Waiter terrible- he was such a diva and seemed like we were a bothersome. Truffle fires- wet, not even soggy wet as well as our tater tots. Wings are ok. Just go down the block to birds nest for better wings and service. I had high hopes for this place. The beer garden is really nice. Better food are service would make the place a grand slam. Loved it, visiting from STL for Rams vs Bears game. Had the burger and Nashville chicken sandwich. Both were great, burger was better. Nashville chicken is pretty hot. Great cocktails, busy so a bit of a wait but overall I'd definitely come back. read more

Had a great time being served by Nikki today. Stopped in for some beers with friends and she was extremely attentive. Drinks always came out fast, along with food. Next time we come back, we'll definitely request that we sit in her section. I highly recommend that you do too! read more

Came here for an NFL game. They have no idea how to handle a large NFL crowd. Was told 30 minute wait. Waited 90 minutes. When seated we were told food would take over an hour. They had one bartender handling all 20 people at the bar plus the entire restaurants drinks. Do not recommend for games unless you come an hour before kickoff. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night because they sponsor my friend's volleyball league and can manage our table of ten people nicely. Everyone ordered many of the $5 margarita specials and they were very tasty and pretty strong (you can also order them spicy and/or skinny). Lots of food was ordered and I only can account for the Mac and Cheese, $3 taco deal and cheese curds, but all items were delicious and met the vibe of the restaurant. This is a great spot for a casual drinking night with good daily deals. The food is nothing over the top, but still meets expectations. The only downside is they don't allow split checks whatsoever. I understand our party was big, but seriously, it's 2021. I don't know the next time I will return but it was a fun night and they hosted it well. read more

this restaurant was ok but with promise. the space is unique (in a great "upscale sports bar kinda way) and the menu is diverse. However, they are (admittedly- look at the huge plea for employees on their website) understaffed - leading to disappointingly cold food. I love this spot. From the moment you walk in it has that sports bar vibe, but yet they sell upscale (reasonably affordable) bar food. One of my favorite items is the Brussels sprout nachos. Sounds weird at first, but totally good and I always add lamb to it. My new favorite would have to be their croissant French Toast menu item. The blueberries on top mixed with the sweetness of the croissant is fantastic. I've never had a bad menu item here from the wings, Mac & Cheese, cocktails, desserts...love it all! Even better during the summer they have an outdoor patio. Absolutely love this place! Chef Bryant Anderson is the best and comes out to make sure the guests are happy. :) read more

Let me start this review by saying this.. I really really like this bar. A lot. As a huge sports fan, I came here for the first time to watch the SNF Pats and Packers game when friends came to visit the city. Broken Barrel is an upscale sports bar that delivers decently priced food. Nothing outrageous. The bar is decorated by 50" and 60" flat screens, so you can never miss a play! I really like simply wooden aesthetic that the bar presents. The interior is very sleek. There is even an outdoor patio, but I was not able to see it at night and it being fall weather. Now for the food! We got monkey bread for appetizers. Usually monkey bread is cinnamon in my experience, but this one was cheese and garlic. It was soft and cheesy that melted in your mouth with marinara sauce....think about that. My friends got tacos each- they came in pairs. The Lamb tacos with red onions.. they lasted maybe 5 minutes. That shows how good they are. The hickory brisket tacos were so tender, said my friend. My girlfriend got the Brisket Dip- a Chicago version of the French Dip. She described her dish being really tender, but not smoked. It was hard to eat since the sandwich was so fat and the dipping container was small. Overall, it was a good sandwich that came with an abundance of fries. As far as my sandwich, I got the bbq pulled pork sandwich with a heaping pile of cole slaw. The sandwich was a good balance of dry and wet. The buns were toasted that gave a good crunch. It was an overall 10/10 sandwich. Broken Barrel Bar is an overall 10/10 Sports bar. I love this place!! So glad we found it!! I am a huge Steelers fan-- and with our clubs usual bar close-d needed to find somewhere that I felt safe watching the game with a few friends. By chance I found this - -and it is terrific! Manager Chris does a great job. His team works hard- and they do a good job of COvid protocols The food is consistently good-- great chicken wings- -and so are the cocktails. The patio has a bunch of TVs. There is enough covering to be protected from the elements- but you do feel the air moving. The heat lamps are awesome- no need to wear your coat! Thank you for giving us a safe space! They've only been open 10-11 days or so according to my bartender & it feels like they know what the issues are they need to correct. The portion appeared a little small on the lamb tacos, but they were delicious. I unnecessarily added a burger order a little while later but really would've been satisfied if I had just ended the meal after the tacos. The football games were on & there are 4, FOUR BARS!! I didn't realize how big this place was until I was getting ready to leave & saw that they had 4 bar areas almost individually isolated! They were much busier in the beer garden & at bar #2 than where I was up front, which was fine by me :D I didn't get my bartenders name, but he was friendly & appropriately attentive with refills not being forced upon me. The only gripe was the not crisp or really even warm sweet potato fries, but I was so full from the burger that I refused the replacement offer. He explained that they were replacing the heat lamps in the back so some items weren't staying crisp or hot & it was a "will be fixed" item on their to do list. Came here twice for brunch before COVID and did pick up once during COVID. The drinks were large and reasonably priced. The food satisfaction depends on what you order. The nachos are huge, but they get a little dense with the sprouts. I love the smoked wings - these are really good. Spicy chicken sandwich was fine. Prices are very reasonable for what it is. Lots of TVs inside - great place to watch a game. Overall, a good neighborhood spot I will keep heading back to. read more

