I pass by this Deli fairly frequently and always wondered what was offered in this smaller sized building. It's right off of a busy road & you often see trucks pulling in even in the morning so I often wondered what it was like. Well I finally tried it out and I was impressed! I had their reuben sandwich and I really enjoyed the flavor and how the bread was toasted! The deli is clean, nothing super fancy. It reminds me of a Wawa-styled business because of the nice variety of other items they offer like the Twinkie-type snacks, chips, drinks in a large refrigerated section, & even some donuts too! They also had these sriracha hot honey chips or something to that effect...I was so tempted to try those! Will definitely go back and try more things in the future. read more

Came here for lunch recently and enjoyed my meal. Parking was pretty easy since it's right off Old Trenton Rd. I was initially surprised at how many U-Hauls were parked in the lot, but I then saw a drop off box for U-Haul keys! So maybe the restaurant doubles as a U-Haul rental location, not sure. Anyway, the restaurant was clean inside, and I appreciated the big TVs displaying the menu. That being said, I'm pretty sure there were a few items missing - not sure if the TVs normally cycle between the different parts of the menu, but they remained still when I was there. I ended up ordering a Philly cheesesteak, and the cashier was friendly and polite throughout. They definitely cooked my sandwich to order, which meant it took a few minutes but it was fresh :) I'll take that trade! The sandwich was pretty good - nothing outstanding, but it got the job done. East Windsor Deli has been in the same unassuming spot off Old Trenton Road for many years. It's one of those places that can easily be missed or neglected until one day you randomly pop in. They seem to have a regular customer base without any sort of promotion and despite not having a website. There are plenty of parking spaces and an ample no frills interior with tables at which to eat or wait while food is being prepared. There's a coffee station and plenty of delicatessen staples including snack cakes, chips, ice cream, and drinks, in addition to a regular menu board of food. It seems they serve breakfast too, but some of the items were crossed off on the menu boards. We went with a turkey and chicken parmigiana sandwich (both $7.99 plus tax), which took a good 8-10 minutes to prepare. The turkey sandwich (4.5/5) was prepared on rye bread as requested with plenty of freshly sliced turkey breast and all the fixings. The chicken parmigiana sandwich (3/5) was decent...the fresh roll was good, but both chicken and cheese being average, and tomato sauce being sub-par and not very flavorful. I'm glad I asked for sauce on the side, since I probably would have given the sandwich a lower rating if they had it prepared with the sauce generously layered on already. Portion sizes of both sandwiches were generous and definitely enough to fill you up for lunch. Counter service was friendly, and the gentleman at the counter was nice enough to thank me and wish me a nice day (I appreciate those little kind gestures as they go a long way in the name of customer service). While it's not a fancy operation that wow'ed me, East Windsor Deli fit the bill perfectly for a freshly prepared lunch from a small local business. read more

This Deli is phenomenal. I work down the road, and its always been one of the most convenient places for professionals in the area to get lunch. They are fast, easy, and professional, and the owner is very present in his business. He knows all his customers - and remembered me and my exact order after having not visited for over a year due to a relocation. I always make a point of going here when I can. East Windsor Deli on Edinburg Road in the municipality of the same name (not Trenton), looks like a fairly new establishment, with standard deli fare and reasonable prices. The owners run the place, and are friendly and efficient. The house has tables are chairs for eating in, but take out appears to be the name of the game. There is only one sign in front, which can be missed when driving east. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on rye to go. When I reached my office, I opened the wrapper to find a larger than expected lunch. There was plenty to eat, although with lettuce and tomato (not requested), the bread had become somewhat damp, and did not hold together until the end of the meal. It would have been helpful to have a fork or spoon to clean up the fallout, but fingers would have to do. Otherwise, the taste was fine, but I wasn't certain they made the salad in house, or bought it from their purveyor. It wasn't exciting, nor memorable, but was certainly decent enough to warrant a return visit when in the hood. read more

A quality quick breakfast spot! We stopped by for a couple breakfast sandwiches to go before a hike. I got a garlic bagel (they were out of everything bagels) with sausage, egg, and ketchup. Boyfriend got a croissant with sausage egg and cheese. We were both happy with the value for what we paid - $8 for two huge sandwiches! They were a little messy so we ended up not being able to eat them in the car but they were so hot and fresh I'm glad we got to enjoy them sooner rather than later. A toothpick to hold the sandwiches together might have helped but that doesnt change the fact that it was delicious. It goes downhill as I got here today at 4:14pm and the sign on the outside says open and the hours say they are open until 430 and I'm greeted by a guy behind the counter at the deli. He smiles and said unfortunately we are closed now. I really cannot stand this type of practice in a business. If you are open, then be open. It has been almost 2 years since I was a regular here - I moved. I loved the sandwiches here and supporting a local family deli. But, clearly it is under new ownership. I did not see the owners from before that I have seen for almost 15 years. My BLT I called in was not ready when I arrived. He started it when I came and was back chatting. The bacon was not normal bacon. Very tough, hard meat only- no fat wide, thin stripped meat. I hesitate to say it was actually bacon. There were two very thin slices of tomato that I could not even taste with a handful of shredded iceberg lettuce. I was really disappointed. No longer a nice robust, bacon still hot deli. I always call ahead and place an order for pick up. I've never had any problems ordering. I always get the whole chicken tenders hot hoagie with buffalo sauce and lettuce, tomatos, and mayo. Its honestly the best sandwich, and pretty big for a reasonable price. Its absolutely delicious, and once I place the order its ready in exactly 10 minutes, which is usually the time it takes me to get there. E-deli is always a great option for lunch with friends! I've tried the Chicken parm and the Steak&Cheese, both of which were great! There are a few picnic benches outside so in the summer it's great to enjoy a nice lunch outside. Inside there are plenty of tables so seating has never been an issue.
