Today 7-6-26 I brought my 4month old baby girl in to see the vet. Unfortunately she hurt herself running from the sound of fireworks not sure if its fractured or not. Let me start by saying the lady at the front desk was such a sweetheart. She answered all my questions an understood my concerns. Im a first time SMALL dog owner so this is all new to me. The place is small but it is very clean. I felt comfortable and i know my baby girl did too. The (DVM) who saw us today was DR Sean Soliman He asked a lot of questions and took the time explaining all my options, as well as him taking the time to understand my financial situation. I feel he did try his best to help me as much as possible with keeping my bill as low as we could and not run a bunch of unnecessary test. My baby needs a x-ray an i can not afford it right now so i settled for (PLAN B- pain management) in hopes i can get a appointment with the aspca or humane society as soon as possible. We were patients of Dr. Soliman the Elder, who might as well have been James Herriot--I trusted him completely, which is saying a lot, and now we are patients of Dr. Soliman the Younger, who is just marvelous. His staff is also excellent--the nurse was extremely gentle and skilled with my very scared cat, and Dr. S. gives you so much time and is very straightforward but kind, and he will tell you if he thinks you don't need a service. I have seen several vets around the city in the past 20+ years, including cats-only practices. This is the best place I have ever taken my cats for care. read more

Do Not bring your animal to this Vet! They will try to give your dog unnecessary boosters in an effort to make money. When I told the Vet my dog had already had all the boosters, they then went on to give me some BS answer. I called my previous vet who confirmed that the booster was NOT needed. I walked out without get the unnecessary boosters and I will NOT be going back! Find ANOTHER VET! read more

Picked this place for our new puppy after so many good reviews from friends who also go there and we are absolutely in love! Dr. Soliman made us and our little girl very comfortable. We thought it would be weird to not be able to go in with her (covid policy) but Dr. Soliman spent a ton of time talking to us and explaining everything both on the phone and in person outside. Dr. Solomon saved my dog Kessie's life. A couple of months ago she was stung by a bee and went into anaphylactic shock and without an appointment I rushed her into his office and without hesitation he took her into his care with his staff immediately and got her stable to the point for me to take her to the Emergency animal hospital in White Plains and today she is flourishing again. Dr. Sean Soliman is one of the best vets my dog has ever had. After recently moving to the Bronx, it was difficult for me to find a competent, compassionate vet in the area. Dr. Soliman is clearly very intelligent, knows his veterinary medicine, and has excellent bedside manner. He follows up regularly and ensures that the treatment he prescribes is working. He also does not pressure you into pursuing expensive and potentially invasive treatments if he truly does not feel it will be beneficial. However, he does inform you of all the possible treatment options and is very transparent about the pricing. Many vets out there are not sensitive to the fact that vet services can place a huge financial toll on pet parents and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Solimon is just the opposite. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my elderly beagle dog. He had advanced kidney disease. Thanks to Dr. S, I was able to enjoy him for at least 3 more months before deciding to finally let him rest. His receptionist and vet techs are also very friendly and are quite responsive. Very disappointing to start off my dog has been in severe pain which warrants an emergency visit! We called and were told to come in sign paperwork and wait to be called. Well we get there and the extremely rude receptionist said they do no such thing and that they had 6 pets and were too busy to handle an emergency. What kind of cold harder vet would turn an animal in pain. He needs new staff and some compassion. We called another vet on Westchester sq and they so polite, compassionate and accommodating we are on our way there now. That is customer service and compassion. read more

