Side note: Probably the shortest review I'm ever going to make in any recent memory. This is one of my favorite parks in my city. It is something I miss ever since I moved, and it was nice to walk around. Wonderful views (especially during sunset and sunrise, of course), with my personal favorite part for photos being Pier 4. Check it out if you're in the area. I guess the only complaint that I can make is that it could use more bathrooms, but it's a nice park otherwise, and that's a common problem among most larger parks, regardless.
Even though I don't like the part with the barbed wire and the prioritization of a private business, the park has to get an automatic five stars for providing actual access to water. There are abundant waterfronts in the area with scenic views but also a look-don't-touch framework so it was great to the small section that allows water contact (as for whether that's a good idea, I'm not a medical expert, but hey, neither are the medical experts these days). Regrettably, when I lived in northern Michigan, a few blocks from the beach, I was more focused on things like trying to move past minimum wage employment and didn't fully appreciate the water. But now I'm more aware of water, including access to it or lack thereof. (I'd love to write an 800-page Robert Caro-esque tome called "WTF New Haven but I don't have the vocab for anything longer than a tweet). Brooklyn Bridge Park has an impressive range of environments. There are sections that can pass for wilderness if you don't turn your head too far, grassy areas and more citified parts. As a geography enthusiast I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to realized that you can get here via Joralemon St.
Brooklyn Bridge Park is absolutely wonderful. Located on the waterfront of the East River, the view of Lower Manhattan is breathtaking. Its long unobstructed Boardwalk & Greenway is the perfect place to walk, bike, run or just sit on a bench and savor the view. My first experience with the park was when my Grandson was preschool age. We entered the park via the Atlantic Avenue entrance where there was a plethora of playgrounds & activities for a young child. My Grandson would run from one to the next, loving to keep Grandma on her feet so as to not lose track of him. It was hard because each was in an area where the view of others was obstructed by native greenery that offered hiding spots for a playful preschooler. We had hours of entertainment, the highlight of which for me was when he agreed to sit on a bench for a while & let Grandma rest. hahaha The beautiful boardwalk & greenway provides a nice walking area with benches and a gorgeous view across the river at the Manhattan skyline. When not on child watch duty it's a great place to sit and read a book. My son ran the path daily while training for the NY Marathon. Pebble Beach is a great small area, which is popular with all. It was easier for me when younger when I could get up from sitting on the rocks easier. The Piers are beautiful, offer benches and provide great photo ops when you take first timers to visit. Ferries allow one to go from one area of the waterfront to another. The highlight of the park is the gorgeous view of both the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges from Dumbo. At night it's breathtaking. A number of years ago when my son's office was in Dumbo, he told me he had a surprise. He led me through some overgrown bushes to something that took my breath away. It was a Historical Marker indicating the area where George Washington & his troops crossed the East River into lower Manhattan under the cover of night to escape the British after his defeat in the Battle of Brooklyn. Having a strong interest in the Revolutionary War this was a wonderful surprise. Every time I'm at the riverfront in Dumbo I picture that historic crossing. I'm not sure if the park construction had begun then. Maybe I should explore the area with my son & see if we can find the marker again. Brooklyn Bridge Park is a special place. Once it weaves its way into your heart, it lives there forever.
Had a great day with the buddies on a gorgeous day! There is a path that loops around, revealing different areas of the park to enjoy. Playgrounds for kiddos and large lawn areas for just relaxing and catching rays. Of course, the real gem is the city skyline view. Sunset? Amazing. We were lucky that there wasn't too many people that day. And because it's NYC, we caught several live performances. Music, hula-hoop and stand up comedy??? Crazy good time. This place is a must-do in Brooklyn. Absolutely iconic.
Cool park with great views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge, there's an actual playground for children and at least 3 viewing spots where you can sit and check out the Manhattan skyline. Not too far to walk over to the Brooklyn or manhattan bridge if you want to cross over to Manhattan on foot or bike. Tourist tip I learned from the YouTube channel Here Be Barr. If you're staying on the Manhattan side of New York a cool and inexpensive way to get to this side of Brooklyn is to take the NYC Ferry ($4.50) Astoria Route to Brooklyn Navy Yard route. That stop is about a mile and a half from the park, and from the park you can head over to the Brooklyn Bridge to walk back. On the ferry you'll get some nice skyline water views on your way to Brooklyn then on your way back from the bridge you'll get some more views from the bridge. It's an easy and affordable way to do a mini self tour.
Beautiful park but honestly it's not my cup of tea. **This is only my experience after visiting on a weekend, so it may be atypical. 1) Very crowded. People and car traffic. There's literally people everywhere doing all kinds of things - one group was filming a video. In NYC, they require a permit. Have no idea if they had one & really it's none of my business but it's like there are a million things going on all at once. Stressful. 2) Hard to access. As other people have mentioned, they have drop off spots and they give out parking tickets like candy. 3) Expensive. The area in general is expensive. Living in NYC one gets tired of being charged for everything. With inflation and all the other expenses, I've become more sensitive to what things cost & it's no fun having to itemize every little thing when you go out - because it's true "it all adds up" On the positive side, the views here are great and it's a nice place to watch the sunset. There are sailboats and yachts floating nearby. The views of lower Manhattan and the bridge are stunning. There's a bit of nature too with some gorgeous foliage. And the air quality is fresh since it's by the water. Maybe I was there on the wrong day - will try again at a time when it's less crowded. The views of the bridge & city are worth the effort to visit here.
It's a nice decent sized waterfront park with piers that have been converted for recreational use and where greenery have been added. The 2 closest MTA subway stations are High St and Clark St. From the southern end, you can get to the park via Atlantic Ave or Bridge Park Dr. From the northern end, you can take the Squibb Park Bridge from Columbia Heights or Old Fulton St. I've only been here to attend the race expo at Pier 2 for the Brooklyn Half Marathon. It always looks like a nice spot to get in some exercise or just to relax.
Today we went on a little adventure -- a sightseeing trip that took us by boat to the Statue of Liberty and then close to the Brooklyn Bridge . Seeing both from the water was a beautiful experience -- there's something very special about these iconic places when you're floating right next to them. They feel historic, grand, and alive. After the boat tour, we planned to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge -- it's definitely worth seeing up close, and it makes for amazing photos . But! It was incredibly hot today , and once we started walking, we realized it wasn't the best idea for the weather. So instead, we just took a few great shots at the beginning of the bridge and enjoyed the view from there. Tip: If you're planning to walk across the bridge, check the weather -- especially in summer. There isn't much shade, and the walk is longer than it seems when the sun is beating down. But on a nice day, it must be a wonderful experience! Whether you walk it or just admire it from below, the Brooklyn Bridge is impressive and totally worth a stop. Same for Lady Liberty -- even seeing her from a distance brings a little sense of awe Take photos, soak it in, and make the most of the moment -- New York has magic like no other city RECOMMEND (Personally mine)

