One thing to add, if you're staying at one of the nearby hotels (Hilton, Even, Holiday Inn, Nu, Marriott, Sheraton, Hampton Inn, Tillary) and just visiting, single passes are available on Sal's website. While I'm a regular at Sal's small group classes, if I was traveling and looking to keep up my workouts, I'd be psyched to find a place like this. BTF is a large studio located in the heart of Boerum Hill. I remember I went there for a kickboxing class for ILKB a while ago, but it wasn't for me (not due to any problems with the class itself, but I'm loyal to CKO). After months, I returned for a core class and it was a complete different energy with this instructor, Sal. The morning core class with Sal is a killer! Albeit I have zero core strength and struggled through the whole 30 minutes, Sal was very motivating and did not make me feel embarrassed for not being at my best. I cannot say enough good things about BTF. Seriously. Sal and Will are both amazing and every class is unbelievable. I have worked out at every gym and attended almost every class that class pass has to offer, and I have never in my life experienced a workout as great as the ones at BTF. Every class is different and while its a class, both Sal and Will focus on each member individually. I have had 6 personal trainers over the last 12 years and none come close to comparison. SAL IS AMAZING!!!!! I have had many back and knee issues my whole life and for the first time, I am working with a trainer who helps me understand the root of the pain and works to fix it. I have not gone without back pain (especially when working out) in over 4 years. After 3 months of personal sessions with Sal, I don't even remember I have a bad back. I am lazy. I am physically unmotivated. However, training sessions with Sal (one on one sessions) are the legit highlights of my week. I cannot express how training with Sal has changed my life. My initial goals that I set with Sal were to gain weight in a healthy way, increase my appetite and tone up. I am definitely making progress towards those goals (up a healthy 5-6 lbs, eating more, and have baby guns to prove it). What I did not expect was the mental transformation I would achieve through training with Sal. Increased confidence. Improved self-esteem. Mental clarity. Sal is an excellent trainer and really dedicated to helping you achieve your goals safely. He is flexible with his time and responds quickly to emails and questions you may have. During training, he explains what is happening to your body and why you are suddenly feeling soreness in parts you have never felt before. Sal runs BTE and is incredible. No class is the same and you can tell he puts a lot of thought into each and every one of them. It's in an easy location and VERY affordable considering the quality of training you get. To be honest I was surprised at how affordable his month to month plan is considering all it offers. Sal is an incredible trainer! He is a true expert at what he does and that is apparent. I have had trainers and fitness coaches in the past and Sal is by far the most motivating, thoughtful, and personalized to fit your needs/wants in the gym. I can't express how amazing BTF is. I found them through ClassPass and haven't looked back, it is the BEST studio in NYC!! The workouts are so so good and will leave you so so sore. Not one class is set up the same, they change so your body won't get use to the routine. Sal is the MAN!! You can tell he knows and really cares about what he is doing, each workout is thoughtfully created in a way that will be painful, motivating, tough and incredibly satisfying. I can truly say I look forward to every class I go to and after it's done I can't wait for the next one! Wills strength and resistance classes are just the thing to take after the high intensity classes Sal teaches. Will couldn't be nicer and more encouraging. The classes are all about toning and stretching the body out. Will focuses on proper form and technique which is so helpful. I have taken over 300 classes on ClassPass and BTF is the only studio I have purchased and became a 'regular' with. The prices couldn't be better for what you get, I almost feel like we are robbing them because what we get out of the classes and what Sal and Will offer are worth so much more! I give Sal's personal training session my highest recommendation. I've been an athlete my entire life and I am very particular about the people I train with. I know the difference between a good trainer and a great trainer and Sal is GREAT! Whether you are a beginner or super athletic, Sal modifies the workout to your capabilities. He cares about your goals and takes the work out sessions seriously. He is always watching my form to make sure I am doing everything correctly and making sure I get the most out of every second of my work out. Had my first Abs/Core Quick Fix class with Will and it was pleasantly phenomenal. This instructor made me feel so motivated and relaxed at the same time. The class was slow paced but challenging and I appreciated the way in which he pushed me--definitely booking again through ClassPass...FYI no shoes, just socks or bare feet. read more

I would give BTF and Sal ten stars if I could. I moved to the neighborhood two months ago and after finding BTF on ClassPass I signed up for a monthly membership (very reasonable at $130/mo). Sal is extremely motivating and pushes you to the limit making you feel accomplished every day when you leave. My goal was to get a stronger core and to become quicker on the tennis court. In two months I have already shed 10 pounds and my lateral movement on the court has improved significantly thanks to Sal's exercises. I've never been someone who enjoys working out. Sal's class is unlike any other I've ever taken. I'm going to be honest - it is HARD! But it is the best workout you could imagine in under an hour. Sal is incredible at motivating his clients and adjusting his exercises to be an appropriate challenge for whatever level of "fit" you are. Workouts are fast-paced, tough, and comprehensive. Sal has tons of experience and really knows what he's doing. Sal is one of the best trainers I've ever had! I've worked with numerous boxing trainers over the last four years, but with Sal, I have learned so much and honed both technique and strength within only a couple months. Even from training with him once a week, I've noticed a difference in how toned I am and my endurance. He is also just the best human being, and genuinely cares about your goals / general well-being; he knows when to push you to your limits, but also when to pull back and focus on breathing or stretching. One morning, I forgot my boxing gloves and asked if we could do a regular workout routine instead - within literally three minutes, Sal had set up different stations and gave me a brutal (in the best way possible) workout, which just goes to show how amazing he really is. So let's just start by saying Sal's the man. I've had several trainers in the past but I feel like Sal LISTENS to your goals and even though his methods seem intense (workout routines) I've come to be a believer in his programs. I go to his bootcamps as well as personal sessions and even though numbers done mean much I've dropped from 136.9 to 131.2 (that's after 2 months training with Sal ). Sal makes working out FUN. No two days are the same and when you start to see and feel results it becomes a habit. He is a super talented trainer and coach and his classes push you to be your best, leaving you feeling so accomplished at the end of each one. That was five months ago and I'm still going weekly, if not a few times a week, because: 1) it's always challenging, 2) Sal never lets me off the hook, and 3) the price is right!
