For context, this review is being written after trying only one of BB's products. That having been said, they have made a most prodigious first impression on yours truly. As some may recall, I love me some rib eye. As such, I happen to spot a butcher shop near the same place wifey and I get our pedis. That's how I found this place. Usually I head to Wicked Good Butcha up in Bedford. But I figured since this place is way closer, I'd give them a try. Anyways, we try a little under 2 pounds of rib eye that day. Only...it seemed like a bit less than that. Lemme explain.. These particular cuts of meat could have been distant cousins. Because whilst one was pretty lean with still plenty of marbling, the other piece was something like...30% fat. So, that meant that sometime after grilling was done and carnivorous consumption commenced, I had to essentially leave behind the less than edible chewy, fatty pieces. Nevertheless, you can see from the pics I took how delicious these cuts of beef look. The meaty parts I could manage to extract melted in my mouth like butter (which meant I nailed the mid-rare temp I was going for). Point is though...I couldn't have made a better steak if I just went to the grocery store. The store itself is pretty small and quaint. Everything about their display screams "fresh". Thing is....I've yet to try more things from here. Hence, my lack of fifth star. I figure, it's too soon to tell. But perhaps after I obtain some baby back ribs from them, maybe....we'll see. For now though...I'm giving Brother's Butcher 4 savory rib eye steaks on the grill that melt in your mouth out of 5. read more

Stopped by Brothers Butcher Shop in Nashua as we had never tried it. We asked the clerk what grade the NY strip steaks were and he had no idea. He asked another girl working there and she said I think its Choice, but she did not sound like she was really sure what grade of meat it was. It was $21.99/lb. We decided to try one. Got home and grilled it. It was nothing special and not very tender. When your buying beef you should know what USDA grade it is, and sellers should have it labeled in the cases for buyers to see...Select grade being the lowest, choice grade being in the middle, and prime grade being the best and most tender of the three......Just bought prime grade strip steak for only 19.99 lb from Old Boys Butcher Shop in Merrimack NH a newly opened business and it was VERY tender. We also got a Chicken Pie from the frozen case made by Wrights Farm. It was $18.99 for an 8 inch pie. I am always looking for a great Chicken Pie. I've yet to find one except for Raymonds Turkey Farm. This pie was pathetic. And I mean pathetic. Tiny pieces of chicken, bland gravy and no vegetables. No taste. It had a bottom crust which was very hard to cut to get the pie out of the pan. The 8 inch pie is barely enough for 2 people. And I made mashed potatoes and peas also. My experience at this butcher shop was not overwhelming by any stretch. Would not recommend Brothers Butcher Shop. High prices and mediocre food. read more

They definitely by far have some of the best teriyaki steak tips and their Hudson store that I've ever had in my life and I try steak tips from everywhere. Definitely give them a try. You will not be disappointed. I'm gonna try that Red Sox steak tips tomorrow and I will let you know how those are. read more

Been coming here a lot over the last few years, but today they really screwed up with me. Every other time I've been here it's been decent customer service "what do you need, if it's not out front we can probably cut it for you in the back" you know like a REAL butcher. Well today I came in for some shoulder meat for a real special goulash, the kid at the counter was dumbfounded that I was asking for something that wasn't in the display, and also clearly knows next to nothing about butchering. He asked the boss in the back and came up empty. Nobody wanted to provide anything that even resembles customer service, conversation or options. Screw these guys. Not a real butcher. Just looking to slang their pre-marinated product for high prices. Alpine butcher was ready to accommodate and answer questions, heading there from now on. read more

They have a nice selection of fresh marinated meats. The marinated chicken was excellent but the steak tips were kind of grisly & low on quality & flavor. The staff is wonderful & the store is clean and pleasant. It seems that a lot of these butcher stores have probably switched from "choice" grade meat to "standard" in order to keep prices down but that doesn't do it for me. I'd rather they keep the quality the same & increase the price as necessary but that might not be practical for everyone read more