I Have been here more times than I can count through out the years figured why not put in my two cents now.. I love this park area, nicely kept grounds & breathtaking city views is all u need to make spending a few hours here feel like u are in a different place. Great stretch of park land where u can sit enjoy some food, catch a summer movie/show or just simply relax & take in the views. Love it here it's a perfect walk for any kind of day of course summer/spring days are more crowded but just as lovely on any winter/ fall day when visiting the area great park to visit. read more

This is a nice park with beautiful views of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline. There are plenty of benches and tables to sit on as well as a lot of green space. Additionally there is a carousel and some eateries. The park runs quite a distance down the river. When visiting Dumbo I was surprised to see that area was also part of the park. The one complaint I had was I assumed I could enter the bridge from the park which is definitely not the case. The entry point is quite odd, and if you are not paying attention you can easily miss it. read more
One of the newer parks in the 5 boroughs. Always a great park to visit with a beautiful backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, East River, Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn Bridge. Well architected and the plantings just bloom in the spring. Summer's bring many activities on Pier 1 and some of my highlights are the Kite Festival, Jazzmobile, and Kayaking with the Brooklyn bridge boathouse. For a wonderful picnic just drop a blanket on Pier 1 and enjoy the sunset. Tips for local eats by the park: Grimaldi's would make a great picnic lunch and Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory is nearby. But stop off at the volleyball sand pits for Bark Hot Dogs and Sixpoint Beer. Every season they bring some new activities to the park as it expands such as in 2012 the new pop up Pool, sandy beach and food stands along with Photoville the photography festival. I'm sure i'll be updating this review in the future as the park builds out and expands more. read more

