Excuse the tears I keep dropping on my phone as I type this...in short, I highly highly, I undoubtedly support and recommend Fox Valley Vet Clinic. I've had my cat for about 16 years and yesterday she passed away after 18+ years of a charmed life. For the last five years she's been seeing Dr. Brooks and if there was a way to give him and the facility 10 stars out of five I would emphatically do that. I've treated my cat as if she were my own daughter and consequently researched and second-guessed every medical provider I've taken her to. What I've come to respect about Dr. Brooks and his staff are that they know themselves and know their capabilities and have no qualms about recommending more specialized level of services. Everyone at the clinic always treated my gal as well, or better than what I could ask or hope for. This last week her age really caught up to her so yesterday we decided to make the hardest decision for her. Hours and hours before the appointment Emily called to go over what would happen at the appointment and we discussed our options after the procedure was done. I'm not a religious person but I think , the powers that be gave us Emily to help us through such a horrible day. At the appointment, Dr. Brooks calmly and thoroughly explained what would happen, what we might see or experience and ensured we were fully prepared. He left us with zero questions, but more importantly, zero worries. These people and this facility emphatically care for, and love our family members the same way that we do. read more

I have been bringing all my dogs to Fox Valley Vet Clinic for over 15 years. I have always loved the techs, the receptionist, and the doctors. My current dog, who is 11 years old, has had many serious health issues. I took him for an emergency room visit on the 4th of July and was told to follow up with my primary vet on Monday. The current receptionist is rude and has no empathy for my dog, who is in a lot of pain. I can not get an appointment for 10 days from now because one of the doctors is on vacation. She would not even add me to a wait list in case someone cancels. Thank goodness I found a new vet who will see him tomorrow. I have always highly recommended them to neighbors and friends. Very sad to have to switch vets this late in my dog's life because of the lack of compassion and caring from them. read more

Ever since we moved to Aurora, Fox Valley Vet Clinic has been my go to for my 2 cats. During every visit, whether it's an annual or emergency, the staff and doctors always go above and beyond to care for my pets. Dr. Brooks in particular has been great at treating my youngest cat's respiratory infection and helping me make better nutrition choices for a long-hair cats. I am always pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to schedule an appt or getting the follow-up phone calls to see how my cats are doing. We would like to express our endless gratitude to the entire staff at Fox Valley Veterinary Clinic. We found a lost dog with no tags or collar. She had almost been hit by two cars and was very scared. We brought her to FVVC to be checked out. Turns out the dog was chipped and the owner didn't want her. After following the necessary protocols, FVVC released the dog to our care -- as we had a likely forever home lined up. While at FVVC, this dog received the best of care and attention. As major dog lovers, we appreciated that FVVC took such good care of her. We hope she will end up in a forever home with lots of hugs, treats, toys and the love she probably never had. read more

I worked most of my adult life as a health care provider so I can be quite critical of those giving myself or my family care. My repeat experiences for routine care as well as a surgery have been excellent. The vets explain their findings and give me options for care. They are kind and considerate. I love the way they care for my dogs. Everyone from the front desk, vets, and the vet techs are caring and attentive to any issue I have had regarding by dogs. I have seen them in emergency situations and they make every effort to get to our pet in immediately. The care they give is thorough and their advice on pet health is very informative. I have never felt rushed during my vet appointments. They also take the time to follow up to see how your pet is doing if you've had an issue. I can't say enough about the entire team. read more

I brought my Pekingese here. The staff was super nice, caring and friendly, they were so good that my (nippy) dog was so comfortable being picked up by them. The vet was very knowledgeable and treated my dog as if it was their own. I highly recommend this establishment for your pet health needs. read more

