I do like coming here to get my eyebrows threaded but when I asked if I I could use the restroom she informed me it wasn't working. I've been coming here long enough (two years) to hear them give this excuse to other customers. I normally wouldn't ask since I live close by but since I've heard them use the excuse to other customers more than twice before I doubt it's true. Like just be real. How can your toilet be broken for months. And for regular customers who might need some relief. Just seems unprofessional from a servicing standpoint. I went in to get my eyebrows done and ended up doing full face. I informed and showed my brow artist that I had a dermal piercing near my eye so to be careful. She did not listen and threaded my dermal out and I had to shove it back in. Yes there was blood and I swelled. I don't know why I paid her but it's been over a month and my dermal is still healing. I just moved to Santa Monica from the Valley a little less than a year ago. In the Valley, there are so many threading salons that promise shapely brows for just $5. I've tried so many of them, and while results varied, I noticed that each one of those salons had something in common: they'd hurt my skin. Pretty badly. I should mention, I don't have sensitive skin at all. Sometimes it'd feel as though they were threading my eyebrows with glass. Enter Brow Mantra. I was curious what a pricetag 3x the cost of what I was used to would deliver. Boy, am I beyond pleased. The wonderful woman who did my eyebrows, I think her name was Annie (?), was extremely gentle and did a terrific job. She was sweet, cordial, and had me in and out of the chair in less than five minutes (and I have a LOT of eyebrow hair, folks). 5/5 stars. I'll be returning here as a long term customer. Wow do not come here! I came here after years of not coming here because I was desperate and the woman completely chopped one of my eyebrows off. One is way thinner than the other and they are totally uneven. It's going to take me at least two months to grow them back. The eyebrow lady didn't even apologize or try to make things better. Kept saying I was seeing it incorrectly and that she can even it out by making the other one thinner. This is seriously my worst eyebrow nightmare and I'm so upset. Yolanda ripped out my eyelashes while doing my eyebrows. She claims she didn't do it and tried to make it out that I was lying. Then she when I went in another time, told me that they wouldn't service me, and that I didn't pay even though I was told I didn't have to pay because of the incident. She said that I was rude even though all I did was get upset without yelling, and without curse words in regards to my eyelashes being ripped out. when I asked to speak to a manager, she refused and again refused to give us service and said I didn't pay Even though another technician told me I didn't have to because of what happened. 4 stars just because I have a lot of love for my eyebrow lady back home and no one does it better than her! I decided to get my brows threaded here a few days before my graduation from UCLA. Although it's not as close to campus as Vinita's, the threading is much better and so is the price. Definitely take advantage of the student discount check in offer if you are eligible! It had been a while since I had gotten my brows done, but the natural shape was still clear and I told my lady (did not get her name, sorry) that I just wanted them cleaned up. She did that well, and I asked her to go slightly thinner near the arch and tail of the brow. She took slightly more hair off, then asked me if that was thin enough or if I wanted more taken off before she did fixed the other brow. Excellent, fast and accurate - this is what a threading place needs to be for people to love it. Brow Mantra has all of this. After being disappointed one too many times with eyebrow waxing and threading attempts, it was so nice to be able to walk into a salon and say "clean up" and she knew what I meant. Namita seems to be quite popular here and a friend also recommended that I request her. So, I did. After waiting about 15 minutes on a weekday about an hour before they closed, I was called to her chair. She didn't spend much time on pleasantries which was fine with me and she got to business. In a few minutes, she was finished and my eyebrows looked great. The lady got offended when I asked her to wash her hands. She wanted to just use sanitizer and I told her to please wash her hands (soap and water ) as I have sensitive skin. This is my face. It happened. I went back to threading. It took me a couple years and a lot of trial and error but I have finally found a place that I trust to thread my eyebrows. The women here really listen to you when it comes to how you want your brows to be threaded -- which is extremely important. I mean, haven't we all had the nightmare of looking in the mirror and being horrified by how our brows look? Especially when it is done quickly. It was also the least painful threading that I have ever gone through. Usually I'm tearing up as soon as they hit the space between my eye and the eyebrow but this was first threading that I got through tear-free. Best part of this? Besides everything else? The price. You really can't beat how much this costs with the quality and detail-orientation versus going somewhere else to get waxed (or threaded). Came here a few days ago in desperate need of an eyebrow clean up! I had grown them out for a while and needed someone trustworthy to do my brows. I've always been super picky and have tried a few places but the one that I absolutely loved is about 40 minutes away. I'm a starving college student! I can't afford to go out there every month. Haha. So I found this place via yelp. I made an appointment and came in. I was about 10 minutes late so they did one walk in before me and them I was next. I had Jessica and she just jumped right to it. Haha. Usually I tell them not to make them too thin or give some pointers but this time I decided to just trust her since she seemed like she knew what she was doing. It actually hurt more than any other time I've gotten my brows threaded and I'm not sure if it's because I haven't gotten them done in a while but ouch! They came out a lot thinner than I wanted. Thinner than I've had them in a while which saddened me because I grew them out and wanted them to be thicker but I'll take partial responsibility for not saying anything. The first time I ever did my eyebrows, I was about 7 years old. My basketball coach had these funny lines through his eyebrows and I wanted to have the same look. I took my dad's razor and went to town on my eyebrows. When I was done, I showed my mom and proudly said "Look what I did!" She just about had a heart attack and told me to never touch my eyebrows again. My mom had to draw in my eyebrows for me (mind you I was in the second grade) until they grew back. I probably looked so crazy. Anywho, after that experience I've always been paranoid about doing anything to my eyebrows. I plucked them waaaaayyy too thin in high school, tried to grow them out in college, and then just let the to their thang when I became an adult. A few friends recommended threading to me, and I tried it once. Hated it because it was so painful and I'd get these little cuts around my eyebrows. I have to admit that it was still painful, but not as bad as the other place and I never got those painful scabs around my eyebrows. She's quick; I'm in and outta there in 5-10 minutes. I was here for my second time earlier this week, and I can now confirm myself a repeat customer. The first time I was with Namita who was mentioned here several times. I showed her a previous picture of how I liked my brows done and was I pleased with the work she did. This past week there was a slight wait and Namita seemed to be the choice of everyone in front of me on the sign-in sheet. Since I was short on time (and parked illegally), I opted to go with the other girl who was working. No more than 10 minutes later (wait time included), I was VERY pleased with the outcome! Rochelle (not sure of the spelling) was also presented with a photo, and although I skipped the toner/lotion after the threading, I was fine enough to head to an event a couple hours later. The arch was great, and am happy to recommend her in addition to Namita. Either way, you cannot go wrong at this place. $10 just made my face look slightly more bearable! read more

