So I was searching a couple of weeks for a Pink Princess Philodendron because I thought she was so beautiful and I had to have one. I hadn't ran across one yet and my mom suggested this nursery that was not too far from her house. All these years and I've never been. I walked over there and I was in heaven when I arrived. There was plants galore. Beautiful plants and at an amazing price. I knew what I came to find but I took my time looking at all the green beauties. It didn't take me long to find my pretty Pink Princess. It was so funny because as im choosing one, this song was playing in the background. UGK- International Player ( I Choose You) it was fate lol. Big selection but didn't carry what I was looking for. I asked two employees where are the jasmines and they pointed opposite directions; but guess what, there weren't any! Owner (?) in the end said they didn't have any until next week so I was looping around the joint for no good reason before speaking to him but it was okay, I got to check out their healthy supply of plants before hauling away orchids because I couldn't resist the colors and price. read more

Located in Brooklyn Terminal Market's warehouse section (also known as "Brooklyn's Best Kept Secret"), Plantology has great products. The plants are healthy and there is a good selection. They have tools, potting soil, and supplies. The pots and planters are gorgeous! According to their website, they also offer wine making equipment, grapes and juice in September and October. I went there to purchase some herbs. I was looking for basil, they had oregano. I asked and was told the selection changes over time. They had some gorgeous smelling lavender though. I like the warehouse location - there's a lot to see there. It's a little tough to get in and out of the area - lots of forklifts and trucks around - but well worth the effort. read more

Visited during the annual 50% off sale and discovered active mealybug infestations on Staghorn ferns while loading the plant into my car. When I returned the plant to the store, staff acknowledged they were aware that the Staghorns were infested and stated this was the reason for the discount. However, there was no signage or disclosure anywhere in the store indicating plants were being sold with active pest infestations. Mealybugs pose a serious risk to other houseplants. Buyers should inspect carefully and be aware that discounted plants may be knowingly infested. read more

I have bought plenty of plants from them without any insects infestation. And thier plants are very healthy. They have a huge variety of planters and pots, down to garden tools and soil...everything you need in a Nursery! One of my favorite places to visit and worth the trip out to Brooklyn. Kind of a cool plant store to check out if you have never been. Brooklyn Plantology is the largest family-owned and operated garden center in Brooklyn. Opened since 1946, its 20,000 sq ft store has a vast variety of beautiful houseplants, shrubs, trees, pots, outdoor decoration, statues and birdbathes, etc. So much to choose from. Right now, it's the perfect time to go if you are growing your own vegetables. They have lots of seedlings available. Prices are inexpensive to reasonable, compared to a lot of other garden stores. Staff is very knowledgeable if you are looking for something in specific or need help with something. It's a bit hard to get to, without a car. Also it's housed in a warehouse area of Brooklyn so there is not a whole lot of pedestrian traffic. Go by car, drive into the outdoor terminal market, inside find the specific store you are looking for and park anywhere you can find a spot, usually in front of the store if its not too busy. While walking around, be careful of the big delivery trucks that occasionally drive through the terminal. And of course you will need the car to shlep your fabulous finds back home and of course you will find many. read more

I love this plant nursery and the variety is infinite and they also sell everything you need for your plants (pots, fertilizer). This is my 2nd time visiting, last day I went was during summer time and the entrance was full of plants, felt like an oasis. Since now is winter time and not prime season for plants there isn't as much inventory BUT there is still a lot of plants to pick from. The prices are fair and considerable cheaper than most nurseries I have been to. I truly love coming here and I always find a new baby. I oh hoy recommend going you will not regret it ! read more

Horrible business practice and rude manager who could care less and accepts no responsibility ! I traveled all the way to this store following a post on Instagram that mentioned a 50-% off sale that was running through the end of the week. I shopped, and upon check out- they did not honor the 50% off sale which was posted on your ig page!!! There were also sporadic 50% off signs throughout the store on various items. The post says that the sale runs till the end of this week, until new plants come in. There was nothing out but the same things thay have had on sale for the duration of your clearance. I know this bc I shopped the sale earlier in the month. The manager is extremely rude and disregarded the fact that it says on their Instagram page that the sale will be until the end of the week (I shipped on a Thursday, typically the end of the week means Friday/Saturday. He refused to acknowledge this, and told me "the girl who runs the Instagram is sick and didn't have a chance to remove the post!! " Well, any decent store would honor the advertised sale. It's not my fault that they didn't remove the post!!!! BAD BUSINESS to not honor the posted sale!!!! I was purchasing an overgrown sanseveria that was absolutely part of the 50% off sale the week prior, and was not in great condition..I had to come back to buy it because it was too big. I had an issue with pricing the last time I shopped here too- there was a sign that said "all hanging pots $10" and the one I chose rang up $12.50- when I pointed out the sign, I was told that I must be confused, and my plant was 50% off off $25.. not $10- eventhough there were others of the same plant hanging inches from the sign- this $10 hanging baskets sale was ALSO POSTED ON THEIR INSTAGRAM. The manager totally disregarded the fact that I pointed out the sign and the Instagram advertisement, so I didn't buy it on principle. There is no reason to be stingy and lose customers because the management doesn't know how to clearly identify sales and prices and post clear signage. brooklyn plantology has now lost several customers due to your poor management and unwillingness to admit fault. There are many other places to shop in the area that treat their customers extremely well and would ALWAYS honor posted sales! Shame on you for treating your customers like trash! read more

