Four employees ignoring a customer standing directly in front of them. After about 45 seconds and saying "good afternoon" to them, one stopped his banter long enough to ask me what I needed. Unhelpful, unmotivated, and unenthusiastic, I get the bare minimum help. To add insult to injury, he hands the merchandise and a bag separately. I went in to buy a shower head, they got one for me and I paid $45 for it. I then remembered I had a few bathroom lavatories that were missing sinks stoppers. I ask the guy if they have bathroom sink stoppers and he tells they're not sold individually and only come with the full ball/lever stopper assembly. I was shocked because that is a blatant lie. I just said 'OK' and left. I visited this place to avoid going all the way down to Home Depot but I should have made the trek because I got the stoppers and saw the same shower head model cheaper! I'm not mad about the shower head because it was only ~$5 cheaper and I get that chains get bulk rates. I saw the reviews saying how helpful they are but that was not my experience. Perhaps the guy misunderstood what I was asking for but I doubt it. If you don't sell something just say so. Don't take me for a fool and feed me BS. read more

I recently renovated my bathroom and we needed just about everything. The guys at Brooklyn Plumbing Supply are know it alls in a good way. You know all those little pieces that you need but no one tells you about? Well they tell you about them. Prices are pretty good and they're a one stop shop. There are always a bunch of construction guys milling around so be prepared ladies - LOL! No rudeness, just know that this is a "Yo Adrienne" kinda shop so just enjoy the complimentary winks, get all your supplies and be happy that you didn't have to drive to a hundred different places. My father was looking for a 1/2 horse power submersible sump pump and decided to call Brooklyn Plumbing where he usually gets his stuff from even though I told him I had found a great price online. They wanted $500 for a 1/2 horsepower sump pump and $150 for a 1/3 hp sump pump. I found the 1/2 horse power sump pump online for $101.98 shipped to my door. Now I've heard of overpriced, but this place is clearly severely overpriced for product. With that being said, their service may be good... but be sure to do your research online and be aware that mom and pop stores like this sometimes may be dishonest and try to squeeze you for every last penny. One of the earlier reviews was praising these guys for staying open late but who wouldn't stay open late to make a great sale? It's not like they close at 9 pm and waited until 11 pm, they close at 5... I just find it sickening how consumers are willing to just pay a price w/o doing research... Do your research people, saved my father about $400 today! read more

This review is based upon a phone question I had about recycling an old faucet handles. The gentleman who answered the phone was kind, patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. He affirmed they try to recycle as much as possible. When I realized he was in another borough, I asked if there was a place closer to us he could recommend. He explained that if there were still brass components, they could be of value and other places/people might wish to take the parts. Wonderful phone service! After suffering with a terrible shower head that had very little water pressure, I knew I needed a new one. I went to Brooklyn Plumbing and was taken care of immediately. And even though they were closing soon, I wasn't rushed out the door like in many other stores. Not knowing exactly what I was looking for, Elan helped me pick out the perfect shower head which turned out to be exactly what I needed. I have discovered that Brooklyn Plumbing & Heating Supply will, in most instances, have whatever plumbing part you may be in need of and the employees are quite knowledgeable (as correlated to plumbing supplies). However, every time I patronize Brooklyn Plumbing I am made to feel as though I do not belong inside their establishment. An example: I had walked inside the showroom to order an A.O. Smith pilot assembly; after placing my order I had been asked wait a few minutes. I began to walk around to the floor to view the plumbing displays, but my walking around did not sit well with the individuals employed within the showroom. Furthermore, I was charged $89.60 for the A.O. Smith pilot assembly. The same pilot assembly/thermocouple was available at another plumbing supply store for only $51.95 (all taxes included). I never feel comfortable walking into Brooklyn Plumbing and I am always over charged! read more

