TL;DR: business made a mistake. Would not admit it and blamed on customer. Did not try to find a solution. Lied on pricing for a fix. Long version: We had a very disappointing experience with Broward Impact Window & Door. We worked with them to purchase all the windows and doors for a house renovation. During the purchasing process, we worked with Madeline to place the order. We initially communicated by text, which I prefer because it helps avoid misunderstandings and provides a written record. However, she insisted that we review and confirm everything by phone instead. During two separate phone calls, she asked whether we wanted the entrance door to be frosted. Both times, I said no, as the property does not face the street. When the order was delivered, the entrance door was frosted. I immediately reached out to them, but Madeline denied that any mistake had been made. She escalated the issue to her manager, who maintained that the error was ours because the order paperwork - that was sent to us to review - had an acronym indicating a frosted door. We ordered 16 different items, each described with many acronyms that, as a consumer, are difficult to interpret. This is precisely why we relied on their expertise to ensure the written order accurately reflected what was discussed verbally. The owner made no effort to offer a reasonable solution and instead focused solely on assigning blame. When my wife tried to find a solution and asked whether they could fix the issue, the owner told us over the phone it could be corrected for an estimated $200-$300, at our expense. We agreed to that. However, the invoice we later received was over $850, which no longer made sense given the cost of the door. While the issue itself was relatively small, the way it was handled was unacceptable. I would absolutely not work with this company again, and based on this experience, I would not recommend working with them. read more

We had a great experience with Joe Colwell. He originally gave us a quote and we didn't sign until a year later and he maybe made 5 house calls in the time. He also assured a prompt installation and he came out to make sure we were thrilled with it all. He was responsive, honest and everything we could ask for with a huge purchase like this. They explained the entire process to me from the measurements, to the installation of the hurricane impact windows and have even followed up multiple times to ensure everything went smoothly. Broward Impact is the worst. in November 2022 they installed new impact windows in our entire home. In March of 2022 we noticed that one of the windows was delaminating. we immediately contacted Broward Impact and the person who answered phone told us that it was covered under the warranty and that she would submit a report and we would here back in 2-3 week. Bottom is it's now 10 months later and have gotten nothing but excuse. 1st it was delayed due to Covid, next call it was supply chain, then it was we ordered the wrong window. in August after being told the ordered the wrong window I spoke with Joe who is supposed to be the shop manager, he apologize and said he would order the correct window and that we would have it by October. In October I reached out to Joe who now was telling me (3 months later) he would have to send Robert or salesperson back to the house to ensure they were ordering the right window. Now call me crazy but why did he wait 3 months and until I called again. When Robert came by I was obviously upser. Robert said I going to be honest with you, we screwed up. He said that Joe was dealing with personal issues and he forgot to order the window. Robert said he would personally take care of the issue and ensure it was resolve. on December 23rd I sent Robert a text to inquire were we stood. His response to me was he would look into and get back. Well another 3 weeks have gone by and nothing. All I can say at this point is if you use Broward Impact, pray you have no issues after you make your final payment as all will get is excuses and no actio. read more

I would not and have not recommended this company for impact doors and windows. They do not stand by their product as evidenced when I tried to get a window that had a fishbowl affects replaced. I had several opinions from professional installers agree it was defective including a rep from the manufacturer. Broward Impact, however, wanted to charge me for a new window! The owner is also rude, where, if I could attach my saved voice mail to this, I would. I have not replaced the window yet and could live with it other than for the fact is one of the 2 main windows we always look out. Since then, I have steered many neighbors clear. read more

The sales staff and show room are excellent. Once it comes to install we had allot of problems. The windows failed inspection and crews had to come back for 2 extra days to do repairs. Once the job was done I noticed broken glass and tap con screws all over my yard. ( it would have been nice to know with a toddler) Also 2 scratched windows. I called to see if we could get the scratches repaired and was quickly given a run around and no resolution. read more

