Ok - so about 2 years ago I wrote a one-star review for the worst tanning experience I've had in life. And it is AWESOME. The girls that work there are super nice and friendly, the place is clean, the owner is extremely friendly with a cool dog, the services are great, lots of variety. . . If you check it out, you just have to remember - it's not a Bay Area tanning place without the Bay Area price tag. $35 for a high-pressure tan or spray tan (lower for the reg tan and the price drops with packages. ) But with that price tag comes quality. More than any place I've been to, I feel like I get what I pay for with amazing service, great beds, and little touches like warm/cold towels, hair ties, baby wipes, water bottles, etc on the house. Wow so disgusted with the poor customer service at this place. Cancelled my membership for a multitude of reasons including the broken cocoon, never having water or clean towels in the rooms, and the employees texting at the front desk instead of paying attention. I even had one employee make me wait to get checked in because she was on the phone with someone about purchasing a cat....? Seriously?! Anyways, I got confirmation that it was cancelled, then was charged again. When I reached out for them to rectify the situation there response was they would not refund my money but give me a free spray tan??? I paid for the highest membership as is.....spray tans are already included. I am so happy to be done doing business with this establishment. Not only is this place really clean, the staff is beyond knowledgeable about their equipment and products. Plus, they're nice, which is a great break from the usual high school snot working behind the counter at most tanning salons! (You know who I'm talking about!) Their beds always get me tan, especially with lotion, and their prices are very good! I really don't think you can beat their prices, especially for the new machines that they have! I started going here after La Bella Donna closed - the staff is very nice and knowledgeable and they have a great selection of lotions to chose from. I found out today that they are moving a few stores over into a bigger space to accommodate more tanners!! I'm excited to see the new spot! Also, they have thought of everything that a person might need before and after tanning - they provide hair ties, hand sanitizer, stickers, towels and even deodorant spray for those who smell a bit ripe after tanning! Well, I was just there today to have my legs spray tanned. I've never done this before and was quite clear that this was only for my legs. We discussed the darkness and I chose a level 2 with a "clear" coat rather than a "bronze" coat. One of the employees entered my information and the other confirmed twice that I wanted only my legs tanned. Since I'd never done this before I wanted her to go over all the directions, which she did. I followed the directions exactly. I also got sprayed in the face because they have programmed the machine to do a full body tan. So, my entire front side, my face with glasses, and my hair got sprayed, as well as the rest of me. I of course got out, got dressed and went out to tell her what just happened. No apology, rather, she asked me, "are you sure?" Then she told me the other employee was new and then she reprogrammed the machine. I had to ask what to do about my face arms, hair, etc. She then told me to "use the wipes." I had to ask her, "what wipes?" Then she pointed to them. I then got my legs sprayed. Of course, the front of my legs got sprayed twice, and the sides and back only once. They didn't refund me, they didn't apologize, I had to get home as fast as I legally could and wash my face, arms, neck, chest, and hair in the kitchen sink, because I can't get my legs wet for 6-8 hours. My wedding is tomorrow, and all I can do is hope that my face and neck aren't discolored tomorrow....with a white strip where my glasses were. I also hope it doesn't do anything to my hair. I know this place has 4.5 stars on Yelp, and I know mistakes happen, but the way it was handled was as bad as being unexpectedly sprayed in the face with tanning solution. Ugh. read more

This place is great! The service is great, it's super clean and the atmosphere is really inviting. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. The owner, Emily I believe, was really helpful when I wanted to purchase some tanning lotions. She was really knowledgeable and spent quite a bit of time helping me pick out the right ones for me. I felt really good about my decision to do the unlimited monthly tanning because this is such a great place. I'm in the salon business so I really appreciate all of the extra touches that they do for you. The water and chilled washcloths are great and it's the kind of place where they remember your name. I can really appreciate that having a couple hundred clients myself. I recommend this place to my own clients! read more

I don't go to tanning salons too often, but when the weather is getting nice I'm not one to blind people by my skin that has been in hibernation all winter. So I found Bronze on Yelp! and decided to try it out. I love it! I used the Matrix and found it was much cheaper than when I have used the same bed at another place. I'm as pale as a ghost, life has just been to busy to get "bronzed" lately! I decided to go in yesterday for a little UV pick-me-up and received the sweetest, most pleasant surprise!! In my "special little cubby" where I keep my peepers & lotion, was a little treat for my daughter. Emily & Stevie (the owners) know I have a little girl and are always so sweet and adore her! They had a T-shirt made for her that read, " My Mommy Tans at Bronze!" AWE!! It was soooo cute! My little princess was THRILLED to receive such a special and thoughtful gift. She wore it all night last night and it was a battle to remove it this morning before the shower! :) Asside from the over the top level of customer service, kindness, and friendship that Bronze gives me....they also make sure to stay a TOP NOTCH SALON offering only the BEST!!! Bronze Tanning is the nicest tanning salon in the bay area that I've been to. They are VERY CLEAN, have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and ALWAYS MANAGE TO GET ME IN ON TIME for my tanning sessions. I tan regularly and come all the way from Burlingame to Belmont just to tan there because I know they can offer me great service for my money. I've watched them clean the beds and they don't miss a spot. They even made sure to clean the handle bars and pillows on the bed!! I've been to other tanning salons where they have dirty lotion streaks on the beds or even expect you to clean after yourself. At Bronze tanning, the towels are always clean, they even provide deodorant so you don't leave smelling bad. I like to go to salons where I feel comfortable (comfort to me is a clean salon with nice helpful staff) and I have always felt comfortable tanning here. The bed I like best at Bronze is the Matrix. Every time I've tanned in this bed, I leave with a perfect tan that last for over a month! I wanted to look extra tan before a concert I went to so I tanned in the Matrix then spray tanned in the Versa Spa in the same day. I will definitely tan this way for my next big event! I recommend bronze to anyone who likes a clean salon with pleasant feel and staff who is more than willing share there knowledge. read more

