So I went to a local bike shop in the east village call BikeFix and I really lucked up. BikeFixNYC is for anyone out there like me that spent several thousand for an ebike from California that has no support/mechanics here in NYC. Surron, Super73, Onyx, Ghostcat, Revv1, PowerGoat, you name it and BikeFix got you. They honestly do not disappoint. Plus they're honest and trustworthy. I brought my PG V3 for some new rear shocks and Greg did a phenomenal job. He also removed some pegs that I had difficulty with. I won't take my bike anywhere else!

I give the $20 and they argue with me, and someone not involved gets involved and I feel like I'm being attacked. I leave the shop again, and the back tire, just "fixed" is completely flat by the time I got home 5 blocks. I thought the shop was going to be OK, but I cannot recommend it. They been scamming for years and years. Everybody in the heights always says do not come here , they just lie to your face, Dominicans just getting drunk watching tv with people who don't even work there, the whole place is disorganized, and every time I talk to victor He is always Drunk. But when Victor, waiting in the street, saw us approach with a loaded bike and flat tire, he grabbed the bike and had it on the repair stand faster than most people say hello. We were riding into Manhattan for a birthday celebration and Victor had us on our way quickly. He even adjusted a brake and offered a bungee cord to help our journey. This guy probably isn't a speed shop, but there are fewer and fewer people like him in the world. Note that he says he's open 360 days a year including New Years... this is clearly his passionate avocation.

I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Larry's Freewheeling…read more A seller on Craigslist purchased a Marin Fairfax 1 from this shop and sold it to me as "like new." When I picked up the bike, a Larry's technician certified it as ready to ride after a tune-up. Within minutes of riding it, the gears began slipping badly. The chain came off entirely shortly after. I took the bike to another shop, which diagnosed worn cassette, crankset, and chain -- components that don't wear out from minimal use. Either Larry's failed to notice this during multiple tune-ups, or they noticed and said nothing. Either way, the bike was certified as rideable when it was not. When I called Larry's to report this, rather than taking any responsibility, a staff member became belligerent and told me I was "ignorant." That response alone tells you everything you need to know about how this shop treats customers when something goes wrong. I ended up paying $180 in repairs to make the bike actually rideable. Incompetent work and rude staff when confronted about it. Go elsewhere.