Buyer Beware Stay away from this company if you want follow up, good communication or a job well done. When they want your business they are great, once you sign the contract and give them 1/2 down it goes down hill FAST. Install started in November and one slider was way to small. They do not check the sizes when they are delivered or before they are put on the installers truck. I was told new one should be about 2 weeks. After 4 weeks I emailed and never got a response. After 7 weeks I finally get an install date for January. I told this company the day after the first installation that we had issues and was told the new installer would fix. They tried to "rig" it and thought I would be ok with it and wanted the money. I told them when you correct the issues I will pay you, the response from the main guy in charge I was told it's a warranty issue, NO it's an installation issue and you need to fix it and I will gladly pay you. Her we are 5 months later and they are just now trying to fix the issues. But I was told be sure to write them a check. I was hounded for by them for payment when they couldn't even fix my windows or screens. I would not recommend this company unless they have a major overhaul of staff. read more

The simple fact is, your windows were installed wrong. all the windows in the house are installed wrong because they are all installed the same. Since I was the one paying for the Job, it is my Job. It should make no difference to you what state the house was in. Even if the inspection was the next day, it would have failed because your guys left to much space under the window. Hollywood code allows no more than a 1/4 inch space under the window. Since all the windows you installed have a 2 inch lip outside, every window has a 2 inch space underneath, which means they are all wrong. when your guy came to fix the kitchen window all he did was slap some concrete in there, most of which did not even make it under the window. So, yes you have some good reviews, you also have many bad reviews. Maybe, Just maybe you should stop blaming the customer and work on doing the job right the first time. One more thing, here is a picture of the screw your guys put in that was to short and not even in the concrete. I had to show that to them or your guys would have left it. read more

Windows measured wrong; When I noticed gaps large enough to allow indoor light to shine thru to the outside, was told "out of warranty" when, after many months of waiting turned out they neglected to put the "air stops" at the frame of the windows. Owner Dave very arrogant after I spent in excess of $20K with this company. By the way, 2 years later, while cleaning out my garage I found their box of materials excluded in the installation, including "air-stops" with instructions that say "install air stops prior to window installation". I'd never refer this company to anyone. read more

What a disappointing experience! Ordered windows for house in the Keys, discussed on several occasions the need to deliver windows to the Keys. Throughout discussions and noted on several quotes, informed the delivery cost would be between $400-$450. Windows arrived this week and now being informed that maybe we should pick up the windows as the delivery cost is now $1000. When asked why the sudden increase, informed the initial quote was for local delivery and not for delivery to the Keys and that many delivery companies are now weary of delivering in the Keys and have increased their prices; plus in the past they have had issues with having to cover costs that clients did not want pay due to final delivery cost being way over initial cost. Why give a quote in the first place if this has been an issue in the past? Why not be honest and upfront and call the delivery company and get a realtime quote based on number of items and distance to be delivered. It's very frustrating to spend a large amount of money on a product and the company not be able to follow through on delivery. Buyers beware, ensure they give you an honest upfront quote for delivery before you order or sign anything. read more

We had just moved to Florida in June of 2017 and decided to splurge for hurricane impact windows, doors, and garage door. Jorge gave us an estimate and was very friendly. They were in contact with us throughout the whole process. Unfortunately a hurricane came the week our job was supposed to be done. I guess they had to do other jobs? Tho usher our installation back a month. I guess you can't control the weather. However, when the job got done we have a sliding door that is very difficult to lock. We asked the worker to fix it better, but he responded this is as god as it's going to get. Even worse is that one of the windows broke one week later for an unknown reason. It was very difficult to get a hold of them. Needless to say about a year later i finally was fed up and caked multiple times. They claim they were calling my wife. I told them to call me, and still nothing. Either way I get a call that I had to stay home and take time off from my work so they could claim through insurance. The guy said the company will know in a few days. Did I get a cal back? Of course not. It's three years later still with the crack in the window. Buyer beware. We haven't even had installation yet and I feel compelled to write a review. Our rep, Joseph, has gone above and beyond in terms of customer service. We have been struggling with getting the front door we wanted approved by our HOA and Joseph came to our neighborhood meeting tonight, after business hours, to speak on our behalf. He has been consistently in touch with us via email and phone. He has had to write and re-write the contract countless times for our HOA. I am pleased to say that, in large part because of him, our requests were approved. I read some previous reviews about bad customer service-- Joseph is newer to the company, but I would highly recommend requesting him when you call for a quote. I cannot speak more highly of him. Yep the Rep was a no show or did he answer any of my phone calls.I decided to stop into the showroom, being that they were not too far away. Great experience getting all new impact doors and windows. We were nervous because this was a big expense. You over your very expensive windows, pay half and then wait, and wait for them to come in. But with the pandemic everything is delayed and they were still within a few weeks of when they said. The installation went great! They came and did a little over half the house one day and the rest the next. They did a great job fitting our older home with very thick sturdy windows with a tint. We have many large windows and a French double door in back. It looked great when done, they cleaned up as they went and were very nice but focused on their work the entire time. The inspectors for both the permits and insurance both said what a great job they did and we have already received a notice that we will be getting a discount of over 2,000 on our windstorm next year!! Evers or Everett was one of the installers that was particularly talented at fitting the windows perfectly. We had a contractor working on the house across the street come over and ask him for advice on a tricky window. I looked at their windows when done and they looked no where near as good as ours. They may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for sometimes! read more