I recently got a new kitten from one of my coworkers, who took care of them in her backyard. I was unsure exactly how old she was, if she had any parasites from being outside, and just wanted to make sure she was able to get vaccinated and treated for any issues she may have had. My best friend Christina referred me to Dr. Sean Soliman on Morris Park Ave at the Bronx County Animal Hospital and I must say, they were AMAZING. From the receptionist who called to confirm my appointment, to the nurse and Doctor, I would recommend this vet to anyone who wants their animal to be taken care of the right way. They showed nothing but love to my Willow girl, and she was very playful with all of the staff. Dr. Soliman explained everything to me and told me what his plan was to get her boosters. He answered all of my questions without me even having to ask! I'm actually excited to go back in October to get Willows second round of boosters, because I know they will treat her nicely and efficiently. Disappointed- Wonderful staff... horrible Vet. Disrespectful, unprofessional and incompetent. Doesn't know the difference between export pet and travel pet. I went blocks to Animal Hospital at Morris Park and they knew exactly what to do and how to do it with compassion and professionalism. I paid the walk in fee of 110 dollars with pleasure. I'm annoyed that I have to give this place even 1-star. I am taking the time to write this review so anyone who loves their pet can avoid this place. My 8 year old dog (female, spayed) developed a huge lump on her nipple overnight. My initial fear, of course, was that she had a tumor. Logically, however, I realized that tumors don't grow the size of a large grape overnight, so I figured it was some kind of cyst. That is the first thing I told the vet, "It appeared over a 12 hour period so I'm assuming it can't be a tumor." Before even looking at my dog he gave me a response of, "No, you just didn't notice it was there before." In an unlit room he had his assistant hold my dog up and in 2 seconds told me it was a tumor and it's probably cancer. Immediately, I was upset. I wanted to know what the next steps were, what my options were, how much it would cost, etc. etc. THE only option provided to me was a $1400 option of blood work, biopsy, tumor removal surgery and additional costs for treatment if the cancer had spread. I again asked what my options were and rather than presenting me with them, the vet looked at me like I was a monster and asked why I wouldn't pay. I told him point blank that I may not have $1400 and I'm not sure how much my husband would be willing to spend on a dog with cancer. The vet then asked if I had a job and when I said I did he told me I could fill out paperwork for a loan. I left furious and emotionally distraught. The next day, after taking time to think about it, I took my dog to the vet further up Morris Park Ave, near Williamsbridge Ave. The vet had a LIT office and started by taking my dogs temperature, weighing her, and giving her a physical exam (NONE OF THIS WAS DONE AT BRONX ANIMAL HOSPITAL!) before he looked at the dogs nipple and said it was a CYST, not cancer. He took some of the contents of the cyst out to assure me that it was not a tumor. My dog had an infection and needed 10 days of antibiotics. The cyst is now totally gone and my dog is back to normal. Do NOT support this business!! I am convinced that had I laid down my credit card, my dog would have been operated on unnecessarily in the name of making money!! I paid $80. FOR WHAT?? I left with zero information and my dog wasn't even given the check up I paid for! FOR SHAME BRONX COUNTY ANIMAL HOSPITAL! read more

I have been going to The Bronx County Animal Hospital since the Senior Dr. Soliman started seeing my Max 11 years ago. The younger Dr. Soliman took over after his father passed away and he is wonderful. My Max was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure a few months back. Dr. Soliman has been empathic, takes his time with my Max, calls me at home after hours with results and even comes out to car with an update, while waiting for results from the radiologist. There is NO ONE else I would trust with my Max. I highly recommend this office. Great staff too. read more

This was my very 1st time at this clinic. I completely understand when someone is late, they have to attend to other patients first. Patients that are already there. I was told since I was late they have to attend to other appts whether they are there or not. Which does not make sense. Now, this is when I started to get annoyed, when they called my dog, I was told I have to wait outside (store front - See the seats in picture). This is unexpectable. My first time there and I cannot go in with my dog? All the communication was through the assistant. Not once did I see the Vet. He did not come out and introduce himself or anything. I was already uncomfortable giving my animal (which I consider a family member) to someone and not know what they're doing to him or treating him. The vet calls on your phone and asks what is it that your pet needs? When I scheduled the appt I was very clear on what was required. Also, I provided 3 years worth of vaccination papers to him. As my dog was inside without me, I opened the entrance door and told the assistant I do not feel comfortable my dog being without me in the room. She went to the back and informed the VET - 2 mins later she comes out with my dog and informs me the doctor refused to attend to my dog because I have too many question and I do not trust him. I was in SHOCK. How can I trust you if I never saw you? You as a professional never introduced yourself to a fist time patient. In addition, my dog was just in the ER, which I emailed him the lab results. I have question and concerns. As I was very upset the assistant had my dog in her hands and was about to place my dog on the ground without a leash and was closing the door in my face. I told her she is rude and unprofessional. She said "well you are talking about the doctor so I have nothing to say to you" and closed the door again. I have never in my life seen such unprofessionalism. I understand we are still in a pandemic however, the owner of the pet should be allowed inside mask on with her pet. One Patient at a time. I have had inconsistent experiences with this Vets office. The difference is in the Vet on duty. Dr. Soliman is definitely the more knowledgeable and best choice to see your pet for serious issues. Dr. Kearney is good for routine check ups only. Both doctors are very friendly, and handle the animals well. Either way if there is a serious issue, get informed before committing to any treatment. The staff has rotated, but the Vet assistant's have always been good, personable, and helpful. The front desk has been hit or miss over the years, but for the most part, the majority handles their jobs. I had a really good experience this week with making a last minute appointment and following up on appointment times. This is a good option for the neighborhood. read more