Great location for this shop, the service is amazing once you walk in. They ask what you're cooking and try to assist in any way. For Christmas Eve we got fantastic filets and their house made red wine demi glaze (chefs kiss). We will be going back as these filets compares (if not better) to top steakhouses we have been to. I've bought from others over the years, I've tried making my own marinades (am a Food Network follower) but hubby and I agree nothing compares to what they sell here! We go to the Hudson location multiple times a month since we moved to the area a few years ago. They're meat quality is top notch and their marinades are great! But after today, we will be looking for a new local butcher. My husband went in and purchased burgers, chicken and some steak. The bill came to roughly $90. He was shocked but didn't think anything of it until he got home and saw that he was charged nearly $40 for 2.5+ lbs of CHICKEN. The person working the counter rang him in for steak and not chicken. My husband called and explained the issue and they apologized over the phone and told him to head on in and they'll correct the situation. Their version of "correcting" was refunding the overcharged amount onto a gift card. I don't want a gift card! I want the $20 I was mischarged either in cash or back onto my debit card. We were told that isn't possible, even if we paid cash we would've received a gift card. I've worked customer service for nearly 20 years, I would never dream of telling a customer they can't have their money back, but clearly this is business as usual. Well buy our last meats from them with a gift card and be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Today (Sunday - 12/29/2019) I went to purchase a BoorsHead precooked ham and noticed at the register that the packed date and sell date were 12/20/2019 (today is 12/29/2019). Asking the cashier to check on these dates she came back with it rewrapped and it now had today's date and said there was an error in the date when wrapping the ham. I questioned her on this and went over to the cooler where the other hams were (about 4-5 of them) and noticed that they all had the same 12/20/2019 pack and sell date. She couldn't give an acceptable answer as to what the real dates were with these hams. Something didn't seem right with these hams. SHOP HERE! They have great marinated chicken breasts. My daughter is VERY picky, but she eats these! They have great smoked dog bones, too. Personally, I think they smell gross, but my dogs LOVE them. They also carry a number of unique food items, like baked goods, gourmet pastas and chips, and craft beer. Well, we stopped by Sunday 4/14/19 to make a purchase again. We have in the past made many purchases. The young male cashier could not understand points gained on purchases. It's also known as "Rewards". He could not look up our number and he seamed confused. So, long story short is there a program in place for rewards. We started buying meats from this place shortly after they opened up and I have not been disappointed yet in our purchases. In the summer, we get their chicken wings a lot to grill and they are full of meat and tasty. As far as steaks, let's just say if you are still buying them at the grocery store butcher section, shame on you! You do not know what you are missing. All the cuts we have gotten compare right along with what you will find at a good restaurant, the only difference being the cook (me). One of the greatest treasures in this shop is their K-Cup selection. I know what you are saying, K-Cups in a butcher shop? Yes, they have a wide selection and they let you mix and match single cups versus forcing you to buy a box of the same kind. We were going to a place that is a bit closer, but they started giving us all fatty meat, so we tried Brothers, wish we had tried them first. Some say the meat is at a premium, it is if you don't buy the packages, the packages are a great value and they will let you do some substitutions, such as half hot dogs and half sausage (we had a ton of hot dogs and were hot dogged out), their staff is ALWAYS friendly and knowledgable, there is a wide variety of meets and marinaded meat, spices, olive oil, charcoal, etc. The place always has customers, the meat is EXCELLENT. Since I do BBQ Smoking I asked about special cuts, such as brisket, and they said no problem. I have not gotten a bad piece of meat from them and they have always been very lean. I have also noticed that on the package deals, the weights are always slightly over!!! A second bonus is their loyalty program, for every hundred points (dollars spent) you get a $10.00 off your next visit coupon and if you go in on Tuesdays, it is double points!!! I drove past Brother's Butcher at least ten times before I finally decided to stop. It is located right in front of Shaw's so it's an easy addition to a shopping trip. I expected just a meat and cheese counter and an old fashioned register. I was wrong. The meat counter is ginormous and has a variety of meats. They slice up Boar's Head for your deli needs, have delicious smelling marinated meats for easy meal prep, and have beautiful cuts of meat to turn homemade into gourmet. It is very clean, even when they're slicing. Next to the fresh cuts counter is a wall of refrigerated cases. They offer a variety of prepackaged meats and cheeses to make shopping easy. The end of the case has Maine Root sodas (a local all-natural soda brand that delivers in taste without breaking the bank) and different beers. The opposite side of the store has frozen foods: meats, handmade pasta, etc. In addition to all of these goodies, they have a decent wine selection (mostly Barefoot), Route 11 potato chips (a Virginia delight), maple syrups from New Hampshire and Vermont, olive oils, dog treats, and more. read more

Stopped in because I frequent several other stores in the same strip mall and always wanted to try them out. The good news is the steak I bought was excellent. The bad news is that I choose the 6oz filet mignon for $9.99. While I thought this was somewhat expensive at an effective rate of $26.64 a pound, I was willing to use it as an opportunity to test the quality. I pointed at a cut of meat that I was told was in the 6oz section. It was then wrapped (and evidently not weighed to check) abd handed to me for checkout. When I got home and unwrapped it, I realized that it looked and felt less than 6oz. I weighed it on a kitchen scale and realized that it was only 4.9oz or $32.62 per pound. Think I will pass on Brother's Butcher in the future. read more

Showed up 15 minutes before the place was closing for them to tell me it's already closed. I get out of work late and wanted to pick up some lunch meats for my work week. This highly frustrates me. If you're going to keep to doors open but tell customers you're closed at 6:45 just lock the doors, and put your closed sign out. read more

The food in general is good. I think the Meat House on Amherst St. is better, but my review is about a bad transaction at Brothers Butcher, not the food. I made a $71 purchase here and when the teller rang me up, he yells "OH NO!", "one little mistake on this credit card machine and it goes haywire!". I obviously start to feel uneasy as to what he had done. He charged my debit card $716.00 instead of $71.00. He gave me a refund receipt which I signed and he assured me it would be refunded. It wasn't refunded. The transaction overdrew my account and I have been dealing with trying to get my money back in order for a week now. The refund was eventually deposited but now I'm arguing with my bank about fees and other BS. Everywhere else I make purchases with my debit card seems to not ever muck things up like this dolt did at Brothers Butcher. My advice is pay with CASH here...woof. read more

BEST butcher shop in southern NH. Their sweet asian chili tips are the best marinaded tips I have ever had. I used to live in PA and would have them vacuum seal 1lb portions of the stuff when I was visiting family in NH to take back to PA with me. After moving back to NH, Brothers has become my summer go to for grilling meats. They also host dinner prep workshops that are a fantastic value- 10 meals that serve 4 people for only $165. And they have the best prices on Boars Head lunch meat. No other butcher shop even touches them. read more

Just bought chicken, brought it home, and it was spoiled smelling. Things happen. I called the butcher and he refused to refund my money. I live 40 minutes away and was not going to drive back with rotten chicken so he could have evidence. The customer is always right if you want people to return.