I will start with the customer service, I got my doors and windows installed March of 2017 everything came out great all of the sudden my door now rubs when I open and close it. I've been calling them about this issue and I spoken to several people everyone takes down my name and number but I will not get a call back to save my life. My door when close you can see a bigger gap at the top than at the bottom, when i ask why it's doing this they're explanation is the door is not painted therefore it has expand. I spent over 10000 dollars on windows and doors. The only time they did call me was when I was getting the quote for the windows they pushed so much to get the job. read more

Everything started out great. Then at the end they were messy and I have caulk on my floors and windows, and about 15 screws and nails in my driveway. None in my tires thank god. When they put the glass door in, they glass door was scratched. I watched them talk about it and never said anything to me and it looked like they weren't going to say anything. I let it go for a while. When I said something about it they acted like it was the first time they saw it. So they did send someone to buff out the mark on the glass, they got water and compound between the pains of glass. When I called them about it they said they were going to send someone to look at it. I even sent them a picture via text. To date the owner has not returned my calls. Did my homework and didn't choose the least expensive company. They appeared professional and friendly. It took 6 months to complete the job. The sliding windows were ordered the wrong size and it took months to receive the correct size; they left holes in my outside walls for supports until the new sliders arrived; about 16 months went by and one evening, I was looking at the kitchen windows from outside and realized I could see the interior house light shining thru 2 areas at the upper windows. When I contacted Broward Impact Window & Door's, Dave ( owner), he advised me that I was out of warranty, etc. It was clearly missing something to prevent air loss and insect infiltration, however, he sent me a very rude email about "out of warranty". I don't know how many people go outside in the evening looking for "light leaks" post window installation, but I'd recommend it to anyone in the future. Fast forward to January 2018 Joe, the sales person, calls and says he's bringing over insulating pads that had been omitted during installation. He arrives with 1 however there are 2 windows and I sent him pictures. I text him not to forget to come back for the second pad in February. Finally, here we are in June and he finally arrives after I called again. Terrible service. I would be fired if I handled my clients this way. FYI, I spend over $20K with this company. I work with people in their homes every day. They lost a good referral over $5.00 window pads. read more

Joseph Colwell, a sales person for Broward Impact Window & Door, Inc., told me on Friday that the price in his March proposal still held. When he came to have a contract signed, on Monday, he insisted that I pay $ 500 more. David Meadors, the owner of Broward impact insists that his sales person was in error, and that he is, therefore, not legally or morally bound to any price, until a contract is executed. I believe that the truth was misrepresented and that I am entitled to the original contract price. I would not sign a new contract, after obtaining condo and loan company approvals. read more

The windows that were finished were done well, though the installers cracked tiles and damaged stucco. Their contract excludes payment for any breakage or damage that occurs. When I told the owner, Dave, I was surprised his company was asking for final payment even before the job was complete, he told me that the job was done and that his company had fulfilled their part of the contract. There were pieces missing and his crew had left large gaping holes in the concrete which they refused to repair. Moreover, Dave said that if we didn't pay he would put a lien on my house!
