Just finished my followup of my LANAP Laser Treatment at Dr. Devito and must say although it was a tricky process to get my insurance to approve a partial of this necessary osseus gum surgery, finally it's all over and I couldn't be happier. Jessica was awesome in helping me figure out costs and working tirelessly with my insurance. Thanks! It was done in two parts (to allow the other half of the mouth to be able to eat after each session). It was a great alternative than have to be cut open, sutured back up and having to withstand a longer healing time period.The process itself is quite painless, just a few quick pinches for numbing and after that it's pretty much a breeze. Dr. Devito has a very soft tender hand and is very accommodating to any discomfort. The process takes about an hour and the only downside is the smell of the laser zapping away all the germs and bacteria. Way better than having to go under a knife however. I appreciated asking the millions of questions and having each answered expertly and thoroughly. Recovery: It takes a few days for your mouth to stop feeling sore and having to eat only mushy foods, no straw usage, surprisingly strict no brushing or flossing of the treated area for a week, just the use of a special mouthwash that can be purchased in the office. Medication is prescribed for pain and as antibiotics. But honestly I didn't really need the pain meds so much. Results: So Its only been a bit over a week from finalizing all quadrants in my mouth but I can say that I've noticed a dramatic difference in that my gums no longer bleed anymore when brushing or flossing. I also feel that my mouth feels a lot fresher even though I have alway been an adamant brusher and mouthwasher. Flossing was what I avoided a lot due to the sensitivity of my gums and bleeding. Now with no sight of either, I actually find myself to floss every single day at least once. And my greatest compliment today and has me was that my "gums never looked better" and am so happy I got the procedure done. Now I just need to maintain and keep monitoring my gum health. But there really is no describing the feeling of accomplishment in my mouth health journey, from when I was first diagnosed months ago to today when I am happy to have invested in this procedure. In a nutshell, my tooth saga began in 2015 when I had a cavity so bad on my last molar that it had to be removed. I didn't have insurance at the time so I put off getting an implant until I did. Enter NYC Dental Professionals. I first went in for a cleaning in January 2017. Dr. De Vito was very thorough and we talked about a course of treatment for the implant. Naturally, I was nervous but went ahead with it. The entire process took 6 months and although I dreaded every second I was on that chair, everyone there was very professional and great at their jobs. This review was written with a smile and [at last] a full set of teeth P.S.: I've seen a couple of reviews about patients with issues with billing and being charged a rescheduling fee. I'm not sure if there was a change in management but I've never once had an issue with them with billing (and even with insurance, this procedure wasn't cheap) or rescheduling. read more

I came to this office to see Dr Alexander the root canal specialist for a root canal on a molar. The procedure sounded complicated since my molar has 3 roots and I was told I may need to have it done in multiple sessions. But Dr Alexander was a trooper and finished my procedure in one session which took an hour. I had the procedure done about 3 weeks ago and so far everything is healing as expected. Hopefully it'll be fine in the long term. So for now I would recommend Dr Alexander. Location of this office is somewhat convenient. Office is clean and receptionist is nice. Dr Alexander was friendly and answered all of my questions. Dr Alexander is only available on Fridays. Billing is weird bc they don't do the billing, the other times sq office does it. I go there normally so it's no problem for me but it can be cumbersome. read more

I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism. I have been overcharged (and refused a refund, they would only "credit my account"), made to wait 6 weeks for a tooth extraction when I couldn't eat, and then my appointment mysteriously disappeared from the calendar today. Wildly unacceptable. When I did have a tooth extracted at this facility, over a month later a large bone fragment that had been causing me extraordinary discomfort emerged from the extraction site. Dr. DeVito was really great. Cannot complain at all about his quality as a dentist. Quick, thorough, caring. However, the billing department lacks integrity. I was not able to make my second appointment, so I obviously called ahead of time to cancel. Unfortunately, I did not get written confirmation saying that they in fact cancelled my appointment on my behalf, and was charged $50 eventhough I did call ahead to let them know I would not be able to keep my appointment. I called them several times to discuss and the issue, but they did not care and went ahead and charged me. All they said was that the receptionist I called did not longer work there and so they couldn't take my word for it - pretty much called me a liar. I don't believe I was treated fairly, and I think this needs to be known by anyone looking to visit this practice. read more

Dr. Ghobadi extracted my tooth, left a piece of broken probe behind in my tooth, did not do an x-ray, and bone grafted on top of it. That broken piece of probe has penetrated my sinus membrane and I have to go through additional surgery to remove it. This is totally unacceptable. read more