For my first visit at this Vet for my baby it wasn't a bad experience at all. The ladies in front were quite but attentive. The doctor was very funny and good with my baby. Just wish there was a bigger waiting area. I'm just a little worried about after the sedative given to my baby, he is not walking normally. When nothing was wrong with his legs in the first place. I must say that I have gone to various Vets, some were insensitive and others really wanted to give me high end estimates. My Yorkie (Daimondgirl) had a huge mammary tumor that had to be removed via surgery ASAP. I found this office in error, it was after hours but there was someone in the office. I went in and the receptionist took care of me immediately. She scheduled an appointment for me the following day. She was attentive, helpful and understanding. The following day I saw Dr. Soliman - a wonderful Vet over 40 years of experience. He was wonderful, caring attentive and extremely understanding. They proceeded to give my baby her yearly vaccines, drew blood and said they will not perform surgery if their was any abnormalities. I was called immediately advising me of Diamonds blood results and surgery was scheduled. The Doctor was more than reasonable.. a god send. Thank you. I will keep coming back. read more

I brought my puppy in for his first visit after purchasing him from a local breeder. I was nervous and the size of the waiting room did not ease my tension at all and there were many dogs waiting ahead of us. My appointment was at 3 and my puppy and I weren't seen until 3:50. There is one exam room and its right outside the waiting room. My puppy was having stomach and diarrhea problems after the first 2 days of being home with us and since this was his first exam after my purchase I also brought a stool sample to the visit in a big plastic bag mind you which as I researched other vets offices is a requirement upon first visit. My dog was never weighed, no blood drawn and was barely examined. Luckily my puppy had just had a vaccination administered earlier in the week. The doctor did find fleas on my puppy which probably jumped on his from being in the waiting room alone! The vet had a heavy accent and I believe at one point he called my 8 week old puppy a flea bag! If I had heard correctly I would have stormed out and never in a million years paid for the 35 dollar office visit which did absolutely nothing for my dog because I just called today to follow up on the stool sample that I had left with them and the less than friendly receptionist said the vet's assistant must not have never sent in the stool to the lab because when you left you were not charged for a stool examination. I said well lady I was not bringing in the poop just so you all could stare at it and hung up the phone. I immediately have made another appointment to see another vet. I found the whole experience uncomfortable and a complete waste of money considering the reason why I went (stomach, abnormal bowel movements) was never followed up on! Run away fast from this place and save your $$$ and your pet's health. oh and when I paid via credit card for the visit I was asked for ID, maybe if I was buying stuff from victoria's secret that would have been appropriate but not at a vet's office. read more

Had already changed vets but friend brought my pet here b/c it was only for a simple visit to have a rabies shot. Turns out dog was given 3 vaccine boosters that he not only was not due for but without my permission or notification. I was never given the opportunity to agree or decline. My friend was not in the exam room and would've called to ask me if they had asked her but they didn't. It wasn't until I looked at the itemized bill that i saw he had received them. That isn't why i am writing this review. I called the vet upon learning this to just express my disappointment and my concern (my dog already had those vaccines and wasn't due), and I was absolutely shocked by Dr. Solimon responded. I called for a week w/out any return call until that day when I called and refused to hang up without speaking to the him. His first question was what reason did i have for wasting his time, and that although I did not want the vaccines he technically still provided my dog with the vaccines so I still had to pay for them. His logic astounded me and it as also pretty upsetting that he was acting like this was purely about money. He was incredibly nasty, and I'd never experienced this from him the few times i'd brought my dog here. I was trying to explain my concerns and he spoke over me saying things like, "STOP talking and listen to me". He asked me if my friend had a paper with her detailing the service i wanted and I said actually yes she did- bec i'd given it to her- to which he responded that I didn't know since i wasn't there. He also asked me why i was having someone else bring my dog for me which is irrelevant. He was speaking very loudly seemed irate and accusatory, saying things a professional should not say to a client. It wasn't even a conversation anymore b/c he wasn't letting me talk and I ultimately hung up b/c it seemed like a futile situation. He wasn't even being reasonable. I can't believe i ever trusted him to care for my pet and knew that i had made the right decision in changing vets. But still it's disappointing b/c even if i hadn't been a fan of the place i had still believed he was a decent person. read more
