You'll hear good and bad stuff about this store, so I'll tell you why I love it. They support local. The money you spend here, they will give to local communities and schools that help your children. They try to accommodate the customer as much as possible. Almost always, (ALMOST) they are super friendly and go out of their way for the fellow patron. They carry your groceries out and have a conversation with you, not taking tip money. You can get something quickly and get out quickly most of the tIme. They will special order something for you. This pharmacy is one of the best we've ever used. I wish we could have brought them with us when we moved. Sales are pretty good! Theeir CAKE decorator is super awesome and the prices can not be beat. Like for real! read more

Something sneaky going on here today, Friday, July 10th. I go up to the deli at this Brookshire to see what they have but naturally everything looks dried up it's about closing time at the deli almost 7:00 pm. I see these women at the deli standing around, but they stalled and not order when I walked up. I notice the guy working there is a young black guy, I look, but I didn't want anything, just as I was about to leave and he starts handing out extra large boxes of fried chicken from deli that were on top of the counter to these black woman who were standing there and come up to him without saying a word, like they had it planned. They just had a smile and a smirk in their faces. I think they got them free because there were no tags on any of the boxes and just put them in their carts. Not sure if they paid at the register, but if the guy is just giving them away, how often is this happening? Isn't the store suppose to repackage them in the containers with the plastic covers to resell the next day, or weigh all waste to get tax credit. To Brookshire ( Be careful who you hire)! I posted a review about food that was not bagged and therefore left behind by the employee. The initial call to the store was not taken seriously and resulted in zero results. After a couple post, I received a message from the locations director saying the item was indeed found to have been left out by the employee. They treat their employees like shit. They call them "partners," but force these "partners" to stand on their broken foot for 8 hours. Then the managers will make jokes about "relief" for the broken foot, and force the employee to stand on that foot for a shift. That's trashy; especially for a company that "cares" about customer experience. if you're going to treat your employees like shit, why should they trust you? You make employees do weird decisions; then try to act blameless; when they have issues being paid; hours scheduled, etc. And, apparently when a "partner" breaks a foot, you refuse both basic human decency and water. This store is unique in the options it offers. I have been shopping here since I moved into the area. Once I figured out it was better than Walmart, I have not looked back. I enjoy the people working there as well. I only wish the options were better in the meat department. Overall a gem. read more

This store is close, so I've been here a few times. I don't prefer it because it is more expensive than other grocers in the vacinity. Other yelpers mention that is because of quality and that just isn't so (in my opinion). What I like is the customer service. They will push your groceries out for you as a service. When I last went, the two self-check registers were down and they had 3 other full service lanes open. That is saying alot considering they only have 4 or 5 lanes. Other stores have way more lanes and way less service. I also like the beer selection at this store...its very vast and has more options than the liquor store in Anna. read more

I could not find another place on your website to leave a review for anything other than online orders/pickup orders. I wanted to let you know that the bakery at the Anna, Texas, Brookshires needs serious help! My daughter ordered a smash birthday cake for our one year old grandson's birthday party...party on July 9, 2022. My daughter submitted inspiration photo with the order and even gave an alternative inspiration photo in case the first cake proved to be above the bakeries abilities to provide. When my daughter went to pick up the cake on the morning of July 9th, it was absolutely the biggest mess I have ever seen. Looked nothing like the photo. The cake was horrible. I understand that different bakers have levels of expertise and if the bakery was not able to provide even the easier of the two options, then they should have told the customer. My daughter was able to go to the bakery in a different store in Anna and pick up a small ready made cake that the bakery kindly personalized somewhat for her. I am attaching photos of the inspiration cake, the cake she received and the alternate choice. A bakery should have never let this cake leave their store...it was that bad! read more

I recently moved to anna texas from arizona....I happened to Google grocery stores nearby and came across this place and im glad I did. They had everything I was looking for.I loved the vibe of the store, every single person I came across that worked there spoke to me...with a hello. How are you, can I help you find anything. The cashier was very friendly and the person bagging my groceries offered to help me out to my car (that doesn't happen often if at all anymore these days) ...I work in retail and customer service is a huge part of why I shop at the stores I do and they have exceptional customer service. Not a great place for a high school kid to Brookshire's in Sweetwater Texas. If you need off for any reason they make you suffer for it, they short your hours or just don't give you any hours the next week or so. They are constantly hiring but tell you they are cutting hours because the managers aren't getting their hours OR they tell you they are now cutting hours because of the updates to the store. WOW, the kids suffer because the people who make the schedule, don't know what their doing. They tell you when you want off to put it on the calendar/schedule online so they do and get shorted hours for it. So NOT cool. Most of the high school kids working there ALL have the same complaints. Please do something!!! read more