I just wanted to get a couple tans in before Vegas so I didn't look pasty at the pool. I called and made an appointment same day and it was no issue at all. They were very helpful and told me about the specials they had going on and what the different beds were. The beds with the face tanners are awesome! I have been to several tanning salons in my life. I've never been in such unique beds as this place. They are apparently healthier for your skin and not as harsh either. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the prices are fair for the quality of beds and service that they offer. Its the little things about this place that make it all worth the price and possibly having to wait if you don't make an appointment...like all the stereos in the beds seem to actually work, they leave a wet hand towel, a dry hand towel, stickers, spray deodorant, a miniature bottled water etc all in the room for you once you check in. Also, they offer special deals on lotions etc throughout the year. One great thing that gave me a lot of respect for this company, was the fact that they worked with old customers that came from La Bella Donna Tanning that still had prepaid packages. Basically they were willing to give you those tans you paid for if you bought another package from them. For those of you that don't know, La Bella Donna Tanning's permanent location has shut down, so this was a great business move for them to honor the packages that were already fully paid! read more

11/09/14: I'm back at Bronze. I was a member at another salon in Menlo Park (A Perfect Tan) for over 2 years, but came back for Bronze and signed up for the "top of the line" year commitment (unlimited "top" bed + spray tan) for a few reasons: - Better hours (open on Sun and longer on Sat) - Better quality / more updated beds - Facility is well maintained When you walk into Bronze, you can tell the owner/manager really cares about the client's experience. It's expensive to tan and should feel like an indulgence. Bronze does a great job treating their customer well; front desk is always friendly and appear genuinely cheerful when greeting/helping guests. At A Perfect Tan, it kind of felt hit-or-miss. This is the only tanning salon I will ever go to in the Peninsula. The ladies there keep each room and bed clean. And since they moved locations (only a couple stores down) the salon looks even better! I came here for my first spray tan, because I had a last minute photo shoot I needed to get bronzed up for. The young lady that helped me was very patient in explaining to me how the spray process worked and it turned out great. The only down side to this place is that if you don't have an appointment you might not be able to get into the tanning bed for a while. Also, some of the girls working there can be a tad bit rude at times. Which perplexes me, but don't let that scare you away. This is a great tanning salon and worth every penny spent! read more

Seriously you get what you pay for. Best service, clean and the machines are well maintained. I have the monthly unlimited Versa and Matrix, and it is a bit overpriced. It's about 3X more than what I paid back home. That being said, the customer service is great. The girls at Bronze are great! I was given some great advice by one of them on how to get the fastest, long lasting tan before my vacation. Being a mother, I thoroughly enjoy my 10 minutes of quiet time in the tanning bed. I know there are other places to tan around my area but I choose to go to Bronze because it's a step above the rest. When I tan in the high pressure beds they give me a little basket with a cold bottle of water, a dry towel and an ice-cold towel. The service is great, it's UBER clean and I like the ambiance. I enjoy how clean Bronze is as well as how personalized they make your experience. They clean the beds immediately after someone has used, and then when its your turn to use a bed, they bring you a pamper box with a wet washcloth, a hand towel, and a bottle of cold water. The employees are all very knowledgeable and try to help you find the best tanning option to get the color you want that is appropriate for your skin type and sun sensitivity. They also recommend which lotions will be best for you. Also very cool - they offer discount packages for new users. They have a buy 1 / get 1 option as well as a bundle where you buy 3 tanning sessions for some price around $65 (give or take a few dollars), but this second option is really most useful if you're tanning on their strongest bed - the Matrix. read more