I ran into a pretty bad situation where I needed to buy a hot water stem to fix my bath tub faucet. I was stuck with no hot water for my shower for 3 days! I spent 3 days looking all over home depot, loewes, and many local plumbers and nobody got the part. I don't know the part number so I can't buy it online and I need it immediately. I got a tip from one of the guys at home depot and he said these guys got every plumbing thing you need. I was not able to stop by until late around closing time and these guys were luckily still open. I called them 3 times to make sure they waited for me and they apparently did. The guy who was helping me seems to know his stuff. He too had hard time figuring out the part I need and took more than 15 minutes to look over the store and parts manual. I mentioned he might have to order the part and it might take a couple of days. The Thanksgiving day is a couple of days away so I would expect it next week. I was desperate so I had to say yes. The guy later spoke with another colleague that immediately recognizes it as a jacuzzi hot water stem. They went back together and they found my part. I am very grateful for them to spend the time to help me look for the part and stayed past their closing time. I was out with the part at 6:30 and the place closes at 6:00. Brilliant problem solvers and excellent service. These guys built a custom faucet for an ancient antique sink. They spent over an hour working together to develop a custom solution to my plumbing problem (I think that four or five guys engaged in the debate). I feel so fortunate to have found them and will go out of my way to patronize them in the future. You should, too. Speaking of patronization, I am a woman and I got none of it. On one of the few cold days we've experienced this summer-ish winter, I went to turn on my boiler and noticed it was making a self-destruction sounding noise, so I immediately shut it off and called my plumber. He said the cast iron block was cracked and the gas valve was shot as well. He recommended a new boiler, so as soon as I asked him where to get it, he immediately recommended Brooklyn Plumbing Supply. They asked me a couple of question to size the boiler out, after a few questions(and some friendly conversation) they sold me a beautiful boiler at a beautiful price. I read on one of the reviews that you should do you're research, and I did, and I found that the price I received was rather good. Isn't that what you want in you're shopping experience? If I ever have a plumbing problem again in this life, I'd rather suffer through a flood. The first issue I had was in the store. I couldn't get anyone to service me. They all seemed too busy to ask what I needed. Including the big gent in the front, who was too busy texting at the counter. When I finally got someone to talk to me, I was rushed through for an item they said would be brought to the store in 1 day. I was advised that I'd be called when it came so that I could pick it up. The next day, no one called. I called and was told it would take another day and I'd be called. The next day I was called and told that my item (a sink face basin) was brought to store, but was damaged. It was sent back, and it would take another 2 days(over the weekend). The following Monday- no basin and no call. I called and was promised it would take another day. I then asked could it be delivered. They agreed. The next morning I called early in morning and was told it would be in store by noon and and would go right out. Needless to say that didn't happen. I called again and again was told by 5:30. I'm sitting here and it's 5:53pm and no basin. I called and he tells me it's in the truck! If I didn't need this basin immediately, I'd tell them where he can put the face basin!!! I am renovating my bathroom and my plumber recommended I head to Brooklyn Plumbing Supply for help with fixtures, showerheads, etc. I walked in and was immediately helped by Stryker. He worked with me for hours to try to find the right fixtures and products for my frustratingly small and oddly designed bathroom. He explained things to me when I wasn't sure what he was talking about, was courteous and friendly, and actually helped turn this process (which has otherwise been a big, expensive headache!) into a pleasant and fun experience. From the shopping around I did, their prices seem competitive, and I never felt any pressure to buy the most expensive product as they don't work off commission. In this process I've gone into a lot of showrooms, bathroom supply stores, and other home improvement related businesses, and never felt as well-taken care of as I did here. You don't find customer service like that very often! I came out of their store more informed and feeling excited about seeing the bathroom come together. I purchased all of the plumbing and hardware and fixtures for a new bathroom from Brooklyn Plumbing. The salesman who helped us the day we placed our order was patient and polite. Unfortunately once the construction started on the bathroom we were made aware that he actually had little to no knowledge of what he supplied us with. We had numerous issues with items being left out of the order, the wrong sized items being ordered and delivered even though we provided precise measurements beforehand and items being delivered broken. I was assured by multiple employees numerous times that everything would be "taken care of". Well over 2 months has passed and I still am waiting for replacement deliveries. I have been lied to over and over again. The store has claimed that the packages were sent UPS to the incorrect address and they have no Tracking numbers. I have been told the store secretary would say anything she can on the phone to try and please the customer even if it isn't true. My advice, RUN away as fast as you can from this place. Extremely unprofessional service from a store that charges top dollar for their services. read more