Everytime I've been here, I find what I need when I need it at what appears to be a reasonable price. Haven't tried the Deli yet. I'll have to check that out on my next visit. Parking is easy with lots of it in front. read more

I love this Brookshire's! Every single time I have been in (which is often), the staff (especially night manager!) has been soooo helpful. They are a tiny bit more expensive than others but well worth it for sure! I love the self check lane except you can't take any bags off the scale until you're done...kind of annoying to have the cashier have to push the button every time. I only had a problem with scanning a couple of coupons @ the self-check lane but it was quickly taken care of. Make this your neighborhood market without a second thought...you won't regret it. **UPDATE: (01/2013) I still love this store! **UPDATE: (04/2014) Yep, still my favorite. Once you drive past McKinney on 75, the next closest grocery store you will find is the Brookshires in Anna. The Pro's: Small, easy to get in and out, lots of customer service. I think I only had to take my groceries to my own car once out of a dozen or more time. Great meat! They must get it from someplace close (like the pasture next door?). Great sales on cokes. Also-new- they have amazing take and bake baguettes in the bakery section. Super yummy! Cons: Expensive, expensive, and did I say, expensive? Your food bill will soar. So it is really a toss up. At Wal-mart in McKinney you pay much less, but you could scream in the middle of a store aisle and an associate would never ever appear. Or you can pay more at Brookshire's and have real human interaction and help. It depends on the day and my mood..... read more

Brookshires: They have a lot of selections for a small town grocery store. The staff is wonderful. The cashiers are always helpful, unlike at Walmart. The bad thing is that they're expensive! Which is normal if you're the only grocery store in town. Unfortunately, there is a word for it: inflation. I went in to buy 10 ingredients to make homemade key lime pie (the limes, the graham crackers to make the crust, butter, eggs, oil, ect.). The total bill was a little over $30! At Walmart it would be around $20. The good thing is that the store and restrooms are always clean. The produce looks fresh. The meat, dairy and frozen food aisles are well stocked. I do like this store and recommend it. The Wok: Inside the store there is a Chinese Restaurant called, The Wok. The don't have many vegetarian selections. In fact, all they have is chow mein and fried rice, which are pretty good with the sweet and sour sauce. Don't get the fried crisps that are supposed to go into the egg drop soup. The ones I got were stale and tasted like dish washing soap. read more

Some folks complain that the prices are higher than the competition. Maybe a little higher than Walmart, but the quality of the food is much better. The vegetables I buy last longer than the veggies bought at Walmart. Also, I like the fact that the employees are helpful, and recognize you when you shop. Even better, Brookshires doesn't make me self check-out and offers to carry-out my groceries every time. If you shop the sales and use the savings to buy discounted gas the pricing works out anyway. Usually I save 15-20% with the member card. Clean, friendly, quality groceries and I don't have to drive to McKinney. BTW- the key to using the pharmacy is to call them about 15 minutes after the doctor sends the prescription. They will have it ready for you. read more

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this pharmacy. It is, with regularity, that I sit in the drive thru line anywhere from 35 minutes to over an hour. I've even tried to walk in and get my prescription, thinking it would be faster. And I was wrong. Every. Single. Time!!! Unfortunately the prescription is Medicare and CVS won't do it. I will not come back here. It would be faster to drive to DALLAS and back!!! No wonder people prefer to shop at Walmart up the road. SMH read more

Recently when we get a prescription filled, we are told that we are in the system and our prescription will be filled the next day. When you are sick and the doctor says, "Start this med today." That makes no sense for the pharmacy to say we can fill it today if you need it. Of course we need it or we wouldn't be there. Just hope the ER'S don't start this practice. read more

As Brookshires stores go, this one is great. It is very new, well laid out and clean. So what's the problem. Every product is priced way higher than at other (e.g. the one that starts with a "K") stores. Maybe if I lived in Anna and didn't want to drive to McKinney to shop I might not mind paying extra for some things. Everything though? It's like shopping at Market Street without feeling like you are somehow fighting the big names. :) read more

I have been shopping at Brookshire's and can say without a doubt that you will save anywhere from 40 to 50 percent by going to Walmart. If you spend $200 at Brookshire's the same stuff at Walmart would be about $120. Here are a few examples: Eckrich sausage, Brookshire's $4.29, Wal-Mart $2.50. Green Giant frozen veggies, Brookshire's $1.92, Walmart $1.24. Chipotle peppers Brookshire's $3.99, Walmart $2.00. It is a fact of life that no one will beat Walmart on prices. Brookshire's is a "small-big" regional company. They have a lot of overhead in employee & logistical expense. In this economy it might be worth the savings & headache to go to the evil Walmart Empire & save almost half on your grocery budget. A few hundred a month adds up. . . read more
