Today's brunch was yummy! First time trying chilaquiles here and I must say I was not disappointed. The perfect combo of crispy and soggy chips made this dish so good topped with 2 eggs over easy. Beats my usual go to sope Benedict. The only reason I couldn't give a 5 star was that their women's bathroom was flooded and the only available restroom was the men's room. A bit awkward. The restaurant was bright and vibrant smelling of sweet pancake batter, mixed with tender bacon and juicy sausage sizzling on the grill...or maybe I was just hungry for a good breakfast. The smiling greeter immediately seated us, giving the option of sitting inside or outside. We chose inside (air conditioning) and sat at a spacious booth next to a giant gleaming window. In less than 30 seconds, our server came over smiling, introduced herself and inquired about our beverage choices. While waiting for our drinks to arrive, we scanned the menu. Back page of the menu was partially illegible. However, I noticed that a team of "Busboys" were constantly wiping down tables, chairs and windows. Drinks arrived, orange juice was fresh and ice cold. Server asked if we needed more time or ready to order (smiling). We ordered. Food came in less time than we expected (No COVID pace) Nice! Those wonderful smells initially experienced upon entering the restaurant, were definitely reinforced. My eggs were cooked to my liking (over easy) the bacon was tender not to greasy and my pancakes were fluffy pillows of happiness (Yummm!) I love fluffy pancakes. It's been a very long time since a "Store Bought" breakfast has put me in a good mood. What's the saying, "nothing burps better than bacon". Broken Yolk used to have the BEST hash browns in the CV. Now they are cooked on one side only, and are RAW in the middle. Disgusting. I asked the waitress for hot hash browns cooked on both sides. Outstanding food and service! I've been here several times with my family, trying something new each time and we've never been disappointed. I've personally tried the Ranchero Skillet, Classic Eggs Benedict and the Monte Cristo. The portions are large and I always leave satisfied. The establishment itself is alway clean and professional. Poor attention to detail. Asked for no butter and waited 30 minutes for our food, but when it came there was a huge lump of butter. We asked for them to fix it, but when they brought it back they had scooped the butter out and hid the pancake with butter under another. I have visited this place many times and the customer service is always great. My complaint today is the food, tasted like a different cook made it and it was not fresh. We have lived in La Quinta for 3 years and I finally made it to Broken Yolk for breakfast. My husband had been a couple of times without me, and thought I'd enjoy it. What I loved was how big, bright and airy the place is, nicely decorated and CLEAN. Big points there. Service was friendly and timely. I ordered a large stack of pancakes and a side of bacon, I received a small stack but the staff made it right very quickly. The bacon was excellent. Hubby had a waffle sandwich and didn't love it, but said he usually gets a bacon/eggs/pancake combo that is outstanding and next time he will have that. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

After I ate I finally got the waiter and told him, the manager came over and offered anew piece of ham or sausage but I was done I told him just give me a piece to take home, no offer to comp or at least give a discount. My friend with me had eggs and a muffin the muffin was so hard he broke it open and just ate the inside. It took exactly 61 minutes to be seated. Dining with the great Candace, and her son, we were over-hungry. Once we were seated, all the misery disappeared. Super great service by Johana, and she was very sweet and apologetic for our wait. The food came out quickly, and Johana made sure she was ahead of our wants. I ordered the John Wayne ($10.99): a chili cheese omelet, with mushroom and onion. Served with a side of hash browns. It was excellent. The biscuit, was a problem. It was like rubber, I couldn't even bite thru the top. I sent it back for another, and it was the same. I sent it back, and got some toast. Good! The decor is kind of plain, but clean and nice. They've added the Broken Yolk touch, as all of their locations have, wood fans centered by one ginormous one. An outdoor patio with seating is terrific, hope they intend to have misters in the summer months. Regardless, once the growing pains have been addressed, this will be a great place. Having been to the San Diego location, I was so excited to have seen this while we were on vacation. On our way back home, we decided to refuel here before the long ride home! It wasn't busy at all as I had expected being how San Diego location's wait was always out the door. We were seated immediately. For not being very busy the wait was very long. When you have two small boys you have a very small window before they cone anxious. I ended up ordering the Chicken Fried Steak, my husband got the French Toast, and we got 2 kids plates. The food was definitely it how I remembered. My Chicken Fried Steak was just ok though the gravy was better than some places. My husbands food was also just ok and so were my kids. For the price that you pay, I expected a little more. I have way better breakfast locations near home. Maybe it's just this location? Bad experience overall on my visit during lunch hour on 01/05/25. Hostess was not the mostest; saw them on their cell phone often, a party that walked in behind me was put on the waiting list before me. Waited 30 mins to be seated (I should add we were a party of 2) and when we were finally seated hostess put us at one of several tables that had been cleaned and ready for more than 10 mins. Waitress was very friendly but got our order wrong and never came by to check on us. One staff stopped at our table and rudely said "your food is coming there are 2 tickets ahead of you ". Our water glasses were not refilled. When we were finally offered water we had finished eating and our plates long been picked up. We didn't get our check, I had to go to the register to ask for it and as I was signing the receipt the hostess walked away and did not give me my receipt. The food here was delicious. The wait staff was friendly. The receptionist could be friendlier. I enjoyed my plate and everyone else did until we got to the hash browns. They had no flavor to them. At all, what so ever. This was the only disappointing part of our visit. I'm not sure if the cook forgot to add some salt or flavorings but our hash brown tasted bland. Pretty good little breakfast joint. After reading other reviews it seems this place could be a hit or miss depending on what time you come. Came in on a Monday morning around 9 am and it was pretty much dead, service was excellent and food came out fast...maybe they can't handle heavy weekend traffic or something but we were in and out in no time. Loved their extensive menu, great varieties of breakfast and lunch...even Better on weekdays if you come between 6am-8am they have about ten $5 combos, seemed like a great value. Food here was great. I would highly recommend their omelets!!! They are gigantic I ate 1/2 and had the other half for dinner, how can you beat that for $11 two meals downs the hatch. I got the border check omelet it was one of the best I've ever had. It was filled with some of the best beef chorizo I've ever had, Jack cheese, and I substituted the jalapeños for onions so bomb! It also came with a side of hash browns and a muffin. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a cheap, filling breakfast meal...just make sure your aware that there could be a wait on the weekends or if you come too late in the morning. read more
