Love their food and I come here often! My favorites are the eggplant parm and garlic knots. They do have 2 tables for sitting outside and a large enough back area inside too. The variety of pizza is great and you can just come in and order a slice. read more

My dad is born and raised in New York, so when he likes a pizza place, I know it's legit. This man is so picky with his NY style pizza. So when he told me about this place I had to try it for myself. I decided to take my BF here one day and he was instantly hooked. We frequent this place at least twice a month. It's cool to go here on a Sunday if you are a football fan. That have good combo deals, you can get two slices and a drink for under 7 bucks; AND if you like you can upgrade to two slices and a BEER for approx 9. The beer combo especially won a place in my heart. The kitchen is cool because you can actually see what they are doing and watch them make their prize pizza. I also love the people that work there, they always remember us when we come in. It's an...'everyday people' kind of place. I highly recommend this pizza joint. read more

I liked the pizza. Bought two larges for the family, kinda expensive. The sandwiches I didn't care for, got the chicken parm and meatball once. Place is small. Credit card machine is NOT good...expect to spend 20 min paying, OK, maybe not 20 min. Kid working was friendly, older fat guy doesn't smile much but cooks those pizzas very nicely. My experience with the owner and one of his team members was horrible...I ordered a specialty pie called the Flatbush, with white mozzarella, tomato, and basil for $19 when my associate got back to work and we opened the box there was a plain cheese pizza in the box $16. When I called back and spoke to the team member he said we could go back and switch it for the right one, however because we were at work I explained that wasn't possible if he could just credit my cc the difference and we would be all set. Instead the person said don't worry just come in and he took my associates name down and said that he would have the Flatbush ready for us next time. This was Friday, today Monday they said they could honor 50% off because they didn't remember saying that. Anyways, they were super rude, ended up making the right pizza but treating us like we were trying to get free food. They treated my associate as though we were lying and when she got back she was upset. So I decided to call back and I asked to speak with the owner. I explained everything to him and he was still rude and said people always want something for nothing. Now, I'm from the East Coast and people in NY and Boston don't treat people with such disregard. He definitely lost a customer for life over $3 had they just credited me the difference. I'm a CA newbie from NY and have tried my best but just couldn't find good Chinese or Pizza. I gave up on the Chinese but as a pizza connoisseur, I would never give up. For the past year, it's been endless promises and hope for a better slice than the previous one. I even started to question myself, are my standards too high. At one point, I tried one of those design your own pizza joints. I thought to myself, how low can I go. I was depressed and had to watch Goodfellas to motivate myself to continue my quest for a great slice. I vowed to not settle for less than I deserved. Then tonight finally it happened. Looked on Yelp for a pizza place after leaving Legoland. This one had great reviews. I have no idea why. Pizza was average at best and mostly sold by the slice in a glass case. Nothing special. The place was filthy with old food from previous guests on just about every table. That and the attitude of the employees working when we were there is what will prevent us from ever going back. I'm a born and bred New Yorker and this is by far some of the best pizza I've had here in San Diego County. The smell of the pizza as I walk into the place is a reminder of my childhood and the corner pizzeria I used to walk by every day after school. This place is even better than some of the places back home. As a New Yorker, the fact that the pizzeria owners engage in conversations with you and actually smile is a great thing. This is a NY style pizzeria, not an upscale restaurant with waiters. Thank you god, i finally found edible pizza in san diego area. not great pizza but good pie and at this point that is a rarity in sd. good service from a couple nice guys sincerely interested in getting the pie right for you, good flavor. here is all that was wrong, pie needs to be just a hair thinner, and the oven needs to be cranked up by 100 degrees. the pie was cooked through tough as opposed to nice and crisp on the outside and a little chewy inside. lots and lots of pizzeria owners (especially in tough times) have a bad habit of turning the dial down on the oven to save money ( keeping a huge oven at 600+ all day adds up fast) and it shows in the final product. BIG TIME. so, to brooklyn boys, thank you for providing me a pie that I can eat and I will come back for. but please crank that oven back up to full blast. I can tell the difference and I bet others can too. read more

Best Pizza in the San Diego area, hands down. I have been here about 15 times, and I really want to a calzone or sandwich, etc. But, the pizza is so good I can't bring myself to order anything else. I love the ranch dressing too, it's the really garlic one that goes great as a pizza dipping sauce. Ice cold beer on tap too! The eating area is pretty small, but it's doable for a family. I like to order the pizza there, and have a beer or 2 while I sit and wait for it to be done. The owners are the nicest guys ever! They remember their regulars and greet people on a first name basis. Went here for the first time for lunch. I got 2 slices, spinach and ricotta, and cheese. I had the order to go. First, the guy (maybe owner?) who helped me was not very helpful or friendly. There was really no one else in the store but I felt like I was inconveniencing him. He didn't look at me the whole time and seemed annoyed. Now back to the pizza, I was super excited to try this and was willing to overlook the bad customer service if the pizza was good. This pizza was not great, it wasn't even good. I took one bite of each and threw them both away. The cheese pizza was just bland, I didn't taste much of anything, and the ricotta pizza tasted bad, like it had been cooked 4 hours ago kind of bad. I won't go back to this place. Maybe I just came on an off day since so many people have such good things to say about it, but I won't waste my time. Such a waste of $$. read more

Had lunch here today for the first time. Ordered two pies: cheese for the kids and Red Hook for the adults with chopped eggplant, artichoke, tomatoes, pesto, and cheese which was excellent! Tried the "special" Alfredo Pasta with blackened chicken too which was also nice. The guys behind the counter are definitely New Yorkers...for example, a customer came in and asked for a recommendation and the answer was, "Whateva u want." Totally classic!! Does not get any better than this in SD. I am from NY and particular about my pizza. I consistently hunt around SD looking for the best pizza, and Brooklyn boys comes out on top. Better than knockout, bronx pizza, east coast, bongiornos, hoboken, pizza port, etc....Closest thing to NY pizza in SD. Also, their lasagna, eggplant parm, and chicken rolls are great as well. They take pride in their pizza, use the best ingredients, and wont make a pie if it does not come out tasting grade A. Go get your eat on. read more
