    Brookdale San Ramon

I don't write many reviews but this should be important to know for all of those who rely on good reviews. I was searching for Assisted living for my mom. And not sure how but I received a phone call from MJ sales and marketing manager at this community. She asked what day and time I would I tour beautiful San Ramon community. My first reaction was NO WAY!!! I am not going to move my mom to this community but MJ was very persisting yet compassionate for seniors. She insisted that I should meet her new team, loving caregivers and Happy Resident. She sounded very genuine so I decide to tour. We can feel the positive energy the minute we walk inside. This was nothing like we read reviews in the past. am glad my mother moved into this beautiful community which is surrounded by nature.  I can't tell you how happy she is.  The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and have gone above and beyond with socialization for my mom.  I know that she is having great time at this Brookdale San Ramon Community.  There have been many social functions happy hours, bingo, movie nights with fun activities and interesting learning opportunities for her. Thank you MJ for changing our mind, you are the gem of this community. I have interacted with a number of other facilities for my mom, and hands down, this is by far the best. I hope you get all the attention you deserve. -RR

Throughout his time at this amazing board and care house, he thrived and had top-notch care. Lawrence, the owner, is very hands-on and is often there to ensure all residents are comfortable and have their needs met. The caregivers are simply amazing, dedicated human beings who go above and beyond their jobs. Bonnie, Lydia, Rebecca, Jose, and others truly cared about my dad as a human being. When my dad was in his last days and hospice was called in, they literally got up every hour in the middle of the night, to check on my dad and make sure he was okay. This goes well-above what we expected. This truly is a home, and the six rooms for residents truly feel like any house would feel. One thing my dad especially loved, the food! His favorite subject while living at Springtime Residence was the food he had at each meal. The caregivers became his friends and part of our extended family. They were loving, gentle, and saw to all of his needs. If you are looking for THE BEST in a home-like environment, then Springtime Residence is your destination for top-notch care. We feel very lucky my dad spent his final months there.

They always say hi to my mom when we are walking around the community and continually pop in her apartment (after respectfully knocking to gain permission to enter) just to make sure she is ok and having a good day. If she forgets about an activity, they will come up to remind her just to make sure she doesn't miss out. They love her just like they are family, and I am so grateful for the wonderful care they provide. The activities director is amazing! She plans several different programs designed to engage and delight the residents. She often can be seen in the community checking in with the residents to make sure they are well cared for and are enjoying the programs/events that are scheduled. The wait staff in the dining room all know my mom and what she likes and often offer little treats when she seems to be having a down day. There is a hairdresser on site (no more trips to the beauty parlor and waiting for the bus!) that does a beautiful job in an amazingly short amount of time. The medical director really cares for all the residents- she knows all of the residents and often makes caring suggestions that help improve their quality of life. The Resident Director is the best! She also knows all the residents and seems to never go home. She takes care of any issues promptly, and often before we even know there was a problem. My mom is in a wheelchair, but can always count on one of the caring drivers to take her to doctor's appointments or wherever else she needs to go. We looked at several places before we chose Brookdale Lodge. It was hard for my mom to move out of her house into assisted living, but she has told me several times how happy she is with her choice. I am very grateful that everything they told us when we were choosing a place for my mom is true! Brookdale Diablo Lodge is really the best!

Pest control finally came out and set traps and told them what they needed to do but they did none of it before I moved out. It was supposed to be a senior complex but it turned into some of everything. Tenants items started to come up missing. Now I don't who or whom did it but things were missing. I know people love pets but my goodness, then didn't do well at cleaning up behind their OWN pets. Pet hair left in the washers and dryers. They would wash their pet items in the washers and dryers. Heck, I got fleas or maybe bedbugs bites, I don't know which is which because I have never dealt with either one of them before. I do know that I through my comforter away. Some tenants expected maintenance to clean up THEIR dog urine and feces when they are looking at their dog doing this. The rodents got in my bed. I went through 4 air mattresses. I didn't buy an actual bed in fear of it being a total loss. I was over charged in rent. I was supposed to pay $1499 and I'm just going to be truthful, my rent was padded. The manager at the time charged $1929.00 in rent when id.gov told her to charge less. It was a lot more going on there by other managers but I'll tell that in court. I lived in a studio apartment and I was charged more than a one bedroom. I tried to write corporate but the packet came back. I have of that I speak of. Have you notice, the owner does put their name on the reviews? I have tried and tried to communicate with them but I can not reach them. Maybe the court system can or maybe they will respond through here. I want my overpayment back the cost for my 4 air mattresses.

From the moment she answered the phone, she was compassionate, patient, and reassuring. During our very first call she gave me the information and guidance I needed to move forward. Within an hour of speaking with her, several senior living communities were already reaching out to me. Before connecting with Christine, I had called many facilities myself and only received one call back. All we had to do was schedule the appointments. It was clear that Christine has built strong and meaningful relationships with the communities she works with. We ultimately placed our uncle in one of the independent living communities she introduced us to, and the process felt so much more manageable because of her help. She also helps families explore assisted living and skilled nursing options, which makes her an incredible resource no matter what level of care is needed. If you are trying to navigate independent living, assisted living, or skilled nursing options for a loved one, I highly recommend reaching out to Christine at Creating New Hope Senior Living Advisors. Having someone knowledgeable and compassionate guide you through such an uncertain time truly makes a difference. We are very grateful for her support.

For anyone that has had a loved one with Alzheimer's disease, you can understand the challenges and…read morestresses that one can go through. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2013. At first we thought that she was just becoming forgetful but then she started doing odd things. She would collect sugars and jellies when we went out to eat and insist on taking them home. When we got home, she had no idea why they were in her purse and pile them up on her counters. Showers were impossible and I had no idea when she last showered. A long time ago, I promised my dad that I would keep mom home if anything ever happened to him. It had been 15 years since my dad passed away but I was determined to keep my promise. I hired in home care to be with mom and help me with things I couldn't do. I had a caregiver come in for 12 hours a day to cook, shower, etc. It was great for a while (though there have been some times where a caregiver wouldn't show up and I suddenly had to leave work because there was no one home with mom) and mom seemed to like her caregiver. Then one day, mom got out while the caregiver was in the bathroom and got lost in the neighborhood. I have never been so scared in my life! The police were called and we had everyone looking for her. My mom was eventually found 2.5 hours later. It was this incident that I realized that mom could not live at home any more, even with in home care. Brookdale Danville has been a lifesaver! The staff is really good at what they do and understand the behaviors that someone with Alzheimer's might have. They have fun activities throughout the day and my mom is able to socialize again. I see the projects they created up on the walls and even see pictures of the folks dancing! The place doesn't smell of urine and they quickly attend to someone if they have an accident (it was once my mom). The community is constructed as a circle. You will sometimes see a couple of ladies going round and round. From what I understand in my Alzheimer's support group, someone with Alzheimer's may have wandering behaviors (which was the case for my mom). The circular construction of the building allowed my mom to roam in a safe environment. Alzheimer's disease is an ugly disease with behaviors I will never understand. I am glad that I found Brookdale Danville, a place that understands the disease process and are able to handle the behaviors that I never could. Thank you for being there for me and my family.
