The entire team was attentive, calm, and genuinely caring from the moment we walked in. They took the time to listen, explained everything clearly, and made sure we felt supported throughout the visit. You can tell they truly care about the animals they treat. My dog was handled gently and thoughtfully, and we never felt rushed. It's stressful when your pet isn't feeling well, but they made the experience reassuring and professional.

I was a long-time client, and this last experience was disturbing enough that I've ended the relationship completely. In my view, this clinic is very quick to upsell and mark up fees when clients are vulnerable and under time pressure. I came in on 5/5/26 for an international health certificate and USDA endorsement for my psychiatric service dog. I sent all information up front, including that I have a documented disability and a prescription for a psychiatric service dog. Instead of handling that professionally, staff repeatedly talked to me as if I was trying to "game the system," saying things like "when people come, they bring a letter," and pushed back when I tried to preserve some privacy. Once I did provide the letter I had the entire time, the owner's first move was to try to add extra, unrelated services that were not required, and then imply she'd "mark things OK" on the certificate as if she was doing me a favor. The invoice tells its own story: $81 for the exam and $17 for medication, but then $189 for the "International Health Certificate," $238 for "USDA electronic endorsement VEHCS," and another $189 for "USDA Rabies Certificate Endorsement," for a total of $714. USDA's own fee schedule for endorsement is far lower than what they labeled as "USDA" endorsement charges, and they had already added a separate clinic fee for their services. In my opinion, that is an outrageous markup of what are presented as federal endorsement costs, especially when a disabled client is relying on them to follow the rules. The endorsement itself was processed by the USDA the same day it was submitted on 5/5. I did not hear anything from the clinic on 5/6 or 5/7 -- no proactive update, no documents, and no word about the "refund" they had told me I might receive depending on what USDA charged. I had to chase them for basic information and for copies of documents that I needed, regardless of any fee dispute. Only after I escalated did I get a voicemail from the owner claiming they had been "disputing with USDA," which had never been communicated earlier. The office manager also tried to tell me the VEHCS system "asks for a letter" as if that justified their resistance, when in reality the system requires the vet to answer whether the dog is a service animal and what tasks it's trained to do. I've seen the system myself. The way they handled this felt less like a good-faith attempt to follow federal rules and more like protecting their markup. This isn't a one-off. When my previous elderly dog was seen shortly before she passed, I was presented with a workup of bloodwork, X‑rays, and other tests around $1,000, and then given a verbal cancer diagnosis almost immediately after the X‑rays, before blood results could reasonably have been reviewed. I never received a call with those blood results. Even though the same owner accommodated me when I couldn't be present for euthanasia, none of that history translated into any sensitivity or accommodation this time around. To be clear, I'm willing to pay for the actual exam and medication. I've disputed the remaining $616 in certificate/"USDA" charges with my bank and will take it to small claims court if I have to. In my view, this clinic mishandled a straightforward request, overcharged heavily for endorsement-related items, and treated a disabled client as if they were trying to get away with something instead of providing clear, honest service. I've since moved to a different vet who was able to handle the paperwork promptly and transparently. I would recommend anyone with a disability, a service animal, or international travel needs to think very carefully before trusting Inwood Animal Clinic with critical paperwork or relying on them for clear, upfront pricing.

The staff was kind, welcoming, and took their time explaining everything throughout the visit--I never felt rushed. The only thing they could improve on is time management. My appointment was scheduled for 12:45, I arrived a little early, but I wasn't seen until around 2:00 PM, so the wait was about an hour and 20 minutes. Overall though, I would definitely recommend them. I only paid $200 for my kitten's first vet visit, which is a huge plus compared to other vet prices I was quoted. Pricing was very upfront with no hidden fees. I'd say give them a try I'll be back. This is the Webster location !

To have the entire staff be so caring, attending, comforting, and professional, is truly a one in a million situation. When I came in with an emergency with my little pup, Dr. Diego Milano kept a clear mind, an empathetic attitude, and a compassionate heart. He took such good care of my boy, my gratitude is too much to vocalize. once we were checked in to our room, he checked on my baby every 10-15 minutes, made sure both of us were ok, and stayed on top of our situation even though I heard multiple critical situations happening outside. He balanced everything so well and i really take my hat off to him. he was amazing. As for the overnight nurse, Caroline, I'm at a loss for words for how golden her heart is. She took such good care of both me and my baby. She understood the anxiety an owner feels going through this situation and went out of her way to ensure i was doing good too. she checked on my baby every 10 minutes. any time i needed to step away to use the bathroom, she stayed with my baby. she was so gentle and kind with him. you can tell shes doing her job out of passion and care. Shes one of a kind and truly a gem. I could cry just writing about the care she provided for us. When the shift changed to the daytime staff, I was a little worried about the transition and sad to see Caroline and Dr. Milano go. I was worried about who was going to take care of us now because of the genuine top tier care we had received, how could you match that? but. they did. Dr. Andre and nurse Christina were our doctor and nurse after the shift change. They were just as kind, just as compassionate, just as professional, and just as empathetic. They made the night to day transition so smooth. They were completely filled in, treated me with just as much respect and empathy, and had me crying tears of joy as I left this hospital. I can't speak enough kind words for this facility and the entire staff. Even when my nurse or doctor were helping other patients, other nurses made themselves readily available and willing to help me and my baby and make us feel comfortable and ok. This was truly one of the hardest nights of my entire life but this facility and the staff working here made it manageable. For the staff reading this, I thank you again and send you my kindest regards. You guys are truly angels and what you're doing is a beautiful thing and your hearts are made of gold. Thank you all.

If your pet has an actual emergency, a complex health issue, or multiple health concerns, this is not the place. If you're in the UES, just go to the Animal Medical Center. I brought my cat here thinking maybe it would be OK, but I ended up waiting a minimum of 20 minutes without being seen. My own vet actually called me while I was there to follow-up regarding prior treatment. When I told him where I was, he advised me to go to the Animal Medical Center which is very close. The issue is that only one veterinarian available, so when you're seen depends on how busy it is. A bigger hospital has multiple vets and vet techs on staff, so they can see multiple animals at the same time. The staff was friendly, but they seem easily distracted and overly cheerful, like it was an office party. This is meant to be an ER. Sometimes you need people to be serious. They have a big board where they supposedly do triage, but I don't believe they really take pets according to level of care needed. For some reason, my pet's name never made it up onto the board, so I kept waiting for the vet to take a look. They kept saying they had really sick pets to see first. (My cat stayed at the AMC for 3 days and 2-3 nights.) Eventually I up and left because my cat needed to be seen right away and they kept skipping over us and telling us they'd get to us, which did not happen. When I was leaving, the receptionist was trying to get me to stay even though we were never seen. I really don't know what kind of health issues would warrant a visit here versus an actual vet emergency room. Having been to AMC, I can't say I would ever come back or recommend this type of facility.

At almost every other vet I have used, except emergency hospitals, I have been able to be present for exams, vaccines, and procedures to comfort my pet. I was told this was a COVID policy, but years later it is still enforced and it feels outdated. Another concern is privacy. Sensitive conversations are held in the lobby in front of everyone, which feels uncomfortable. Even large corporations like Petco state on their website that pet parents are allowed to stay with their animals during visits. If a corporation can allow it, a smaller clinic should too. The staff and doctors themselves are fine, but these policies take away from the good work they are trying to do. Overall the clinic is okay, yet the approach feels cold and out of touch with the needs of both pets and their owners.