As a long time client of many years, I will never go back here. Whoever decided that it was acceptable to have the receptionist (Maria), who is both unlicensed and unskilled, to do threading on someone's face, should be fired immediately, along with Maria. Not only did Maria cause bleeding and swelling, but she would stop the threading to go answer phones, come back, and not bother to wash her hands. This is the most irresponsible kind of business practice for a salon to do. There is a reason why there are licenses for this skill. The idea of substituting the person answering phones to do threading is beyond unacceptable. read more

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 10 years now and out of all the salon's and even family friends I've gone to, this is the best place I've had my eyebrows done. The staff is always really sweet, welcoming and give you a home-like vibe when you walk in. It's extremely clean in there, you never feel rushed (which is the bestt because if you ever have someone rushing during threading you're likely to end up with cuts and mistakes) The owner has offered small bottles of waters, they have stamp cards and even gave henna gifts during Christmas time. The best is they use toner at the end and then lotion to massage your brow area. It's amazing! Definitely the best place to shape your eyebrows, do NOT wax them. It's a waste of money and bad for the skin in that area. You will never get a better shape either. read more

It's hard finding a good threading place and this place is consistent and clean. I was big fan of Namita before she left (?) anyone out there know what happened to her?! but the staff remaining staff is all friendly and you usually never have to wait more than 10 minutes if you go in without an appointment. The one thing they can do better is actually consulting you on your eyebrows before they begin. Each person, Annie, Norma, etc. all have a bit of a different take on what they think looks good and I've learned to just let them do their thing because they do not take direction well...but sometimes my eyebrows come out more narrow, other times more arched... you get the idea. I'm not the pickiest but I can see how this might not be ideal for someone who doesn't have as much brow to work with as I do. read more

I absolutely love this threading salon. I have visited 3 times now and each visit is better than the last. Amira is a gem and will make sure you're happy with your brows (at least in my experience which is limited to the eyebrow threading service). As I have been trying to grow out and keep my eyebrows full Amira makes sure to check in with me on what I'm looking for before she starts threading. As someone who's been threading since she was 15 the service is really high quality. She attempts to get to know her clients and has made me feel so welcome. I always appreciate being remembered (even though I am typically terrible with names myself). It was my first place getting my eyebrows threaded and my favorite place. All the other eyebrow threading places don't compare to this one in my opinion. Very reasonable price. I always prefer this place over any other eyebrow threading place. The older one, is so sweet. She always ask if you want any lotion for your eyebrows. Which I recommend, cause it really helps soothes your eyebrows after threading. It is also free of charge and she would then massage them for a bit if she feels like you're in a bit of discomfort from the threading. Everyone is so nice here.
