I ordered through Uber eats for lunch and I liked the food somewhat. The honeybbq wings were kinda cold and I didn't really like them. I should have just played it safe and went with plain wings. I also ordered the fried fish/fried shrimp with Frenchfries. The fried fish I def. didn't like and was way too soggy. Their fried shrimp was soooo good!

Sooooo... I can't really say there are many soul food restaurants in the Bronx, let alone one that is Super Bomnmmmmmmbbbbbb!!! Ok. So you see in the pic right??? The goodness that was in that plate? Or the lone French fry? The fry was swiped from my sons plate along with the fried chicken I ordered him ( it fought a good fight) ... Overall this restaurant is a whole gem and if you want some great soul food along with pleasant service I suggest you run on over or I don't know what else to tell ya‍

Large Fish and Shrimp Combo, Collar Greens, and Turkey Neck, Mac and Cheese

So I was craving soul food (which I usually have access to in bk), and wanted to try one in the Bronx area. My boyfriend said that a few people recommended it to him and one stated the Mac and cheese was good. So here's my summed up review per category: Customer Service: 5 [1 I overheard someone complain about the Mac and Cheese via phone, and the receptionist handled it well by offering her to come back and she will fix/adjust what the customer was unsatisfied with] Location: 5 [maybe two blocks away from Gunhill 5train station] VERY SMALL...PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT TO DINE HERE! Food (large whitening fish and shrimp with Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens): 3 . . The portion size was great for a large. However, you get 5 shrimps and 3 pieces of whitening filet. I am a short distant from the restaurant, and by the time I arrived home, the food was warm-cold. The shrimp was "good", some pieces were overcooked. As for the fish? It LACKED in flavor, but with the hot sauce and tauter sauce, I was able to deal with it. The best thing I had was the collard greens (it was flavorful and pretty soft), they were definitely NOT oily! The worst thing was the Mac and Cheese (unfortunately). I wanted to like it sooooooooo bad, but I could NOT get jiggy with it. A previous reviewer mentioned that it was "kind of sweet", and I have to agree 1000%. It gave me Baked Kraft Mac and Cheese instead of "SOUTHERN SOUL MAC AND CHEESE". Now... would I eat here again?! If I'm just ordering shrimp and collard greens then yes! Maybe I would try the yams , but the Mac and Cheese? Nah!

The only good thing I was the fast delivery. I ordered the large whiting dinner. The fish was stale and "fishy", the Mac and cheese tasted like something in it was spoiled and the "candied" yams tasted like a boiled sweet potato mashed up. I also ordered wings which was the only hot food I received. They were pretty good. Not ordering again.

Taste: 3 Environment: 2 Customer Service: 3 Set Up: 2 So this place is along Gun Hill Road so it is easy to get to by public transportation. This place is spoken so well about on TV so I wanted to try it for myself. When I first walked in this place has something I hate with most businesses, a tablet with no credit card machines that work. One word is Square. If you don't have cash you go next door to the bodega and spend $1.75 to pull cash out or Chase bank up the block. Second thing I hate is when you list food that isn't there. I wanted catfish and they don't have it only whiting, so I settled for just BBQ chicken. So I got BBQ Chicken, Mac & Cheese and Black-eyed Peas. Black-eyed Peas had no type of flavor. Mac & Cheese taste decent, it is sweet but needs some black pepper. The Chicken was also decent not the best but ok. The price was reasonable but honestly it just wasn't appealing, the other sides look like they was seasoned less or store bought out of a can. Revise your menu to be more appealing, add seasoning, repair the credit card machine, and also more friendly staff. Soul food is more than food, its love and heart and enjoyment. This is like southern food nothing more.

The timing was fast because I ordered from door dash. The food itself was a 1.5/10 (and I'm just being nice about it because I could've left it as a 0). The food didn't even have a good smell to it. They only gave me 2/5 items I PAID for. Of course I issued a refund (so I ate free). In all my life I've never ever hated food (and I'm a big girl) but it was terrible. Yams tasted sour and you can taste it was can made because it tasted like the metal of the can. The bbq chicken was the only thing good. I ain't even want to post a photo because it look good on camera but taste horrific. I do not recommend. Soul food and the Bronx should not mix.

