Finally checked out Brodie's after seeing it for years and unfortunately the food left me unimpressed. I started with their clam chowder which was good, but their fish tacos were not the best. Felt like ingredients thrown together and wasn't tasty. They did have a live band playing that night so the vibes were good but I didn't enjoy my entree. Our server also switched halfway through and no one said anything... Most people seem to come here for drinks, apps, and music--I'd definitely be willing to revisit to do this but maybe get dinner elsewhere. read more

I wanted to get out for the night and was considering a few restaurants. This one had some good reviews and lots on the menu to choose from and prices were reasonable. I started with the clam chowder and it was very good. Then I had the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes and broccoli for my main meal. . It was pretty good. It came with a sauce on top with mushrooms. I used to this dish at all the time at another place that closed and other places since then serve it differently. It used to come with pasta like linguine but I like the mashed and vegetable to top it off. It was very good tasty. My daughter got the fish tacos with french fries. It wasn't the best she's had but was okay. There was live music so it was fun to listen to. They have music bingo on Thursday nights and entertainment on Friday through Sundays. I ordered fish and i waited for like 15 minutes for it and it was fine, I went to pick up my order and it seemed quiet inside, there were only a couple people at the bar and there was one bar tender. He recognized me so that was good at least. When I grabbed my order it was just made I assume since its still hot. A little downside was the food is so pricey and the person was not really very friendly. Also, they didn't give me any cutlery and i had to brought it up to his attention which shouldn't be the case. I goto my assigned table and get greeted by the waitress "Fallon" and she was extremely rude which is disappointing because she's been my waitress before. i'm very late on my review, but I came here in 2022 in September and their fish sandwich was one of the best fish sandwiches I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. I also tried the apple cider spiked drink. That was really good too. I believe it had a caramel sauce on the rim and it was very beautiful outside so we were able to sit outdoors and eat if you want to try seafood this isn't a bad place to stop. read more

What a disappointment. We've frequented this restaurant for over 10 years. To put it simply, our waitress Fallon was ignorant and rude. From out of state. Google shows them closing at 1 am, and we arrived around 10:45 pm. Walked in sat at the bar and wasn't served or spoken to for atleast 5 minutes. Made eye contact with the server and she told me " hey we stopped serving a few minutes ago " super cool no big deal. Bartender was very respectful nothing against her. My girlfriend was using the restroom as I am at the bar waiting for someone to speak to me and I walk out then realize oh hey, I'm a human I need to use the restroom too. Pretty mid all around. Outdoor patio - mid. It's totally fine, just no view or anything like that. It is a central location, though, to the wharf. Service - mid. The server forgot an item one of us had ordered and didn't take any steps to remedy it. We had to ask for the silverware and stuff like that. She was a nice person, nonetheless. The chicken tenders were good. Ribs were good. Mozzarella sticks were good. Caesar salad was good. Blueberry lemonade alcoholic drink was very watered down and not very flavorful. All good - just not GREAT. One thing to note was that there was no changing table in the men or women's restroom which made things difficult for us. Also the high chair strap was broken so my husband and I kept having to switch off holding our son because he wasn't safe in the chair. Over all, I'd say this is a place to go if you're bar hopping and it's a stop along the way with friends. Other than that, there are a lot better restaurants to choose from in the area. read more

Came here for a bite to eat on the 4th of July. They had tables outside available, but it was about to start raining so we sat inside. There was a live band and a huge crowd, so much for an intimate dinner but there weren't a lot of options open. There also was limited seafood options on the menu. I ordered the Shrimp Caesar salad with Pesto Chicken Pizza, while my friend ordered Scallops. There was too much dressing, the shrimp was on the smaller side, and the food did take quite awhile. The Pesto chicken pizza was very oily, but it was one of the only options I'd eat on the menu. My friend was not totally pleased with the scallops. The music was so loud, we weren't able to have a conversation, even though we were on the other side of the restaurant. I guess that's what we get for not planning ahead. The staff was nice and the owner or manager inquired to how our meal was at the end. I just wanted to get out of there. But if you like really loud bands with good crowds, this is probably a great place for you. read more

The manager at Turners restaurant visited with us at our table and recommended we stop by his buddies' place, Brodies Seaport, for drinks and live music. He said we'd like it because the place pretty much catered to the older crowd looking for music from the 70's. Damn, what a great recommendation. We had a wonderful time listening to Yukon Connell, a more senior band with a great 70's sound. If you are getting married in the Salem area and think this bar could be a fun place to end the night at think again. A relatively small group of us walked in after my wedding at 11 (they are advertised as open until 1 in the morning) into a relatively empty, fully staffed bar. The bartender took one look at me in a wedding dress and informed me that wedding parties need to book ahead (nowhere does it say this on their website) and told us to get out because they were closing (again, they are advertised as open until 1 am. That's fine if that is a policy but it should be posted somewhere publicly if it is that big of an issue! read more

