We got there around 11:15pm, went to go sit on the patio and a staff member came up to us and said "you're not sitting out here, city ordinance says we have to close soon". I'm not sure why we couldn't sit outside for 45 minutes. We go inside and a bartender tells us we can't sit at a certain table becuase he "wanted to close his section and go home". Finally we find a table that is good enough for the staff to allow us to sit at. No server, so we go up to the bar. A bartender with blue hair was extremely rude and not sure what she was doing. (Side note: they had every liquor you could possible imagine, but the bartender said they do not have Malibu Rum and never will). Odd. The place was empty and took the bartender 15 minutes to make 3 drinks. To top it off there was no toilet paper in any of the 3 stalls in the woman's room. The food was great -- the mac and cheese was so delicious and our sandwiches were all excellent. The space is well decorated, but there wasn't room on the patio. The one food related con is that their iced tea tasted terrible. I don't even know what was wrong with it, but it tasted really bad. The waitress was willing to swap it out for a different beverage instead. The biggest issue was service. Our waitress was incredibly inattentive. The number of times I kept looking around trying to catch her was ridiculous. She would walk near us but rarely came to us. We ordered a ton of food, in addition to alcohol and regular beverages, so I don't think it was an issue of price discrimination. She was just a bad waitress. In fact, the busboys/other staff ended up helping us out at times because she was that bad. We tipped close to "normal" but would have tipped even less if we weren't concerned about tip sharing -- we didn't want to stiff the other staff who did go above and beyond their duties to help us. We would consider going back and praying we don't get that waitress again or we may just get takeout and avoid the problem. read more

I'm giving this place two stars because the wings are amazing hence why I came back a second time after an already bad experience!!! The wait staff is horrendous first time I came was complete chaos the manager was waiting on everyone and sending complimentary appetizers right and left to make up for the chaos. This time not much better our waitress unfriendly, never checked on our table, didn't offer refills, didn't bring out the sugar I requested and was missing for about fifteen minutes and not to mention only had one other table but still blamed the poor busboy. My new favorite place! Legit the best wings I have ever had - we got the Bourbon BBQ and will continue to do to - they are so good. Also the MAC AND CHEESE. Great new bar in the area. They have an awesome back patio with games like large Jenga and connect four. Lots of TVs to watch sports. Food - The burgers and bbq are delicious! I'd highly recommend the baked brussel sprouts. However, the mac n cheese was nothing special and has room for improvement. It honestly reminded us of boxed mac n cheese. Have been here twice. First time early evening on Sunday. Second time to watch college football on a Saturday. Both times service was fantastic - cannot ask for anything more. The ambience is nice. Mixed reviews on the food. Have had the brisket twice and first time was awesome. Second time was ok. Salad, fries and tater tots all are thumbs up. Was very disappointed to learn they changed their menu so the cauliflower with cheese was not available this time. . There are gluten free options but you need to ask - would be good to see that expanded. Overall I give hem 5 stars for the location, the ambience and most importantly the service. I went to this bar to watch baseball specially the White Sox on Saturday 7/25. Wasn't sure what to expect because the Cubs were playing at the same time but they put both games on, everyone was happy. The beer garden is awesome because there is a TV everywhere you turn, ample Shade, and lots of seating options. 5 dollar stadium cup beers on the weekends and the wings were delicious. I have been trying to find an outdoor sports bar closer to the loop than wrigleyville especially during COVID and this one checks all the boxes. Will be coming back and recommending Broken Barrel to all my friends to watch sporting events! read more

It's still the family friendly place with tons of bar seating that used to be in this location (with the hint that it'll turn more clubby later in the evening), and the food and service were great despite being a bit crowded! Get the Roasted Brussels Sprout Nachos and add lamb... the name threw my husband off a bit, but they are truly delicious and we probably did not need to order entrees after these. He got the burger which he enjoyed I got the Nashville fried chicken which was delicious but very spicy. If you do not like spice, do not order this sandwich. I do, so I loved it :) read more

They need healthier bar food menu items (grilled chicken wraps, turkey burgers, etc) to attract the same crowd that flocks to every four corners bar (which this place used to be before the flooding issues). If they add some of these items to the menu, it would be our go to neighborhood spot. read more

I walked in not having heard of this place before and was happily surprised! Cool vibes and didn't feel uncomfortable as a single woman from out of town at the bar. The bartender was, well, sorta amazing! She is a tiny little thing, but Lindy clearly knew what was what- ran the bar like a boss, but made me feel welcome like a regular. So.. let me explain something. I first met my cousin here in 2002 ish. Not current place, we think it was called Southport something another. You know what, it doesn't matter, we have been twice to this spot since they opened, everyone has been professional and fantastic, the food has been on point, (we did burgers on Taco night, lol), and wings the second time. All excellent. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Not sure why somebody would say else wise (well, unless they are a pompus jackass), this place is great. The wings are claimed to be smoked but I don't sense any smoky flavor. The dry rub was awkward and the wings were just not good. They are dog friendly, but you may have to go to the hostess to get let in thru the back. Also kid friendly. First visit... the menu was limited but everything we ordered was good. Second visit, full menu, and the food was really good. I know some of the earlier reviews talked about issues, but it looks like they got the kinks worked out. There is something for everyone. * Black Bean Burger - Veg. My wife's must have meal. * Cheese Curds - Something to try, loved the dipping sauce. * Ribs - Its a small plate but a good appetizer * Mac & Cheese - I didn't get any... but friends loved it. * Pulled Pork - A classic standard * Wings - Different sauces... I can't remember which ones we had but they were good. (Award winning) We are still working our way thru the menu but everything we've tried has been good. This isn't a fancy 5 star restaurant with a dress code and a snooty maitre'd but a neighborhood bar that has a killer menu. You could not pay me to come back here. Went for a trivia night on a Sunday--part of this is the trivia company's error, but everything started late because they couldn't work out how to get the TVs to screen the trivia game. This was a prepaid event (aka reservations were made, they should have known how many people were going to be there), the bar was full, yet they were severely understaffed. There seemed to be only one waitress servicing a large area and she was extremely forgetful. We ordered a dish that they were out of but were not told until over 30 mins later, after we asked about it (same thing happened to the table next to us.)The wrong drinks came. The food runners kept coming over trying to drop off food that we didn't order. It was like everyone working there was confused. Waters came after asking more than once--then were never refilled during the three hours we were there. When the bill came it had the item that never came on it. I wouldn't be so bummed out about our evening if our waitress was apologetic/friendly instead of seeming to avoid us the whole time. All of this being said, the menu is big, lots of choices for all kinds of cravings, and the food wasn't bad.