I am leaving this practice after several years as a patient. It's an administrative nightmare -- I am never billed correctly and always must spend hours after my appointment resolving the correct amount that I owe. Today my appointment was cancelled by the doctor because he ran over an hour late with another patient and its such a small office that there was nobody else to see me. They have offered me a tooth whitening kit I don't need as an apology, but refuse to credit my account in any way that would be meaningful to me. It's a shame because the dental work is satisfactory, but I cannot return to a practice that is this wasteful of my time, nor should you. read more

When someone makes an appointment and receives emails and text message providing the time of your appointment, you would think nothing go wrong. Well apparently things in writing means nothing to this practice. I made and had an appointment for 12:00pm. Even received a text message stating what time my appointment was for 2 hours before the schedule appointment, only to be told your appointment was 11:45 in person. Now when I arrived exactly at 12 with my paperwork already completed, I was told by the so-called office manager "I mention when I called you it was "11:45"". Now if you call someone (the day before I may add) to confirm appointment that person knows what time they made the appointment for why would they think anything would change. In addition, you have emails and text message confirming your appointment for the exact time you arrived there are no questions asked nothing to argue. In addition, if someone does have an appointment for 11:45 and does not have paperwork completed than does not that take 5-10 mins off the appointment. However, I guess this practice does not budget for that. Then they decide to take me but we can only do partial services but I pretty sure they would probably bill for complete appointment. As a professional, myself I will not be seeing anyone who does not keep to their word in writing. I advise anyone not to see any professional that is unprofessional. read more

hi all, please do not visit this place. i had a deep root cleaning and the receptionist told me it that it would be $85 per quardant and the invoice i received said the same. my insurance emailed me and said that they actually charged them $350 per quardant not $85 and my bill came out to $1400 and my insurance cover 80% of it so now i am stuck with a heavy bill of $280. the procedured looked and felt like a normal cleaning, there was nothing special about it and it did not make a difference to my teeth. please do not go to this dental office they are scammers!!!!!!!!!! they do not try to work with you and also it is illegal to send another invoice to my insurance with a higher bill. I will be reporting this to the American Dental Association but I wanted to share with you all. read more

I figured 10+ years between dental visits was long enough to wait. I was recommended Dr's Devito and Kogan through a friend and made my appointment. Melissa was both accommodating and knowledgeable, she was able to promptly answer my insurance and procedure questions given that I had not been to a dentist in over a decade. The office and equipment are brand new (and thus very clean) and the general ambiance of the office is calm and relaxing. I came a little early to fill out some paperwork and Dr Kogan was able to see me as soon as I competed it. Dr Kogan himself was very friendly and only jokingly scolded me over not having been to a dentist on over 10 years. He explained everything that would be done that day and was very courteous and an expert at his craft. I returned later that month for a full deep cleaning and was equally impressed. I would highly recommend NYC Dental Professionals to anyone and look forward to my 6 month visits. read more

Terrible dentist. They did quite a lot of work on my teeth and misled me about the costs, leaving me with an unexpected and very large bill. And the work they did was terrible. The dentist I go to now has told me that much of the work they did was unnecessary and poorly done, costing me a lot to fix. read more

This is without a doubt the most unprofessional dentist office that I have been to and I tried them out 3 times to make sure one bad experience was the SOW. They will screw up your appointment, you will get up-charged on services, manhandled by the dental hygienist (literally draped herself over top of me with her huge boobs in my face while she pressure washed my gums - they bleed for the rest of the day), and the crook of a dentist (female with blonde hair and fake green contacts) will try to get you to pay for $1800 a new crown BEFORE YOU NEED IT OR HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THE TOOTH. When I declined, she walked out of the room and didn't look at my teeth (I was there for a standard cleaning). She only scanned the X-rays for the biggest money making issue! If you call ahead to check if a procedure is covered on your plan, they will lie to you and say yes (including more expensive x-rays) than the standard allowed by insurance. A complete racket. So many other great dentist in this area. Run, run, run the other way. read more

I had a cavity treatment and crown job at my previous dentist which left me with a lot of pain. They kept telling me that it's completely normal to feel the pain and to give a few weeks. I knew something wasn't right and I couldn't bear the pain. I found Dr. Kogan on Yelp. I saw his associate, who was great. She took one look and said that I needed a root canal and that the gum had an infection. They referred me to NYC Dental Professionals. Dr. Kogan's office made an appointment for me and they saw me within a few days. Dr. Alexander explained the procedure thoroughly before, during, and after the treatment. this was the least painful root canal I've ever had done. I took one Tylenol after the procedure, and after that I was not in pain at all. My friends were surprised to see me at a social gathering that evening. If I ever have to do a root canal again, I'd definitely go back to NYC Dental Professional. read more