Fried whiteing, collard greens and macaroni and cheese

I give them a three out of five. The yams that wasn't pictured was really good. the fried whiting I didn't get fresh and it did not have any flavor. The collar greens was OK. won't go back, but I'd like to experience.

This is not Soulfood. this is shameful. Tried to place an order on the phone I was told no and there was barely a wait once we came in I think they had to catch the catfish because that how long it took to prepare it. Now, the Mac and cheese? Who did this? Dry burnt and cheeseless.Blackeye peas hard, yams are ok, cabbage, NO. BBQ chicken is BBQish, this is West Indian potato salad not southern potato salad! The best thing about the food was the bowls it came in!!! You should be paying us to eat it!!!! And Furthermore you should be ashamed for tying to pass this off as SOUTHERN CUISINE! Are you kidding me? Don't even give this food away for free to the essential workers! Never again, Channel 12 needs to pull that commercial because it's BOGUS!!!!

Turkey wings (supposed to be just fried not this bbq shit) Mac & cheese , and yams (somewhere under the juice/oil /fatty grease).

I ordered here for the first time through UberEats I was excited to see what Bronx soul food had to offer considering my family is from the south.. I ordered fried turkey wings Mac and cheese and yams. I got what looke likes bbq turkey wings mold Mac and cheese and the yams were not only smushed under the turkey wings but was swimming in (I don't know if it was ) oil ,juice,..this shit is just gross. I have been trying to support minority and small businesses especially during these times. But horrible meals like these ruin not only my experience with that restaurant but with food in general! Save your coins folks , cook at home!

The turkey wings were falling off the bone, cooked very well. The sauce was more than generous and I'm not complaining. It had a bunch of flavor . The yams and rice were spot on as well. One of the better soul food spots I came across in the Bronx !!

So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

I remember when Fish N' Ting first opened several years ago and I'm pleased to know that this family run establishment is still kicking. I would put it in my top five list for Jamaican restaurants in the city. The menu is wide and varying and accommodating of different diets. If you love jerk chicken, you need to try it here! The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!

I was deciding between the turkey salad and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta from the lunch specials and asked our server how the chicken salad was, She said it was her favorite and that it was a lot of people's go-to, so I decided to order that. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Heritage Nachos, Loaded Tater Tot Skillet, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta. The nachos weren't really for me (I didn't love the type of chips used), but the tots were good and my boyfriend liked his cheesesteak. I absolutely loved the chicken salad sandwich and fries. I get a little fixated on foods I like, so I had honestly been craving that sandwich ever since. 3/14 SECOND VISIT: I decided to come back on March 14 specifically hoping to order the chicken salad sandwich again. It was much busier due to St. Patrick's weekend,I was alone, I was seated in a booth in the back. I was given the dinner menu, so I asked the server about the chicken salad sandwich I had previously ordered. She didn't recognize the sandwich but offered to ask the kitchen after I showed her a photo and the menu from my previous visit. Unfortunately she came back and said they couldn't make it. She suggested a grilled chicken sandwich, but I declined since I'm not really a fan of grilled chicken. I ended up ordering the turkey sandwich and asked for a few modifications (no stuffing or cranberry mayo, just regular mayo on a ciabatta). When the food came out, I immediately knew it wasn't turkey. I waited until the server came back and asked her to confirm what meat was on the sandwich. She initially told me it was turkey. After taking it apart & having a few bites I knew it wasn't turkey. I winded up eating the fries and asking for the bill. I decided to show her the inside of the sandwich again and asked her to double check with the kitchen, she returned and confirmed it was actually ham, even though the ticket showed that she ordered turkey. She did offer to remake the sandwich, but it would have taken another 10-15 minutes and at that point I was already over it. I ended up just paying, and leaving. I completely understand that menus change and servers can't memorize every item. I just wish the sandwich had been confirmed with the kitchen sooner when I questioned it the first time. Overall, my first visit was great, and that chicken salad sandwich was honestly amazing. I just wish the second visit had gone a little smoother.

To make matters worse, one person in our group didn't receive his meal until everyone else had already finished eating. The owner stopped by and casually explained that this "sometimes happens on busy days," and offered us drinks for the inconvenience--but we were still charged for them at the end. When we brought this up to our server, she claimed she wasn't aware of the offer, and we ended up paying full price for everything. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, with very poor customer service.
