Lemon loaf before getting into the vet
Jasly F.

I'm only giving four stars because the wait time was ridiculous. The women in front taking you in are extremely sweet and make you feel comfortable asking them questions. The Dr was very nice and quick but like I said the wait time was rough I waited about two hours to be seen but she did help save my chicken YES I SAID MY CHICKEN lol and thanks to her she's alive today still! Worth spending your money because they're you're pet it shouldn't matter. My chicken had a prolapsed vent and it cost me with medication and stitches $330 which to be honest is not bad because I know I couldn't fix my hen from that horrible accident so I'm my opinion worth spending a couple dollars. Worth coming to this place to see Dr G

Ohhhh myyyy Godddd where do I begin?! Firstly I had a really hard time finding a vet that would even see my Neo (Frilled Dragon) Everyone said the same thing "we take lizards just not that kind". It was extremely discouraging. I was about to drive my baby 1.5hr outside of the city when I found the Bronzeville Animal clinic which is only 15mins away from me. And bout am I happy I did! My little baby had been lethargic, not eating, laying around in the same spot (wouldn't move unless I physically moved her" for a little less than a month. I took her to the doc, she assessed Neo, gave me homework and Neo vitamins and food that we thought I'd have to force feed. Turns out my picky eater really loves the taste and happily gobbled it up. ONE day later, my baby is running around the cage, inquisitive, chasing things, energetic...omgsh I'm so happy I could cry!!!! I was so worried and she turned my baby around fast. Thank you soooo much!!!!

16 teeth out of my 11pound dog!

Brace yourself! I took Stone to the vet at 9:30am to get a dental cleaning and 3-5 teeth removed with an estimated fee of $250-350. Around 2pm I called to check on his status. I was told everything is good he would be ready at 5:45. I get a call from the vet saying she pulled 16 teeth and the bill is $677. WTF?!? WTH?!? Then wanted to keep him hostage, YES hostage, because Stone only had $350 in his backpack. THIS MOFO BOTCHED MY BABY! I AM HEATED! I'm still in shock. Who pulls that many teeth without consulting the pet parent? I would have NEVER approved this. YALL know my vegan A$$ would have boiled some plants and rubbed it on my BooBoos gums and teeth. I can't sleep or stop crying! She MESSED with the wrong one! I don't care when I WIN! #BotchedInBronzeville #HurtMyBaby #MommysBooBoo #MalteseMattery

Our kitten died unexpectedly. We brought our cat here to get an autopsy on about December 7th, 2020. The doctor verbally gave us the results but will it give us them in writing. We need them in writing because our cat had a genetic guarantee with the breeder. It is now January 16 and we still have no autopsy. Everytime I call the doctor is not in. Everytime we call there is some excuse why we don't have the autopsy report. I'm so disappointed and we want to have this issue resolved so we can hold the breeder accountable. I'm started to think that she is hiding something from us. We should not be treated like this when there are so many other vets in the area, we could've chosen. Losing our cat was traumatic in itself, but to be strung along like this by the vet adds insult to injury.

Team Biden-Harris!!!

I also brought my aging poodle-shitzu mix and Dr Gill and staff have been every bit as competent and caring.

He is an extremely shy cat who curls up into himself out of fear. The vet and vet techs are always super gentle with him because of how fearful he is. I had him neutered at this location without issue, and the price was reasonable. I have also taken him in for anal gland expression and it was a quick tech visit, so only $32. They were able to get me in on a weekend. One thing I like in particular is that they have their own parking lot. It is small but most places around that location you have to find street parking. This clinic is also responsive via email, and has helped me order flea meds through Chewy. I will continue to bring my cat here and also consider having his teeth cleaned next year, because their prices are fair and their staff is friendly.

I understand that prices have gone up everywhere over the past few years, but the increases here feel significant. I recently found a 2021 receipt showing the exam fee was $65 and it's now $88. Nail trims are now an additional $19, which used to be included at some point, and my recent visit for an exam and routine vaccines totaled $300. Unfortunately, it's just no longer affordable for us, so we'll be looking elsewhere.

