Farmers market located in Paterson. The parking is an adventure. There is a lot of it but it was a traffic jam. Be prepared for that. They had a lot of selections in the market. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, a butcher, deli, frozen foods, and more. No shortage of options. My complaint here is the crowd. It's nuts in there. Got pushed and shoved a few times and you feel rushed. If only this place was larger with more room for people and carts. read more

Prices are really good for Middle Eastern staples. Tons of produce, all for really good prices. Bread fresh and soft and still warm from the bakery. Free parking. That said. Don't bring your own bags. They give you reusable bags to use. This place is an absolute mad house on weekends. This isn't a good time to be casually browsing while you get your stuff. Know what you want, and go and get it. It's best if you go with another person if you want to get out quickly. Have one person hold the cart off to a side where it's not super jammed, and have the other person run down the aisle and grab what you want. There are some veg that are higher cost than the typical prices you'd pay at other grocery stores, so do keep an eye on unit prices. read more

The variety and freshness of their fruits and produce are amazing. Prices are reasonable. If you want a selection of different types of dates they have an amazing selection. This is one of the best value for your money supermarkets I think I have ever been to. Simply put you will not fid better prices and this much fresh produce under one roof anywhere. It can feel hectic and fast paced so get in and get out and don't linger or stroll around this is really a NO FRILLS supermarket. They have a huge range of common and exotic fruits, veggies, some teas, milk and kefir, cheeses, sweets and snacks. Don't be intimidated by the look of the long lines at the check out, they move quickly and the low price at the end will be worth the minute or two wait. Madhouse and difficult to get around, even outside where the bins are because of how many people are there. Armed security guard complete with vest who acts like police, i assume as some sort of intimidation tactic. Dude, I know we're in Paterson but who exactly do you think is going to come into this store? Politely but firmly told me I can't bring an outside bag (with shopping I did up the block) into the store. No alternative given (you can check the bag with management until you're done, etc). How are people who are shopping around the area, who maybe have to park blocks away, supposed to come inside and give Brothers their money? I didn't argue, I just left, and (probably) won't be back. Full of fresh produce, exotic products, and surprisingly not full of people on this day. Ive heard it becomes a mad house. The prices are great for in season fruits and veggies. Things that arent in season are not worth it, so be open to whatever is abundant. They also had two prices for strawberries. One brand was $7.99 and the one next door was $4.99. Neither was organic so pay attention. Aside from being price savvy while shopping, give yourself time to explore the pantry isles. I saw so many "new to me" products that Id never have noticed had I not strolled up and down, and looked high and low. The stars are well deserved by the store manager Mr. Magidi, who handled a difficult situation proactively, effectively with a cheerful and supportive attitude. The place is always very busy, over the years they were able to organize an optimal flow of the crowd, which is very impressive. Apparently, the neighborhood is not the safest one - they have taken extra measures to keep customers safe from the theft - but mind your pocketbook! The security guards on duty may not be able to prevent someone opening your backpack, if you are not paying attention. Low prices, fresh produce, for the most part, Middle Eastern specialties, local baked goods - I always leave with a cart full of great food and a $40 bill at a checkout. Love coming here! Today, a mistake was made at a checkout, I was overcharged by a cashier in training (my purchase was attached to the next person's checkout; by the way - the cashier was the nicest most helpful guy, who told me about the produce in season and what can be cooked with it...). When I discovered the discrepancy and came back to the store - Mr. Magidi, the manager, had my receipt in his hand, he knew the amount by heart and had all the information on his computer screen. He said, that they discovered the mistake almost immediately after I left and hoped I would come back soon - he would have kept the receipt for three months, I was told. THEY DON'T HAVE RESPECT TO COSTUMERS! I went to the Brother Produce of NJ today. I brought my own shopping bags like usual, but the security guy at the door did not allow me to enter to the shop. He said that I could not bring my own bags, as it was the store's policy. He added that they offer free bags at the checkout. I said that I did not want extra bags, even if they were not plastic, they are still harmful to the environment since they are not recyclable. I wanted to use my own bags, but he did not let me in the store and raised his voice. I asked nicely to explain the reason for the store policy. Why they did not let people use their own bags? He did not give any explanation but said over and over: "It is a store policy!" I said that I didn't understand their rule and asked to talk to the manager. A man came to the entrance saying that he was the owner. I tried to explain the situation and asked let me into the store with my bags, but he started to shout at me, saying over and over, "It is a policy!" He even insulted me and my intelligence, saying that I have a 2-year-old's understanding! All I was asked was a reasonable explanation about the store policy. In the end, the owner and the security guy confiscated the shopping cart that I use and the produce in my own shopping bags and throw me out of the store. According to the bag ban in NJ, shoppers will need to bring their own reusable bags store, but the Brothers Produce of NJ did not allow people to bring their bags. The Brothers give hundreds of cheap, low-quality cloth bags every day to their customers and don't follow the Bag Ban. In addition, they act rude, insult and throw people who want to bring their own shopping bags. Besides, this is a free country, everyone should be able to bring their bags in any store, and no one should execute ridiculous store policies. I filed and an official complaint to ask for NJ Consumer Affairs to give an official warning to Brothers Produce of NJ to allow customers to bring their own bags and show respect to people. Not a safe place to shop: You would think, they will put their act together after the outbreak of Hepatitis that started at the store especially at the time of COVID 19 Pandemic, but no, they did not learn anything from it. When we were there, we noticed all the workers either not wearing a mask at all or having it at the chin (just a decor) with no regard to the social distancing executive order whatsoever. When we approached the cashier, we asked her to put on her mask, but she refused saying it was hot, (it was not). When we ask for the manager, a woman who stood behind her said she was the manager and instead of instructing the cashier to put her mask up, she removed the mask she had at her chin. Then two men appeared from behind the scene with the same signature mask style at the chin wanted to talk to me. I asked the loud one to put his mask up before coming closer yelling at me, but he got angry and asked me to leave using the F word. Never have I been to a place where the fruits and veggies are sooo cheap. Im talking super cheap... 12 limes for $1, Pineapple $2, Grapefruit 4 for $1.25, Romaine Lettuce $2, 2lb onion 99 cent, Watermelon .25 per lb!!! The prices are insanely cheap and it taste good too for the most part. Not everything was good though, the oranges were soft and seemed rotten and a few other things buts thats to be expected at these prices. Just examine carefully and youll be fine. I spent $13 here (see pix) and at Pathmark it could have easily been over $30 bux. After just one trip I dont think Ill buy produce from anywhere else. The entire block where the store is located has a few other produce, fish, and meat markets but I havent checked those out yet. read more

This is our mainline source for volume fruits and veggies, direct from the Bronx Terminal Market, at almost wholesale prices. Way better than any of the other produce markets on Railway Ave. In the summer and fall they source internationally, regionally and locally and as a result, the variety increases dramatically (as do the bargains). Everything is priced to move, because a lot of their inventory is ready for consumption NOW. The produce has a definite Arabic/Latino profile, so don't be looking for English peas or asian pears here. With a few exceptions (like apples, and root veggies) we buy what we can consume within a few days to avoid spoilage. The Middle Eastern flavored market appeals to virtually every regional food tradition, with exotic spicing, nuts, cheeses, breads, packaged sweets, condiments, oils and the like. You can buy sumac here by the pound and Lebanese olive oil by the gallon. If the parking situation, amenities and traffic both inside and outside the store were better, I'd give it five stars, but then again, the hassle is part of the cultural immersion at this place. read more

This place is packed with people and most of the shoppers have no respect for queues, they will casually cut in front of you with nonchalance.
