Visiting for Halloween or local? Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. The food was horrible, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the environment was HORRENDOUS.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner REFUSED to refund my $600 deposit for my rehearsal dinner -- every penny lining her greedy pockets instead of going to the hardworking staff. Enjoy it while you can, because the Department of Health will be seeing you next week -- and that's exactly where my money will be going.... and then some! :)

Emma was such a great server. She was so nice and did such an amazing job. The food was honestly amazing. I came to celebrate my best friends birthday and this was such an amazing dinner. The drinks were great as well. You can't go wrong with this place at all

Delicious food and amazing staff. The steak was tender and easy to cut. The moscato was delicious and sweet.

The chicken parmigiana was incredible. The waitress let me know the fettuccine noodles are made here and I tried them- best pasta I've had yet in life. Something I liked about this restaurant is the vibe and environment, everything was lit up and had a great feel to it.

Main dinning room for rehearsal dinner

Full restaurant reservation for Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party - In late August of 2024 we hosted our wedding in Ipswich / Salem. After researching, and visiting a dozen venues in the area, we landed on the Antique Table to host our rehearsal dinner (30) and welcome party (100+). - Planning / Communication - Maureen who handles all of the events is an absolute gem. We visited the restaurant twice for dinner prior to the event to try different items and talk through details with her. She was unbelievably accommodating with adds and tweaks (menu, alcohol options etc) and always available for a phone call. - Food & Drink - Rehearsal dinner food can be quite bland, but this stacks up to the North End & East Boston. We had a wide option of apps and entrees with good wine pairings. The chicken / eggplant part is phenomenal, and a great base for a long night of welcome drinks. - Location - very centralized location right in downtown Salem with plenty of nearby parking. Most of guests walked front heir hotels. - Venue - [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front dinning room comfortably held our 30 person dinner with room to spare. The back patio was amazing for hosting welcome drinks as most of our guests spent their time outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a buffet of apps set up in the back dinning room which was confident for those going to the bar or bathroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had considered live music (which they can accommodate) but found using their sound system with playlists for dinner and the welcome party was a more suitable option. - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pricing - great quality for food and venue as compared to other venues. We never felt nickled & dimed, and were there #1 priority.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, it was a great experience start to finish with nothing but compliments from our dinner guests.

    Chicken Mauricio with extra cheese

Significantly larger than Lynn restaurant but every bit as good if not better. We came to beat the Salem October madness and Anderson took care of us. Nice bar with high tops when you enter. Salads are large and filling. Chicken Mauricio over choice of pasta was filling and smothered with cheese. Meat ball appetizer was excellent and filling as well. Figure meal with a few glasses of wine and and appetizers will run around $110-$125 but worth it. Will definitely return after Halloween when Salem returns to norm Went last night and was disappointed. Maybe it was Cinco de Mayo and restaurant was unprepared for the crowd or maybe because staff was out but both service and food preparation disappointed us. Three and one- half stars. My house salad was drenched in dressing and my chicken valdestano was not what I remembered from last time. Both drinks and food came out sporadically and our waiter was also trying to tend bar. I hope this was a off evening but it did disappoint.

    Ambience ....

April 17, 2026 I…read morewent with my parents tonight to the Adriatic Restaurant (Washington Street), Salem, MA. We've started having dinner out twice a month and this was the most recent experience. I had gone online to the NORTH SHORE DINNING PAGE on Facebook and asked people about their experiences with the restaurant in the last two days and here's what people said: "great, tender meatballs", "great eggplant parmigiana", "very good experience". .... And what we found out is that they were right. Those things were all true! Now.... As to what we ordered: I got the grilled octopus. It was the only partial miss on the menu. Arugula just doesn't make a very good sauce and it was a pretty bad base for what would otherwise might have been a great appetizer. My mother got the Caesar salad. It was good. It's a hard thing to screw up. My father ordered the meatballs. They were amazing and delicious - just like Facebook promised. The tzatziki sauce was good. Maybe not as good as mine, but good nonetheless. So dinner.... Mine was the Chicken Saltimboca. It was so good that I'd bathe in the sauce they make with it. I loved eating forkfuls of the chicken with bites of the mashed potatoes. That was really luxuriant. My mother had the Eggplant parmigiana and she wiped out the entire plate. She loved it. My father.... Beef tenderloin tips. Maybe cooked slightly too much, but delicious. He wiped out the plate. To drink.... I was out of the hospital and recovering from brain tumor surgery, so I had the hard cider (3.5% BV), my father had the Peroni (Italian) beer, and my mother had the Bud light. I tasted the Peroni and liked it very much. The hard cider had almost no sweetness to it. It was dry as a higher end brut champagne.... Which actually set off the meal really nicely. My tastes weren't clashing and that was good. Our waiter, Sean, was great. Ask for him! We left a $32 tip, so the bill came to $197.85

