I called and spoke with Matt Brown and sounded like he just woke up as future calls revealed, so…read moredon't call before 10:00am. First red flag. I shopped around for other quotes and decided to call and set up an estimate, as pricing was pretty much the same. Matt however did not want to bother with an on site estimate...second red flag. I thought, " it's only a bath tub" so let's give a local business the job. His ability to commit to an earlier real start time was a real suprise. Not very accommodating. He arrived late anyway. I guess planning to pick up a helper does not get considered into the start time? I had to call him to confirm the time and date two days before. He should have done that. Walking in was his helper first who introduced himself . Mat came in and asked me what did he quote me for the job. I told him an he said that sounds about right. Really? Maybe I should have cut something off the top. Mmmmm? A few buckets carried in and Matt was gone till 3:00 pm.(arrival was at 9:32) His helper was left to do everything, set up etc. and prep. which took over an hour based on lack of direction and organization and a bit to much talking. All you other possibilities out there forget it. So much time was wasted and should have been done in less than the 11 hours they took here. Not because they were professional and did an outstanding job, but because of no sense of professionalism as well as a system in place and maybe the ability to get the led out? Matt was out doing what ever while his helper was on the phone frequently with who? my guess Matt, because he was not sure of what to do. Shame on you Matt you should have been here every step of the way. Towards the eleventh hour Matt asked if he should finish the next day. My answer was, maybe ask your helper how he feels, he's the one who has been working his but off for the entire day. I wanted them done and out!!! It is amazing what two people get done in less time when the customer gets pissed off! A shame though...the clean up was pitiful. Walked in and there were razor blades all over the floor. They knew my yorkie was around. Saw my yorkie was around. Think the razor blades may not have been a good idea? How about maybe placing after use right into a can? Safety first? Tape was left on the walls. scrap paper left on floors. What the helper swept he did not have a dust pan, so I told him to just sweep it into the corner and I pointed where, but I guess his version of a corner is different from my idea of a corner was. I will never recommend this business to anyone. My husband and I have had some wonderful contractors pryor to this for a variety of things needed to be done in our home. Great Lakes is like hitting a cement wall. When Matt was leaving I asked him about what time he would be back the next day to clean up and caulk, I was told between 9 and 10 am. Ten o'clock rolled around still no Matt no phone called. I called him and guess what? I had woke him up! Can you imagine that? So much for clean up and caulking. I told him don't bother we will do it ourselves. He had the audacity to leave a message to not caulk for another day as the tub was no where near to be walked on. Gee Matt how were you going to do it? Caulking our basic tub just requires standing and bending over, never having to lean or stand in it.....The hard part, we will see how the work holds up! last words to Matt, if you wonder why business has come to a halt, here's some words of wisdom. 1. Get off your butt and at least give your perspective new customers a courtesy of a on site estimate, and to meet them and act like you care. 2. Be on time 3. Hire the right people for the job if you are not doing it. 4. Be considerate of your customers time. 5. Be present on all your jobs. 6. Step up the idea of respecting your customers space. 7. Get some class time in on running a successful business. A lot of info out there if you have the DESIRE to do it better! Cleanup should not be a next day courtesy but a business who just wants to be sure the job was done right!!!!! And shame on me for ever thinking this was ever going to work!!!

Matt Brown and nephew were a pleasure to work with. The finished product is terrific and solid…read more They went the extra mile. Very good communication and punctual, also reasonably priced and Matt worked long hours to get it done.
