PREVIOUSLY this was a "one and done" due to lousy bagels and an owner whom I didn't care for - let's go! - I don't know when the business was sold, and the new owner/owners are making solid bagels - Service is very friendly (immediate greeting/they brought my order to a table vs standing at the counter waiting for it) - Had a bacon + egg + cheese this morning as a "treat" and it was delicious (what you'd expect in a NJ bagel shop) Atmosphere is simple - and plenty of tables if you want to eat in. I desired a bagel, egg, turkey bagel sandwich. As a resident of the area, I did not want fast food, did not want a sloppy made sandwich, so I tried a new place, Brooklyn Bagels , in Twin Rivers, NJ. I Ordered a sandwich. So, I am into cleanliness, when and where I order my food. This am, approximately 9:30 am, July 31, 2026, this woman walked in the door, from the street, took dirty dishes, utensils off a table, walked in the kitchen and proceeded to have a conversation with the cook. Ugh...Ugh....no washing hands, I assume she did not touch the food, but is this sanitary ? ANSWER: NO !!! So, I stated what was just done is unsanitary and she walked in,literally from the street. A frequent patron, sitting in the store overheard, my complaints to the gentleman at the register. The frequent patron stated the woman worked there and was not working today. Excuse...excuse....this frequent patron, who was sitting at another table, further stated, he is a chef and he felt what she did was ok. No, no, NO....it is not ok, as a person in health care, this is one of the reasons why we have these different viruses running rampant. Explosive diarrhea, cousins, RSV.....Washing your hands is so important. This patron, who said he is a chef, in an attempt at sarcasm stated, the woman who walked in basically was , "she is not doing surgery". Washing hands and maintaining cleanliness around food preparation areas , is so important. Me, personally, that was my first and last time in Brooklyn Bagels. So, I got my sandwich, left the store and proceeded to Wawa. Everyone, in Wawa, the workers preparing food had gloves on, food prep was clean, no one from the street was seen entering the food prep area. My sandwich will go to my fur babies. So, trying to support the smaller business, was a let down, for me. No more Brooklyn Bagels. Does anyone know of a small establishment, which is clean, and food prep area is clean, that makes a nice, non sloppy bagel egg & bacon sandwich ? This place is a hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the strip mall vibe--it's an authentic New York-style deli with incredible bagels and sandwiches. The owner went out of their way to make PB&Js for our kids (not even on the menu), the meats were sliced fresh to order, and the lemonade was freshly squeezed. Coffee was fresh and made perfectly with sugar melted right in. We had a turkey avocado wrap and a grilled chicken wrap (both came with a soda) and everything was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Brooklyn Bagels in Twin Rivers shopping center in East Windsor NJ has new owners. OMG!! What a difference. First of all, when I walked through the door, I'm greeted so warmly by the new owners. Then, I choose the bagel that I wanted when I was on my way there, because they always have what I want and they're usually warm fresh from the oven. The cream cheese spreads are made on premises, and I'm slowly working my way through them. All of them are delicious so far. Excellent bagels. I've recently moved to the area, but I'm here at least every two weeks for a sausage, egg, and cheese on a garlic or onion bagel. My wife was never a fan of bagels but she loves this place. Service is a bit slow because they make the orders fresh so there's usually a back up waiting for the cook in the back to make a sandwich. The bagels are fresh, fluffy, with a tiny bit of chew. I try to stop by and buy a half dozen regularly. They are closed on Mondays. read more

Yelp is an awesome resource for business owners. They have the opportunity to address the needs of their customers and get a window into things they need to improve upon. When people are not being paid to review your company, they are taking time from their lives to literally give you free help with your business. If a person leaves a review that says you ran out of bagels more than once, the best thing you can do is review your production to see if anything needs tinkering. You can assure that customer that you are looking into the problem and plan to correct it. That little assurance will probably make them try again. If however, you choose instead to message them with a pointed accusation, you will lose that chance. After my review, I got a message that said bagel places close early so I should make sure I go early if I want bagels. As a Polack and Jersey girl, I am well aware of the hours bagel companies keep. Your running out of bagels is not my problem. It is yours. Your using Yelp in order to school your customers on bagel culture instead of addressing your lack of bagels tells me more than anything what I need to know about your business. Thank you for correcting me. I will be sure to frequent any number of bagel places that choose to address production. Owners with an attitude. I go in once in a while for a bagel and a cup of tea. I drink black tea with 2 equal. The owner has decided that stocking equal along with the splenda, sugar, sweet & low is not worth his trouble. You pay $1.25 for a small cup of tea that uses a $.03 teabag and its too much trouble to make the customer happy. All bagel shops carry all the available sweetners, convenience stores carry all popular sweetners. But this guy is too lazy too put out something too make the customer happy. We stopped on our way out of NJ because we missed the stop for Tommy's bagels. I'm from NJ and my boyfriend and I like to have at least one bagel on the way back to MD. Big mistake. The cashier was not friendly. She wasn't even looking at us when taking our order. My everything bagel was made without salt and was super bland. My boyfriend's breakfast sandwich had bacon that seemed as though it was sitting out. He also had the Walnut raisin cream cheese and said it wasn't sweet. Please do not go here. I am a healthcare provider and this place is not clean. The owner/ worker of Asian decent just used the cash register and proceeded to touch the bagel that I ordered with no gloves on and did not wash his hands. I informed him about it and he got upset telling me what is the big deal the toaster is 300 degrees and will kill the germs. I requested a new bagel and he told me no if I don't want it then I can go. I told him I was reporting him to the dept of health and he told me I can do whatever I feel like doing and continued to shoo me out of his store in front of another customer. The worst. We waited 30 mins for three egg sandwiches. Other customers who came in after us and ordered received there food and finished before we received ours. Been here a few times and bagel has been decent! Growing up in NY I'm sort of a bagel snob. they're not the best but I wouldn't say the worst. They do it's job when you have that craving for a bagel. It's always slow and every time I've been there the same guy is behind the counter. Not sure if he works by himself all the time. I was there this morning. This was my third visit. I found the staff to be surly and sour on my first visit. The bagel was OK, but nothing to rave about. Things were much improved for my second visit. I purchased about $58.00 worth of lottery tickets and bagel products. Again, the bagel was OK. Nothing special. On both occasions I also placed a nice bit of cash in their tip container on both visits. Today, I stood at the counter like a idiot and I was totally ignored. There was no one else at the counter.
