We arrived for a special birthday and Liliana gave us very poor service, no refills were provided. When asked for ranch she gave us one, and when asked for a separate plate of ranch she only gave us one empty extra dish. Took forever to get food. Milk tasted spoiled. Food was ok. I wouldn't say good. But not the worst. Kids meal said it was 6.95 but when bill came it was 7.45. Not big deal. Really not much out here during out stay in La Quinta so we ended up here for breakfast. It get's really busy, expect a wait. Service is fine, once you are seated, the food comes out quickly. Prices are pretty high for the quality served, most plates are over $10, and while the portions are generous, the only flavors they use here are salt. Nothing seemed fresh, not a fan of the breakfast or lunch items. Would not bother to return again. read more

If I could give them a -1 I would... we sat inside, after a short wait. We got menus and drink orders quickly. The water for my husband's tea was not even luke warm, so he asked for some hot water. The 2nd cup was even cooler, so we waited for our server. The server came, brought us hot water and took our order. We waited 50 minutes for our meal.... were told that the kitchen was really backed up (even though there were many empty tables) and our server brought us a bowl with a few "chunks" of fruit as a consolation. When the meals came, both of our plates were cold, the eggs (ordered over medium) were barely cooked, runny and cold, the toast was soggy, and I had one piece that was burnt. The hasbrowns were soggy. The muffins and orange juice were not fresh. With that said, my omlete was good and the bloody mary was tasty. Don't see my self returning anytime soon. Pure disappointment. Cold omelets came out before we even got our drink order. Manager Cory, was clearly overwhelmed, unapologetic, and unable to assist his server in any way. Over priced, food lukewarm, undercooked home fries, mile high omelet was a lot of onion and small thin pieces of ham, glass of apple juice Luke warm, slow service, waited 5 min before someone came to seat us after 3 employees looked at us. Not a busy place. Maybe 8 tables had customers. Took total of 1.5 hours to order, get order n get ticket to pay. Then 10 min before they took our payment. The experience I had at Broken Yolk Cafe was by the worst experience I've had at any restaurant. Here is an explanation of why- After being seated and ordering, everyone was served besides 3 people. Nobody came by to ask how everything was or check up on us. 20-30 minutes later...still no food for those three people. We flagged down a waitress for her to explain she must have forgotten about the food? At that point everyone had already finished their meals. Regardless, we agreed to wait. Mind you there was no "I'm so sorry" or anything of that nature. The food comes (breakfast burritos) not good...ill explain more later. Then, it came time to pay. Before placing our cards we asked if they split bills. They said yes it must takes them a little bit longer to swipe the cards. Us- okay, no problem. Not kidding you- It took over an hour. So we sat there then eventually I again, flagged down a waitress who said "the manager is still swiping your cards!" I was confused about the hour long process, and explained- if its easier, you can just put it all on one card to the waitress who had an extremely bad attitude. The manager then comes over and says he is swiping our cards and it'd take five more minutes. As you can guess by now..it did not take 5 minutes. I then went up to the manger to explain our whole experience. As I'm talking he literally says "stop talking so I can talk". Then fesses up that he made a mistake when billing our card. I gave him my card to run for the total- and he charges me more then what the original receipt stated. I asked for an itemized receipt and he was unable to provide. I completely understand a manager or anyone making a mistake but you would think after the mistake and poor service he would be kind vs. raising his voice at me and make rude remarks like "I can charge your card again if you'd like". This is again, coming from someone who has NEVER complained or given food back ONCE in her life. I left Broken Yolk with three different charges (totaling over $500)- all different amounts that took over 48 hours to clear once I was in communication with my bank. My friend later heated up my breakfast burrito to find egg shells. Not only was I disappointed in the food but more importantly the way I was treated and spoken to by management. I would hope that in the future when you put customers through a terrible experience you at least have the decency to be respectful and right your wrongs. I have never experienced customer service like that in my life. Owners, I would strongly recommend you to further look into the General Manager at this location. read more
