He talks a real good one with zero substance. Promises you the world and does little or nothing. I should of known not to give him one black penny as soon as I saw Con Ed Bills going into judgement!! I gave this bum $1000.00 to start what became over a $3,000 project. It took him forever for him to start the job all while he promised I was next on line! Needless to say after he had my THOUSAND. I felt forced to deal with this shister. I missed all but 3 WEEKS of the season. But that's not the worst part at all! I had to take my bike back and fourth cause this idiot had it hostage most of the riding season. I never received any of the OEM parts that he took off my bike. He never finished the job either. He still owes me over $400 dollars in service and $750 dollars in OEM parts that he never gave back. He will tell you you can come back anytime for the service and parts, and act like hes your best buddy from high school, until you ask him to produce. That's when he Stops Returning Calls. BE CAREFUL. HE USES an ANSWERING SERVICE and HAS TO SCREEN CALLS. ***UPDATE: HE READ MY REVIEW AND NOW HAS GIVEN UP ON THE ANSWERING SERVICE. 5 star rating is right and if there was 10 stars Carlos and his staff would get that. I invested in my first Harley and everything on this bike was custom and all done by Harley. My wife also started to learn how to ride and she bought a Triumph Bonneville. My time to convert from streetbike to a cruiser finally came, but my harley was hardly just a cruiser. I'm a New Yorker born and raised, but was very uncertain on motorcycle mechanics in Brooklyn or even the 5 boroughs. My wife's Triumph needed some fine tuning and adjustments made. She did some research and called Brooklyn Motor Works and left a message. Shortly after received a call back from Carlos and she was immediately impressed by his eagerness and friendly Red Hook attitude. I took her bike down to BMW to meet Carlos and see what he thinks needs to be done right away to make this bike 100% for a beginner rider. I was very impressed by the knowledge of motorcycles that he had from the big and smallest details. Carlos noticed things on her bike that most mechanics would not notice. He made simple changes such as Handlebar adjustment, levers, foot pegs, etc to make my wife's ride perfect for her body. My wife's safety is everything on her motorcycle and Carlos made that happen. Honest and to the point is what kind of shop this is, Carlos wrote down every part and it's price and the labor. We looked up every part together and he showed me. I would never let anyone work on my Harley except for the Dealership. Carlos and I started putting together a plan on performance upgrades for my bike that's how much I trust and have all the confidence in Brooklyn Motor Works. The service is fast, reliable, and the prices beat all mechanics in this area for the great service you get. The shop is sick and in the best part of red hook. My husband is a nice guy and wont say anything bad about anyone. But after he told me what he experienced today, I told him if he wouldnt write the review, I would. My money is his money, and his money is my money, and what happened today at Brooklyn MotorWorks annoyed me. My husband got a new/old bike this week. He registered it and needed to get an inspection. He called Brooklyn Motorworks the day before and they told him to come by today. The guy at the shop named "Mike" did the inspection. When it was over he told my husband "that will be $40." The inspection took 5 min and everyone should know inspections cost $6 and its ILLEGAL to charge more. I told my husband to report them. Hes considering it. When getting ready to leave the shop, my husband's bike's battery was dead. Not the fault of Brooklyn Motor Works, but the previous bike owner. Mike was kind enough to give my husband a jumpstart. He noticed the charging rate was low and told my husband the shop could fix it, and that he would send over an estimate. Hours later, the shop sends over an estimate of $1,002. They listed parts they would replace that my husband said they dont know for sure are faulty. I think Mike told him something to the effect of "better to change all the charging system components." Ummm, no, thats ridiculous. You troubleshoot and then change the faulty part. I did some online research and this shop is getting a bad reputation for a reason. My husband bought a new battery, charged it, and the problem was solved. After reading other reviews, it seems they lure you in, tell you they will get it done, take a deposit, and then sit on your bike. So glad my husband dodged the bullet by not taking his bike to them for the electrical problems. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

I went to Brooklyn Motor works today. I had called earlier to see if I could bring in my bike and Carlos (owner and Chief mechanic) said bring it in the afternoon. I like a place that can take you right in. So I did, and Carlos was a true pro. He took care of me and replaced my rear brake rotor. It had been a small but persistent problem and I'm glad I met him. His charges were fair and his work honest.I got to watch him work and as a mechanic myself, I can tell you that he knows what he is doing. He also took the time to show his apprentice how to work effectively and shared his experience with him. That tells me he has a passion for the work.I now have a reliable shop and experienced wrench to rely on. Glad I met him. read more

Los at brooklyn motor works is a true genius. My fork seals on my 07 s4rs ducati went to shit. He was able to have it up and running in a few hours. On the low he's a Ducati guy. He was patient, took the time to understand what I wanted, offered several options in different price points and then delivered big time. You want your bike taken care of? head down to redhook. These guys know what they are doing and don't leave out problems like some other bike shops do. Chris fixed my indicator lights and also found issues that I wouldn't of been able to catch myself. Much respect for these guys and I will definitely come back next time I need to read more