I already consulted our general vet and they mentioned it was due to the medication he was on that was making him this way. I just felt like something wasn't right and wanted to see another doctor just in case. I searched around online for the closest one to see if they would schedule us in on the same day but alot of places were not taking in any new patients. I called right when they opened and I believe I spoke with Dr. Beauchamp and explained what was going on with my boy. I was very grateful that she was able to squeeze me in on the same day. Dr. Beauchamp and their team provided such respect and care to my boy. They took a look at him and told me that he did not look well and was needed to be admitted to the hospital right away. Everything was explained to me very thoroughly and answered all the questions I had. Unfortunately, there was alot of complications going on with him that day and he didn't make it. I am extremely thankful that Dr. Beauchamp followed up with me via phone call to see how he was and did not charge me for our first visit. If we were ever to get another pet, I will be 100% taking them here.

Since then he has had complication after complication. 1st a bad reaction to a prescribed medication causing him to diarrhea blood for days- when we went in to address his diarrhea and dehydration there was an attempt to sell me on a fecal test for Giardia when this was CLEARLY a reaction to the medication. Then the Dr "FORGOT" to give him fluids for dehydration and sold me 3 cans of food to take home to help him. Luckily, I looked into the ingredients of the food further and realized that it contained chicken which he is allergic to. No comment at this appointment on the state of his incision. 2- Luckily because I am a nurse myself I continuously assessed his incision site and noticed that there was a severe hematoma starting to look black. I immediately called the vet to let them know that the tissue was beginning to look necrotic and he was an increased pain. They requested a photo- I sent the photo for an opinion and they NEVER RESPONDED.. 3-We went to the emergency vet they said that the incision looked extremely abnormal and that we should follow up with our vet bc he will likely need a second surgery. 4- We go back to the vet because I followed up 2 DAYS after the picture was sent and Dr asks if I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A QUOTE FOR A LASER to try to bring back life to the dying tissue. Due to my pushback, they did the laser for free. I still walked out paying $85 for more pain medication because it is now required since he's having ongoing pain due to this complication. The doctor then stated that if the tissue does not get better, he will definitely need another surgery which I am sure they are thrilled to charge me for. Not only is this place an extreme money grab, half of the staff is rude and the bedside manner is CRAZY. I brought my dog in because he was clearly in pain and one of the vet techs was grabbing his cheeks, smooshing his face around aggressively saying how cute he is when he's VISIBLY uncomfortable. I'M SO THANKFUL THAT WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR HIS NOSE AND PALATE SURGERY BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF WE HAD SEEN A RANDOM SURGEON AT THIS LOCATION , WE WOULD'VE HAD WAY WORSE COMPLICATIONS OR ACCORDING TO OTHER REVIEWS MAY HAVE LOST OUR DOG. Save your money and go somewhere that isn't private equity and actually cares about their patients not just $$$$$!

They then checked her anal glands which was an extra $130 without informing me prior. Then they recommended a shot for her itchy skin for $150 and cleansing wipes for $30 which I said no to. It was all done with little to no information given without me prying answers to questions out of them. As a new dog owner I'm not sure what to ask and not sure how to navigate caring for a dog and they not only didn't help they felt deceptive. The experience with booking and follow up is very good. Nice that you can book online, they text ample reminders, follow up to ask how the service was, and when I spoke to a manager about my poor experience he handled it very well. It was just the experience at the actual facility that was the problem. The tech that came in before the vet was awkward and quiet and had no answers to anything. The vet was arrogant and deceptive.

2 reasons for 1 star --…read more Last year, my dog has a cancerous lump on his side that needed to be removed. This place had us conduct multiple visits before surgery. All visits and the surgery cost me over $3k. My poor dog had a scar the size of a ruler for a lump that was the size of quarter. Seemed extreme and insanely expensive. Dealing with the front desk staff was a nightmare and I had to fight to get my dog into the surgeon within a reasonable amount of time. If I hadn't fought this they were perfectly fine seeing him for surgery a month later. And this was for a lump that grew into the size of quarter in less than 5 days. The whole experience was baffling. I decided to return to this place for my dog's annual exam and vaccines due to proximity. Just tried taking my dog in for the routine annual exam along with his shots and they were asking for $600 total. Luckily they showed me the costs before jumping in to conduct the work. Last year, we did the same round of shots and the exam here and it was $325. I'm now needing to find a more affordable option. This clinic shows up at #1 on Yelp for "low cost vet in Chicago". Very wrong. Seems like a business looking to make money rather than help people take care of their animals at an affordable rate. They did call me when we were running 5 minutes late just to make sure we were on our way and that they would be able to make a profit off of us today. What an eye roll. We won't be returning. Any suggestions for other low cost options would be welcomed.