In all my 53 years have I never been treated so rude by staff. Walked in with 7 of us. 3 of which are in the restaurant industry. The staff told us they don't take parties of 7. Mind you, we told them we were willing to split up 4 & 3 and didn't even need to sit near each other. There were 3 tables outside and 4-5 inside all empty. We can under stand if they were short staffed and relayed this to us but the bitch, yes bitch because that is how she treated us just said they can't take take us with an attitude that does not belong in any restaurant. Not impressed. Of all the places I've been to the last couple days, I felt the least welcome here. I asked if I could sit outside (the entire patio was empty) and some guy was 'like the seats are wet' - first of all customer service?? How about yeah, let me help you out?.. then another gal said 'I dried them off' which she must've. So, once I knew it was okay to sit out there, I ordered a drink, waited and took it out. When back for another round of drinks. Never once did anyone offer anything to help. (Except when I had my hands full with 3 drinks someone offered to hold the door- which I didn't need, I've been a server thanks) I bussed my own table, waited on myself and my friends and, yeah still left a couple bucks for a tip - you're welcome. Had they said (without all the BS) yeah you can sit out there, but it's self serve, that would've been one thing. Didn't get a good vibe from the guy & clearly he hadn't noticed that all the restaurants around were seating outside, the storm had passed hours before. Thanks for the hospitality. I'm not a difficult customer & I don't ask for much, I tip accordingly & don't leave a mess. Your loss dude. Wings were good. Service ok ambiance nice. Went the Saturday before Halloween, had a great time with my friend from Jersey. Only problem was she had her eye glasses on the bar and when we were ready to leave they were gone. She couldn't see. The bartender looked but didn't find them. We back tracked her steps, no luck. Went back in and talked to owner about them and the bartender came over seemed annoyed we asked the owner for assistance. She said I told you they are not here. Geez. Ok, some mixed feelings on this one. The second we walked in the bartender asked if she could take my iced coffee and throw it away for me. Uh, no you can't. My daughter and I split a plate of nachos and I got a burger and fries. My cousin wasn't very hungry and just ordered mozzarella sticks to munch on. She must not have noticed the price because when the bill came we were all shocked that they charged $14.99 for 5 or 6 mozzarella sticks! What's worse though is her daughter ordered pasta and butter and they charged $13.99 for that! A kids pasta and butter (pretty small bowl) that literally cost them 50 cents to buy. Crazy! We weren't rushed out despite the line for a table growing longer and longer so it was an overall good experience but the price for a crappy kids meal will probably always stick in my brain. read more

We got a cider mimosa (Cider and Champagne) and a Cider Sangria (Cider, wine, and vodka) the drinks were delicious and had some diced apples, and a very tasty sugar cinnamon rim... however they weren't priced, and we definitely wouldn't of ordered if we knew they were $15!!! Hostess with blonde hair was a total bitch to our party of 7. She kept rolling her eyes and answering "well obviously" when we asked her to clarify the things she was saying. She was a terrible communicator. She told us she could seat 5 of us but that 2 of us couldn't get a table. We were so confused, like what does that mean? Please further explain ?? She was being incredibly rude to my 62 year old mother and repeatedly to my sister in law. We were asking her where should we stand to wait to be seated and she said stay where you are. We all looked at her because there was a line behind us. So my sister in law suggested we move to the side. That's when the bitch of a hostess threw her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes and said "yes, whatever!!" we could go off to the side to wait for our table. My mother asked if she could come in to use the bathroom while we waited and she said no. It was after the final eye roll when I spoke up and told her that we had enough of her gross attitude with us. She argued with me that she had no attitude and I said you absolutely do. I knew that nobody in our group wanted to say anything mostly because we wanted to get seated and let my mother use the bathrooms, but I wasn't anything but direct with her when I called out her out on how she was treating us. She went on taking the next customers and then I saw her glaring at us and she just seemed to snap, went back into the restaurant and without even asking us what happened, someone appeared and told us the kitchen couldn't accommodate our party of 7. So she felt so small and insignificant in her life she decided to have us told we couldn't come in. I felt nothing but embarrassed for her, what a pitiful life she must lead. As a business owner myself, I actually hope this place goes under because they have one of the best spots in Salem and they don't even appreciate what keeps them in business- THEIR CUSTOMERS. Oh, and we went to Witchside Tavern instead and were seated immediately and the staff were so friendly, the ambiance was great and the food was amazing. read more

My go to place doesn't offer takeout on Sat. And Sunday's. Came here for takeout two thumbs up on fish and chips, 2 orders of tasty haddock w flat thick chips, cooked perfect!! The staff were professional and friendly. The wait was only 10 minutes. They have indoor/outdoor dining. Prices are average for this location, maybe a smidge higher. The takeout came with utensils, and condiments. For fish and chips it is 4 star, I haven't tried anything else yet. read more

So we stopped for a quick and light bite before dinner later. Just needed some soup and a starter to tide us over. Cup of the clam chowder was wonderful, maybe the best I have had on our trip to Boston, and my wife had French onion soup that was great; not terribly salty and great taste. Also ordered the appetizer popcorn shrimp which was tasty, not too salty, light with a really good tartar sauce. Service was quick and efficient and pleasant.
