Love coming here with big groups. Sometimes the service isn't the best, but if you want some non so healthy food this is a great place. Their Mac and cheese is wonderful! It is hit or miss sometimes with how cheesy it is but I still love it. I get the chicken tenders which are always crispy! Even when they are to go. They offer them in spicy or non and I like both. Not awful but definitely not great. My husband gushed about the Mac and cheese, but to me it tasted like extra bland velveeta shells and cheese. You can add toppings, but that's just bland Mac and cheese with toppings. So... (Btw I think C may like it bc of the large portion at the cheap price.) The southwest chicken wrap I got was dry. Moved from my hometown of Tulsa a year ago, and every time I come back I have to hit up The Brook. They have really good, reasonably priced food with huge portions. I've frequently dined at both locations, and they're pretty much the same. I will say the service sucks at both locations. Went there to eat like we had done several times before. They messed up my food and offered to remake it. I inquired about the time it would take to remake and told them if my food came out when my family was finished eating that I would not want it because I did not want my family to be waiting on me. They remade it anyway and brought it out when my family was already finished eating. They then brought the check they expected me still pay for my meal. This turned into giant argument with the management and them threatening to call the police as they yeld at us from across the crowded restaurant. today i placed a To go order. When I arrived it was at least 4 minutes before I was greeted. I was offered a water while I waited so I said yes. Finally the bartender came to me, I said hello and the only thing she said was "what is your name". When I told her she handed me my ticket and food and then turned around. When I gave her my money and she gave me my change, she demanded to know "how I got my drink"... I have never been treated this way in a place of buisness where I am the paying customer. I love this place! When we first moved to Brookside we came here once a week. The cheese fries are to die for, the Mac and cheese is amazing, and their side of steamed vegetables is also great. I really enjoyed getting their spinach (or veggie?) quesadilla and added black beans. I didn't like their Cesar salad when I tried it. I will say that there are a lot of options and they have delicious drinks. If you are looking for a healthier option, their turkey burger (order minus the bun) plus cheddar cheese and a side of vegetables is amazing. Wife and I ate there Dec. 26. My wife has Celiac disease. We told the waitress and even got a gluten free menu. She ordered a burger with no bun. I ordered the chicken fried steak. I never received my salad. When they brought our food my wife's burger was on a bun. Sent it back and they returned within a couple of minutes. I asked if the cook just took it off the bun and she said yes. Sent it back so a new one could be cooked. They have no concept of gluten allergies. The best way to describe the brook is consistent. They know exactly at what they excel. They always provide Incredibly unhealthy, delicious, and filling food. This is the place to go if you want to fill your gut and satisfy your devilish cravings. My go to healthy option is the fajitas, however it only becomes healthy if you sub out the tortillas for lettuce wraps. When I am itching for something greasy and delicious, I always go for the cheesy, hardy chicken philly wrap. A Tulsa classic. This used to be an old movie theater back in the 30's, I think. They've got a nice spread of price ranges and food items on the menu, and the prices are great. Most notable are their portions, which are freaking HUGE. The cheese fries appetizer only could feed an army of Spartans, who would then die of a heart attack. But a DELICIOUS heart attack. The only gripe I would have is the noise level on a weekend night, but then, I expect that from a burger joint with a bar and a few flat screens. Randomly stopped by this spot while running some errands on Brookside and was pleasantly surprised with both the food and service. The menu had a lot of variety, which is very welcomed for this new vegetarian. My friend loves the mac and cheese and suggested we get an order. I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese sauce, but can understand why someone would enjoy it. The service is what really stuck out to me. We were welcomed multiple times, greeted quickly at our table, refills without asking, and quick serving of food even during a busy time. The Brook is standard fare but my family tells me the burgers are fantastic (I don't eat red meat) and they have good and hearty salads. It's a fun atmosphere and location in the heart of Brookside. Can honestly say I've never had a bad experience at the Brook. Their food is good (always go for Mac and cheese), their service has always been great for us, and their prices are affordable. Really good location and really good hamburgers, that's about all the things this place has going for it. We're still not quite sure who our waitress was, we got asked if we were ready to order by three different people. Our drinks had hardly any alcohol in them if any at all, my husband got the mule which he said tasted like flat ginger ale and I got the Tito's Zingo (think of the pink drink you'd get out of the soda machine at a fast flood place). First time at the Brook. Parking was no problem. I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with mac & cheese. The mac and cheese was very tasty. The sandwich was fairly tasty. I got the remainder of my meal to go, and I did notice the liquid part of the sandwich (sauce/tomato?) ended up soaking into the Texas toast, making it quite soggy. The mac & cheese is good, though slightly Velveetaish (it's the identical twin of Shells & Cheese from the box), the bloody mary's are good, and the service was great. We shared an appetizer of loaded cheese fries. Sadly, they were extremely greasy and limp. I ate a few, and our friends finished them off, but I couldn't get past the drippy grease. They were soaked. My friends and I went on a Saturday for lunch and it was busy, which was fine. The wait service was rude though. On two seperate occasions they brought other tables orders to us like they didn't know where to take the food. I can only hope our food wasn't tossed around to other tables until they found the right one. Also, my friends food was wrong and the waitress questioned if he wanted it to be corrected and made him feel guilty for getting what he ordered. Also, I have been there on seperate occasions and it seems like the draft beer is ALWAYS flat/old, so avoid that by ordering bottles. I always enjoy eating at the brook. We always take folks from out of town there because it's such a crowd pleaser. Even after moving out of state, I look forward to visiting when I'm back in Tulsa. We visited again tonight, and it was as good as I remember. The restaurant itself is pretty no frills. It's not high end by any means, but you can tell the food is prepared there and they have reasonable prices. We always order the chips &a queso appetizer. Salsa is good and has spice to it. Queso is also really good. They will give you a complimentary refill on the chips & queso, which make it great for a large group and a good value. The cheese fries are enough for a family and always taste amazing. Tonight, I had the blackened chicken wrap for my entree with mac & cheese for the side. The chicken wrap was amazing. Good flavor from the ranch dressing and the chicken was very flavorful with good blackened seasoning. The macaroni and cheese side was honestly large enough to be a meal and very good. Sauce was a good consistency with large shell pasta. My other favorite item at the brook is the fajita chicken nachos. A full order is enough for a family appetizer or for two people to split as a meal. Perfectly cooked, flavorful fajita chicken with generous cheese on each nacho and all the fixings. Pay a little extra to get with guacamole, which I also think they make fresh. Other items I've enjoyed on prior visits include: blackened chicken Caesar wrap, blackened chicken sandwich on Texas toast, and the quesadillas.