Coming to this place after hearing about it for awhile, was like being taken to a candy store. I was very excited and walked around naming all the plants. There were a few plants that I was hoping to see that were not present so I did a thorough walk around to find 'new plant babies.' I settled on 3 and was surprised they were so cheap upon going to the register. I had been following their Instagram page and knew they had a 50% off sale recently, but thought it ended since there were no signs posting sales. I left super happy and contemplating going right back. I wish that was the end of it, but two days later I found mealy bugs on one plant and freaked out. I am not blaming them as I know you should always check your plants and isolate them. Just make sure you check your plants! My plants seem to be okay and I reached out to the store's social media to ask for help with mealy bugs. The woman who handles the page was very helpful. read more

This place is worse than Target - you think you are only walking in for milk; in my case, it was potting soil, and next thing you know, you have a cart full of plants and gorgeous planters. If you are a true plant lover, please stop buying plants from the big box stores and ONLY SHOP FROM PLANTOLOGY. Plants at big box stores are usually full of gnats, and you will undoubtedly infest your other plants. Plantology's plants are meticulously taken care of, their staff is knowledgeable and kind, and the space is a beautiful oasis. We stop in here weekly just to see what new goodies have arrived. Wow wow wow.... This place is a plant lovers heaven. I've only recently become a plant lover but when I saw pictures of this place I knew I had to come here. I took the trek all the way to Canarsie from my side of Brooklyn and I must say that it was totally worth the trip. This place is gigantic! There are 2 outdoor spaces (front & back) and a massive indoor space. They have pretty much every plant and flower that you can dream of at very affordable prices. As I mentioned before, I'm still new to this plant game but these are the cheapest yet most well taken care of plants that I have yet to see. It is absolutely incredible. Even the plant accessories such as the soil, shovels, planters etc. are affordable. This is the type of place where there is definitely something for everyone. I would highly recommend Brooklyn Plantology for all of your plant needs, not to mention it looks like this place turns into a Christmas wonderland in December I sure cant wait to see! read more

There is a great plant selection, phenomenal even, but customer service is horrible. I initially went because I was told it's black owned. I asked several employees for help, they kept blowing me off and sending me to other people. Watched one guy help two ladies for 10 minutes, running around in the hot sun fetching plants for them to peruse, but told me he was too busy to help me when I asked him for help after he had finished with them. He then went off to drink water and chill in the back. Saw him dismiss another woman the same way. The only person who was any help at all, was Gary. Contacted the store to share my experience and received zero response. There are other nurseries in terminal market. I won't be back to this one. read more

If you are starting an indoor or outdoor garden and do not have a car, this place is your guardian angel! I needed large planters and bags of soil and got tired of carrying one heavy item at a time home from the nearest hardware store which is four blocks away. I came here for those basic supplies, but in the process I was also able to pick up flats of herbs, vegetables, annuals, perennials, and some lovely houseplants. Rose at the checkout counter gave me great advice about what to buy. The prices are reasonable (and much better than at Home Depot or Target). MOST OF ALL a shout out to the amazing delivery service. For a totally reasonable price Plantology delivered everything. They were flexible about scheduling a time. The delivery person was a total prince. read more

My search brought me to this place and while its huge, I found that the quality if some of the plants was not the greatest. I know it's hard to keep track of all of these plants and make sure they're watered but out of all of the monstera's, I didn't find one that I wanted. This place is SO big and has literally everything I could've needed for houseplants. I'd drive if you can. You'll see in my picture that I got 8 plants (plus a pot) - it all cost me $80! In my opinion that was a pretty great deal. I'd been cross checking with some other online nurseries and pricing was super comparable. I buy my Christmas trees at the Brooklyn Terminal almost every year along with some poinsettia plants because they have a great selection and good prices however this year the guy was rude when I asked to see some of the bounded trees. He said there were plenty of open trees and they don't open them unless there weren't many on display. It was never a problem in all the other years I've been there even when their displays were full. Got 3x pothos and some assorted succulents during their plant sale. Selection was pretty sparse but I did go on the last day of the sale. Price was right but sadly all 3 pothos have a lot of mealybugs. Manually removed them and sprayed with neem oil but still pretty disappointing. read more

The only difficulty here is that they rarely have saucers to match their pots. This is an issue with most places though. We always find great stuff here. We found a pot that was being sold at Pottery Barn for $500...here for 150. It's definitely not curated but worth taking an Uber to Canarsie!! read more