I normally don't write reviews but felt that my experience with FVVC warranted one to prevent any other pet owner who considers their pet to be a part of their family! While staying with my parents, my dog was hit by a car and did not survive. My husband and I are from out of town and were staying in the Fox Valley area. Our dog was in great shape and we had not had a plan for his death. Especially while traveling. We turned to FVVC as a place to take him to be cremated. It's where my parents took their dogs when I was a kid. Later my mother revealed that she was not a big fan of Dr. Brooks. The initial intake process was great. The tech that worked with us was very soft and kind and gave us time to say our good byes. She did an incredible job of explaining the process to two grieving pet owners making us feel as though our dog was in safe hands. We were given a pamphlet from Pets at Peace Crematory and given the option of a private cremation or partitioned. We choose private. It was explained that he would be picked up on that upcoming Wednesday, (mind you our died on a Saturday) and would be returned the following Wednesday, 12 days after his death! Nearly two weeks to have my sweet boy returned to me seemed ludicrous! Not knowing there were other options my husband and I went home. That next Monday I pulled out the paperwork and discovered that it had been filled out incorrectly by the tech and that he was scheduled for a partitioned cremation. I immediately called FVVC and requested that this be changed. They agreed and were going to charge my credit card for an additional $150 for the service on top of the 250+ being charged for the partitioned cremation and were to pick him up the next day. While working with the facilities manager to arrange this I asked when his remains would be returned. She was very short with me and could not definitively answer when his remains would be returned!!! How is that even acceptable?! I would think that both of this companies are running legitimate businesses. They're clearly not. Returning his remains whenever they got around it is not acceptable! Red flags were popping up left and right! I had to get him out of there. My sweet boy was not being treated with the love and respect that a member of our family deserved. It was as if these people just saw his death as a way to make a profit. I was able to call the Hinsdale Pet Cemetery who picked him up first thing in the morning. When my husband and I arrived at the HPC we were given time to say our final good byes again. The entire staff at HPC was so respectful. We witnessed the intake of another dog, who was wheeled in on a stretcher from it's owners car. It was so great to feel like we had finally gotten our boy to a safe place where his soul was considered. We were invited to be present for his cremation. It was such a relief to know that we would be leaving with OUR pet's ashes. After the cremation began we were able to take our sweet boy's remains home with us within an hour and half. Providing the closure that we so desperately needed after our experience with FVVC. We were only charged $255, which included the $75 pick up fee from North Aurora to Willowbrook. A sharp contrast to the over $400 that a sketchy cremation was going to cost at Pets at Peace! HPC is truly operating a respectful, ethical business and we will forever be grateful that they cared for our sweet boy with the love and respect that he deserved! I hope that this review serves as a warning about the type of operation that FVVC is running and prevents others from a similar traumatic experience. read more

I've never written a review before, but I was so put off by Dr. Brooks I thought I should save someone from having a similar experience. He was extremely condescending among other things and we won't be going back. I should have left when my dog (a 5 month old puppy) growled a bit at him when he first came in and he just stood there pretty much taunting her. The antibiotic he prescribed my dog has proven to cause ligament issues in large breeds, which is what the vet at oswego animal hospital told us when we brought our second dog there instead of going back to fox valley. read more

My dad adopted a rescued Cairn Terrier. Delightful dog, but she is terrified of vets. So, when the two of them moved to the area, we asked friends what veterinary clinic to go to ~ and they recommended Fox Valley Veterinary Clinic. We were thrilled with the staff and with Dr Whitney, taking multiple steps to help put this anxious and otherwise loveable dog at ease. When they noticed that she was getting tense and defensive around bigger dogs, they moved her into an exam room immediately to reduce her anxiety. When Dr Whitney came in, instead of going straight to the dog, he sat down next to my dad and let the dog come to him as they chatted. Once it was time for the exam, they asked my dad to stay right with her to calm her (whereas, a previous vet in Indiana had muzzled and separated her from Dad, her one secure companion). She growled just a little when the assistant (wearing a white coat) came in. Something in her past made her frightened of white coats that vets often wear. Anyway, an exceptionally positive experience for both our dog and our family. This compassionate team understands and truly cares about your animal companion! read more

We have been taking our pets to Fox Valley ever since we moved to Batavia, 18 years now. Dr. Tab, Dr. Brooks and since retired Dr. Whitney have always been there to help us through the good and difficult moments of a pets life. Very respectful, happy to see you and always good treatment of our pets. I highly recommend anyone to try them out. One of the vets may suit your needs more than another, but I am sure you will find what you desire in one, if not all of the staff. read more

