Stopped here for our first breakfast while in PGH. Located in Lawrenceville, this is on a Main Street in a retail building with several stores. We walked in and perused the menu. I ordered a Pittsburgher breakfast sandwich on egg bagel. It was very good - but the breakfast sausage on the sandwich - although thicc, was somewhat slimy. I hate that. I should have went with bacon. Coffee drink was solid, and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Was super disappointed by my visit to Brooklyn Bagel recently. My brother was in town and was in the mood for bagels so I decided to check out a place that's been on my list for a while. Ordering was easy on a Saturday morning and the bagels were great! I think they used expired milk in my vanilla latte because I was mid drinking it when I started to swallow chunk of milk with my latte. I've shown pictures below but it was disgusting. I was shocked to visit during such a busy time and this was the latte I was given. I would avoid their coffee at all costs and it felt so bad in my stomach for the rest of the day. I'd like to give them benefit of the doubt but stay safe anyways and don't order coffee from here.

Amazing staff! Great place. Really cute interior and whole vibe. Bagels were delicious. Had a nice chewey interior with a nice crust. I got the 'burgh sandwich no egg and everything melded so well. 10/10 would recommend. My favorite thing there was also the hammajack hot sauce. Even if you don't like spice, it has a great peppery taste that works perfectly with the bagel!

One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever the chorizo and hash brown was the best thing ever together. It is a really nice place cool vibes and the employees are really cool. Next time I stop in I'm definitely going to try out the coffee!

Brooklyn deli was a quick walk from where I was staying and they opened at 9 am which was earlier than most places for breakfast in the area of Lawrenceville. This place has a lot of charm and loved the vibe. I ordered their Pittsburgh bowl with delicious scrambled cheddar cheese eggs, at least three eggs maybe four and a hash brown cooked to perfection plus delicious sausage for around $10 which was a nice change of pace from other places near me. They have a good selection of coffee and tea too. I loved the ambience of this place. Staff helpful. Easy to find and convenient.

We walked over to Brooklyn Bagel at Arsenal from our Airbnb and found the place absolutely buzzing with energy! There was a line practically out the door, which we took as a good sign, and despite the wait, the staff moved quickly and kept everything running smoothly. By the time our bagels were ready, we lucked out and snagged a spot inside to eat--which was definitely a good call since these bagels were loaded! I ordered the Torta Bagel Sandwich with egg, chorizo sausage, cheddar cheese, cilantro sauce, jalapeño, and lime, and it did not disappoint. The bagel was packed with bold flavors, and the hearty fillings made it super satisfying. The cilantro sauce and lime added a fresh, zesty twist that tied everything together. If you're in the area and craving a flavorful, hearty breakfast, Brooklyn Bagel is a must-visit. Just be ready to get there early and don't eat it in your car--these bagels are no joke!

Was super excited to order a breakfast bagel from Brooklyn Bagel this morning because last time I ate there the food was exceptional. When I got my food today my bagel was burned and everything inside my bagel tasted overcooked too. I was already home at this point and wasn't able to go back and ask for another bagel. I'll continue to support this business because the prices are fair and I've had good bagels here before but today was a miss for sure.

Cute coffee shop with yummy bagels! Avocado bagel super flavorful, bagel itself not the most fluffy but solid. Really friendly staff, nice place to study!

I got a bacon, egg, cheese and jalapeño cream cheese. I'm so glad I did the cream cheese, even though it definitely made my sandwich messy. The bacon was good and not soggy. I do wish there was more seasoning on the everything bagel but it was good. The service was good. My food came out fast. I got mine to go but there were places to sit and enjoy your bagel.

My food and coffee were delicious! Service was quick and it was very nice inside. Would go back again.

After walking around the neighborhood, this one had seating, so we went inside. First, I'll say the coffee we tried was pretty good - a cappuccino and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. The barista asked "for here or to go" and the drinks still came in a paper cup anyway despite us saying "for here". I really enjoy having a coffee in an actual glass/mug when I say "for here". The ambiance was a bit confusing... not really sure what they were going for in the space, things were a bit choppy and thrown together. Kinda felt like you were in someone's garage with cluttered items on rickety shelves behind the counter. Our barista was very nice, but an awkward moment occurred when they were ringing us up - barista asked for a tip but then told us not to put the tip on the credit card because the owner steals from them. We felt this was a little uncomfortable and gave some unwelcoming energy. We also tried a Nutella croissant, which was very good! I think this shop has a lot of potential with some changes to service and decor.

The first time I ordered an espresso beverage with the light roast option and what I received did not taste anything close to light. Both visits, staff were cold and acted annoyed with the questions I had about their beans/coffee offerings. I would recommend klvn and ghost coffee as superior alternatives. Was really hoping to like this cafe.

While I…read morethink Espresso a Mano has the better espresso drinks,* Constellation has fantastic pour over: You won't find a better selection of high-end coffee beans anywhere else in Pittsburgh, and no other cafe in the city comes close. The bean offerings are always excellent, varied, and carefully curated. Selecting among them may feel intimidating, but the baristas are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you don't have much or any experience with pour over coffee, you should make sure to ask them for suggestions, and they will guide you towards a good selection. If you are coffee snob with a rotating selection of extra-light beans on your kitchen counter... well you should still chat with the baristas and they can tell you all about what they offer, what tasting notes to expect, what they are excited about, and so on. I am in the latter category, and I always enjoy chatting with the baristas here and learning about their coffee. I also appreciate that, in the summer, you can choose to have a Japanese-style iced pour over (the one that's brewed hot directly onto ice). You don't find that often in cafes, and certainly nowhere else in Pittsburgh. Besides coffee, the ambiance is great. There is not much traffic, so it's a pretty calm place to sit down and work or read a book. I love sitting at the large table in the back room for a few hours and working from there, while enjoying a cup or two of different pour overs. Overall, we are lucky to have Constellation . While Pittsburgh can't compare with the "third-wave" coffee scene in cities like Seattle or Vancouver, Constellation can certainly compete with the best cafes in such cities. *The espresso here is also great, don't get me wrong, especially when they offer a light roast. But I just like the one at Espresso a Mano better. I do wish Constellation offered an espresso flight; given the variety of beans they offer, that would be a unique coffee-drinking experience.

The reason is simple: It's the best espresso in Pittsburgh. Both the plain espresso and the milky drinks (at least the macchiato and cortado, I don't generally enjoy cappuccino or latte) are executed perfectly and taste great. I like the espresso so much, the beans I use for my own espresso at home are always from here. I also enjoy the ambiance at this cafe. In the summer, I love to sit at the long bench by the entrance and watch the traffic outside while enjoying the sun. And in the winter, the interior feels very cozy and is a great place to hang out and chat with a friend. They also display art from (I believe) local artists, and you can buy pieces you like. I have not tried any of the baked goods or non-espresso drinks, so I can't comment on those first hand--though my partner did try the hot chocolate and was raving about it. But when it comes to espresso, come here for a good cup; as I said, it's the best espresso in Pittsburgh.