I was in Manhattan last week, walked over to Dumbo and the Brooklyn bridge to the park. Wow beautiful view of NYC, the bridge is stunning. 5 stars top rated attraction in the city. It's a little scary bc you walked in the middle and the cars are beneath you. Stunning views everywhere. read more
This is definitely one of my go-to parks for me to take pictures or just to walk around when I'm killing time in the area. It's been a drastic 10 years or so ever since the Dumbo area was renovated. One of my favorite attractions about this park is the abundance of shoreline that it provides. That, and the accessibility to local restaurants (Shake Shack, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and local pizza joints) make this park a must-visit. Definitely give this park a visit if you haven't been here already. There's just so much to do here. I'd recommend coming at night if you're looking for stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. There's even a recreational area for soccer, handball and basketball away from the hustle-and-bustle. The park is generally kept clean as sanitation crews are often seen around the park keeping it presentable. There are public restaurants by the recently opened hotels if you ever need it. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my past experiences in this park, and I'd be sure to be back in the future. read more

Never feel disappointed for this park. There are a lot of easy ways to go to this place, subway, bus, car or ferry. Its a big park with everything and always crowded. People are very nice at this park and they seem very happy. read more

WHO: party of 1 WHY: Pokémon hunting and whatever the heck else might be poppin' WHAT: (Deets) WHEN: Last week in March 2017 WHERE: any given pier dude HOW: bike/ public transportation bus B25 trains A/C, 2/3 BATHROOM: roomy (multi-stall, separate gender) WIFI: *shrug* DRESS CODE: as you like SERVICE: varies BOTTOM LINE: This is my second fave recreational area period (Second only to The Brooklyn Botanical Garden). Visit this park with or without the family, your boo, the homies, etc. repeatedly. You'll be glad you did! TIP: There are tons of water Pokémon throughout the park! Check their website. There are multiple things to do, most are free of charge, throughout the week and weekend...ahem did someone say pop-up pool in the summer? What about NYRR Open Runs on Tuesday eves year-round? Did someone else say Movies with a View (I saw a Purple Rain screening thee last year just after the artist transitioned from this realm)? Did I hear yet another body mention Skating? Soooo many options...what are you waiting for, get to it! read more

I truly enjoy going to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It's very calming to me and love the view of the city. One thing I love about this park is there are a lot to do. You can do a picnic, Kayak, roller skate, eat, basketball, handball and many more. It is the best cheap date, entertainment for kids, great thinking place, great place to also grab a drink with some friends. read more

Take a stroll on the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan around sunset time on a warm day. Grab a bite or two around the area. Make a suggestion to come to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Enjoy the beautiful ray of colors or if you come a little later, please your eyes with glimmering lights of the city. Overall, I brought myself for a date here, and impressed myself. After enjoying a nice summer day in New York with friends we had not seen in a while, we decided to close out our visit by visiting the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The view was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy, serene, and very picturesque. We enjoyed our time at Brooklyn Bridge Park so much so that we decided to stop and take pictures to mark the occasion . My husband and I have decided to visit the Brooklyn Bridge Park again whenever we're in town and want a romantic spot to escape to. read more
Love the sunset. New York City such a pretty city. Overseeing downtown Manhattan, statue of liberty, the park is perfect for an evening walk or jog. Parking is impossible to find though. Everywhere is no standing, but people just park their cars there, do it at your own risk. read more
While still under development, this park shaping up to the treasure it is. It stretches right in between Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges, and the views of city skyline, as well as other bridges in the distance are quite spectacular - any time of the day, any weather and any season. Walking and running paths, benches, greenery and most beautiful carousel in the middle of it. Closer to Manhattan Bridge where is a green park with steps leading to the water and children's playground. As I mentioned, it is still under construction, and so are adjacent historical buildings - but the upside is that fencing around them used to Photoville expositions, and they are well worth seeing. It's a great place to come and get inspired, or relax and clear your mind. read more
Quite a lovely park. Nice air conditioned restroom facilities in addition to cute paved pedestrian walkways with trees, mini beach, and sweep vistas of the Manhattan skyline pierced by the Brooklyn bridge. It's quite a site. I highly recommend this little park for New York visitors. Take the subway to Brooklyn heights, walk the promenade and this park, then walk the bridge back to Manhattan. The view is much better walking toward Manhattan. read more