We came here for the soft opening, my good friend actually grew up with Chef Bryant. Normally new restaurants are bound to have hiccups, especially on soft openings, but we came at 8:30-9:00 during full house (during the Eagles and Cubs game!), but we had a fantastic experience. Danielle, our waitress was amazing! We got our food and drinks with lightning speed. She checked on us the perfect amount of times and was always super friendly. The drinks were really good too. The portions are large as well. Priced accordingly. I will be back. We stopped in for dinner the other night and couldn't wait to check out the patio. The place is clearly new but has an amazing setup and is very spacious. The back patio especially is great. Started with the smokey old fashioned which was great. Fairly strong and had this great smokey aftertaste. Really liked it I got the nashville hot chicken which I really liked but my wife did not. She really didn't like how liquid-y it was. I agree it was weird, they must've poured some spicy oil over it which was totally unnecessary when the rest of the sandwich was really good. The fries were good as well. The sandwich was a decent size and I felt I got my money's worth. But some of the other options on the menu looked super expensive. A lot of the apps seemed super pricey. Also, service was slow. This is pretty common with new restaurants but it was quite slow - to the point where we had to get up to ask for the bill. Very upsetting and rattling experience. Had been sitting at a booth for hours, enjoying college football Saturday, when an evening bartender decided to start shouting and making allegations and make a scene inside the bar kicking me out. Management stepped outside with me and said they would sneak me in through the side entrance to get away from this bartender (tattooed, brunette, skinny). Our booth got up and left and our tab was picked up because of this unstable bartender who made the entire bar uncomfortable. sorry had to do it... i literally logged on bc although the food is still "good" the service has just been so atrocious. i definitely have been letting that slide for some time bc it's kid-friendly, i enjoy the food and it's got great open seating (especially for these pandemic times) but omg...i honestly don't think the servers are trained and they bury themselves in their devices -- not having a clue about the menu. once you're seated, you need to flag someone over to help you (it's like they seat you and forget) and at every visit, we've had to ask someone other than our server to either a) find our server or b) help us bc our server has gone MIA. it's really bizarre... read more

Had a bad experience here on 3/17. They advertised having the sound on for all NCAA tournament games, which they did when we arrived. At 5:00pm, they decided to have a DJ blast obnoxiously loud music, which nobody wanted. Multiple people requested sound for basketball be turned back on, or at least lower the volume so you could hear yourself think, but the manager refused. Keep in mind this was the opening Friday of the NCAA tournament, you know - one of the biggest sporting event days of the year, and this is a sports bar. Not to mention the website advertised it as having sound on for all games. The manager was very rude and unaccommodating, stating "I'm not turning basketball sound back on, we always get a DJ on St Patrick's Day." We've been coming here for years to watch the NCAA tournament. They advertised having all the NCAA games with sound on their website which is still up. They ended up having a DJ blasting music from 5PM on to a bar full of people there to watch basketball. Everyone was complaining about it, including some of the staff, but said that is what the owner/s wanted. Our server Nicole was great. read more

The bouncer that looks like Andrew Tate was extremely aggressive for no reason. He seemed to be under the influence of stimulants. When our party by accidentally went into the wrong area, they apologized and were met with immediate aggression. Ownership hiring a bouncer who looks for conflict is extremely reckless. Bouncers are supposed to deescalate situations, not escalate them. Would not recommend going to this establishment unless you want to be harassed by a power hungry bouncer. read more

Overall - this place was good! They don't seem to have it all straight post-Covid but it's a lot to manage I'm sure. Our service was slow (even though the waitress said we were her only table) but she apologized and said she kept ringing our items into a computer that didn't go to the kitchen. He brought over an extra heater for us because it was chilly out and we didn't even have to ask. We had to ask for our check three times. When he came back he apologized for the delay and asked me not to write a bad yelp review. I wasn't going to because I understood but it seemed a bit tacky. Then to make up for it he brought shots over but I would've really preferred he comp an appetizer. It felt like he wanted the shot because my friend and I weren't drinking heavily at all. There was a guy who was very, very drunk in line in front of us while we were waiting to put our name in and his friend was actually trying to get him out of line to leave. He decided he wanted two margaritas to go which seemed like a very bad idea to us. He ended up going into a house across the street so maybe he's a regular and they knew he was close to home but he seemed decently over served. However - the food was GREAT! Their cheese curds are so, so good! I also had the pork tacos and they were so good. I would definitely come back! Their back patio is also AWESOME! My partner and I came here as last minute plans after a failed attempt at another bar. We were thrilled! I am so glad that Yelp suggested this place. We enjoyed $5 margaritas and also ended up getting some food. The margaritas were great. But the food.... so unexpectedly good. I got the brisket flatbread and it was honestly amazing. They're barbecue is so good. As a southern native I am a tough critic when it comes to barbecue and for me they nailed it. My partner got the burger and he also had nothing but good reviews. I went there to watch one of the biggest boxing fights of the year. These are a great appetizer to give you enough energy to keep drinking. They were kind enough to allow us have Buffalo wings and half original (or no sauce). The buffalo ones tasted you'd expect.. good kick but not too overpowering.
