    Iced Matcha Latte

This place is incredible!! Actually came across it in JFK airport, and made the trip to the main store from Manhattan. Absolutely worth the 50 min train ride and would come back again.

We decided to have tea while we wait for our lunch reservation. The experience exceeded our expectations, as we were fully immersed in the community and received excellent suggestions about local historical sites. We had a few tea blends, the suggestions were on point, as well as the customer service

This past Sunday I checked out Brooklyn Tea on my way home from church with my sister. Their tea options are extensive! It took me awhile to decide on the tea I wanted. The two young ladies that worked there were extremely patient and informative. Customer service was top tier. I ordered the Vanilla Rooibose which was delicious and my sister got the Cream Earl gray latte and she loved it. We ordered blueberry waffles and chocolate chip waffles. Both vegan and both delicious. We also bought some loose tea to go. They sell the tea by the ounce here. The place is small but they have both indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell shop swag and a lot of their dishes are named after Brooklyn hip hop songs. This place is definitely worth a trip to Brooklyn. Can't wait to go back on my next visit to Brooklyn.

I had Brooklyn Tea on my to-do list ever since I came across them on Instagram, and I'm so glad I finally made the trip. What I expected to be a quick visit turned into a much longer stay -- that's how warm, welcoming, and special this place is. The space itself is cozy, but it feels so much bigger than just a tea shop. It's a place full of community, education, inspiration, and history. Everyone who walked in felt like they belonged, no matter where they came from -- the vibe is truly that inviting. The service stood out right away. Authentic, kind, and genuinely helpful. I had the chance to do some tea tastings, and the staff took their time sharing knowledge and making thoughtful recommendations. I left not only with a few teas and a bowl, but also with a deeper appreciation for the world of tea. My standards are officially raised! Also, learning that this is a first-gen, Black-owned business -- and that they're now opening in the airport in NYC -- just made me even more excited to support them. It's the kind of place that deserves all the love and attention it gets. I ordered matcha with agave and then later ordered a floral tea that I cannot recall. Brooklyn Tea, I'll absolutely be back soon -- and if you're even thinking about going, let this be your sign. Go.

Amazing Service! Amazing Vibes! Amazing Tea! I spent 2hrs here and it truly was worth every minute. The owners were friendly and very knowledgeable about tea and were willing to answer any and all questions. I meet some really cool people and it felt so nostalgic being in a tea shop again. The tea was so delicious, I had 2 cups while there- Apple Cider and Cucumber Melon- both 10/10. I also got to taste Chocolate Mint latte, which tasted like a cookie. Traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn Tea was definitely worth the two train transfers and 10 min walk while the temp was dropping. The tea's were hugs in a cup and greatly appreciated. I brought plenty to hold me until I travel back to visit.

Such a cute little tea shop in the neighborhood. The staff are immediately very welcoming. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by all of the great tea options. The employees are pretty knowledgeable about what's what and offer great suggestions. They sell packaged loose leaf tea, branded swag, and gear. They also have baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and vegan options. Unfortunately, gluten free was not an option. I love the vibe here. They have a few seating areas inside and outside. Great customer service. Don't sleep on this awesome little tea spot!

A smooth warm latte that was recommended. Coconut oolong latte. So warm and sweet. I'm definitely going to go back for this again.

Great place to have tea and to zen out. I usually get my tea to go but I had time. I got a nice latte. I like that was greeted warmly when I came in. I told the tea gentleman what I was looking for and he didn't disappoint. The space is quaint and cozy. Almost like being in one's living room. I also loved the fact that the music was audible but not overwhelming and very soothing. I will definitely be back when I am in BK to get my tea fix and BIGGIE cookies.

I signed up for the…read moreclass before I got to NY and was able to work it into my busy schedule of being a cool aunt. My brother and I walked around the Greenpoint area and then he had to go pick up his kiddo from camp, so I explored the area then put Kettl into google maps thinking I was coming early for class to avoid the rain. I accidentally went to the wrong location and then it started pouring. The staff told me the other location was 10 minutes away by foot, so I hauled myself to it in pouring rain. Luckily I wore workout clothes and tennis shoes that day, but my raincoat was water resistant, not waterproof, so I got pretty soaked. I still arrived a few minutes early, and the staff let me take some napkins to dry myself off. The class was at the bar in the back of this flagship location. It was set up for two, but I was the only person who showed. Jayanna led me through a very detailed class, provided handouts and a soba tea cookie along with water, and answered a ton of questions I had. As a daily matcha maker, I knew I had a lot to learn. She showed me how to care for the different tools used to make matcha. We made three preparations: sparkling matcha, shaken matcha, and matcha latte. We went through each with various steps and measurements. She demonstrated what to do and then I would make the drinks for both of us. It was a very fun experience and I learned a lot. I also got to shop after the class with a 15% discount, so I got myself a custom single cultivar matcha called okuju made exclusively for Kettl and especially for lattes, and then some individually wrapped fancy tea bags of matcha genmai and hojicha for Eric when he travels. The class had an hour and a half of instruction and I spent a half hour asking about products and shopping. It is a very nice space and I would love to try some of the unique drinks on the menu plus take more classes. If you love matcha and learning, I recommend taking a class here or at the LA location if you are on the west coast!

It also wasn't creamy enough for a latte. The shiso white peach matcha soda was a fun experimental drink, but I feel like for a matcha drink, the matcha flavor was definitely dominated by the shiso and white peach flavors. It was really refreshing though for a hot summer day. Super adorable store! I want to try the matcha tasting one day!

Both were incredible and I felt immensely better afterwards. I later returned on several occasions and tried their Moon Milk, which is a delicious mixture of turmeric, cardamom, coconut and ashwahganda, the Key to the Garden drink (coconut, nutmeg, cacao, cinnamon and maple), their vanilla chocolate chip cookies and regular chocolate chip cookies. You can get these drinks hot or iced. I had all of them iced! I also had one of the best iced matcha lattes ever from here with sweet coconut milk. WOW. From what I've seen, baked goods change daily and their drink menus change semi often as well, which is exciting!! Outside, there is some seating, lovely items and books for purchase and a window to order, as well as the menu items displayed on boards and items around the space. Inside is quite similar, but with more items for sale and more seating. The vibes are immaculate and this seems to be a space that's community centered and has an emphasis on carrying items made by local artists. Remember to bring cash to tip. I cannot wait until my next visit here!!

You realize it's cluttered with a bunch of knickknacks and other games and accessories that. Some of the items inside look like they're either for sale or just meant for display, which is fine, but I feel like it distracts from the main purpose, which is serving food and being a comfortable resting spot. It's no fault of the place, but the vibe is a mix of reggae, African folk music, and incense, and it contrasts sharply with the environment outside. There's an Italian restaurant across the street blasting Frank Sinatra type music, so the clash is noticeable. I feel like maybe the sound could be adjusted or balanced somehow. As part of the promotion, I ordered the vegan lentil soup. It was okay, nothing special but not bad. Then I was served an iced chai latte, and most of the spices sank to the bottom under the ice. After I swirled it, the spices still didn't have much flavor. It wasn't strong or pungent, and you couldn't really taste the spices or feel any of the digestive benefits chai is usually known for. It didn't taste like tea; it was just mildly sweet. I could see myself drinking it with a dessert, but it didn't stand out on its own. The service was friendly. I hope this place the best and want it to succeed but it needs to literally clean up.
