I've been here twice and both experiences have been pretty solid. The first time I actually got a chicken fried steak to go and was BLOWN AWAY by the quality and taste. That singular chicken fried steak is the BEST one I've had in town without question. The mashed potatoes were awful though. Absolutely terrible. Gravy is run-of-the-mill and wish it had been a little better, but isn't awful, just average. The 2nd time I visited I took my girlfriend who got the mac 'n cheese as a side (the mac n cheese alone as a side is enough for most people for a meal), a burger, and some queso. She was a huge fan of the queso and the mac n cheese. The burger there wasn't anything special about. I ordered the chicken fry again and it was much less impressive this time I don't know if it has anything to do with me letting the chicken fried steak cool and then putting the gravy on it when I got it to go vs. them serving it to me hot with gravy over all or just a different cook in the kitchen, but it dropped from an A+ experience to a B+ experience in terms of the taste of the chicken fry. Worst place on Brookside!!!! I have had 3 meals at The Brook each time worst experience than before. My main issue is simply the food is awful Father's Day I was going with my family to eat brunch at one of brookside's better restaurants unfortunately the line was long and everyone was to hungry to wait so we walked down to The Brook. This was a mistake that will not happen again!!! The Brook gives huge portions of sub par food. I ordered a Caribbean chicken salad and it was awful!!! The greens were wet and less than fresh the pineapples were canned and old, and the worst part it had ludicrous amount of old nasty, bad, mushy tomatoes. I will spare you of my rant about the disgusting chicken strips however I feel like I might check into a tetanus shot. How this place stays open is beyond me. I always enjoy eating at the brook. We always take folks from out of town there because it's such a crowd pleaser. Even after moving out of state, I look forward to visiting when I'm back in Tulsa. We visited again tonight, and it was as good as I remember. The restaurant itself is pretty no frills. It's not high end by any means, but you can tell the food is prepared there and they have reasonable prices. We always order the chips &a queso appetizer. Salsa is good and has spice to it. Queso is also really good. They will give you a complimentary refill on the chips & queso, which make it great for a large group and a good value. The cheese fries are enough for a family and always taste amazing. Tonight, I had the blackened chicken wrap for my entree with mac & cheese for the side. The chicken wrap was amazing. Good flavor from the ranch dressing and the chicken was very flavorful with good blackened seasoning. The macaroni and cheese side was honestly large enough to be a meal and very good. Sauce was a good consistency with large shell pasta. My other favorite item at the brook is the fajita chicken nachos. A full order is enough for a family appetizer or for two people to split as a meal. Perfectly cooked, flavorful fajita chicken with generous cheese on each nacho and all the fixings. Pay a little extra to get with guacamole, which I also think they make fresh. Other items I've enjoyed on prior visits include: blackened chicken Caesar wrap, blackened chicken sandwich on Texas toast, and the quesadillas. So me and my friend have gone to the Brook twice now and each time we have had a horrible experience with the waiters being really absurd and rude towards us for no reason and we've been very kind back to them and we've tried to kill them with kindness, it's not working. However, our first experience wasn't completely horrible to the point like the waiter was kind but never checked on us and had us wait twenty minutes for our ticket. However, my second experience the waitress was completely rude. Kiley. Took my twenty cents. I know it's not a lot but I was debating on tipping her even after she was a complete bitch to us and cut us off several times. However. Went to The Brook while visiting my daughter in Tulsa. This is an old standby for her and I can see why. We ordered a half order of the cheese fries with the yummy bacon and jalapenos. The half order was HUGE! We split the fried chicken sandwich and I could barely eat any after eating the yummy fries. We had a couple of beers along with it and it was SUPER cheap. The cheese fries never disappoint at The Brook on Peoria. I prefer mine topped with bacon & jalepeno peppers & lots of Ranch dressing for dipping. It's a meal in itself. But, I like to follow it up with a salad so I don't get to feeling too guilty about the calories. Came to visit on Mother's Day. What a disaster. While there were many little issues (like the salad coming at the same time as the meal) the thing that was most frustrating was that the waitress did not come to check on us during the meal....ever. Came by once and grabbed a plate and took off so fast that We were unable to address the fact that we had been waiting for our drinks to be refilled the entire time. They never did get refilled While we have visited this place many times previously and have usually received good service along with a meal that's delivered in a way that it can be enjoyed hot. I have been here quite a few times, but recently it seems like the food quality is going downhill quickly! The french fries are coated in grease and soggy which is a huge disappointment. When I go to a restaurant for fries, I like a nice crispy outside and a soft inside. I don't want to pick up a fry and have my hands covered in nasty grease. I only ended up eating a couple because they were so soggy and disgusting. I also ordered the chicken sandwich; the bottom bun was soggy and flat. I couldn't even pick up the sandwich because the bottom bun was falling apart from being so soggy, and this was without any sauce on the sandwich. So really no excuse for the soggy mess. I ended up having to eat my sandwich with a knife and fork. After two times in a row now of disappointing sandwiches and disgusting french fries, I will not be returning anymore. read more

When they came out, they were dry and the sauce was on the side. When we asked why, our server acted as if we were crazy and said "that's just how they do it." I have been going to the Brook ever since it opened. Brookside has done wonders and this place was one of the original places to keep it going. Whether you are a sports fan or just want a good meal, this is the place to go. There is a full service bar with good drinks. The staff is very friendly. You will notice that you might have 3 or 4 different waiters but that is only because everyone checks on everyone. I like the system. I am confused by someone who put that the staff is always par. I go there about twice a month and have been going for years. I have never had a bad visit. The portions are huge! Its a good menu with selections for those of us who enjoy a huge meal to those who would prefer something healthy to a salad or healthy wrap. BBD is one of the places I miss most after moving away from Tulsa. It's a great breakfast place. Love love love their basic murrito (burrito!) with home fries. Cinnamon rolls the size of your head! Bartenders are always very attentive and eager to make sure you are taken care of. You can catch just about any prevalent sports event on one of their many tv's. I am a big fan of the brook and me and a friend of mine has made it our regular place to dine. However, recently I have become increasingly disappointed by the food. I order the same thing most of the time and it is not consistently good every time I order it. Service is always good, atmosphere is good, just need a little more consistency with the food. I always loved the Brook's food. As far as the food goes, it is pretty good, worth the value. Today, I picked up food for carryout...like I usually do. First of all, I would like to state that there is a 15 cent carryout charge per entree (well, I guess me not taking up space in there establishment is costing me 15 cents per entree whenever the place is full). Next up, I get home and only 1 plastic ware set (ok, I don't like using it anyway, but I thought maybe the 15 cents would be for it...nickel and dime much?). Lastly, my order came to $22.83. I paid $30 cash, and my change was $3.05, so even if I did not want to leave a tip, it was forced upon me by the blonde bartender with short hair.