I don't tan very often. Maybe once every 5 or more years for a special event. I went here for a special event I had coming up and I was very happy with the experience. The girls at the desk very very helpful and courteous and I was able to get pretty darn tan in to visits. When you are looking for a good place to tan, obviously the quality of machines is important as well as the results they produce, but for me, cleanliness and customer service are equally important if not the most important things to consider when finding the best place to tan. Bronze gets 5 stars from me bc they have exceptional customer service, top of the line tanning beds (which produce amazing results), great customer service ( not just when I go there, but when Ive emailed with questions or called) and the salon is immaculate at all times. I just moved to Belmont from the South Bay and recently found Bronze for spray tanning (I don't use the beds). It's a machine and I was very weary at first because I normally have an actual human do my tans. The front desk attendant assured me it would be a good tan, so I went for it. It was amazing to say the least. It lasted almost a week and didn't get blotchy whatsoever. It was nice color and gave me the exact look I was hoping to achieve. They have a reasonable monthly membership for spray tan only, so I will certainly be going back! read more

I found Bronze Tanning on yelp and decided to try it out since they have great reviews. I LOVE this place!!!!! Someone said in the reviews but you do not have to deal with incompetent snobby teens at the front desk! That's a big plus!! :) They provide you a basket with a bottle of water, cold towel and candy. I am SO sorry to say that ONLY after careful and persistent questioning [regarding prices/beds/timing, etc.,] was I finally able to have my sister-in-law and I 'sample' this establishment. It is more commission-based-- meaning, watch out for them filtering you into a bed with old bulbs after suckering you into a membership or higher priced 'deal'. It is easily told through the story of a blonde front desk woman. She will lie, only to get that $. I guess when I said I would yelp if you lied, well, I would've yelped either way! But you chose this ;) SORRY, I wouldn;t go there again. Was a nice place until they updated their billing. They want another credit card from me, but I said No because they are already billing my credit card.... They have continued to bill me for the past 6 months and won't let me tan. I go in once a month and try and tan, the computer states that I'm on the monthly, but yet they can't see that they are billing me. So they won't let me tan. It's so embarrassing! I get to pay, but can't tan!!!! I finally had to call my credit company and ask them to block them or refund my money. This has only been going on since October of 2017, and now its April of 2018. DON'T GO THERE! YOU MAYBE BEING BILLED FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED. I think my next step maybe submitting to the district attorney. read more

First off, I want to say that the girls at the front desk are very nice and have been able to answer all my questions before I signed up. My problem is with canceling my membership and how long it took to get a reply from the owner. I had already stopped going there due to a relocation. I emailed (like I was instructed to) to cancel and I've had to email twice before getting a reply. I also got charged for a month because I cancelled a day after the automatic withdrawal. We live around the corner and at the beginning of 2015 went there for the first time. Everything was great, from the staff to the perfectly clean beds every time. Lots of beds, lots of options and even spray tanning machine. But unfortunately they haven't had the bed that we had, so we stop going there. So just a few weeks ago, we passed by, hoping that they will have a new, amazing Ergoline bed that we always used at another salon in Palo Alto, in the past, and they did! What an amazing surprise. No need to say we paid straight away for unlimited usage, both me and my husband. This place always had great customer service and beds are always clean. What we love is that you can actually book your appointment and go at the time that works for you perfectly, and never wait. Beds are always ready for you when you book your appointment. And we just discovered that they actually have a great massage chair, so since my husband and I are going at the same time, and use the same bed, back to back, now one of us have a massage while the other one is tanning. Keep up the great work, and we will stay your customers forever! read more

She was so sweet and nice and answered all of my questions and explained all of the memberships and beds to me so clearly. The store is clean and neat and smells clean (that is very important to me). The lotions they sell are a great price and they also have samples. Overall I had a great experience and I cannot wait to get a good base tan going before my honeymoon to Jamaica. read more

This place is clean, they put a "bucket" in your room with a cold towel, a water bottle and a candy - a very spa-like atmosphere, the beds are great, the problem is, it has spa-like prices, they are SUPER expensive. For a level 2 bed it's $35.00 a session and the packages they have are a large investment and don't seem to save you enough money. I did have 1 problem with the place though. The first time I went to Bronze I made an appointment for 10:45, I cam in on time, and was told that they were running late and that it would be almost a half-hour wait. She told me that the wait was because the previous appointment showed up late (which I understand) then she told me that the appointment at 11:00 showed up early - so I had to wait until after she was done as well. I told the women that I had the appointment before her and so I should go first regardless of her being there early. When she ASKED the woman if she MINDED waiting for me to go, the woman told her that she did mind and refused to let me go first; the woman from Bronze told me I would have to wait. So because the appointment after me got there right before me, I was made to wait for her - which is totally bad customer service. If there are appointments, it shouldn't be first come, first served, especially if you show up early hoping to get in early - that means someone else is getting bumped. I first went to Bronze last year when I moved to the area. It was clean, nicely decorated and the owner was very professional and nice. I was not as happy with the beds and sadly did not go back. I wrote a review and the owner actually took the time to apologize and she insisted that I come back. Eventually the sun came out and I was feeling whiter than the wall and under prepared for Summer. I went back and was more than impressed. I definitely recommend Bronze to anyone melanin challenged or just looking to improve color. read more