She was patient and kind and took the time to understand what we needed. We ordered cocktails... because tonight was the last night I could before I re-start chemotherapy. Both my father and I ordered the Sangria ($14.00) ... And it was *amazing*. Honestly, it was the best I've had since my best friend and I drank together at a Flamenco restaurant in Montreal in June of 1985. My mother ordered the house dry red wine ($10.00) I didn't taste it and she didn't mention whether it was good or not. We ordered one Ceasar Salad ($10.00) and it was both really generous and incredibly delicious (see photo). My parents and I split it three was and it was plenty. The tang of the dressing really worked against the sardines and garlic. I'd definitely go back for more of that!! For dinner, my mother ordered the beef special.... Beef Braciole ($33.00) in an epic sauce. She loved it... but definitely could not finish it!! She brought the leftovers home (as did my father and I). My father ordered the Veal parmigiana ($29.99) and it was a massive, almost overwhelming plate of food (photo attached). He loved it (as did I when I tasted it!). For me?? I ordered the Pollo Vodka Bella Napoli ($26.99 - photo attached). It was a huge, almost overwhelming bowl of food and it was amazing. Deep, rich flavor with mushrooms, bacon, shallots, and tender chunks of chicken. The noodles we all ordered were the home made & hand-made fusilli that are produced in-house. I think that if a chef is going to spend the time necessary to make noodles, you should savor them... and that's what we did. Suzanne offered us a chance at dessert, but we declined, since we knew that if any of us ate a bite more, we would hit critical mass and destroy at least the surrounding block. The only weak point we encountered was the bread. It was weak, drab, and lacking in taste and character. They could do much better on that. Our bill, with taxes, was $162.62. With tip, it came to $195. Totally worth it!

The seafood chowder has a good amount of seafood (shrimp with some scallops), but the seafood was mushy. The chowder was also lacking flavor. The chicken parmigiana was not as good as Olive Garden. The chicken was mushy, and the sauce was watered down/thin.

I stopped by Piccolo Piatti mid-afternoon and the place was fairly busy with people hanging out waiting for their orders. I ordered a Salmon Bowl ($16 plus tax) which was ready in about 25 minutes after ordering since there were already large orders before mine. I watched the two cooks prepare food in the kitchen as I waited. The Salmon Bowl was really good with nice flavors, which had white rice, mixed greens, red onions, pico de gallo, hot tender honey glazed salmon smoothed with a pesto mayo. Restaurant Week, as per the Salem Chamber of Commerce's website, is summed up as: "Participating restaurants offered special two- and three-course prix-fixe menus, giving locals and visitors alike a chance to explore, support, and celebrate Salem's vibrant dining scene." For $45 I got cheddar jalapeño fritters, a poutine burger (hamburger with fries cheese and gravy on top, kale Caesar salad with freshly grated cheese, and fresh, piping hot apple cider donuts. The burger was hearty, the fritters popped, and the donuts hit the spot but by far the standout was the kale caesar salad with the creamy dressing over crispy and crunchy kale topped with the tangy grated cheese. A Downeast cider washed it all down and was refreshing. I went on a weekday so there were a few people sitting at the bar with me but overall the place wasn't packed. What I really appreciated was the general manager came to talk to me specifically about their Restaurant Week food selection and to get my feedback. She was super friendly and I told her about the kale caesar salad. Parking is on the street and can be hit or miss because The Babe is right on Washington Street where it starts to curve around the corner. It's worth it to keep circling though. The Babe has different events each night of the week, including Jazz Tuesdays and karaoke Fridays. I had a great time at The Babe and I appreciate how much they support the local Salem community. After waiting about 20 minutes, we were finally seated. Despite that rocky start, the food was so outstanding that we ended up coming back every single day during our stay in Salem. The biggest inconsistency was the service. Out of the four days we visited, only one day stood out as having exceptional service. Most of the time we had to flag someone down for drink refills, order more oysters, ask for Parmesan cheese, or even leave our credit card hanging off the edge of the table before someone would notice we were ready to pay. Now, onto the food because that's what kept bringing us back. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were the true stars of the menu. These are the kinds of soups you'll still be thinking about long after your vacation is over. The lobster bisque was unbelievably rich, creamy, and packed with generous pieces of lobster. The clam chowder had the perfect consistency and, unlike so many others, was loaded with tender clams instead of mostly potatoes. The one-and-a-half-pound lobster was sweet, tender, and practically melted in my mouth. I wasn't in love with my pasta dish. The scallops, however, completely stole the show. They tasted as though they had been pulled from the ocean just moments before being cooked perfectly fresh, sweet, and delicate. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was undercooked and lacked flavor, even after the Parmesan cheese finally arrived. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect dessert on a hot Fourth of July afternoon. It was light, fresh, and exactly what we wanted to finish the meal. And the oysters? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single day. They were consistently fresh, delicious, and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. While the service has plenty of room for improvement, the kitchen is doing something truly special. The quality of the seafood alone was enough to make us return day after day, and that's about the highest compliment I can give a restaurant.
