This past Sunday I checked out Brooklyn Tea on my way home from church with my sister. Their tea options are extensive! It took me awhile to decide on the tea I wanted. The two young ladies that worked there were extremely patient and informative. Customer service was top tier. I ordered the Vanilla Rooibose which was delicious and my sister got the Cream Earl gray latte and she loved it. We ordered blueberry waffles and chocolate chip waffles. Both vegan and both delicious. We also bought some loose tea to go. They sell the tea by the ounce here. The place is small but they have both indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell shop swag and a lot of their dishes are named after Brooklyn hip hop songs. This place is definitely worth a trip to Brooklyn. Can't wait to go back on my next visit to Brooklyn.

I had Brooklyn Tea on my to-do list ever since I came across them on Instagram, and I'm so glad I finally made the trip. What I expected to be a quick visit turned into a much longer stay -- that's how warm, welcoming, and special this place is. The space itself is cozy, but it feels so much bigger than just a tea shop. It's a place full of community, education, inspiration, and history. Everyone who walked in felt like they belonged, no matter where they came from -- the vibe is truly that inviting. The service stood out right away. Authentic, kind, and genuinely helpful. I had the chance to do some tea tastings, and the staff took their time sharing knowledge and making thoughtful recommendations. I left not only with a few teas and a bowl, but also with a deeper appreciation for the world of tea. My standards are officially raised! Also, learning that this is a first-gen, Black-owned business -- and that they're now opening in the airport in NYC -- just made me even more excited to support them. It's the kind of place that deserves all the love and attention it gets. I ordered matcha with agave and then later ordered a floral tea that I cannot recall. Brooklyn Tea, I'll absolutely be back soon -- and if you're even thinking about going, let this be your sign. Go.

Amazing Service! Amazing Vibes! Amazing Tea! I spent 2hrs here and it truly was worth every minute. The owners were friendly and very knowledgeable about tea and were willing to answer any and all questions. I meet some really cool people and it felt so nostalgic being in a tea shop again. The tea was so delicious, I had 2 cups while there- Apple Cider and Cucumber Melon- both 10/10. I also got to taste Chocolate Mint latte, which tasted like a cookie. Traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn Tea was definitely worth the two train transfers and 10 min walk while the temp was dropping. The tea's were hugs in a cup and greatly appreciated. I brought plenty to hold me until I travel back to visit.

Such a cute little tea shop in the neighborhood. The staff are immediately very welcoming. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by all of the great tea options. The employees are pretty knowledgeable about what's what and offer great suggestions. They sell packaged loose leaf tea, branded swag, and gear. They also have baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and vegan options. Unfortunately, gluten free was not an option. I love the vibe here. They have a few seating areas inside and outside. Great customer service. Don't sleep on this awesome little tea spot!

A smooth warm latte that was recommended. Coconut oolong latte. So warm and sweet. I'm definitely going to go back for this again.

Great place to have tea and to zen out. I usually get my tea to go but I had time. I got a nice latte. I like that was greeted warmly when I came in. I told the tea gentleman what I was looking for and he didn't disappoint. The space is quaint and cozy. Almost like being in one's living room. I also loved the fact that the music was audible but not overwhelming and very soothing. I will definitely be back when I am in BK to get my tea fix and BIGGIE cookies.

The staff is very friendly and Knowledgeable. They have an amazing selection of teas.

Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The azuki matcha was a dud. It was missing the earthiness and sweetness of the azuki bean. Instead, it just tasted like chunky matcha. The black sesame latte was sweeter than expected. This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

The cafes, coffee bars and eateries who recognize the need to connect are the real entrepreneurs. Polly's Cafe patrons are sipping coffee drinks made with La Colombe and devouring Balthazar pastries. As I waited to order my cold brew, the conversations ran the gamut from school, work, summer travel plans, catching up. I know I sound like a broken record, but today it is so much more than just grabbing a cup of coffee. It is unwinding, savoring each sip and bite with a friend or partner and just enjoying the connection. Polly's Cafe reminds me of a cafe one would find in the Hudson Valley: small, quaint and offering high end food. The interior is cozy, a few tables and a backyard garden. The menu packs a small punch: hot/cold beverages, breakfast burritos, BLT, salads and so much more. I waited around 10 minutes to order a cold brew, the pastries (croissants: chocolate, everything, goat cheese and herb, ham and cheese, butter, sticky toffee banana bread, chocolate babka crumb cake, brownies)were sold out and only olive oil cake remained. ( I arrived @2pm) I made a mental note to revisit to pack a few goodies to go for a future BBG visit. The Espresso Shot 1 was unexpectedly sour like the kind of sour you expect from expired coffee. There are special notes including rhubarb, so maybe that was on us to order this shot, but we didn't expect a beef jerky-like aftertaste. My friend could not finish it, so I asked for a replacement shot--the Expresso Shot 2--and the staff were kind enough to offer it to us free of charge. This shot was also just as sour, with notes of passion fruit. There are no other espresso shot options, and both shots are $5-6 each. The Chai Latte tasted just like the concentrates I would get from supermarkets. When I finished my cup and peered at the bottom for any spice residue, I found the grainy texture you'd find in said supermarket concentrates. Service: 4/5 The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. For a busy coffee shop, they were prompt in fulfilling any special request, such as an expresso shot replacement. Atmosphere: 2/5 This is a cute coffee shop with a warm interior! It has a modern and cozy aesthetic, and it was very pleasant to sit here for half an hour. We were fortunate to even have seating, though, because there was a line out the door and not enough tables for all patrons. The tables were low to the ground and close to other tables. I would recommend this place to people who need a quick shelter from the cold. I wouldn't recommend the drinks to anyone, and the line is not worth it.
