Recently our boy Finn dislocated his hip and needed surgery to fix it. We called every VCA around and everyone was booked, it was also a Saturday so that was understandable. Aurora was the last VCA on our list because it's an hour and a half southeast of our home. So we called to see if we could get him in, we were told yes but it was a 2-3 hour wait because they were packed as well. We waited because our Finn is worth the wait. Finn got in to see a doctor, they ran all of their tests/X-rays and kept us informed every step of the way. We eventually got into a room and were given the results along with all the options and costs, they were very professional and informative. We decided to wait until Monday to make an appointment for surgery, otherwise we would have had to pay the "weekend fees/rates. We called Monday to schedule an appointment for surgery. Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday. Tuesday morning we dropped off Finn and his food; we were told they would call us before and after surgery and again before bedtime, and they did. We arrived Wednesday afternoon to pick Finn up and we were given all of his paperwork and meds, then we instructed on what to look out for during the healing process and how to use his meds and to call if we needed anything and to schedule an appointment with our VCA for a follow up. From beginning to end Aurora Animal Hospital crushed it!, Knocked it out of the park!, and exceeded our expectations!!!! Great Job Aurora VCA Staff and Thank You!! Finn is doing great and on his way to being our energetic, happy boy again!! We Love VCA!!!!!!!!

The receptionists, vet techs, doctors--all wonderful--professional, warm, welcoming--and all took the time to carefully explain every part of the process, from the first appointment, diagnosis, surgery, recovery, financing, etc. Dr. Peacock is everything you'd want your vet (or your own doctor) to be. He is a highly experienced surgeon--and doctors at that level often lack the "bedside manner" so crucial to clear communication and a healthy doctor/patient/patient's family relationship. Dr. Peacock dispelled all those concerns the moment he walked in the room. He is warm and down to earth. He was so helpful--examining our dog, explaining the issue and appropriate procedure--and answering all of our questions (some of which we likely asked more than once) with patience, kindness, and candor. I can't express enough how positive the entire experience was. Every single person made us feel comfortable, confident in our dog's care, and welcome. And our dog is good as new (so to speak!) Thank you, everyone at Aurora!

Dr. Weidner was our savior! He is so conscientious and caring. Over the years this condition had become very hard to treat, and our cat, being semi-feral, was hard to give medication to. Dr. Weidner tried to give us as many options as possible, but was honest in his opinion of what might work or might not work. The prices are reasonable and there was NEVER any pressure to do high-priced invasive tests or procedures. In the end, he helped give our cat the best life she could have, right up to the very end. Her breathing became very difficult, and she had a stroke. We called and they made room for us that day, which I'm sure wasn't easy. Dr. Weidner also made a point to be the one who helped us on this last day since he had been the one we saw all along. All the staff is knowledgable, and gentle. The office and rooms are always very clean and safe. I Highly recommend this vet!

When we made the difficult decision that it was time for our sweet girl Allie to travel over the rainbow bridge, he helped us greatly during the process. The office facility is nice and clean. I've had my cat for about 16 years and yesterday she passed away after 18+ years of a charmed life. For the last five years she's been seeing Dr. Brooks and if there was a way to give him and the facility 10 stars out of five I would emphatically do that. I've treated my cat as if she were my own daughter and consequently researched and second-guessed every medical provider I've taken her to. What I've come to respect about Dr. Brooks and his staff are that they know themselves and know their capabilities and have no qualms about recommending more specialized level of services. Everyone at the clinic always treated my gal as well, or better than what I could ask or hope for. This last week her age really caught up to her so yesterday we decided to make the hardest decision for her. Hours and hours before the appointment Emily called to go over what would happen at the appointment and we discussed our options after the procedure was done. I'm not a religious person but I think , the powers that be gave us Emily to help us through such a horrible day. At the appointment, Dr. Brooks calmly and thoroughly explained what would happen, what we might see or experience and ensured we were fully prepared. He left us with zero questions, but more importantly, zero worries. These people and this facility emphatically care for, and love our family members the same way that we do.

My current dog, who is 11 years old, has had many serious health issues. I took him for an emergency room visit on the 4th of July and was told to follow up with my primary vet on Monday. The current receptionist is rude and has no empathy for my dog, who is in a lot of pain. I can not get an appointment for 10 days from now because one of the doctors is on vacation. She would not even add me to a wait list in case someone cancels. Thank goodness I found a new vet who will see him tomorrow. I have always highly recommended them to neighbors and friends. Very sad to have to switch vets this late in my dog's life because of the lack of compassion and caring from them.

They are always very nice and patient with our cattle dog. I love that they take their time when starting treatment to pet and play with the dogs, so that the animals feel more at ease and less stressed. To add, the environment is very clean and sanitary (I.e smells good, no fur all over the floor). Lastly, I think the candle in the front (lit when someone is saying bye to their pet) is a special touch. I would highly recommend this vet. We tried another vet closer to us, but they just did not compare to this establishment!!

Our first wellness visit was supposed to be covered by Petland. We purchased our puppy on a Saturday, and with Monday being a holiday, we called Millbrook on Wednesday to schedule an appointment. My wife spent nearly 30 minutes on the phone answering numerous questions, many of which were later repeated in an online form that had to be completed before the appointment. Our appointment was scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, and we were asked to arrive 15 minutes early. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring a stool sample and had to return home to retrieve it, causing a slight delay. We arrived at exactly 1:00 PM(the time of our appointment) but were informed that we would need to reschedule. Since we live approximately 20-25 minutes away in South Elgin , both my wife and I were extremely disappointed by the lack of flexibility, especially given that we were only a few minutes behind the requested early arrival time. Although we were able to reschedule for later that same day, the experience left a negative impression. Later, while getting gas at Costco, we stopped by River West Animal Hospital in St Charles to inquire about establishing care there in the future. The difference in experience was immediately noticeable. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff was friendly, understanding, and accommodating. Despite arriving close to closing time, our puppy was seen within approximately 20 minutes. The veterinarian (Jason Long) examined our Cavapoo, answered our questions, and had an excellent bedside manner. While the visit at River West was not free, the cost was very reasonable--just bit over $100, which included an examination and stool sample testing. Based on our experience, we plan to return there for the remainder of our puppy's vaccinations and ongoing care. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Millbrook Animal Care and were much more impressed with the level of service and customer care we received at River West Animal Hospital. We later cancelled our appointment at Milbrook. After reading a few of the reviews, there are some reoccurring themes at this animal clinic.
