Whenever it's my first time in an establishment I always make it a point to notify them of that and ask for recommendations. The lady at the counter was super helpful as she recommended the Asiago as one their most popular items and she was on point. I purchased a variety of bagels for later. I really like the open baking area that you see as soon as you enter the restaurant. Everyone was smiling as they worked and that comes through to the product. New owners? First of all, I drive 20 miles to get these bagels because they are REAL NY bagels... or they used to be.. Now, I'm beginning to wonder. I've been reading recent reviews and it seems some major cuts in quality have been instituted. Now, some bagels look overcooked, I was shorted on my order, the whole waitstaff is different, and one bagel looks like it was pulled from the oven before it was cooked (the whole bottom is shredded, like it stuck to the pan). Ive been a loyal customer for literally years and watched the store go through at least three changes in ownership. If this is a new owner, I'm offering a bit of advice - - you bought a franchise and if you're not following franchise best practices in order to save money, YOU LOSE! The franchise will not support you for changing things AND you'll lose business because it's not the way it used to be when it was good. Yes, franchises are expensive but you make money if you're following the way to do things right. Try to cut corners and loyalty will go right out the window! I've recommended your store to all my NY & NJ transplants but if you cannot make good bagels, they're going to stop coming. Just left this fine establishment so fustrated. I ordered a buttered bagel which cost me 1.99 for the bagel and 1.20 for the butter. When I took a bite I had a dry bagel. I opened the sandwich to find a small amount of stale scraped butter on it. .gross right? I returned to the counter with my bagel and just asked for a little more butter...the manager was the one who had buttered my sorry bagel. I'm quickly running out of patience. I've been a regular customer since the day they opened. The bagels used to be the best around, but now they have a serious quality control problem. For weeks the bagels have been malformed, undercooked, doughy messes. Bagels are not supposed to be the color of white bread! They should have a golden brown crust. They should not feel heavy and dense. The bottom should be slightly crispy and also have a golden brown color. The bagels I have been getting are heavy, dense, pale white doughy disappointments. But yesterday they made up for it by also giving me two apple cinnamon muffins that were overdone and stale. Come on folks. You should be able to make a decent plain bagel at the very minimum if this is your business. This place is living on their past reputation and it's going to catch up to them. read more

I am a fan of the Brooklyn Water Bagel and wish that we had one close to Winter Garden. We have a couple of bagel places out here but they don't appear to be as consistent as this chain. I was in the area so I stopped by to pick up a dozen mixed bagels and two tubs of cream cheese. The staff was wonderful and patient while I contemplated my choices.