One of the best parks in NYC. It has an incredible skyline view of NYC and is constantly expanding pier by pier. We took a stroll one Saturday night from Pier 6 to Pier 1. Yelp breaks down the park by pier but here's what we thought was unique in each one. Pier 6 begins at Atlantic Ave & Furman Street. There's a Fornino pizza restaurant on the second floor of a building with public restrooms on ground level. There's also a kids playground and volleyball court. Pier 5 hosts the famous Ample Hills Creamery kiosk. There's also a huge soccer field on the pier. Along the river are dozens of picnic tables. Everyone brought their own grills, which made this section of the walk smell delicious. It was also the most crowded part we walked through that night. Smorgasburg is also held here on weekend mornings. Before we dived into the Picnic area, I made sure to snap a photograph of the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge with the gorgeous Empire State Building in view. Pier 4 is relatively tiny compared to the rest of the piers. It's a small beach adorned with huge rocks separating it from the walkway. No swimming allowed. Pier 3 is hard to miss. There are huge granite blocks stacked on top of one another on your right. Lawns are plenty and this summer's Mirror Labryinth public artwork is here. Pier 2 houses a huge recreation center from handball to basketball courts complete with lockers and water fountains. If you walk along the pier, you get one of the best views of the Brooklyn Bridge! The Empire State Building is no longer in view unfortunately. Pier 1 has a little of everything. Food, playground, giant lawns, and the Granite Prospect, stone steps for climbing or sitting down as you admire the skyline and bridge. There is supposedly an Appearing Rooms pubic interactive art piece here during the daytime. I will definitely be coming back to check this out! Pier negative 1 -- Jane's Carousel? Brooklyn Bridge Park opened in 2010 so this was my first visit. http://gothamist.com/2010/03/22/after_more_than_two_decades.php#photo-1 This spot is where heroin addicts (that I know personally ) used to shoot and sell drugs. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2369 Unfortunately they are not in the land of the living any more. But I never thought I would see a day where I would want to go here! It is really so nice what they did to the spot considering it's history. I couldn't find the entrance and I asked a guy I saw with a dog where is the Brooklyn Bridge Park? He thought I was a tourist and said see this is the Brooklyn Bridge and that is the Manhattan Bridge, just go there! I played along like I was a tourist he practically gave me the entire history of Brooklyn. Anyway all there used to be there is rats and junk so it is so nice to see it built into a clean safe park! read more
Beautiful park, and one of the places you must go to in Brooklyn. You're guaranteed to love it unless: -you're bitter and hate couples taking wedding photos in front of you because you're forever alone -watching kids and adults have fun on a carousel brings back traumatic memories of that time you got lost at the mall like in that one Party of Five episode -you don't like watching the sun set over Manhattan because it makes you think about your mortality and all the time you've wasted on earth so far -you're scared of semi-professional photographers with tripods because it reminds you of War of the Worlds And if you hate it now, just wait until they finish expanding it to the Port Authority Piers! read more
So many amazing things down here. I recommend walking the bridge from Manhattan, wearing sunscreen, and comfortable shoes! See the art, grab ice cream (or grimaldis!) see the glass house, and take the ferry to smorgasburg on a saturday, or experience smorgasburg here on a sunday! read more
I haven't been here probably in over 10 yrs and wow how much this place has changed. I wasn't happy about the parking situation but I forgot my annoyance once I got there and saw the beauty of this place. The trails, scenery, carousel, pool, kayaking, beach volleyball are the many things this park has to offer. I was here on an early Saturday morning since my friend wanted to go kayaking for her bday. At first I wasn't to thrill to do it since I grew up in NY and the East River has never been known for being clean. The water wasn't clear but it seem clean and had no odor. If you want to do kayaking they do it for free every Saturday morning at 10am at pier 2. You have to be there early since there is a line. All you do is sign a waiver, get a life vest and waited your turn. They have two types singles for adults and doubles for people with children. Everyone working there was very polite and explain all the rules. They don't give you a time limit but people usually go out for about 20 minutes so the lines moves quickly. Sometimes I forget all the treasures that NY has :) read more
One of Brooklyn's BEST kept secrets. Before I moved to Brooklyn I lived in Astoria. I would in the city everyday for work and there were days where it would be stressful and you just wanna escape. You wanna relax, get some air and get a nice view of the city to clear your mind. This is the place. I away wondered when I was on the in Manhattan looking out in BK. I always wondered what the hell I was looking at. This was the place. During the summer I normally take the F down to East Broadway and pick up some Chinese food or some meat pastry (there are a lot so it's normally Pork Buns). After swooping up my snack and a drink I head back to the F Train and make my way towards York St. Once out I can already feel the calmness take over. Dumbo is a great area. If I could afford it I would live there. There are a few galleries and stores along the way before hitting the park. Once there you can find me on the steps down by the water or on a blanket on the grass. Now if you really want some alone time you can make your way down more past the abandoned open space where they have parties and pitch tent near the boardwalk. It's always less crowded there. This is one of my best kept secrets, but now with the expansion it's no longer a secret.... Hurry up Summer!!! PS... You will always see a Chinese couple here taking pics for there wedding album. There isn't a day that i've been here and I haven't seen at least one. read more
Beautiful park with a beautiful view!! You can see everything ranging from Manhattan to the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn, all with a great view of the water too. There's ample space in this park, so you never feel cramped or have difficulty finding a spot. If you walk through the park along the water, you can see all types of funky sculpture benches and artwork, as well as big grassy areas to play in. There's a pier where kids can do outdoor games/water activities like kayaking or swimming, which seemed super fun. I had a wonderful afternoon walking through the park and reading my book. Next time, I want to bike across Brooklyn Bridge into the park (I heard there's bike valet!) read more

