Initially when they first opened, they had a constant variety of food readily available with two women working efficiently. Now, service is slow as hell, meaning waiting for 20-30 mins for an order and often times they have very limited menu items available. Unfortunately the cornbread was going to take 20 extra minutes but they called to inform me and gave me an option for a different side so i substituted it for corn. Every time I order food it comes wrong. The service is poor and is not managed properly. When I call the restaurant the person who answers the phone doesn't speak English well and doesn't understand what you are saying. The manager is never there for you to complain to so there will be no improvement. This leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I happen to run across this restaurant by mistake while walking around gun hill road with my boyfriend. He said he had heard great things about it so me and him decided to give it a try. This restaurant is a tiny gem in the gun hill are. They have amazing soul food here. I got the baked chicken with macaroni and cheese and sweet yams and it was delicious. The chicken fell off the bone and had amazing flavor. The Mac and cheese was nice and cheesy with good seasoning. Now let's get to the yams. I've never been a fan of yams because of the sweetness and most people make them with marshmallows and I don't like that. These in the other hand were perfectly sweet with a hint of saltiness that brought out the sweetness. The food here is amazing! They have turkey neck, bbq chicken, collard greens, potato salad and more. They also have great staff. The owner is super sweet and has a great vibe.