We always take my furry friend Gabby here if she gets sick or needs attention. Dr. Whitney is a very thorough andeasy to understand Vet thats been at his craft for a long time. His staff is always very friendly and attentive. My little buddy Gabby really has been healthy her whole life of near 11 years so we usually justmostly had routine shots and such til recently. The last few months shes been getting infections and Dr.Whitnet makes it so easy to understand whats going on. The staff always make a few follow up calls to check on our pup. I highly recommend FVVC if your in the area and your pet needs attention healthwise! read more

We have brought the many dogs and cats we have had over the decades to the doctors here. They have been fine with my cats, but not with my Rottweilers. So I split my pets between two different clinics. I am thrilled with the addition of Dr. Gillham. My little adopted kitty is week in the rear end, has a slight limp, and sits lopsided. Dr. Brooks Jr said "some cats just have poor posture". Dr. Gillham ordered xrays and found arthritis in her left knee and hip dysplasia. Now we have a course of action for pain relief instead of a shoulder shrug. Try Dr. Gillham. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. And solely because of Dr. Brooks Sr. My family and I have gone here before for our pet needs many times and received wonderful and caring service from the receptionists and Dr. Brooks Jr. However, Dr. Brooks Sr. is another story. My mother and sister brought my 12 year old lab in to be put down recently and their experience was traumatizing. First off, my mom told him we had brought our dog to a first time free clinic to examine him, which furthered our decision in realizing it was time to put him down. To which Dr. Brooks then said, "So I have to do the dirty work." Horribly rude. Then when they began the process, Dr. Brooks would not sedate our dog. Because of this, my mom and sister were required to HOLD HIM DOWN in order to put the needle in to give him the fatal shot. Dr. Brooks's attitude about the whole situation was horrible. He was not even the least bit sympathetic or caring towards my family, their grieving, or our dog in his final moments. This experience with Dr. Brooks Sr was absolutely horrifying and infuriating. Think twice about where you take your furry family members because they, and their families, deserve better than what we experienced. read more

my 7 month old dog was hit by a car. my neighbors brought my dog to their vet because i was at work during the incident. The day after i brought her to my vet (fox valley vet). original vet (my neighbors) stated she would need daily bandage changing, for about a week. My vet stated the same thing. first issue: original vet charged 45 dollars, roughly, to change bandage. fox valley charged 177. you decide! second issue: original vet told me what to expect over the next couple of weeks and she explained what should happen daily over that time period. She prescribed some meds for pain. My vet on day two said i needed additional pain meds. apparently because first vet didn't know what she was doing! When i questioned the extra meds the receptionist, brittany, got upset and told the two doctors i was being "unreasonable". i am not writing her exact words because i didn't hear exactly what she went and told the doctors. what i do know is that i was pulled into a room and treated like a child by a Dr. Tab (big guy). He loomed over me and shook his finger in my face and said i needed to understand my dogs pain. From the beginning i had stated i could not stay because i needed to be at work, something they couldn't understand. I must have said it like 10 times, i need to go to work and you call me when you are finished. i even had someone with me who was going to stay for me and bring my dog home. Well they kept me there the whole time, extra in fact. They did not see that my biggest issue was the need to be at work but harped on the fact that i mentioned the pain meds as being unnecessary. The previous vet said my dog had all the pain meds she needed and when they ran out she wouldn't need them anymore. Fox Valley stated she needed additional pain meds because during the bandage changing she tried to bite them and was in pain. When we arrived she wasn't in pain! So how would the added expense change that pain factor after we got home and her bandages weren't being messed with? which is why i questioned them about that expense. 177 dollars to change some bandages? and being treated like i am insensitive? they tried to take advantage of the situation and when caught became hostile and unprofessional. never going there and i would recommend you stay away too. Also my dog is a pure German Sheppard, from day one they REALLY tried pushing me to have her fixed. i should have gotten a mutt for FREE instead of a pure bred. They PUSH things onto you and then try to make you feel bad about your choice. Must be hard up for money? i would suggest treating customers better then money won't be an issue! read more

Dr. Tab is a great Vet, very gentle and caring man! One of my dogs is going through some tough times with a heart murmur related issues. He has been helping me and my dog get through this tough time with his medical expertise, medicine and the respect he shows for my dogs is outstanding.