Brooklyn Bridge Park! My favorite park in NYC. I spent far more time running in Prospect Park and Central Park but Brooklyn Bridge Park is far smaller than both and feels wonderfully quaint in comparison. I used to go here with just my book bag and a blanket. I would lie in the park reading books and I often fell asleep there. If you did that in Prospect Park someone might try to jack you. read more

I have lived in NYC for over 10 years and I never went to Brooklyn Bridge Park until just a few days ago. When I was in high school, I used to sit across the river on the pier and stare at the watchtower clock. Knowing it was Brooklyn but always wondering what it looked like over there. After dinner at Pedro's and exploring our new neighborhood, we encountered Brooklyn Bridge Park at sunset. It was some of the most spectacular views of the downtown Manhattan skyline I've ever seen. Absolutely breath taking and the new landscaping is beautiful. In fact, a company has been contracted to revamp the entire Brooklyn "shoreline". Oh who doesn't want to fall in love with NYC city light in the background? By far, the perfect place to see the magnificent Manhattan view, to love and be loved..Oh mon amour... The park is new and still clean. Go there late at night as it is more quiet and easier to park (park closed at 12-1 AM), enjoy the spectacular view and have some laugh when those wickedly loud music from cruise boat pass by! read more
Great park! And free kayaking! Hello! I volunteered today for the kayaking. Pros: 1) Get a tan 2) Meet cute girls* 3) Get a little workout in whilst setting up or closing up shop 4) Meet cute girls** 5) Go kayaking when no one is in line for single kayaks! Cons: 1) N/A *Assist aforementioned girls with donning their life jackets. **Provide assurance to the scared that they won't tip over and you'd save them if they did. ;) read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I came here on a Thursday and I have to say it was worth the trek from the Bronx. The 4 train left me kind of far so I was pretty lost and the cops in the area had no idea what I was talking about when I asked them about this park. I just walked in the direction of the NYC skyscrapers and hoped for the best. I eventually found it and I have to say the view was SPECTACULAR! The piers were not crowded- probably because people can't find it. We got to walk around for a bit and then went to sit by Pebble beach. Not many tourists so it was a great place to sit quietly overlooking the water. If I could afford it I would so move to this area just to be able to walk around there in the mornings. The sun was setting so a few people were there snapping pictures. We sat by some logs watching the city from across the water. Definitely one of the coolest experiences I've ever had in NYC. I will certainly go back this summer so I can lay out, grab some ice cream and just relax. read more
