oil change and tire rotation. What I got was a car that needed to be towed from their shop to have the damage they did here repaired. And it is SATURDAY , so no car for the week end.... The mechanic snapped off a lug nut and wheel stud (said it would be $80 for him to fix that) then he failed to replace the oil cap so the engine bay was soaked with oil as were the belts and other electrical things under the hood. I took it back and caught the owner just as he was leaving. He squirted some brake cleaner on the engine and components and rinsed it off with a hose and said there ya go. I checked the oil level and it was over full by a good 2" on the stick. I asked if he could make that right and I was told that I am on HIS TIME and being as I was rude (telling him I'd have the mess cleaned up elsewhere) he wouldn't do anything further. I had no choice but to have the car towed to the dealership to be repaired on Monday and send him the bill , which I will take them to court for if they refuse to pay it. read more

I've been going to Broadway Tire on Broadway for quite a few years for tires for several of the vehicles I own. Felt it was a locally owned shop, probably more so than F&F where I had been going. During recent tire purchase, someone sat in my car with dirty, greasy shop clothes on to move the car. I was shocked when I went to the car. They tried to make it right by paying for some detailing, after smearing the dirt around the seat, door panel, arm rests, and floor mat. Totally unfair. The seat is not 100% ok as a result, but it is just a car. I also noted a small ding to the rocker panel that they argued against, but I'm still convinced it was from the shop, but I can't prove that. I cannot return, ever. If I went back or when I go other places, I will take photos before and review the vehicle after. This should have never happened. read more

I called and was told they do not make appointments. It was first come, first serve. Needed a slow leak in tire looked at. When arrived told maybe 30 mins to take a look, so I waited. I had other options then waiting but that did not sound bad. Unfortunately it took about an hour and a half till they took a look. The diagnosis was that a previously repaired plug (from the dealership) was the leak and could not be fixed. I understand that. The only option given was to put on a used tire to replace it. No other options were given, even though I was prepared to buy a new set of tires as they were the originals from 8 years ago. (I thought this was a tire place and at least would have looked at the other tires) so I agreed. The cost was cheep, however the used tire does not look anything like the other tires. In fact it stands out as not matching at all. It doesn't look like the same size even. I found the waiting area clean. The staff seemed friendly, but not customer driven. I am probably going to get a new set of tires now as I think it was needed anyway (Somewhere else). On the way home I noticed my tire indicator light was not reset, I turned around and drove back to ask about it. They told me that "it would reset after driving it for 20 mins". I suspect that is not accurate as the owners manual spells out how to reset it. I think they could have looked that up easily. My impressions from my time in the lobby is that they may look for the cheeper quick fixes rather then a quality repair. I would have preferred the long term fix then a quick used tire that I will need to replace in a year or so anyway. In all I was there for 2 1/2 hours. Much longer then I anticipated. I was in no hurry, but I could have left it there and come back the next day if I knew it was going to take that long. They did not look busy, and it seemed to get a sense of urgency as it was getting close to closing time. The staff did not enforce the county mask mandate with other waiting customers. I thought I would give them a try as they were closer to my home, but the experience was not up to my standards. I will not be returning, but if you need a quick cheep fix to get by, this may be the place. read more

Worse service ever! We waited 2 hours just for them to switch out 1 rim and tire. Then they messed up something and charged me for the new parts they broke. A simple service that i thought would cost less than 100 became a $300 bill. I paid a lot and they didnt even do a good job. The car was shaking because they didnt balance the tires correctly. They told me to bring back the car today and it took them more than 3 hours to balance the tires and still didnt resilve the problem. This is ridiculous....busy people dont have time to waste sitting around for bad service. I will never come back to this place ever again. This place is the worst place I have ever been! I dropped my car off I explained what was going on with it and immediately the guy told me it sounded like a transmission problem. I left my car there and went to work. About an hour later I got a phone call telling me I needed a new transmission. It's been over a year and my transmission is fine. It was a water pump issue. This is the first review I have ever written for yelp. I feel it necessary based off my most recent experience. Almost $700 for an oil change, fuel filter, O2 sensor replacement and tune up. Since these services have been completed my gas mileage has decreased significantly. Not a good experience at all. UPDATE ON 02/16/15: AND IT GETS EVEN BETTER! So after all these services were done I noticed a substantial decrease in gas mileage, so I took it back to Broadway to have them look at it. They reviewed everything and said it was a "faulty fuel filter". They put in a different one and said everything was fixed. NOT! I was still getting terrible gas mileage so I went to a reputable mechanic and he showed me that when my car is on that gas is shooting out right from where my fuel filter is at. It was spraying everywhere and obviously not fixed. I am going back to Broadway today to show them again what is going on. This will now be the third time I have taken it there to get the same thing fixed. read more

Broadway Tire allowed an untrained employee to lift our beautiful Mountaineer by the cosmetic running boards, not the frame! This caused over $3500.00 in damages to our vehicle. It ruined the front fender, both running boards, the drivers door and window. We paid Broadway Tire the full amount for the service that day, after we were assured by Adam Schroeder, manager of the Monona location, that they would absolutely repair our vehicle at one of their selected body shops. Their body shops told us the damage was extensive and would cost as much as the vehicle was worth, we returned to Broadway Tire and were again told not to worry that they would repair our vehicle no matter what it costs. It has been two months and they have not repaired our vehicle and instead tried to get us to take approx. $1600.00. They refuse to honor our agreement that they would pay for the repairs if we paid for the service, now they are trying to deny it, saying "what, for a bent fender". We had been customers of theirs for DECADES. Ask yourself if you want to take your car in to Broadway Tire, have them destroy it, charge you for the work they did when they destroyed it, tell you to pay for it because they will be repairing your vehicle, have them run you around for a whole day to their body shops that for some reason won't do the work for Broadway Tire, wait two months and then have them tell you that you have to settle for scrape value on your beautiful car. This has cost my husband over $850.00 in time off from work on top of the damage to the vehicle and they are nothing but rude. If they apologize for their actions and will live up to their contract to fix our vehicle or provide reasonable and fair compensation so that we can have our vehicle repaired I will update my review. read more

Listen please.... If you are looking for auto repair/tires just stop and bring your vehicle to any one of the Broadway locations closest to you (I prefer Monona). I've brought most all my service work there in the last 5 years that I couldnt do myself and purchased quite a few used tires as well. I'm going to tell you without a doubt this is a family run business that will stand behind the work they do. I like to keep my money local vs. going to big chains which is why i started coming here in the first place. They have very fair rates and I trust that the work will be done. When legitimate issues arise they have ALWAYS taken care us (thats all you can ask for with a veh repair, bcuz it is inevitable sometimes). Our family has a baby with health problems and to have car problems on top of that can be so hard to handle. I appreciate Broadway Tire and the care they have given my family. Don't let Broadway Tire tell you to replace the throttle body. I took my truck in for a fuel pump and they said the fuel pump is fine but the codes from the check engine light show that the throttle body is malfunctioning. After I gave them the ok to replace that, they called to say now the truck isn't starting and it is probably the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump but didn't reattach the fuel line correctly and it popped off on the way home, dumping gas everywhere and I had to have it towed back to them. I got the truck back with a new problem, it was not getting enough power when beginning to accelerate from a stop. I brought it back and they "reset the system," which seemed to fix that problem. But their recommendation was to replace the throttle body if the problem persisted. I thought they just replaced the throttle body! That's shady business. read more
